Review Overview

This body lotion contains the AHA ingredient ammonium lactate but the formula's pH of 5.3 keeps it from working as an exfoliant. What you do get from this product is a decent mix of water-binding agents and a teeny-tiny amount of impressive skin-repairing ingredients like ceramides, phytosphingosine, and cholesterol. Had those beneficial ingredients been more prominent (and given this product's name, they should've been) this body lotion would earn a higher rating.

Otherwise, this has a creamy, somewhat slick lotion texture that spreads easily and leave a decidedly moist finish best for normal to dry skin. It's not the most elegant-feeling body lotion, but it is fragrance-free, which benefits all skin types because fragrance is a source of skin irritation.

Pros:
  • Leaves dry skin feeling smooth, soft, and protected from moisture loss.
  • Fragrance-free.
Cons:
  • The AHA ingredients cannot function as exfoliants due to the product's pH being outside the ideal range.
  • Despite the name, the formula contains only a small amount of ceramides and other state of the art repairing ingredients.

Decent

I bought this to exfoliate my skin. I was a bit nervous about using it on my face as a night lotion because it's meant for the body, but I am pleased with the result! My skin is smoother and clearer, did not have negative reaction to the lotion, and some dark pigmentation and blemishes are a bit faded. Putting the excess on other dry itchy parts of my body also worked. Would recommend. It does have a strong, "chemical" scent, and can sting a bit, so sensitive skinned people should be careful.
