Could we get spf 50 powder?
I love your powder but gave it 4 only because it doesn't have a high spf. I wish it could have a higher 50 spf rating like the mineral powder by Colorscience. I really prefer the powder sunscreen by itself on my face.
It would be great if you could come out with a less expensive mineral powder sunscreen. Thanks Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. A higher sunscreen factor would require more of the active sunscreen ingredients making the potential for irritation greater in some skin types. Also, when applying powder as your primary source of sun protection it would require a heavy application in order to ensure your skin is fully protected which can easily look cakey so we usually suggest focusing on sunscreen in your foundation or an actual sunscreen product. Love this powder but it is a tad luminescent for my taste. Also, I would LOVE a loose powder option! Please, PLEASE tell me that it could be a possibility?? This powder does contain a matte finish and does not contain any shimmer at all but it may be just a bit too heavy for your skin which is causing you to look a bit shiny. Paula used to carry a loose powder but it was discontinued due to low sales. At this time she is not planning on introducing more powders but your request will certainly be tracked! LOVE love LOVE
I have struggled to find a powder that doesn't either leave my face looking "dusty" or "cakey". This powder goes on and looks so natural, and yet lasts all day and provides enough coverage... and it doesn't rub off on my hands, or clothes or scarves or whatever. My only slightly negative comment is that it doesn't cover redness as well as I would like, but the overall wearability of it makes up for it.

Need lighter colors
This is the best powder I have used (and I have used so many), but the lightest shade is way too orange for my fair/pink undertone skin. You need to offer lighter shades! Super Bronzer
I use the Healthy Tan as a bronzer and I love it! It is super natural and has SPF in it! I got compliments that my skin looked flawless. I returned my Smashbox bronzer because it just can't beat this one... Actually, non of the bronzers on the market can beat this bronzer. Thank you so much Paula!

I have been able to completely eliminate foundation and concealer. Recently I've been using Paula's complete line (in past only used BHA) and my skin is GLOWING.
Following the steps Paula has outlined for skin care routine and following sunscreen, I apply this powder and viola! Completely put together look. I use the lighest for concealing and the darkest for contouring and the neutral all over for the perfect finish.... I love it. AND I will add, I have sold 2 makeup lines in the past and worked for a major Mall Developer thus had access to the top upscale cosmetic lines... this is bye far my favorite to date.

I love this product, its one of the best I've tried. It covers well for me, I don't have a lot of blemishes or flaws so I don't need a lot of coverage. What I love about it is that it doesn't look cakey or blotchy at the end of the day. I hate when after wearing makeup all day your face starts to look dirty from the makeup settling. No one can tell I have anything on my face, and it doesn't leave dry flaky spots. I apply it with a brush and then if I have blemishes I dab it over them with my finger and it hides them well. I think its better than the bare essentuals mineral makeup that everyone uses. I used to work in a makeup store so I've tried all sorts of different foundations and powders.

Fabulous SPF 15 Pressed Powder
I have been purchasing this powder in the colour neutral for years and love this powder. It is a staple in my makeup collection. The colour is truly neutral and does not draw attention, which is the goal of a powder to provide a natural looking but improved base. It keeps my oily skin matte for a reasonable time and certainly is on par or better than any other powder I have tried to minimize shine. The coverage and texture is excellent.
All other spf 15 powders I have tried from other companies are either ridiculously expensive or have bizarre and unnatural colours. I would be lost without this product so Paula please do not discontinue or change this product. Thanks

I've been devoted to
I always thought I had the palest skin possible, but reading the other reviews on here made me realize I must not! (Possibly this is because my skin has red undertones and is uneven?) I've used "buff beige" powder over my entire face and neck--some areas I use it over foundation, others I don't. It always gives me a flawless and not obvious finish. I do use a normal flat powder pad, except for the neck area. I've worn it under every possible form of lighting, through tears, in rain, and on insanely long days (with touch ups now and then for the latter). It always looks great. I hope it is never unavailable and never changes. I'm about to purchase two more right now--one for the purse, one for the bathroom.

Colors too dark for fair skin
I love the idea of this product, but I found that it didn't pick up onto a foundation brush very well (it seemed a little grainy, or hard to blend), but that wouldn't have been a killer. The killer for me was that the lightest shade was still too dark for my skin. I'm brunette, hazel eyes, and fair skinned but not exactly hyper-fair, and this powder still looked orangey and dusky in bright office lighting. This powder has too much coverage for me, my skin gets oiler faster, and the color is too dark for me (The lightest one). I didn't like that it didn't bring anything to apply it with. Just not for me. oh well.

Need Better Colors
I have always known that the lightest color is too dark for my very fair skin, but I purchased it and the darker one for a vacation last summer. Not only did the colors not even match my slightly tan skin, but they had a distinct pink tone. That might be great for someone with an olive skintone (light to dark) but did not work at all for my very fair redhead complexion. Matte?
Everything about HFPP is spot on EXCEPT the matte finish. Powder is a must for me to set make up and now that I'm older I have to be careful of the shiny cosmetics that accentuate the lines and wrinkles. Coming from Paula who I've followed for years and use her products, I was expecting a "true to her word product". NO WAY on this one. PLEASE, there IS a luminosity to this powder and after an hour or so I'm lit up like a pearl with it! I don't have oily skin either. I've tried using a puff applicator also to try to mattify this more yet it doesn't work. So disappointed since I love the color, texture and SPF. Be honest with description and come out with something all of us can use. Buff beige powder
Love this product, however buff beige is too dark for my skin tone. Your "all bases covered" foundation comes in very light shades for fair skin - now we need a powder to compliment your foundations!

Great, but should include an applicator
This powder is great and has a lovely finish. I am very pale and love buff beige (it's a tad darker than my skin tone, but it adds some much needed extra color to my complexion and looks very natural). However, 1 star off because it doesn't include an applicator. At the very least, you should offer a well made applicator separately. Paula may not like to use a puff, but I do!

Product needs an update badly
I agree with many other reviewers about the colors. I have always known that the lightest shade was way too dark for my skin. We were going on a cruise this summer so I decided to purchase the two lightest shades for when my body might get tanner (I try to shield my face and body, but face like a hawk and wanted these products to help). Even with trying to match a slightly tanner body, the colors did not match normal skin color. They seemed to pinky, peach to be natural. The texture felt tight on my skin. I returned them and purchased Clinique's Almost Powder in two darker shades than the lightest "fair". These worked beautifully. This product got rave reviews from Paula. I'm surprised that she hasn't updated her formulation or colors as mineral powders with high SPF's, and good yellow based colors, have become commonplace in both the department and drug stores! Great Coverage But Not Great Color
Please reinstate Sheer 1!! I found that the neutral color is a bit yellow and the buff is not a pretty color. Good coverage though. Sheet 1 was perfect! Too dark
I really love the texture of this makeup and can't wait till Paula provides a translucent or highlighter color. Maybe a multicolor highlighter for all skin tones or light skin tones? The lightest color was too dark for me.

bismuth oxychloride alert
I really like this powder but advise anyone allergic to bismuth oxychloride to pass. The ingredient list says "may contain" bismuth oxychloride so I took a chance but the powder I received definitely contains it. Too bad as I really like the powder. I use it sparingly but still get irritation and break outs.

I LIKE it does NOT come with a puff nor a brush - I normally do not satisfy with the kind of low quality brush... The coverage of this foundation is sheer to light - which is fine. It cannot conceal your large pores nor wrinkle but this is not my concern... I layer it on my face generously but it still looks very natural - well, it is light coverage. it has tiny sparkling particles which gives glow to the complexion, wonderful! Although it comes only in 4 shades, I find the right one. By the way, I used online chat for shade recommendation, but "the expert" recommended the wrong shade... anyway, i got the perfect shade now. it is suitable for sightly dry or slightly oily skin. Oily or very oily skin will need to touch up.

Nice Powder, No Puff
The powder is very nice. Only complaint is no way to get a puff into compact so I have to carry a brush around. I wash my puffs each day hence, bacteria growth isn't an issue for me. I wish this compact was big enough to accomodate a puff.

This makes a great finishing powder, it just doesn't have enough coverage to make it as a powder foundation. Unfortunately, I can only use it in the summer when I am trying to make my untanned a little darker. Even the lightest shade is too dark for my very fair skin during the colder months. Please make a fairer color for us palefaces!

I loved the SHEER 1!!! SHEER 2 as well! Please reinstate!!!! I have the neutral, and it's too yellow and too dark. I believe I've tried the lighter shade as well, but it's still not right. Come on! Get more shades!!!

The Powder I Love
The "buff beige" healthy finish pressed powder has been my companion for many years (from life in a dry climate to a very humid one). I was reordering now and decided it was finally time to leave a review. I've also had times when my skin was peeling from vitamin deficiencies and somehow the powder seemed to seal in my moisturizer (after it dried) better than when I didn't wear makeup--slowing down or preventing the peeling. The color is perfect for my fair skin with reddish undertones with the Best Natural Buff foundation or without anything underneath it at all!

The Best
I've been using this powder forever and I love it. My favorite thing about it (besides the sunscreen) is it's versatility. A light dusting over foundation controls shine and helps makeup last, but it also works surprisingly well as a light coverage powder foundation, especially if applied with a buffer brush. number one product for rosacea!
I cannot tell you how much I love this product!! I have rosacea and all other makeup irritates my skin. I use this as my base, it does not irritate my skin at all. I stays matte all day. Also a nice surprise, I can finally wear eye shadow without it creasing! I have tried all eye shadow primers out there and they do not work for me. Once I apply this powder to my eye lids I can finally wear eye shadow and it lasts all day! Thank you!!!!

wish it had a sponge compartment
Very nice powder, I use a nice dusting over foundation. I have a small purse and like to keep clutter to a minimum so I'd love for this to also hold a puff/sponge so I can take it with me on the go. Not a medium-coverage powder as described
This was my first purchase from Paula's Choice and I've been disappointed with this powder. It's described as providing light to medium coverage, but I've found that misleading. It goes on extremely sheer; nowhere near the medium coverage that I need. If you're looking for a very sheer nearly translucent powder but with a some color to it, then this might be the one for you. Wonderful textured powder
I love Paula's Choice pressed powder. She discontinued my favorite color, Sheer 1, and Buff Beige was recommended by a customer service rep as a replacement color. It's a tad too dark, and I must agree with the other reviewers who said the same thing...please make a lighter shade of this fabulous pressed powder! Paula, listen to your customers and add one shade lighter for us fair-skinned women. I love the fact that this has SPF along with the silky smooth application. I would give it 5 stars if it came in a lighter shade.

Love this powder. It's really light on my skin and doesn't get cakey like some others do. Also, I love the fact that it has an SPF. The reason for 4 stars is that it doesn't come with a puff to apply the product. Luckily, I had one. I suppose you could use a brush too. Paula makes great skin care products!

Perfect for a Country Girl
I am 60 yrs old & this powder is perfect for me. I do not like to wear liquid type foundations. I live in the country & when I venture into town, I apply this. So easy & has the spf. I have it in tan & works for my medium skin tone.

Not for Oily Skin!
I am a huge fan of PC skincare, but I was very disappointed with this powder. It leaves a shiny finish that is very unflattering for oily skin-types and magnifies larger pores. Does not create the matte finished look a powder is supposed to! Only good thing is the SPF....Customer Care Response: Thank you for submitting a review. By far the best I have ever used!
I have been using this powder since it first came out and it is by far the best I have ever used. I use a primer w/ SPF, concealer as needed, and this powder and I the result is very polished and natural. The buff beige works well for me, but I do agree that a lighter shade might be even better. :)

Another Great SPF Product!
Graet, AND it has SPF to boot! Apply this over Foundation and Paula's concealer, to 'set' these for the whole day! At 53, with sensitive/ combination skin; This powder has never caused breakouts, or mottling, a problem with most powders. I wish I could leave a powder applicator in the case, and yet I know I will do better with a portable brush or one of Paula's paper blotters! Great item, it lasts, like all Paula's items, for a very long time!

Mattifies So Naturally!
Use this in "Buff Beige", which works great for my golden fair skin. I do think there should be a shade fairer though, there are plenty of women even fairer than I am. This mattifies oil, yet has the natural luminosity of skin, so there's no trace of powder. It never cakes up, goes blotchy, or turns orange. Also, since I can't use chemical sunscreens, I have to get physical/mineral s/s from my makeup, so the added SPF in this powder helps me keep my fair skin even more protected! Love it!

I just LOVE this powder foundation! As liquid foundations are not for me and my acne prone skin, this powder foundation is just perfect. Great powder with SPF
I love this powder because of the SPF and the silky texture. I have very fair, slightly dry skin. This powder protects my face during the day without drying out my skin or clogging my pores. The Buff Beige color is light enough for even my very pale face.

Who is this product for?

How should this product be used?
For use as a finishing powder, Healthy Finish Pressed Powder can be applied with our Powder Brush. A standard pressed powder puff may be used as well by those who prefer a more opaque, slightly heavy application.
For brush application, pick up some powder on the full end of the brush, knock off the excess, and brush it on using the same motion and direction as you used for your foundation. Keep everything going in the same direction (brushing down) to help maintain a smooth appearance.
We do not recommend using Healthy Finish Pressed Powder wet—the sunscreen will likely be compromised and it has not been SPF-tested for wet application.
* Unless a significant layer of Healthy Finish Pressed Powder is applied, we do not recommend relying on it (or any SPF-rated pressed powder) as your sole source of sun protection. It is best to use an powder with sunscreen in conjunction with a moisturizer or foundation with an SPF 15 or greater that contains UVA-protecting ingredients.

Directions: Unless a significant layer of Healthy Finish Pressed Powder is applied, we recommend not relying on it (or any SPF-rated pressed powder) as your sole source of sun protection. Healthy Finish Pressed Powder can be applied with one of our Powder Brushes. A standard pressed powder puff may be used as well by those who prefer a more opaque, slightly heavy application of powder.
For brush application, pick up some powder on the full end of the brush, knock off the excess, and brush it on using the same motion and direction as you used for your foundation. Keep everything going in the same direction (brushing down) to help maintain a smooth appearance.
We do not recommend using Healthy Finish Pressed Powder wet—the sunscreen will likely be compromised and it has not been SPF-tested for wet application.
During the day, if you need to touch up your makeup or sunscreen, it is helpful to use Oil Blotting Papers (or, in a pinch, a tissue) to dab away excess oil from the skin before using Healthy Finish Pressed Powder again. With this method, you use less powder and can maintain a natural but finished look, while modestly "refreshing" your sunscreen.
Some makeup artists use a powder puff (particularly those who do TV makeup) to "press" the powder into the skin to create a very flat, matte finish. This method can be used for extra sun protection if reapplying moisturizer or foundation with sunscreen is inconvenient.
Powder is a great "fix-it" tool to have at the ready for softening blush that is too strong or bright, blending the edges of eyeshadow or a too-dark crease color and softening an overzealous application of contour or bronzer.
Does Healthy Finish Pressed Powder SPF 15 work as my sole source of sun protection?
Not really, at least not unless you're willing to apply it in a thick layer. Since most people don't use powder in that manner (and for good reason!) Paula recommends that any pressed powder with sunscreen be used to enhance the sun protection you get from your daytime moisturizer or foundation with sunscreen. Healthy Finish Pressed Powder SPF 15 is great to brush on during the day to reduce shine and touch-up your sun protection!
Which type of foundation does Healthy Finish Pressed Powder SPF 15 work best with?
Although Healthy Finish Pressed Powder SPF 15 may be used with any foundation, it works best applied over liquid or cream foundations that have a smooth, non-powdery finish. If your foundation has a powdery finish, you may not need to apply a powder over it until later in the day, when it's time to touch-up your makeup.
