This tinted lip balm with sunscreen is similar to but more emollient than Nivea's A Kiss of Shine Natural Look Glossy Lip Care SPF 15. Other than the Natural Volume version being preferred for notably dry lips, the same review applies: The sheer color and smooth moisture this provides are great, as it the broad-spectrum sunscreen that includes avobenzone for reliable UVA screening. This lip balm would've earned our top rating if it were fragrance-free and contained more than a dusting of antioxidants. Still, for the money (and if you want a soft wash of color with a hint of shimmer) this is worth considering.

Nivea is a globally known brand owned by Beiersdorf, the same company behind department-store brand La Prairie and drugstore mainstay Eucerin. Among those three brands, Nivea's product selection is the weakest (which isn't saying much, because none of these lines have much of anything to offer skin). For Nivea, uninspired formulas abound, presenting limited options unless you have normal to dry skin, and even those have exceptionally inelegant formulas. The enduring popularity of this line has more to do with advertising and perhaps tradition (it has been around a long time) than with what any researcher would consider state-of-the-art.
