I use this after first using a cleansing balm for removing my makeup and sunscreen. It works fantastically! The only cleanser I've found without a strong scent, which does not irritate my skin or leave a residue.

This cleanser contains sodium laureth sulfate and thats very bad for skin, this ingredient should never be used on skin, it dried my skin and made it itchy and also gave me little bumps all over my face, so disappointed bc i really trusted this brand!!!!

Faithful to the EarthSourced Cleanser for years but decided to try this for the hotter weather months in combination with the Resist 2% BHA once every other day. Like many others have said, it really did not do much to remove make-up, and yet it completely stripped my skin barrier and I got irritated bumps all along my cheeks and jawline. The Sodium Laureth Sulfate is listed rather high in the product list so if you have any suspected skin sensitivities beware. After switching to Cerave my skin is much better.

Now bring back the rest of Hydralight, namely the toner!

This is the only Paula's cleanser I can really use - my skin is ultra sensitive, tending simultaneously toward very dehydrated and easily congested, and the products I use have everything to do with exacerbating or fighting those tendencies. It's a tricky balancing act. I have tried to like any of the other cleansers and had to give up after my skin resisted my efforts to be flexible. All the drier skin formulas leave my skin and especially my pores feeling less than clean; all the oily-combo skin cleansers leave my skin unbalanced, parched, or with a tight residue feeling. Hydralight leaves my skin feeling clean, refreshed, and not the slightest bit dried out or irritated. I've noticed that many Hydralight items are coming back and I am encouraged that Paula's Choice listens to customer feedback: now we need the TONER returned! My experience with Paula's toners have been similar as with cleansers: Hydralight fits the bill. There is a significant portion of loyal Paula's customers who will or cannot make the switchover to the Calm for Oily line, or the Resist for Oily or Skin Balancing lines. Please bring back the full Hydralight line -- we are really only missing the toner now! Please also continue to offer the Hydralight products that have been reintroduced and don't discontinue them again! Thank you.

I love the way it goes on - small drop and that's enough to lather around whole face (not sudsy or foamy, but perfect amount of lather).
Washes away all makeup (I only use non-waterproof makeup).
I feel like it really clears away anything on the skin.
Skin feels so clean and smooth after drying it, however moments later the dryness sets it. A mousturizer needed after using it.

I use this daily, especially at night before my bedtime routine. I have rosacea and dry patches-
On my skin, this is far better than the redness relief cleanser, which may clean my face but also intensifies the dry scaly patches. Current night routine: cleansing with this, then Resist Advanced Replenishing toner, then Skin Perfecting 2% BHA, then a variety of bedtime moisturizers (Resist intensive repair cream, most often. Sometimes CeraVe PM mixed with Resist Moisture Renewal Oil Booster, sometimes Skin Recovery Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum. I love this one- red container- but it is very expensive) (well, it all is, really- but worth it for my skin transformation) So I have no idea which of these has made the most difference overall-- but this cleanser never leaves my clean face feeling tight, dry or scaly. Perfect for me, anyway.

I use this product every single morning (I probably should also at night, but I typically don't). When I first got it about year ago I noticed improvement of my acne, fading of old acne redness, and fading of general redness within 24 hours. I ran out of it eventually and switched to another supposedly gentle cleanser to save money since it was given to me as a gift (it was a clinique product which I now realize every single clinique product I have ever used just DOES NOT work on my skin. It always makes it worse.) However after using that my skin broke out and was weirdly dry in places but also an oily T-zone/cheek area and acne prone? Thats basically how my skin is without use of any product. I only used that product for a couple weeks hoping it might clear up eventually but, I gave up and finally decided to get this product again and once again within 24 hours my skin saw improvement. Now its about a week into using this product (plus the spf moisturizer) and my skin has had no new breakouts, a general reduction in redness, and a clearing of older breakouts. It really is the only product I've ever used that seems to work perfectly with my skin (and I've tried a lot such as Clinique, Cera Ve, Estee Lauder, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, etc. etc.). If you have problems with a lot of products, have skin similar to me and have been trying products for year (I've been experimenting with products since I was like 14 and am now 21) then definitely give this one a go. It's a little expensive for sure, but like I said it's the only product that seems to take care of all my issues.

It pains me to write a negative review on anything PC, but this cleanser isn't working for me. I was using the resist perfectly balanced foaming cleanser and I wanted to try something new so I bought this. First off this is only foamy for about 2 seconds and it's like the cleanser disappears on my face. Not only is the foam gone but it feels like the cleanser is gone too. Forget about trying to remove your makeup with this because it's not happening. I felt like I was buying a new bottle of cleanser every month with the perfectly balanced foaming cleanser and I was hoping with this being a bigger bottle it would last longer, but I'm using 4 times the amount as before. I think it might be irritating my skin as well. I keep getting these breakouts on my cheekbones and my eye area is red and very irritated. I think my skin is just too oily for this because the oil just eats the cleanser away the second I use it. Maybe this would be better for someone with dryer and less sensitive skin. As for me I just placed another order for the perfectly balanced foaming cleanser. I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it, lol.

I have sensitive combination skin. For years I've been using the PC sensitive skin cleanser, which is lovely and hydrating but does absolutely nothing about removing make-up. I would remove makeup with a separate product and a cotton pad. My old cleanser finally ran out and I thought I'd try this one. I love it. It actually gets all the dirt and makeup off in one step, while still moisturizing. And fewer steps, really means less rubbing/pulling on my skin. I rub the cleanser into damp skin, let it sit a moment then gently wipe it off with a soft microfiber wash cloth. I have gone back over my skin with a cotton pad and makeup remover and nothing further comes off! Success.

Comments about HYDRALIGHT Cleanser - 16 oz:

I thought this would be great for the summer. I love the hydralight sunscreen moisturizer but this face wash is not for me. My skin can be really sensitive especially around the eye area and I've noticed this dries out my eyelids and begins to have a slight burn/irritation feeling if I wash my eyes with it. Also I'm not a fan of using my foreo luna with this wash, it just doesn't glide over the skin like it does with the calm face wash and I think it smells bad like hot plastic. I'll finish the bottle but will not repurchase, back to the calm face wash for me! Big fan of Paulas choice!
