Awesome mascara!
Soooo happy I tried this mascara! Smearing and smudging has been such a problem for me recently I've had to stop wearing mascara. I though I'd give this a try and so glad I did! A must try if most mascaras leave black smudges under your eyes by mid morning!

Doesn't smudge
I have a terrible time with mascara giving me raccoon eyes but this one doesn't. It just gives me nice defined lashes and lasts all day. Like some other reviewers, I find that it does tend to get clumpy, but usually after only 2-3 months of use. When this starts to happen, I solve the problem by wiping off the wand on the edge of the tube and then wiping off the tube periodically.

Not Great for Me
I have loved all the products that I have purchased here and have been very grateful to have discovered Paula's Choice This one unfortunately does not work for me. I suspect my lashes are too thin because this mascara clumps badly on me. I can use a very small amount of it over my usual mascara as a second coat and it will look okay but I must be careful to not overdo it. I will try the other PC mascara next time. After reading many of the reviews on here, I find myself perplexed over the number of comments made regarding clumping. I have not found an inordinate amount of clumping at the end of my brush and the amount that I do have is actually a benefit. Here's why: I use the excess to get to the corners of my lashes, plump up the tips, and as a bonus, you can dab a tiny dot along the edge of your lash line which actually creates the illusion of a liquid liner. I for one hope they never change the formula because this is the best I've found to date.

Good mascara/Bad packaging
I was enjoying the mascara, until after using for only two weeks, the tube broke. This is a good product but the packaging needs to be improved before I'll buy it again. Hard to get along with....
I used the lush mascara before and was very content with it. It was discontinued.
I like this mascara but detest the brush, container and application.
Whenever I pull out the brush there will be a lot of excess product on it. It blots out everywhere. Pushing the brush back into the container, a rim of product is left on the edges.
I never thought I would have to say that a product has to much pigment. This one does. If you have success in applying it, this is a really eminent product, while any small mistake will cause a mess. The slightest touch of product on your eyelid before it has dried is impossible to get rid of whithout ending up with a black eye.
I am not interested in mascara wearing off on my below lashes. It looks ugly. I therefore often pull the lower lasches a little between two fingers to get rid of excess product. With the Great Big Lashes my fingers are ready for a finger print test, using only the excess product from my lower lashes.

Smudges
I really wanted to like this mascara. It is so comfortable all day. However, I find applying it very frustrating and time consuming. It smudges unless absolutely dry. love the product - but it broke on me
I love this mascara, it did everything it said it would..until the container broke on me. I hope they fix the container design so I can purchase the product again. Applicator Broke
I like the brown/black mascara but was surprised when the applicator broke. Used up the product even though application was compromised. A GLOB

grreat mascar - BAD tube design
I would rate the mascara a 4 - I think it is a a little on the thicker side but that is why I like it. However, I have had 3 tubes now crack on me right under the area where the lid screws on. The first time I thought it was just me putting it on to tight. I have read a few other reviews where this happened to other consumers as well. In Dec. I had one break on me again, PC was quick to send me a replacement and said they knew about the issue. My replacement just broke on me just now!! It's not like I can run to grocerty store and buy more!! I'm going to have to start looking for a new mascara I guess. 2 tubes cracking in 2 months is unacceptable. But I still LOVE PC prods for the most part. This is teh only prod I have every seen with a poor packaging design. The tube needs to be made stonger - there is obvisouly a weak point or "cracking" point since all 3 have cracked in the exact same area. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Is there a trick?
To applying without clumps? I have used Mabelline for years and wanted to try your product, but I cannot apply without large unworkable clumps. Poor tube design
I loved this mascara, that is until I went to use it yesterday and the plastic at the narrow end where you pull the wand out broke off such that it is now attached to the lid part of the tube. The result is a wand that is covered in mascara goop because the narrowed end which is supposed to clean the wand as you pull it out is no longer intact with the tube. I have to throw it out. Simply the Best
I have tried several mascaras but I always come back to this one. It does everything I need and more. This mascara not only lengthens and thickens but it leaves my lashes feeling soft. The best part is that it does not smudge and unfortunately most do. I just ordered three more and I hope that you never discontinue this mascara as it's the best out there.

wonderful, the best mascara I ever tried
I needed new mascara and had previously used Epic Lengths, which I liked but was discontinued. I was concerned over the reviews of Great Big Lashes, citing clumping and a delicate wand. I tried it anyway and WOW am I impressed. It is of a thinner consistency than Epic Lengths but I found that made the mascara go on so easily! I did notice I needed to make sure I did not try to apply too much to the lashes at once to prevent clumping. But with a light application I easily got the longest lashes I have ever had with only ONE coat. I found the long wand made the mascara easier to apply and, per the reviews, was careful not the bend it when putting back in the case. It stayed put all day with no smudgine and flaking, yet was easier to remove completely than Epic Lengths (I use PC make up remover). If I could give it 6 stars I would.

With a little TLC, an extraordinary mascara
I can see why some reviewers have felt this mascara is clumpier than the usual PC quality. But, with a little extra tlc, it becomes a really amazing product. All you need is one of those disposable mascara wands they give you in department stores. After applying the Great Big Lashes mascara, immediately use a clean wand to redistribute the product.Always wash the wand for next time. You will not be disappointed. This mascara stays on , smudge free, through my hot yoga class and cardio workouts, but comes off easily with any remover.The black/brown is perfect for my fair complexion--not to garish, more subtle but stil WOW lashes.

Great Big Lash Mascara
I want to say how much I love Paula & her work, so it pains me to say that I was disappointed in her Great Big Lashes Mascara. When I received the mascara, the brush was bent and liquid clumpy. Customer Service, who are great, immediately sent me another one. Much, much better!! But then I bent the brush within a week when I put it back into the tube. I just gave up on it. So my suggestion is for a shorter/sturdier wand. Thanks!

Not perfect, but very good
I gave this mascara four rather than five stars because I have had better luck building volume with other mascaras, such as those from Maybelline. Also, I find the large, straight brush difficult to use on the corner lashes. The reason that it has four stars, and the reason I will be buying it again, is that it stays put better than any mascara I have ever used, bar none. I have oily skin, and I have had problems with every other mascara I have tried smudging by the end of the day (even those that have gotten smiley faces from Paula), but not this one.

Disappointed
I had been using Paula's Lush Mascara for ages. When it was discontinued :-( I tried Great Big Lashes and it was the only disappointment I've ever had with any of Paula's products. FAB Mascara!
Possibly the best mascara I've ever used, and I've used a ton of them! Goes on well, stays on great all day, no telltale smudges on the upper lids by mid-day, but comes off easily with Paula's cleansers. Will buy this again!

Great Big Lash mascara- great big dissapointment
After great appreciation for the multiple qualities and effects of PC products I have been horrendously disappointed with the Great Big Lash mascara. It DOES flake & smudge & isn't fully removable with paula's or neutrogena's makeup removers. Don't chance it! Why PC would DC a mascara that was amazing, I will never understand. Wet, gloppy & packaging stinks
Only bought this because my favorite, Lush Mascara, apparently is discontinued. Cheap plastic tube doesn't thread properly and the mascara leaves clumps in my lashes. You won me over!
I detest mascara, but I love Great Big Lashes! I'm really amazed at how much longer and thicker my eyelashes are, and how pretty my eyes are with it! Best of all, the lashes are soft, without that crunchy or sticky feeling that's so unpleasant on my allergy-prone eyes. I used to save mascara for special occasions, but this one I've started wearing every day!

Hi Paula. Great job on the mascara. I have been using Lancome definicils for at least fifteen years. I think yours is great I just wish it went on a bit silkier like the Lancome. That is the reason I didn't give it a five star. Otherwise great. I will continue to buy it your mascara. Thanks!

Too many clumps
I am a huge fan of Paula's products, but I have to agree with the clump complainers. This mascara does clump up in sticky wads and it is difficult to apply because there is always a huge clump at the end of the wand that gets all over my eye area. As for all the other Paula products I use - they are fabulous!

I absolutely love most of Paula's Choice products. This is the first product that I am not happy with. It clumps for me no matter how many coats I put on! Disappointed
I am so disappointed. I've been happily using Paula's products for awhile now & was excited when this product came out. This mascara has been such a problem child for me. First, I can't get it off. Several swabs with Paula's makeup remover is just the beginning. I then hold a warm washcloth over my eyes (3-4 xs) which removes most of the rest. I may try a 3rd step (lotion), tho I often wake up raccoonish. I have also had it clump, smear terribly & hard to get off smeared eyelids.

Great but wish it came in darker brown
This is a really good mascara. Easy to use, goes on well without flakes or clumps. Makes the lashes look long and thick with a couple of coats. My only complaint is that the brown is too light and black would be way too dark for me. I wish it came in dark brown or black/brown. If it did, I'd have given it 5 stars.

I loved Paula's Lush Mascara and sad it's no longer available. I will not buy Great Big Lashes again. It comes out of the tube with big clumps on the brush, it's difficult to apply because it then leaves big clumps on your lashes. Very disappointed in this product. Gooey
Definitely made my lashes longer and fuller - but not in a good way. The stuff was overly thick coming out of the tube, so I wiped some off on a tissue. It still went on too "lengthening" amounted to noticeable clumps at the tips. I was able to brush most of it off, so I didn't need to remove all my makeup and start over. I would have returned it, but I got it at 50% off with free shipping, and the shipping cost and hassle of going to the post office was not worth my time.

Love the Mascara. . . .but
I really like this mascara, it worked very well for me. The mascara does not flake off and is water resistant. I ordered it in brown, however, can you make this product in a "true brown" for us fair skinned blondes and redheads? Tube broke
The formula seems great but I can't use it as the tube broke the first time I used it. Not suer if it is a defective tube but it split almost all the way around right under where the top screwes in :(

Please change the brush
This mascara has pros and cons:
Pros:The brown shade is beautiful! So many brown mascaras look black or grayish, this one is a perfect deep brown. It doesn't smudge and comes off easily when I'm ready.
Cons:The brush does not separate lashes well, and I'm a very experienced makeup wearer. The plastic brushes like Cover Girl Volume Exact has do a much better job. This formula is too thin and needs way too many coats to build volume.
I'll stick to my Cover Girl Volume Exact for now.

Great Big Lashes mascara
An excellent mascara that creates lash volume,definition, and does not smudge or clump. It stays on. Easy to remove. I dare say it gives Lancome's mascaras a sun for their $$...for a whole lot less.

container issues
I like this mascara - makes lashes thick and long although it needs to be applied carefully to avoid clumps. However, I will not buy it again as the container broke after normal usage (kept in a make up bag)- and the same thing happened with the Lush mascara that I brought previously.

Love Love this mascara
I've tried dozens of mascaras so I can say without a doubt this is my all time favorite! My lashes are long and thick looking all day long without a flake or a smudge. Wish I didn't have to wear mascara at all so for me this is as close to perfect as a mascara can get.

I never write product reviews, but this one deserves a review. It's simply the best. It doesn't smudge or flake (even after 12 plus hours) and it gives me beautiful long lashes. It also comes off with ease. I love it!
Every other mascara (drugstore or department) I've tried would smudge or flake leaving me with racoon eyes. Please don't ever discontinue this!

Stellar formula
My current favorite mascara. Provides incredible lushness, applies so well people notice your eyelashes rather than the mascara. When removing the wand, a hunk of mascara tends to cling to the tip of the brush that needs to be wiped off before application. I used to skip mascara on many days, but this is so beautiful I won't go without it.

As Promised...
I got long, full lashes with ZERO clumps. The look is something I'll coin the phrase "Amplified Natural" for. In otherwords, it provides enough oomph to make your eyes "pop", but if you're looking for a very dramatic effect, this probably won't please you. I wore it all day in a kitchen and I had no flaking or streaking. Definitely a repurchase.

Not what I expected
Although I LOVE most of Paula's products, this mascara was a disappointment. After the second week of use, it started clumping and I had to use a brush to brush out the clumps. I switched back to Epic Lengths, goes on much smoother.

Love it!
Have long lashes so love mascara, and have tried almost everything out there. This has now replaced my previous favourite Lancome mascaras. Lashes stay soft. Not clumpy or flaky if you don't try to put it on too thick, too fast.

Really good stuff

Very Disappointing.
I have to say I was very disappointed in this mascara. True, it does not flake and if I lucked out on the application, it did look good from a distance but it was nearly impossible for me to apply without it looking like spider legs or smearing all over and messing up my eye shadow. At first, I thought it was because it was new and there was too much product on the brush, but as time went on, it continued to look the same even if I remove some product from the brush. I would not recommend this product nor would I buy it again.

No Smudge Wonder
This is the only mascara I've ever used that lived up to the claim of not smudging. Love it! Only problem: it does clump, and more so as you use up the product.

Just ok - not great or big!
On my lashes this mascara is nothing special. Lashes look dull, and it is not great at separating lashes. I have reasonably long lashes but they aren't full. I've used better mascara. It doesn't flake but it's not a powerhouse.

Can't say I would recommend this one. Even on first application, it was sticky, flaky, and clumped; it does not go on easily or smoothly. The one thing I do like about it is the curling action. I went back to using the Lush Mascara which I have pretty good results with.

I just decided to give Paula a chance in the mascara department, and this mascara was the WORST I have ever used! it clumped, and was gooey, and impossible to put on. Three attempts later and it went into the trash. Stick with Lancome Hypnois! Now thats a quality mascara!

Great Big Lashes is RIGHT!
Two days ago, I started using your Great Big Lashes Mascara and I am IN LOVE! My lashes are sparse and straight. In the past, no matter how I curled them or applied mascara they always went straight. Great Mascara!

Finally!! An awesome brush with a mascara that works!! I've been on a mission looking for a mascara, I have had problems with Definicils, too wet, Estee Lauder, too goopy, and countless others to name. I have very long lower lashes and average upper lashes but I'd always have to use 2 different mascaras due to the brush being too big for the bottom and wouldn't define, lengthen, separate and give me the volume I'd like for the upper lashes. Mascara Queen
I'm 54 and one of the first make-up items I used as a teenager was mascara. I've seen/ used them all. I'm blessed with very good lashes so I've always played them up. I'm happy with this new formula even though I have to be careful of getting a smudge while applying due to length of lashes. (yep, it makes them that long) If you build coats slowly, you can acheve better results. No clumps,no flakes here. Some were talking about lashes sticking together but that could be from trying to build up coats too quick. Comes off easy, just use a bit more Pauls's cleanser.

Not only does it not create volume, but it clumps, flakes, and I seem to get mascara everywhere on my eye besides my lashes. I love Paula's skin care, but her makeup products leave something to be desired. From one makeup artist to another, keep working on your formulas.

Long Lashes
This is an excellent choice for those who want thick and full lashes, the finished look is natural, yet emphasised and soft lashes, it holds up all day, removes easily and doesn't clump. What more is there to say, except don't bother with time consuming searches and trials elsewhere.

No Clumps!
This is the first mascara I have ever used that absolutely did not clump! My lashes stay soft and they are long. I only wish it curled/thickened them a little more. However, I am going to try using an eyelash curler. Thank you for keeping women from looking like racoons!

After 2 days of use I couldn't take the flakiness of this mascara in my eyes. I will be returning it to go back to Paula's Lush Mascara.

Lancome, watch out!
I've been a tried and true Lancome mascara user for about 20 years -- I tried Paula's on a whim and, I must say, it's better than Lancome -- goes on lighter/less bulky, doesn't clump, flake or irritate! great job---thanks Paula!

Disappointed
As a few others have said, this does clump and cause lashes to really stick together. Much prefer Paula's two other mascaras. A BIG disappointment.

No Smudges or Smears!

Great Mascara
I just started using Paula's products. I have spent $$$$ for all kinds of lotions and potions throughout the years and have been pleasantly supprised at the quality of her products. This mascara is no exception. Really made my eyes pop and the price is incredible. I am use to paying 20-25 dollars for mascara. This is better than any others that I have tried.

Really That Good
This is a home run. I tried other Paula mascaras and they fell short, but this one is simply great. Even the $20 mascaras are not this good. It build long and thick lashes and does not budge. Holds up for hours. The bonus is it removes really easily with eye make up remover. My only complaint is you have to wipe the brush off really well or it will glop on. Also, wish it was made in Taiwan. Try this you won't be disappointed.

I don't write many reviews but if you are like me and looking for a awesome mascara, look no further. This is a wonderful product and really does make your lashes look longer and thick. I work outside in all kinds of weather and this does not smear or run when it gets wet, but at the end of the day comes off easily with Paula's Skin Balancing Cleanser. Love this!

Looks great some days
This mascara will clump one day & then look great the next. After the first two days of wear, I was singing praises! Then it began to clump after every other use. By evening, it is flaking and not holding up. Some days a few applications will do the trick but on others more is needed. Just when it seems you need another application, you apply it and it's too much! I would love this mascara if it was consistent :) I would like to see an adjustment to the mascara tube. It should be taking more off of the wand than it does.

I am most impressed with the deep dark color this mascara imparts on my lashes with minimal effort. I have never experienced such an eye popping mascara. It does take some time to fully remove at night, but to me that is worth it for the effect during the day!

a rare disappointment
This product was a rarity for me-a real disappointment. I agree with some of the other reviewers. This lengthens but lacks volume. It also takes too many coats before it delivers as advertised. I think her previous mascaras are both superior to this one. Sorry, Paula.

This mascara is fantastic!
I'm 45, so I've had about 32 years of trying to find a mascara that made me happy. I've tried almost everything on the market under $15; even the ones that Paula has given a best buy rating have left me less than thrilled. This mascara finally lives up to my expectations. It goes on much better, with no clumping and full coverage of even the lower lashes. Better yet, it lasts without flaking under my eyes, which I've never been able to achieve without a waterproof formula (which I avoid). It's easy to remove as well. I'm particularly happy that it comes in brown. One thing: it takes a little longer than some to dry. But it's worth the wait.

Maybe I am not really a mascara expert but I couldn't master this formula. For me, it was clumpy and flaky so it will have to go back. I really wanted to like this but sadly it was not for me. I'll have to return to the less problematic Mabelline Soft and Full.

This is an ok mascara for the money. It does make my lashes look thicker and longer, but sometimes I have clumps. It isn't hard to remove at all. I use the Skin Recovery Cleanser and it comes off easily. This mascara arrived a few days before a family funeral. Since it came off so easily while washing my face, I didn't wear it to the funeral. Instead, I used Bobbi Brown's No Smudge mascara. For daily use it's ok. There's very little smudging by late afternoon and that is easily fixed.

Was a fan - now a zealot!
Tried Great Big Lashes Mascara. Have draw of failed mascaras (smudging was a HUGE prof, used waterproof which was a drag for every day and constant battle with remover!) Great Big Lashes is AWESOME! Super densely pigment...ed, NO SMUDGING (finally), comes off when I want it to (with Paula's daily cleanser), and looks really really really good. Never crowed about a product before, but so happy with result after tubes of frustration. Threw out SIX half used mascaras from the "heartbreak" section of my drawer.

great mascara for everyday use
I am now using this mascara in brown every day getting ready for work. It looks terrific and stays on well all day. It also works very well with my sensitive eyes, which have become irritated with things like Defincils. It creates a lot of length and that is exactly what I want. It's also really hard to find a nice BROWN mascara - thank you for making one!

Not 100% happy
It does what it promises but it is so difficult to take the mascara off. I tried everything (except for the Paula's make up remover) and ended with racoon eyes. It takes me at least 10 minutes to gently take off this mascara. Just for this reason I am not going to repurchase.

"impossibly thick lashes" - Even after 3 coats of mascara i don't have the 'impossible thick lashes'
"Will not flake off or clump on lashes" - Wrong. It DOES clump up, even the first time that you apply it; the lashes stick together and it is extremely difficult to apply/ handle & use it.
"Leaves lashes soft and conditioned" - It is the ONLY thing that Paula said the product would do and it did it's job. Even after the lashes being all glued together, clumpy and for some reason a bunch of mascara being balled up on the lashes, the lashes dont feel heavy.
I don't advice anyone to buy it. I was very disappointed. :(
