Additional Information

Why is it different?

CALM Redness Relief SPF 30 Mineral Moisturizer Normal to Dry Skin combines the gentlest mineral-based sunscreen ingredients in a creamy advanced formula. You will have beautiful hydrated skin with the improved appearance of fine lines, dullness, and uneven skin tone. Sensitive skin will be comforted and cushioned with soothing emollients and a skin-enriching texture.

Collapse
What does it do?
A redness-minimizing mix of soothing plant extracts, antioxidants, and peptides work to calm sensitive skin so it looks visibly younger and feels healthier. With daily use, skin will become less prone to temporary redness and visible signs of sensitivity, and, most important, may help to lower the risk of premature skin aging. The SPF 30 decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun if used as directed with other sun protection measures. Gentle enough even for skin prone to rosacea.

How to use

Use as the last step in your AM skincare routine. Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. If you don’t apply liberally, you will need to reapply every two hours after your skin is exposed to direct sunlight. If you plan to swim or perspire you must apply a water-resistant sunscreen.

    • Uneven Skin Tone

Best mineral sunscreen that I have ever used. My skin is fair and cool-toned with redness in areas - when I remove the sunscreen and makeup at night, the redness is gone, and my skin appears smoother with smaller pores. This is finely milled, so it does not appear pasty or settle into lines after application. Makeup goes on over it smoothly. Best of all, it does not migrate to my eyes, and I no longer have irritation and tearing, so my eye makeup stays intact! Has a mild fresh cucumber scent. Will definitely repurchase, and also check out the moisturizer in this line.

    Makes my eyes stream :(

Had high hopes for this, and sure enough, it doesn't irritate my skin at all. But unfortunately, it makes my eyes water constantly. Had to scrub it off just so I could see! If you have sensitive eyes, this product may be a problem. Thank goodness I found the Paula's Resist SPF Primer Serum because it doesn't irritate my skin OR my eyes.

As someone with dry sensitive skin it has been a real pain trying to find a moisturizer with SPF that works with my skin. I found this cream was super moisturizing, didn't irritate my skin and actually works wonders under makeup. I used to have to moisturize and use primer under makeup but I find this moisturizer makes a great base for my makeup!

Comments about CALM SPF 30 Moisturizer for Normal to Dry Skin - 2 oz:

I have tested countless formulas from PC and others and this one hits the spot. It's not irritating like a chemical sunscreen, yet it's not chalky like many other mineral sunscreens. It's anti-inflammatory ingredients have a noticeable effect on my skin. Not only does this stuff feel soothing and look smooth and glowy, it actually reduces redness from post-acne marks and active acne. My skin is usually thirsty for moisture because I use retin-a and benzoyl peroxide, and this satisfies dryness without looking oily. I wouldn't recommend this formula for anyone with oily skin--I'd try the one for combo/oily skin instead, because this might be too dewy. But for me, it's perfect!

Comments about CALM SPF 30 Moisturizer for Normal to Dry Skin - 2 oz:

I can't believe this doesn't get a higher rating. I only use mineral sunscreens on my face and I've tried many. This is my favorite! No white cast and it adds some glow. I used to use the Resist sunscreen for dry skin and that was a little too moisturizing for me, it was suggested to use this and it's just right. Some reviewers don't like the smell, but I don't notice it. I guess that's why there are so many different products because what's right for one is not necessarily right for another! HG for me!

Comments about CALM SPF 30 Moisturizer for Normal to Dry Skin - 2 oz:

While this is a great sunscreen on its own, it's simply not moisturizing enough for dry skin. The discontinued RESIST Cellular Defense SPF 25 was much creamier, more luxurious and more moisturizing than this product. Guys, if you're going to create a sunscreen for dry skin, make it more moisturizing like Cellular Defense.

Comments about CALM SPF 30 Moisturizer for Normal to Dry Skin - 2 oz:

Item arrived quickly and well-packaged but it has a bad smell. I have used the Resist Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25 for years and was really sad when it was discontinued. I don't think this is a good replacement for the Resist moisturizer andI hope they come out with a better replacement soon.

I want to love this product. I love how it feels. I love how it applies. I love how it protects. Really it's the perfect product for me! EXCEPT it literally REEKS. It's weird because the smell became stronger with time too. At first it was a subtle fishy smell but as long as I didn't put it on my nose or chin I could deal with it. Within days it was full-on rotten fish odor. I've been trying to use it up by putting it on my chest and back but I can't even take the order there. I'm also worried about other people thinking I smell like a rotten fish so I put on a TON of perfume the days I try to wear it. All in all, it sucks that I'm basically wasting the product on areas that aren't my face due to it's smell.

I bought this as a replacement for the Resist Daily Moisturizer with SPF25. It's not nearly as moisturizing, and despite its claims that it is for redness relief, it actually irritates my skin. It is not as emollient as the Resist either. I will use this until I can find a suitable replacement for the Resist.
