In addition to minor amounts of fragrance chemicals known to be skin irritants, these cleansing cloths contain a high amount of angelic root water. The root portion of the angelic plant contains chemical constituents that can be phototoxic, including bergapten, imperatorin, and xanthotoxin. Although some components of angelica have antioxidant ability, it is risky to use this ingredient on skin if your skin is exposed to sunlight (Sources: www.naturaldatabase.com; and Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, March 2007, pages 1737–1742).

Because cleansing cloths are designed to be used without water, you’ll be leaving this problematic plant on your skin, which isn’t helpful. Moreover, this product’s cost is high; if you want cleansing cloths you’ll spend less and get better results by choosing among those available from major drugstore brands, including Olay and Neutrogena.
