This long-wearing lipstick is tenacious, and will certainly get you through 6 to 8 hours of regular wear before you need a touch-up. (Why companies feel the need to exaggerate their wear claims makes no sense—isn’t 6 to 8 hours impressive enough?) While this does have a creamier texture than many long-wearing lipsticks, it’s not the most comfortable lipstick. It’s slightly tacky and you can feel the tackiness on your lips, but to a certain degree the texture and feel is a matter of preference, along with some trade-offs that come with long-wearing lipsticks.

The finish is semi-matte, but the color is rich and long-lasting. While it does smooth on easily, the set time is slightly longer than average. Nearly every shade has some degree of shimmer, whether you can see it in the tube or not; even the most matte-looking (Ravishing Rouge) has flecks of sparkle in it you’ll see once applied.

Pros:

Maybelline's latest urban image is a positive step, as many of their latest launches have been innovative without resorting to "been-there, done-that" gimmicks. Smart shoppers will note the similarities of a few of Maybelline’s formulas to products from high-end brands that are also owned by parent company L’Oreal. That just goes to show conscientious shopping can really save you money—without sacrificing quality or performance.
