Extract from a flowering plant. Animal studies have shown that this plant has strong anti-inflammatory activity. Like all plant extracts, Boerhavia diffusa also has antioxidant ability (Sources: Immunopharmacology and Immunotoxicology, Volume 31, 2009, pages 277–287; Food and Chemical Toxicology, August 2009, pages 2,142–2,149). The leaves of this plant are a major source of the antioxidant quercetin (Source: Phytochemical Analysis, November-December 2005, pages 451–458).
