Unpleasant Taste & Disappointing Customer Service

Comments about LIPSCREEN SPF 50 - 4.40 gr:

This lip balm has the typical chemical "sunscreen" smell and taste that you find in any drugstore brand. I was hoping it would truly be fragrance free but it was not. If you are sensitive to this smell and/or simply dislike it, do not waste your money.

I hoped to return this balm and exchange it for the lip & body balm, which I like very much. The lip & body balm is more expensive, so I fully expected to pay the difference. I called Customer Service and was disappointed when the rep said she couldn't help me over the phone. Instead, I needed to go online, fill out a return form, and mail my product back in a bubble wrap envelope. Knowing that I would never make the effort to buy a bubble wrap envelope to return a tube of balm, I simply threw the product away. Lesson learned.

Comments about LIPSCREEN SPF 50 - 4.40 gr:

This is the highest sun protection you can get while still being cosmetically elegant. I lost my first tube of this the day after I got it and wasted no time in ordering more! It's that good. The only issue is that the chemical filters aren't the best available. Avobenzone is stabilized by octocrylene, but both of them, as well as the remaining octisalate degrade with light exposure, penetrate the skin, and are possibly harmful. I'd prefer either a purely mineral formulation or one with Tinosorb and/or Uvinul. I'll be happily repurchasing this one until that dream comes true, though!

I use chapstick on a daily basis and bought this to try out with my last order. This has become my new favorite chapstick. It leaves a nice even coat when applied and I love the spf. I've also found that with this chapstick I don't have to apply it as often as my old ones.

This is the best lip balm I've ever used. I didn't know my lips could NOT peel, until I used this. No peeling, I'm quite happy. I do wish there was a non-SPF version I could apply at night.

Outstanding as a lip moisturizer and protectant. However, I have found it to be an AMAZING eye area moisturizer as well! I apply my routing skincare and my eye cream. Then, I apply this over the moisturizer around my eye area. It seems to seal in the moisture in my typically dry eye area that is prone to wrinkles and sensitivity and the added sun protection is a bonus! Never irritates my eye area. Also, I can re-apply during the day over my makeup and it still works great.

This is a win-win product and I am sold!

Comments about LIPSCREEN SPF 50 - 4.40 gr:

I've used avobenzone sunscreens on my face in the past but they always led to skin rashes. So I didn't try this in-part avobenzone-based lipscreen for the longest time. But I simply couldn't find another lipbalm out there with adequate and stable UVA and UVB protection that either didn't add a white layer (physical blockers) or that didn't have any fragrance or flavor added to it. So I finally tried this Paula's Choice Lipscreen. And I'm so glad I did. To my surprise, it doesn't irritate my lips/skin (knock on wood). And it's moisturizing enough for my lips. It also acts as a nice balm/primer underneath my lipsticks without changing the color of my lipsticks. I've read some reviews talking about a bad taste to this balm but I don't taste anything (keeping in mind that I'm not one to lick my lips often). Overall, this is an excellent SPF lipbalm for me.

Comments about LIPSCREEN SPF 50 - 4.40 gr:

I wish I could love this product. It is great that it has SPF 50. But to me it is a standard waxy feeling lip balm. I do not feel it is especially moisturizing. It does not have a nice shine on bare lips. I used to use a PC lipstick product in the invisible colour. It did only have SPF15, but I used it all the time, quite long lasting, and I would reapply regularly. And, it had a lovely very soft shine and was very moisturizing. I am lucky to have a nice colour in my lips and could wear just this and it looked lovely. The SPF 50 lipscreen is not nearly as nice. I would love it if they would bring back the other one, just the invisible colour.

I have chronically chapped lips that have greatly improved since I started using the Lip and Body Treatment Balm by Paula's Choice. I bought this for daytime use for the sunscreen. It doesn't work as well as the treatment balm in terms of moisturizing but it isn't irritating and it does moisture just not as much as the balm. It does have a metal taste to it. I don't know why that it. It's a must have for me to prevent sun damage.
