The Perfect Sunscreen For Super Sensitive, Combination Skin!

Hydralight Shine-Free Mineral Complex SPF 30 works wonders for me as it provides adequate sun protection, lightly hydrates, is truly shine-free, leaves virtually no white cast even when applied liberally and causes no redness or irritation! I have very sensitive skin that went from oily to combination when I started using Retin-A and I can only use mineral-based sunscreens since chemical sunscreens severely irritate my skin. Most skin care products cause some form of redness on my face anyway, however this product does not. Plus, unlike many other mineral-based sunscreens, this product is not heavy or greasy.

From other reviews it seems this product had been discontinued then brought back due to customer demand. Please don't ever discontinue it again. I will never use anything else!

I am so disappointed with that product, I wanted to love it so bad! I have combo/dry/sensitive/dehydrated skin and this looked amazing because it's very light so it would not clog my pores while still hydrating my skin. Don't get me wrong, it does hydrate the skin, but it's not crazy moisturizing. My chin and cheeks, which are the driest part of my face, were still a little dry, but the rest of my face was okay. The real problem is that it broke me out so bad! The last time I used a product that broke me out like that it was a super drying acne treatment. My theory is that it has something to do with the whole sunscreen thing. I am sad because I really wanted to like it, but I guess it's just not for me. I may try the moisture boost line.

There's not much of a matte finish as I thought. You can definitely tell it's a sunscreen because it does its job, but it still leaves an oily residue.

        Comments about HYDRALIGHT Shine-Free SPF 30 - 2 oz:

It took me a long time to find a sunscreen that didn't feel awful on my face, but this is the one! As far as my skin is concerned, this is the Skin Balancing Invisible Gel but with SPF. Big thanks to PC customer service for helping me decide on this one; it's exactly what I needed.

          Comments about HYDRALIGHT Shine-Free SPF 30 - 2 oz:

I'm so happy they brought this back! I tried the Calming Redness SPF they suggested as the replacement but it was much to runny in texture. Hydralight is great because it goes on smoothly and doesn't make my face feel dry. There is a slight tint due to the mineral sunscreen, but it goes away quickly once you rub it in.

            Comments about HYDRALIGHT Shine-Free SPF 30 - 2 oz:

This product was my introduction to mineral sunscreens and I've never looked back (sorry Avobenzone!) I was practically in despair when it was discontinued. I've tried other mineral based sunscreens, available from drugstores, but nothing beats Hydralight's multi-purpose perfection. It serves as a combination moisturizer, serum, sunscreen and I would no more start my mornings without it than I would without coffee. It soaks into the skin beautifully without feeling sticky. There's a very very slight sheen immediately after applying and at first it does appear to make your skin look lighter, but both effects fade quickly enough. The feeling on the skin at first application is almost a fluffy, mousse-like sensation. It's not at all heavy or gloppy. You don't feel any of the greasiness that's common to chemical sunscreens - even the best formulated ones. THANK YOU, Paula's Choice, for bringing this product back!!!

                Comments about HYDRALIGHT Shine-Free SPF 30 - 2 oz:

My skin is very particular. It was used to only two moisturizers for 20+ years, then those moisturizers were discontinued. So maybe it's just because nothing else will work on my skin, that this product was awful for me. I have acne prone skin that isn't oily. Moisturizers that say they are for acne prone skin typically drying because they are for oily/combination skin, but my skin is normal to dry. Just acne prone. This lotion made the surface of my skin so rough, dry, flaky, and dull, even for days after I stopped using the product, and it even gave me wrinkles that I didn't have before which I really hope will go away! I AM 43 but typically look like I'm in my 30s because I'm wrinkle-free. I understand the importance of using SPF (I used it daily in my old lotions) but not if it makes me look ten or more years older. I would rather wear a big floppy hat all the time and take my chances with that alone, then use this product again, unfortunately.

                  Comments about HYDRALIGHT Shine-Free SPF 30 - 2 oz:

I feel like I've tried over 100+ mineral sunscreens and have spent countless amounts of Monday as well. This hydralight spf 30 is an absolute stunning formula that should NEVER be discontinued. Now I know why everyone was so upset when the hydralight range was taken away. I'm happy to see that Paula's choice listens to the feedback and ultimately brought it back. After trying this I'm definitely not going to be getting the hydralight cleanser as well. I believe they made a toner but I don't see that back. Anyway this spf 30 is lightweight, smooth, easy to rub in and does not leave a white cast. It feels lightweight and fresh and like it's full of water when it's applied. The finish is natural and makes the skin look radiant. This is absolutely something that I would purchase multiples of for future orders. Without a doubt the best mineral sunscreen formulation I have EVER found!

I can't thank you enough for bringing back the Hydralight and Moisture Boost product lines. I am so happy. These are the two cornerstone product lines that kept me with Paula's Choice since day 1, and they always provide the best results with absolutely no irritation or tightness, or dryness or redness....and they don't cause breakouts. These are absolutely the two best product lines that you offer (and the best products lines in any skin care line on the market). I'd like to say that I'll be ordering these items right away, but I have a little bit of those products already stocked up from when you announced that you were discontinuing these two lines. Rest assured, when my supply runs out, I will be ordering these products regularly, as I always have done. Please don't ever stop selling these two wonderful product lines.

                    Comments about HYDRALIGHT Shine-Free SPF 30 - 2 oz:

I was excited to try this after being disappointed in the Redness Relief moisturizer for not doing anything for my skin, but this was even worse! It is very liquidy and tricky to apply, although the initial white cast goes away in a few minutes after application. However, it did not dry matte at all and kept me very shiny throughout the day. The product itself actually made my skin dehydrated and tight, did not moisturize at all, and it just felt like putting water on my skin. A hydrating primer actually did more for my skin than the moisturizer, and it was a very expensive sunscreen, although I much prefer other sunscreens than this one. If you want a really matte finish, this will not do it, and if you have skin that needs a good moisturizer (even if you have oily skin), this is not it either. It was super disappointing after all the hype around it.
