This is a very good, fragrance-free AHA exfoliant that contains 8% glycolic acid formulated at a pH to ensure it functions as an exfoliant. Although this offers the multiple benefits of using an AHA exfoliant, it is not rated higher due to the lack of other anti-aging ingredients such as antioxidants and skin-repairing substances. Those additions turn a good AHA exfoliant into a great one, and their absence makes this a less desirable though still effective option that’s OK for normal to dry skin. Those with sensitive skin should proceed with caution, as 8% glycolic acid can be too much. If you have sensitive skin and want to try this exfoliant, apply it nightly every other night for the first few weeks and pay attention to how your skin responds.
Proven to significantly reduce and delay the onset of fine lines, wrinkles, forehead creases, crow’s feet, laugh lines and more. With 8% Glycolic AHA at an effective pH 4, this cream effectively and safely lifts dead cells from the skin's surface, revitalizing & helping restore younger, healthy, more radiant-looking skin. Renews moisture, refines texture, improves elasticity and skin tone.

Known primarily for their well-formulated AHA products, Alpha Hydrox got an impressive image update recently. Although the improvements were more visual and packaging-related than formulary-driven, the fact remains that Alpha Hydrox has a formidable range of effective AHA products, all with definitively researched glycolic acid. Kudos to the company for continuing to be direct about the AHA content (and pH) of their exfoliants, something most other lines selling AHA products prefer to keep a mystery. Should the folks behind this brand choose to go back to the drawing board once again, they would do well to reconsider their current jar packaging if they intend to keep adding antioxidants and other beneficial ingredients to their efficacious but still predominantly basic products. Until then, you can rely on Alpha Hydrox for supplying AHA products that really work, and a few other surprises too, all affordably priced and readily available.
