Irritants
Naturally occurring acid that has been proven effective for systemic and topical treatment of severe psoriasis vulgaris (Source: Journal of Investigative Dermatology, February 2001, pages 203–208); however, it can also cause serious skin irritation (Source: Dermatology, 1994, volume 188, number 2, pages 126–130). In small amounts it can be used as a pH adjuster in cosmetics.
