Review Overview

Enhanced Lotion 10% Glycolic AHA remains the best AHA bargain Alpha Hydrox offers. The standard lotion formula contains 10% glycolic acid at a pH of 4, making it an effective option for exfoliating normal to dry skin.

There isn’t much else of note to discuss, but if you’re looking for a good AHA product with a lotion texture, this is one to try.

Helps reduces and prevent fine lines, wrinkles, forehead creases, crow's feet, laugh lines & more. Helps restore & maintain younger, healthier, more radiant-looking skin. Improves elasticity and evens skin tone.

Water, Glycolic Acid, Ammonium Hydroxide, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Propylene Glycol, PEG-40 Stearate, Sorbitan Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Laurate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Petrolatum, Dimethicone, Myristyl Myristate, Stearic Acid, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Cellulose Gum, Sorbic Acid, BHT, Imidazolidinyl Urea

Brand Overview

Alpha Hydrox At-A-Glance

Strengths: A good selection of well-priced, effective AHA products utilizing glycolic acid; also excels with skin-lightening and retinol products; a small but workable selection of cleansers.

Weaknesses:A couple of moisturizers with oxygenating ingredients; reliance on jar packaging for some products with antioxidants.

Known primarily for their well-formulated AHA products, Alpha Hydrox got an impressive image update recently. Although the improvements were more visual and packaging-related than formulary-driven, the fact remains that Alpha Hydrox has a formidable range of effective AHA products, all with definitively researched glycolic acid. Kudos to the company for continuing to be direct about the AHA content (and pH) of their exfoliants, something most other lines selling AHA products prefer to keep a mystery. Should the folks behind this brand choose to go back to the drawing board once again, they would do well to reconsider their current jar packaging if they intend to keep adding antioxidants and other beneficial ingredients to their efficacious but still predominantly basic products. Until then, you can rely on Alpha Hydrox for supplying AHA products that really work, and a few other surprises too, all affordably priced and readily available.

Good value

Like everyone else, I am pinching pennies all the while needing a skin product. I have a hard time calling it a necessity, and not a luxury, but my heels were starting to crack this winter and moisturizing lotions alone were not helping. I just could not spend $21 on Paula's product. Thankfully, she reviews other products and this one was a bargain. It is available at many different online shops, you just have to do some shopping to get the best price for that day, but worth the effort.

Super cheap and big bottles!

You can buy this on iHerb for around $15 - compared to every other AHA product in Australia, it's an utter steal, especially if you have body acne or are intending to use it to prevent ingrown hairs from shaving/waxing. For the amount you get, it's real value. With that being said, be wary of who ships it - I've had a few bottles with broken lids before from clumsy delivery drivers. If you can, ask for extra bubble wrap.

great product!

I have used this product daily since first found it! Then my store stopped carrying it. I found it online to purchase and have been so happy! It was the only AHA product I could afford at the time, and I am still loving it! I have not tried others to compare as I don't feel I need to. My skin use to be prone to breakouts, and this product did not cause breakouts. Now in my 50s my skin is a bit drier, but this product still is working for me!. It can sting, so not sure for sensitive skin.
