Review Overview

Celebration Foundation is a pressed-powder foundation that IT Cosmetics claims has a variety of anti-aging properties courtesy of ingredients like niacinamide, peptides, antioxidants, and "hyaluronic filling spheres." While this all sounds amazing, the truth is that many of these ingredients will start losing their effectiveness as soon as you open the compact. Long story short: Don't purchase this on the basis of its anti-aging claims alone—those ingredients won't last for long in this type of packaging.

As for the foundation itself, it's merely average. It provides medium coverage (not completely full coverage as claimed) and comes in five shades, which are yellow-based enough to appear natural on many skin tones.

This powder feels silky and doesn't fade; however, it also tends to accentuate dry spots on the face and can highlight larger pores, which is strange, because powder is generally good at minimizing the appearance of pores.

Pros:
  • Shades appear natural on many skin tones.
  • Feels silky and lasts without fading.
Cons:
  • Expensive for what you get.
  • Can accentuate dry spots and large pores.

Brand Overview

Strengths: Excellent color products, standout foundation and concealer options, impressive highlighters.

Weaknesses: Can be on the pricey side; has a few makeup products with exaggerated anti-aging claims.

IT Cosmetics (the IT stands for “Innovative Technology”) is the creation of Jamie Kern Lima, a former Miss USA pageant contestant and TV news anchor. Lima founded IT Cosmetics in 2008, selling her products in boutique stores and on QVC, then expanding into Canada in 2009. Since then, the line has gotten a lot of exposure with featured reports and stories on network television, including prominent mentions on the ABC reality show Dancing With the Stars.

The labels on most IT Cosmetics products reveal a variety of age-defying claims centered around ingredients like antioxidants, peptides, vitamins, and collagen. Those are indeed great additions to any cosmetic product, but unfortunately, the combination of compact or jar packaging among the formulas that include those helpful ingredients isn’t a good thing.

Air exposure compromises ingredients like antioxidants and peptides, rendering them useless. While that doesn’t affect the quality of the makeup, it is worth noting if you were hoping for an anti-aging edge from IT Cosmetics’ antioxidant-boosted blush or powders.

Of course, IT Cosmetics does have products that are absolutely worth checking out. The line boasts an excellent range of color products, highlighters, foundations and many more worth consideration. As with any line that has a mix of standouts and caveats, shopping using our reviews to guide you is a great way to ensure you’ll at least get your money’s worth, and your skin will be the better for it.

Celebration foundation

I am used to a cream foundation and wanted a more luminous lighter look. I just received my celebration foundation, concealer, and naturally pretty face palette along with the foundation brush " heavenly luxe". I love the look it is so light yet gave me a good coverage. I used my usual moisturizer and a light rose oil first. Be sure to prime your skin first. I have dark hair And eyes yet fair complexion and I bought the medium. It is perfect.

Great coverage, but cause acne

I was struggling with adult acne. Thinking I am old enough to try an expensive great coverage foundation. It does what is says: great coverage on red marks but my acne keeps coming back on my cheeks even with all the great Paula's acne Clear line. Now I am almost done with this compact, and found out it contains ethylhexyl palmitate on the top 5. I should have stick with Paula's recommendation on foundation. Going to try Rimmel Stay Matte ($4) one.

Large Pores

I have large pores and was thinking of sending it back. However, for some reason, I applied it by stippling on the areas with pores. That did the trick. The only caveat is there are not a lot of shades....

Amazing Foundation

I bought this foundation a few days ago and I've been dying to try it for months. I bought this foundation because I heard wonderful reviews on it. I bought the foundation in light medium and in the black package. With this product, I used the heavenly luxe airbrush foundation brush (I think that's what it's called). The results were amazing. The coverage was nice and product blended perfectly. It also feels like I'm not wearing it at all. The only downside is the price.

Ms

Other than Pur Minerals 4-in-one, this is my go-to powder foundation. It does a great job of covering pores and feels silky and as though one is makeup-free. It is also good as a setting powder over cream foundation.

No Cause for Celebration

I'd never bought anything from QVC before, but this product sounded like it would be the answer to my foundation prayers. I ordered Fair, which was actually too pale for my fair skin. In order to provide any coverage, I had to apply many times, which made the stuff look grainy and obvious, definitely not silky. I didn't notice it irritating my skin, however. I wound up returning it, though.
