Review Overview

This fragrance-free moisturizer has a lush, creamy texture those with dry to very dry skin are likely to appreciate. It contains numerous non-fragrant plant oils, all of which have antioxidant benefits, but not in jar packaging (which is this product’s downfall). The fact that it’s packaged in a jar means the beneficial ingredients won't remain stable once it is opened. All plant extracts, vitamins, antioxidants (what Miracle Skin Transformer refers to as their M3 Complex), and other state-of-the-art ingredients break down in the presence of air, so once a jar is opened and lets the air in these important ingredients begin to deteriorate. Jars also are unsanitary because you’re dipping your fingers into them with each use, adding bacteria which further deteriorate the beneficial ingredients (Sources: Free Radical Biology and Medicine, September 2007, pages 818-829; Ageing Research Reviews, December 2007, pages 271-288; Dermatologic Therapy, September-October 2007, pages 314-321; International Journal of Pharmaceutics, June 12, 2005, pages 197-203; Pharmaceutical Development and Technology, January 2002, pages 1-32; International Society for Horticultural Science, www.actahort.org/members/showpdf?booknrarnr=778_5; Beautypackaging.com, and www.beautypackaging.com/articles/2007/03/airless-packaging.php).

The packaging is a shame, and not what you should expect for a product costing this much (talk about throwing your money away). In better packaging, this would earn our top rating; however, it cannot exfoliate as claimed. None of the ingredients in here exfoliate. In addition to the plant oils, you’re getting emollient thickeners, collagen (but this cannot fuse with or build collagen in your skin), aloe, plant extracts, repairing ingredients, and vitamin-based antioxidants. Sigh…it really is a beautiful formulation which makes the poor choice of jar packaging all the more disappointing.

You can Get this in Tube and not jar packaging

I know that Paula could not rate this as best because of the jar packaging in the large size. However, if you go to Ulta you can get this in the one ounce size along with a one ounce size of the Miracle Skin Transformer SPF 20 and one ounce of the scrub for $49.00. $80 retail value. Also, all of the products come in Tubes. As for the exfoliant needing alot of rinsing - I use a makeup remover first, then the exfoliator, then my Ceravie Cleanser - Problem solved - skin looks fabulous.
