Except for its sheer red tint, this glossy lip balm is identical to Nivea's A Kiss of Shine Natural Glossy Lip Care. Therefore, the same review applies: this is a good option for preventing chapped lips while adding an alluring shine without stickiness. Interestingly, this contains a couple of sunscreen agents, including avobenzone (listed by its chemical name butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane). However, because these are not listed as active, they shouldn’t be relied on for sun protection.

Gives lips a brilliant, glossy shine, in a subtle red tint. No sticky residue. Provides long-lasting moisturization. Contains natural ingredients: shea butter and vitamin E. The result is soft, smooth lips with an irresistible red glossy shine.

Nivea is a globally known brand owned by Beiersdorf, the same company behind department-store brand La Prairie and drugstore mainstay Eucerin. Among those three brands, Nivea's product selection is the weakest (which isn't saying much, because none of these lines have much of anything to offer skin). For Nivea, uninspired formulas abound, presenting limited options unless you have normal to dry skin, and even those have exceptionally inelegant formulas. The enduring popularity of this line has more to do with advertising and perhaps tradition (it has been around a long time) than with what any researcher would consider state-of-the-art.
