This cleanser did not seem to clean well, but the worst part was the smell. Yuck. Glad I bought a sample. That's a huge benefit of PC: samples.

On paper, this stuff is everything I'm looking for. When the CALM line was first introduced, I didn't hesitate to order a bottle once I finished my previous cleanser since I've had pretty good luck with the PC products I've tried. However, this cleanser seemed to do the exact opposite of its description; the redness around my nose and chin were exacerbated, my skin was dry and tight and became dull and sensitive. I tried using it a few more times in different ways (only at night, every three days, etc) but it was no use. It does a decent job at cleaning my beauty sponges though.

I use the entire Calm line morning and night. It has saved my skin (and sinuses). I have sensitive and breakout prone skin that has recently also become oily, and a sensitivity to perfumes/chemicals. Most products are either too harsh and severely dry out my skin, or are too perfumey and make me sick. This is the best of both worlds; an unscented cleanser that has finally balanced out my problematic skin. I have also tried the Hydrolite cleanser, but found it not nearly as effective at removing makeup. Please don't ever discontinue this cleanser!!

Comments about CALM Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin - 6.7 oz:

I wanted to compare this to the Hydralight and have to say that it is excellent. The ingredients are state of the art, it is lighter and silkier feeling than the Hydralight. I personally use it as a morning cleanser and the Skin Balancing at night. There is no irritation or stinging with this cleanser, and it does not leave the skin feeling dry at all.

Comments about CALM Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin - 6.7 oz:

I use this am and pm. I used to have to use two different cleansers-one to get my makeup off and one to be gentle in the am. This one does both. I do not break out with my acne prone skin and my rosacea is not bothered either. I am 59. Do not get rid of this product!

I've been using this cleanser for around almost a month now & at first I loved it!!! But now it is giving me painful pimples & bumps under my skin:~( as my skin is really sensitive to any kind of fragranced product. I'm really disappointed I was hoping this would work well:~(!!

The hydralight was so much better! I prefer a true gel with lather -- this is more like a milky gel with no lather, and it smells like wet dog. I will not repurchase.

Comments about CALM Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin - 6.7 oz:

I have used Paula's Choice products since the line was first launched in the 1990s. The Hydralight cleanser (it used to have a different name) was a revelation -- effective, with no negatives at all (especially neither irritating nor scented -- a miracle!). My two kids, now teenagers, have grown up using PC shampoo, cleanser, sun protection. But now you have cancelled my favorite cleanser! I tried this one (and, first, a Resist one) as replacements. I know they're not scented, but something in the ingredients has an odor, and the old Hydralight had NO ODOR. This is a deal-breaker for people with sensitivities. Also, after three days of using this cleanser, I started getting big swollen acne breakouts on my cheeks and chin :-(

Bring back Hydralight! Advertise it to families with autism: skin care with no irritants and no odor! (I bought half a dozen big bottles, so I have some time for finding a better replacement than any you've provided...)
