These cleansing wipes are steeped a basic formula that does an OK job of removing excess oil and makeup, but if the solution isn't rinsed with water, it can leave a somewhat sticky finish behind. Not bad, but for certain you can find more elegant cleansing cloths.
As for the plant extracts, they're mostly of the beneficial variety, though these cloths do contain fragrance, which isn't the best to leave on skin (one more reason to rinse after using these towelettes).
What about the micellar part of the name? What does that mean? First, it's mostly hype and nothing special. Micellar involves micelles, which are a type of electrically charged particle. Micelle technology is simply one way of explaining how any detergent cleansing agent (which this product and thousands of other cleansers contain) combines with water and interacts with oils to clean any surface, including skin.
If you decide to try these inexpensive cleansing cloths, they're best for normal to oily or combination skin. But do check out our list of Best Cleansers for superior options that are also fairly priced.
These soft cloths help remove dirt and makeup, and are mild & gentle enough to use around the eyes and on the most sensitive skin.

Trader Joe's At-A-Glance
Strengths: Inexpensive; sunscreens provide sufficient UVA protection; good cleanser and shave cream.
Weaknesses: Limited options; body-care formulas contain irritating fragrant oils; Trader Joe's is better for groceries than skin care.
California-based specialty grocer chain Trader Joe's isn't the first place you may think of when shopping for skin care, and rightly so: the bulk of this store's inventory is, not surprisingly, foods and beverages. However, they've recently ventured into sun care and offer a couple of worthwhile, inexpensive sunscreens as well as a remarkable facial cleanser. The sunscreens from TJ's we recommend aren't knock-your-socks-off spectacular, but are quite the beauty bargain. If you have a Trader Joe's in your neighborhood, some of the sunscreens are definitely worth a look, especially if you have a family to cover from head to toe during summer months when more of us are outdoors for long periods of time.
