After adjustment, great!
At first I didn't like it - I thought it was drying and didn't seem to work well. But I discovered the drying was another product, and actually this was not contributing to that problem.
As far as working well, I found that I can use remarkably little on a flat cotton pad (I can see how soaking a pad or using a ball would be very wasteful), and if I hold it still for a few moments before wiping, it can remove even the waterproof mascara. I turn the pad over and use the other side for the other eye!
What I love about it most is that for the first time in 40 years those annoying little raised white bumps under my eye are going away, I guess I was feeding them with mineral oil products.
Yes, it's a bit expensive, but experiment to see how little you can use. I wear heavy eye makeup almost every day of my life, and I got 2 and half months out of my first bottle.

I am using my first bottle of Gentle Touch Makeup Remover and my skin loves it. And there is no stinging at all. I am going through it very quickly though which makes it expensive. I read a tip in another review that suggested putting some in the cap and just using my fingers rather than a cotton pad. Hopefully that will work. If not, this will be my first and last bottle. Wont buy it again
I often wear a full face of makeup, so I purchased this remover thinking that it would remove everything and I'd need only one product to do the job. It sadly doesn't. It's great for removing my foundation, but when it comes to removing mascara, its a miss. I still have to use another makeup remover to get off my mascara. I won't be purchasing another. I've tried dozens of other makeup removers and nothing does the job this one does and without irritation. Cleaning my face has always taken more time than all my other facial care put together until I found this stuff.

Doesn't work for me.
I love most of the products from Paula's Choice, but this one...UGH. I am giving this a 2 star, because it did remove my eyeshadow. However, I use L'Oreal's Voluminous waterproof mascara, and this makeup remover did nothing to the mascara. Thank goodness I only got the sample size to try. I really like this product but I've been using Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover by Neutrogena instead and I find it's as good and less costly than this product, more readily available at department stores, drugstores, grocery stores. Skip the cotton ball
I won't use anything but Gentle Touch! To make it last a long time and work most effectively at eye makeup removal, shake a few drops into the cap. Dip a clean finger into it and swirl your finger over your lids and lashes. After a few seconds wipe off with tissue. Voila! Done!

This product is non-irritating, fragrance-free, and effective. It does dissolve long-lasting makeup quite completely. But it is very pricey for 118ml.

Pleasantly surprised!
I like to wash my eye makeup off as I wash the rest of my face but since buying the Clarisonic needed to find a good eye makeup remover to remove eye makeup before using my Clarisonic. I have tried several over the years and even recently that are never able to remove every trace of mascara. I'm no Tammy Faye Baker but I am a mascara girl. Plus, most removers sting my eyes. Upon reading reviews on this site I decided to buy Paula's Makeup remover. It dissolves like magic! It doesn't leave a oily residue nor does it sting my eyes. I love this product! I gave it 4 stars only because I'm still not able to get off every trace of mascara BUT I've never even met a 5 star eye makeup remover so this is still tops. Buy this product, you won't be disappointed.

bottle too small
I have been very satisfied with this product. My only complaint is, like the toner, the bottle is too small. It seems before I know it, I'm running out of it and having to make another purchase. I wish both products came in a bottle similar in size to the facial cleanser. Seems it would also be more earth friendly.

Great Makeup Remover
I bought this to remove the very long lasting lip paint that I use every day. Nothing gets this lip paint off except very few make up removers all of which leave an oily residue. This remover takes all the lip color off and does not leave an oily residue. It also removes eye makeup well. Since I wash my face with liquid purpose or a drugstore brand of the same product, I always follow with that. Together they take off all the makeup that I want off. Thanks Paula for a terrific product. Also it is reasonably priced as are all of her products. It is just silly to spend a lot of money for such a product.

I love this makeup remover
This is the best I've ever used. I put it on a cotton pad, hold it for 15 seconds on waterproof mascara eyelashes and it wipes off. I follow with the cleanser and the entire skin care system and my skin looks and feels great. Other removers I've used left even my eyeballs oily so when I put my contacts in after overnight, my vision was still blurred from the oil. I now have clear vision so Paula's products even help eyesight. :)

economy size please
This is a good product. My skin is dry and sensitive and it is a good makeup remover and cleanser. I would appreciate it being available in a larger size, at a discount: for example, make an 8 oz. size for $20. Customer Service Response: Thanks for your comments! We've considered this, but ultimately decided against it. Why? The extra amount of preservatives needed to keep a larger size of this product free from bacteria and molds would be too potentially irritating to use around the eye area. Yes, some women may go through a larger size faster, but we also have to account for those who may purchase the "jumbo" size yet use it occasionally rather than daily.

I haven't tried this product, but from the reviews I am assured that it is the same as all other cleansers I've tried in that they all sting my eyes and/or use with cotton is an 'irritational' mess. I've found that only the gentlest (not strong enough for makeup removal) cleansers such as Cetyphil or CeraVe and a wet washcloth are what really work. So I first use one of those before washing rest of face with Paula's Skin Recovery Cleanser.

I tried this eye makeup remover and although it worked, I thought is was too expensive so I went back to my old product (Almay Eye Makeup Remover Pads). Yikes! Paula's product is so far superior that I am now convinced it is the best product out there for removing mascara and having nice soft lashes the next morning.

Removes eye makeup!
I've tried other removers and even though it advertised 'gentle' it was far from it AND it didn't remove eyeliner or waterproof mascara. This does. Every bit of that dark liner and stubborn mascara. Plus, my eyes feel refreshed. My only gripe: The price. I wish it was under 10 bucks, but, since it delivers, I will splurge on this. Excellent and highly recommended!

Disappointed with Gentle Touch make-up remover
I have been using Paula's products for the past several years. I decided to order the Gentle Touch make-up remover after using another liquid make-up remover for years. it removes mascara and foundation residue but it leaves a slimy film on my skin and irriates ever so slightly my eyes. I have to use the make-up remover then rinse my face with water. Disappointed with this product of Paula's but like everything else I have.

My skin is sensitive which is why I like Paula's Choice. I found that this was wonderfully silky but it did sting a bit.

Works but too runny
I was using Physician's Formula lotion remover and it worked fine, but decided to order this when ordering some other Paula's products. I cannot us it as described using a cotton ball or pad because my eyes are very sensitive to any fibers..and they WILL get in my eye. So, I use my fingers (gently!) and end up pouring most of the product down the drain. If this were a lotion product it would be great but I'm going back to the PF.

While I do like this product; it's better than any other biphase remover I've used; I do have a couple complaints. First, the price. It is one of the more pricier items for the amount you get. The bottle is small and doesn't last long; you have to soak the cotton pad with the remover. Secondly, you do have to wipe a bit to remove all of the mascara (especially the lower lashline) I try to minimize this by holding the soaked pad on my eye for a about 30 seconds before wiping but I still find that I have to rub too much for my liking. I will repurchase as I haven't found anything better. IMO, the remover was MUCH better before the reformulation and I wish they'd bring it back.

Removes makeup without tugging skin
The bi-phasic formula (remember to shake before use!) cleans most makeup without tugging skin, specially around the eyes. Very waterproof mascara may require 2 passes for complete removal. It does not irritate skin and the product lasts: a little goes a long way.

Does it matter if I use Gentle Touch Makeup Remover before or after cleansing?
This really depends on personal preference. Using the remover prior to cleansing allows you to gently loosen eye makeup, mascara, and/or foundation prior to cleansing, and allows the remover to be rinsed off with the cleanser. Using the remover afterwards allows you to see where makeup may have "stuck" or where you may have missed with your cleanser. If you opt to use Gentle Touch Makeup Remover after cleansing, it is best to rinse with water to make sure all the product and makeup are gone.
