Review Overview

Milani touts Infinite Liquid Eye Liner as able to last up to 24 hours. That’s really not too far of stretch because the formula is very tenacious, and you can count on smudge-free, flake-free wear throughout the day. (You’ll definitely want eye makeup remover to get it off.) However, unless you plan to forgo sleep, keeping any eyeliner on for 24 hours isn’t a good idea; going to bed with eye makeup on is a surefire way to wake up to puffy, red, irritated eyes!

The wet application takes a while to dry down so you have to be patient, but it pays off with dramatic bold color in classic shades like black or brown, as well as trendier shades like blue, green, and purple.

The liquid formula goes on smooth with a flexible brush that allows you to create a thick or thin line, depending on your preference. All told, this is a long-lasting eyeliner option at a bargain price!

  • Deeply pigmented classic or trendy colors.
  • Smooth application.
  • Flexible brush allows for a thick or thin line.
  • Stays put and offers flake-free wear.
  • Bona fide beauty bargain!

  • Liquid formula takes a while to set.

Milani Cosmetics At-a-Glance

Strengths: Inexpensive with some excellent options for women of color; good Baked Blush; silky pressed-powder eyeshadow palette; Infinite Liquid Eye Liner and Eye Tech Liquid Eye Liner have amazing staying power; Smooth Finish Cream-to-Powder Makeup.

Weaknesses: Baked Bronzer; numerous products that contain potentially irritating fragrant ingredients; several mediocre to poor products including Color Perfect Lipstick, Crystal Gloss, and The Multitasker Face Powder.

Launched in 2002, Milani Cosmetics prides itself as being an affordable beauty line with a "passion for color and a recognized need for a broader variety" for women of different ages, skin tones and income. While many brands have a limited selection of products designed for medium to dark skin, Milani has succeeded in catering to women with deeper skin tones, which is this makeup line's chief point of difference. We admire Milani for celebrating the beauty in diversity, and their dedication to providing color options that are appropriate (and appealing) to a wide range of skin tones.

Milani focuses on face and eye products, and this is where they excel. Despite being a smaller brand (compared to the likes of Cover Girl or L'Oreal), Milani products can be found tucked alongside the big makeup lines in many drugstores and stores like Target and Wal-Mart. They've definitely added a splash of color to the cosmetics aisle, and several of their inexpensive products are definitely worth a look. But as with most makeup lines, there also are some poorly executed products to avoid.

This is a diverse line with a mix of bold, classic, and trendy makeup. Although the products may be aesthetically pleasing on the shelf, their visual appeal doesn't always translate well to actual application and performance quality. In some instances, Milani's philosophy of "color, color, color and more color" misses the boat by offering glitzy, ultra-vibrant shades, instead of more options for a classic makeup application (women of color have to go to work, too, not just out for the evening). Just because you have dark skin doesn't mean your color choices need to be shocking or ultra-bold. Still, as mentioned, Milani offers some worthwhile products and their prices are budget-friendly. On balance, you'll find more to like than avoid.

Long lasting-hard to apply

This liner is VERY long lasting. The best in fact for me as I've been struggling with finding an eyeliner that will not fade, smear, or fade on my oily eyelids and watery eyes. However, the application is hard and I can't figure out why. I'm a pretty well seasoned liquid eyeliner applier, but this one is just super hard. It's thick and gets all over my lashes no matter which angle I try. It's a love/hate relationship with this liner. Keep makeup remover and cotton swabs on hand for application!

best eyeliner ever used

I hated using eye pencils for years and when I found this in the south of Florida it worked great! You have to see it like a paint brush on your eye. It goes on smooth and follows your wrist movement better than your forefinger trying to angle a design. Sadly I can't find this stuff so easily in Oregon. If you find it grab it. It doesnt matter if you have white or black skin this stuff works wonders!

not easy to apply

This product has a strange ??brush that is not easy to apply to the eye. If you pass it over your hand it goes on relatively uniform but on the eye lots of product sticking to the lashes which stayed wet for several hours. It is tenacious, and does stay on...the application is just too hard.

It is my favorite eyeliner. The other day someone asked if I had gotten permanent makeup done. It works fabulously and I would recomend it to anyone.
