The original pink O-Gloss Intuitive Lip Gloss has now expanded to include a Noir version and a Gold version, each claiming to transform to your lip’s own perfect shade. Hardly an “intuitive” gloss, each version turns nearly the same shade on everyone, with slight differences depending on the natural color of your lips.
The original O-Gloss dispenses clear and turns a sheer shade of pink when applied to your lips. The Noir version dispenses as a dark blackberry color and turns to a sheer berry shade. The Gold version dispenses as a shimmering gold color and turns shimmering peach as you apply.
Each gloss has a smooth but somewhat sticky texture with a high-shine finish. Despite the novelty, there are several ingredients in this gloss that cause irritation (peppermint oil among them), and as such it is not recommended. See More Info to find out why peppermint oil is a problem for your lips or for skin anywhere on your face or body.
- Smooth texture and high-shine finish.
- Contains irritating ingredients (see More Info for details).
- The shades will not work for all skin tones.
- Doesn’t develop a personalized, unique color as claimed.
Peppermint oil is a significant skin irritant, and irritation of any kind can damage healthy collagen production, lead to or worsen dryness, and impair your skin’s ability to heal, whether it’s the skin on your lips or elsewhere (Sources: Inflammation Research, December 2008, pages 558–563; Skin Pharmacology and Physiology, June 2008, pages 124–135, and November-December 2000, pages 358–371; Journal of Investigative Dermatology, April 2008, pages 15–19; Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, March 2008, pages 78–82; Mechanisms of Ageing and Development, January 2007, pages 92–105; and British Journal of Dermatology, December 2005, pages S13–S22).
