    • Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (water-binding agent), Glycerin (slip agent), Polysorbate-20 (thickener), Ethoxydiglycol (solvent), Epilobium Angustifolium (Willow Herb) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract (anti-irritant), Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Extract.     Directions: Apply to damp skin and shave as usual, rinsing the blade between strokes. This gel formula does not foam or lather. Rinse or splash gel from skin after shaving. Follow with Paula's Choice Skin Relief Treatment, a Paula's Choice sunscreen with SPF 15 or greater for daytime, or moisturizer for nighttime.

    This product provides an effective barrier and is indeed soothing. It is best suited for women's legs, rather than a man's beard. It "rinses" acceptably under running water on legs, but does not "splash" of the face easily. In fact, it is tedious work trying to do so. I suggest the smooth finish conditioner for male customers, which is a great shave product.

    Close Comfort Shave Gel
    This gel is great for sideburns or anywhere you need to see while you shave. Try Silk Mist Moisturizing Body Spray as a pre-shave treatment.

    Excellent
    I'm surprised to see so many mixed reviews for the Close Shaving Gel. I get a much better shave on my face with it than with anything else I've tried. My skin used to feel so dry after shaving but not anymore!

    Pass on This Product
    I love Paula's other products - makeup, body lotion, facial moisturizers, hair care - you name it. However, this one didn't seem to protect my legs at all. Might prevent dryness, but not effective for a smooth, comfortable shave. Strange but true tip: personal lubricant is the best shave gel I've tried (Just don't tell anyone how you got those smooth legs). ;)

    My husband, my sister and I all agree that it is much easier to shave when using this great gel. He used to use foaming shave cream and now he thinks foam is "stupid".

    Good
    This is a very good shaving gel if you have very sensitive skin, except you seem to need to pile it on thick to avoid cuts. I tried Neutrogena's Razor Defense for men and I like it just as much (it contains no skin irritants besides "fragrance" which is the last ingredient) and it's cheaper. I do appreciate the moisturizing and anti-irritation properties of this gel though.

    Fights Irritation, But Not Very Lubricating
    Wonderful at fighting irritation, which wouldn't occur in the first place if gel was more lubricating. I mix it with Zirh, which is very slick.

    I LOVE this gel!!! :-) :-) :-) Even with the recent formulation change (water first, instead of aloe), it still rocks :-) Works GREAT on my sensitive skin :-)

    Pretty Much Perfect
    I've been using this product for many years now. I no longer even know what else is available on the market, because this shaving gel leaves nothing to be desired. Perfect texture for shaving, great price, non-sensitizing, no fragrance, even a very subtle bluish color that appeals to the senses. It's really hard to imagine how it can be improved upon. Thanks Paula. :)

    i was hoping for a clean shave instead had to make
    its ok very soothing it sucks its too light hopefully paula will come out with a shave cream aveeno shave gel is even better this or turbo shave gel at woodridgelab.com

    Was our favorite...
    Performed better when the first ingredient was aloe, now its more diluted and not as effective - was a great shaving gel, too bad!

    Unremarkable...
    I've been wowed by every other PC product, so this was a disappointment. A very basic shaving gel... there are more interesting things on my husband's side of the bathroom shelf.     Great Shave Gel
    Gel does an amazing job of creating a barrier between the blade and my skin. While it does not create a nice lather like Aveeno did, I seem to be getting a much better shave with this product. I will continue to use this!
