SAVED MY SKIN
A few months ago I tried a new chemical sunscreen and a retinol product, within a few weeks my skin was a disaster! I had terrible acne, red bumps and a rough texture on my face. I stopped everything and went to a very basic cleanser and moisturizer (Cetaphil and CeraVe) but it wasn't until I started using the Hydralight that my skin started to return to normal. My skin is sensitive and a little dry so this will be perfect for the upcoming humid summer.

I doubted about trying this one cause many people complained about the smell but the smell is so awesome! It is cucumberish!!!! So amazing and refreshing! It does kinda smell like that BHA for body like someone already said. It feels very light and wonderful on the skin. I wish the bottle was bigger :)This is one of my most favorite moisturizers.

Fresh scent, light-to-medium moisture
I bought this because of the smell! I first tried a sample and was pleasantly surprised to find a little (naturally occurring) scent in a Paula's Choice product. You get all the refreshing mental-stimulation of the scent of cucumber, which soon dissipates leaving you with a light-to-medium moisturizer. This is my choice when I need a moisture boost for my combination skin.

Lovely texture
Perfect before bed and doubles as under-eye moisturizer! It doesn't help dry spots caused by my RX acne treatments (not that I expected it to), but it's gentle enough for the other areas of my crazy combo skin. Good stuff!

I love this product! While I usually use Moisture Boost Daily Restoring Complex with SPF 30, my skin sometimes gets irritated from cold weather or sun. If I toss this on, it's back to normal the next day!

Not bad, but not for me.
This product has a very nice texture and I thought the smell was pleasent as well. Unfortunately, I have a mild allergy to melons and didn't realize that cucumber was part of the melon family. My face had a reaction soon after using this(redness and pimples on cheeks and forehead.)So I think that may have been the reason. My sister tried it and it seemed to work fine for her so I will probably give the rest to her. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. In follow up to my "cucumber ish" comment, I should clarify that this is the initial scent (in my opinion) and is temporary. It is not a "fragrance" (long lasting). I think 5 minutes tops and then it dissipates. Those of you familiar with the BHA1% lotion will recognize the smell. Regardless it's a wonderful moisturizer.

Ordered this on a whim. Very non greasy and left my face feeling very soft. Actually started using this after a reaction to the 1% BHA gel and was very non irritating and soothing. There is a slight cucumber ish smell but in my opinion not offensive or overpowering like others have indicated. I am very sensitive to scents too.

Great moisturizer if you can handle the smell
This is a wonderful moisturizer. But as most people have mentioned, the smell is less than desirable. So, here's a test for you to try before you buy... open up a bottle of white Elmer's school glue and put it on your bathroom counter... randomly pick it up during your morning routine and take a long sniff of the aroma... if you can't handle the smell, then don't get this product. Because the closest thing I can equate this to is plain old school glue. My hat's off to those of you who can handle it. And yes, I know that it is because no masking fragrances are in Paula's products. That is a wonderful thing because fragrances cause hard bumps in my skin. it feels great and sure moisturizes well, but the scent is kind of cucumber-y in the unpleasant way. kind of reminded me of the nair i used to use as a teenager. fortunately it dissipates after a while but it makes the experience of putting it on somewhat...lacking. Must have moisturizer!!
I LOVE this product! I was always scared to use moisturizer because I have oily, acne-prone skin and I didn't want to make it worse. I was SO wrong though. This soothes my skin and makes it feel so soft and smooth yet not greasy. I feel like I'm pampering my skin every time I use it. It doesn't irritate my occasional acne and it doesn't cause my extremely sensitive skin to break out at all. I went from using no moisturizer to using this product twice a day and my skin has never looked better! Thanks Paula's Choice!

I adore this moisturizer. It's just a lovely, calming, soothing lotion. It feels so good on my freshly washed face and makes my skin soft, plump and never oily. When I come home after a hot day and I'm dying to just splash my face with cool water, I always finish with this and feel so refreshed and nourished.

Lovely Product but concerned about Tube Container
Have been using this product for quite some time and love it as much as everything else Paula has developed. However, I am somewhat concerned about the stability of the antioxidants in this product since it is very liquid and every time I squeeze some out, the tube has the tendency to re-inflate itself with air as soon as I let go of it. ( Same thing happens with some of Paula's other creams and serums in plastic tube containers). I have contacted customer service twice already but no one has bothered to get back to me with an explanation or answer... Regarding your packaging concerns, the small amount of air exposure that occurs with PC tubes does not compromise their formula. Paula's Choice has tested these extensively at all stages of their use to guarantee this. Light but protective
A great weightless cream for a nice natural feel and look. Goes on like silk for daytime wear and serves also as a nice eye cream for night. Works well for combo skin, too.

Great light moisturizer
I love how it goes on light and very quickly gives a matte finish. I love that it is fragrance free but yet has a pleasant fresh smell to it. I would love it if there was also a more moisturizing version of this also for during the winter so I could use this all year round!

I read in some reviews before that this one smells bad and that's why I refused to try it...then I decided to get a sample. I think it smells lovely! It has cucumber smell to it (unless Paula adjusted the formula)...it goes on absolutely wonderfully! I love this moisturizer! Going to get a big bottle.

Works Great!
I really do like the Hydralight Moisture Lotion. I'm late 50s with normal/dry skin; but sometimes the heavier moisture "cream" from Paula is a little too heavy and the Skin Balancing Gel is too light especially for winter. This works well!

My favorite lotion
I love everything about this lotion. It instantly soothes my oily sensitive skin and is just emollient enough to provide a bit of moisture. I actually love the natural smell- I'm glad that Paula decided to include the cucumber extract in the formula. I use this lotion year round. It layers perfectly under my sunscreen during the day and over the BHA gel at night. I have not experienced any irritation like some of the reviewers said. The Hydralight lotion actually gets rid of redness and leaves my skin dewy.

Effective and lightweight
I have combination skin that is sometimes prone to acne and this moisturizer is the perfect night time moisturizer for me. It absorbs quickly and doesn't feel thick or heavy, yet it is very effective. I live up north and even as we head into the winter months with dry air, this product is still doing a great job of keeping my skin hydrated.

Does the job fairly well...
I have insanely oily skin and I like this moisturiser for night. It's light and absorbs fairly quickly after cleansing and toning my face. When I wake up in the morning my skin feels hydrated and not greasy and shiny. The smell is not the greatest, kind of like glue and it lingers for a while. I also avoid my eyelids as it stings and causes a red, itchy reaction. The rest of my face looks great though so I will definitely be repurchasing this as a night lotion. Thanks Paula!

Hydralight moisture-infusing lotion
I love using this product, but I notice a change in smell and texture after several months. There is a somewhat bitter smell (like an expired product would smell)now and some liquid has separated from the lotion and flows first from the tube when I squeeze it. Not sure if I should use it anymore, which is a shame, because it was great for my oily problem skin at first. P.S.:I've had it for half a year and I store my Paula's Choice products at room temperature. Not helping my sensitive skin
I love most of Paula's products, but I can't seem to find a good moisturizer for my skin type. I was under the impression that this lotion was for sensitive skin, but it stings when I put it on my dry spots. Still looking for something to help. This is everything a good moisturizer should be. It's lightweight but hydrating (even for my skin, which tends to be on the dry side). It wears beautifully under makeup, and gives skin a subtle glow. Most importantly, to my mind, it doesn't cause breakouts and has even slightly reduced the redness of old acne scars, making my skin tone noticeably more even. The tube dispenses the product in a hygienic way, making it far better than moisturizers that require you to put your hand in a jar and (for me, at least) cause breakouts. This is a basic, elegant product. My search for a superior moisturizer ended when I found this product.

Best Moisturizer I've Ever Used
I absolutely love this product. Everything about it is a win: texture, smell (cucumber, to my nose), and results. It goes on smoothly, it feels light and cool on my skin, and it leaves my face looking and feeling fresh and smooth for hours. It is especially great after the 2%BHA liquid exfoliant. I am 44 and have problems with blackheads and closed comedones, yet my face needs more moisture than most oily-skin products provide. This stuff does the trick--good moisture, lots of great skin benefitting ingredients for my aging skin, but not the least bit oily or heavy. Perfect!

I have pretty sensitive skin, but the Hydralight didn't bother it one bit, and there was enough to use it 4 nights in a row.

Absolutely adore this moisturizer - it lives up to its name, providing excellent hydration with a light feel. It is creamy, but not heavy, and when you squeeze some out it will run a bit, like liquid foundation. I have sensitive skin, and it is very easy on my skin - no irritation! Despite being fragrance free, it has a pleasant smell, like cucumbers. A little goes a long way - I'll have this bottle for a while!

hydralight lotion
I bought a sample size & it seemed to work fine, although it caused a slight tingling/stingling sensation and my skin is not particularly sensitive. I know by reading Paula's reviews that that is not a good sign. I don't understand the "cucumber" scent that other people have mentioned. Cucumber smells wonderful-fresh & light. This does not. It had a very strong, unpleasant odor. The scent reminds me of stinky saliva. Gross, I know, but that is what I thought of. What a great moisturizer. Leaves a slightly matte finish. My skin looks calmer and less patchy with each use. Hydralight Moisture-Infusing Lotion is slightly more moisturizing than the Skin Balancing Moisture Gel, but feels just as light. The cucumber smell is ok. I don't mind it. I would definitely buy again.

this is the best moisturizer I have ever used. it smells awesome. does not get greasy. light, refreshing & it does the job of making my skin feel young & dewey. The name of this lotion says it all. It hydrates but is still light enough for my combination/oily skin. I bought this from Paula's Choice because other skin care lines don't offer very good moisturizers for my skin type. There are plenty of good options for dry skin, but those products are too emollient for my skin. I love that because this is fragrance free, I can easily use it around my eyes. It immediately got rid of the dry patches near my eyes I got from using a BHA product (not Paula's Choice, but a Paula's Pick) around my nose. I was amazed! Up until then, nothing else had worked. I will definitely consider other products from this line.

Smells like bananas...kind of
And that's okay with me. I like it! This is a great night moisturizer for my combination skin. Occassionally, at those times of the month when my skin is hormonally oily, I have woken up to a small pimple or two, but I'm not sure if it was because of this lotion or not. My favorite Paula's Choice product
I actually look forward to applying this at night, and that's saying a lot, since I'd rather be sleeping than standing in the bathroom applying a half-dozen things to my face. Appropriate thickness, very soothing, and just the right amount of moisture I need for my combo/oily skin. Haven't tried it in the morning (I use sunscreen), but it's perfect with my Paula's Choice night skin care system. I'm happy with all the PC skin products (except the BHA 2% liquid - beware), but this Hydralight is my favorite so far.

Very Soothing
I bought this product to combat some of the dryness I was feeling at times from the acne treatment and exfoliant. Areas of my face would feel really tight and uncomfortable. This instantly soothes my skin - it's instant comfort. This will definitely stay as a staple in my skin care routine.

Love this product
I have oily, sensitive and acne prone skin that becomes combination in the winter. This lotion is great. It is not greasy at all, so it does not disturb the oily areas, yet does a great job moisturizing the drier areas. My skin looks dewy after application. Love the fresh cucumber smell!

Great product, shame about my skin's reaction!
I am giving this product 5 stars because I love the texture during the winter months when I need a little extra moisture. However, for the first time ever, I experienced contact dermatitis (breakouts of small pimples) all over my face after using this product. This was not the case with the previous formulation. Anyway, call me a sad fanboy but I believe in Paula's products, and I know that anyone can react badly to even benign ingredients. Also, do not be put off trying this product - remember that it is often the people who had negative(or extremely positive) experiences who post reviews - all the other satisfied customers don't tend to bother!

Fabulous for Rosacea
I've used many of Paula's moisturizers and they're all excellent. That said, for my rosacea prone skin, the Hydralight is absolutely fabulous. Just the right level of moisture, my skin is matte, smooth, calm and soft. Give this one a shot, it's terrific!

Welcome improvements
I already like the old formula (even though it was too runny, the pump system worked badly and it had an unpleasant smell) because it was so soothing and moisturizing on my skin... with the formula change, slightly thicker, the new cucumber smell and the tube instead of the pump bottle, I see only real improvements (I still get the same wonderful effects from this moisturizer with no negative point anymore) ! This is the perfect light weight moisturizer for those suffering from oily or acne prone skin. The right amount of moisture without being oily or heavy on the skin. The odd smell everyone is commenting on isn't unpleasant and if I had to say it smelled like anything in particular I would say it is like tzitziki.

Updated formula?
I have been using Hydralight moisture-infusing lotion on my face for about 2 years everyday, morning and night. I love it. When I bought a new bottle a few weeks ago, I noticed it has a different scent - it now smells sort of like cool cucumber. It used to smell like glue to me. It's also much more stable and creamy; not at all runny like it used to be. At first I was slightly nervous that the product had changed, but while some ingredients are different, I feel the product has improved. I was sold on it before and feel it has only gotten better with the new formulation.

Nice for oily skin
I'm pleased with this lotion. I love that I don't have to worry about a break-out! I was using (very minimally) a lotion that claimed to be non-comedogenic, but would always make me break out if I applied anywhere on my face other than eye area and throat.
It smells wonderful! The smell is almost identical to the Skin Revealing AHA lotion and the added cucumber extract is great. I really don't understand the complaints about the smell. I have a very sensitive nose and can't stand perfume-laden products, so Paula's line is refreshing in that regard.
As someone else mentioned - I'd rather have healthy, pretty skin than use something with harmful, useless ingredients.

I love the Skin Balancing Moisture Gel during the summer, and the Hyrdalight is another winner! It really does go on matte and light weight. It is a bit more moisturizing and will be a great choice during the winter months.

Formula has been changed
Just opened a new bottle of this, and instantly noted a light cucumber scent (I was never bothered by the scent before) as well as a thicker formula. A look at the ingredients list confirmed a changed formula. I'm really surprised Paula hasn't mentioned this, and wonder how these changes effect the skin. I will continue to use this product, but I don't find it as soothing as the original, which is disappointing.

New smell is great!
Paula's team listened to our reviews regarding the strange smell of this moisturizer. I have a new bottle of it and it has a light smell of cucumber - which makes it my favorite light moisturizer that I use in the evening. It is perfect for my combination/oily skin in the dry foothills of Colorado and at our farm in eastern Nebraska where it is slightly humid. I do use another of Paula's moisturizers in the evening for just dry areas.

Smells nice, but just ok
I want to like this. It has a nice cucumber smell and is light and smooth going on. But it is just not moisturizing enough for my skin. I have a slightly oily t-zone and normal cheeks. The t-zone is fine, but my cheeks seem drier since starting to use.

Love this moisturizer!
This is probably my favorite Paula product, and I use many from her line! It has been exactly what I need for the winter months- soothing to my dry skin, leaving it soft and supple. But it also has not caused any breakouts whatsoever, so I can slather it on generously. I have combination, acne-prone skin with eczema that is super sensitive. But this moisturizer has not irritated my skin in the least. It is very soothing and absorbs quickly. Also, the smell does not bother me (although other Paula products are smelly enough that I can't use them!) Love this and I highly recommend it!

HydraLight Lotion formula change
I recently orderded the HydraLight Lotion and it is wonderful. I used a sample of it before and liked everything about it but the smell. I needed a light moisturizer so I decided to give it another try. Was pleasantly surprised by the fresh cucumber smell from the extract used. The texture is silky and it makes my skin feel so soft. Asked Customer Service if there was formula change and the answer was yes. Just wondering why there isn't anything about it on website. I love this moisturizer! I still get mild acne even at 39 so have to be very careful what I put on my skin. This moisturizer gives just the right amount for me and the light cucumber scent goes away quickly. You can't go wrong with Paula's Choice products!

Wonderful product!
I've been using this moisturizer for years, and find it to be the perfect product. Does not aggravate my acne, and does not make my face oily. When I've ventured away and tried non-Paula's Choice products(even those recommended by my dermatologist) I've foudn it was a mistake to do so and always come back. The smell is not at all bad - - those who are complaining should consider the downsides of the alternatives: yes, they could add fragrance and make it smell like roses, but is that really worth having irritants go on your face? Love this product for what it is - amazing! I just wish the price hadn't gotten so high on this little bottle.

I love Normal/Combination skin that can get pretty oily in the summer but dry and flaky in the winter. This product works great!! I use this with the Antioxidant Concentrate at night and my skin feels wonderful in the morning!!

Pretty good!
This is the perfect summer moisturizer for combination skin! It makes my face feel like velvet and keeps it from feeling tight. The problem with the smell... it seems to get stronger the more the bottle sits, so new moisturizer might not smell as bad as the moisturizer that you have had for a couple of months. I really hope they can fix this because it is definitely a deterrent for me.

Amazing for Sensitive Skin!
This is the ONLY facial moisturizer that takes away my dryness w/o making my skin feel greasy- it even takes away the eczema patches on my face! Prior to using this product, it was very difficult to find an excellent facial moisturizer that did not contain a lot of glycerin (I am allergic), and this product does not aggravate my skin in the slightest. The smell that others are referencing is absent, unless one opens the top and takes a deep whiff- it is truly an excellent product!

Fabulous Moisturizer and More!
I will start by saying I am a makeup artist and I am not without this moisturizer in my kit. A top notch product, it performs just as stated. The beautiful part about it though is that the consistency is perfect for blending into a foundation to sheer down the coverage, creating a beautiful tinted moisturizer! It also helps the foundation blend better over drier skin as well.

This moisturizer is lightweight. i did not notice any odd smell that other have people have mentioned. I have tried many of Paulas products and have never had a bad egg. Her skin care is the only one Ive tried that actually works.

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT
I have extremely sensitive skin that I have gone without using any kind of moisturizer until I reach 45 and realized I needed something. I tried everything from $20 to $300. Then I found one I could use. I loved it, but it is $100 before shipping. I have recently ran out of it, and unfortunely laid-off too - $100 is impossible at the moment. I searched the Internet and found Paula's Choice. I loved the fact that I could try it before I bought it. But because of the other reviews, I was afraid of the smell - I don't think it's that bad and the smell goes away after it absorbes. I was truly shocked that this product didn't break-out my face. the best option for oily skin with no flaking
I tried this product and found it very pleasing. The texture is very light and refreshing, just enough to take care of post-facewashing tightness. But, as I break out almost constantly, it wasn't moisturizing enough to deal with flaky skin from acne (even though it was just the right moisturizing level when my skin wasn't flaking!). I'd really recommend it to anyone with skin on the oily side, and it's what I'll use instead of the hydrating treatment cream when my skin starts behaving. Also, does not contain silicone (which can cause breakouts for me) like some of Paula's other oily skin moisturizing options.

Great Moisurizer
I went back to smell it after just reading all the reviews. I honestly don't smell anything except a usual moisturizer smell that hasn't had scents/perfumes added to it. This moisturizer really absorbs well, is light (as the name suggests) and doesn't leave the skin feeling heavy or greasy. I will continue to use it.

Great For sensitive/combo skin
This is an amazing moisturizer for extremely sensitive allergy prone combination skin. I love it! Most other products that cater to sensitive skin either cause acne, are for extremely dry skin, or do indeed contain irritants. This product does have a distinct adhesive kind of odor, but it quickly dissapates as it dries. I would gladly tolerate an odor that goes away in an awesome moisturizer than have added unecessary fragrance that makes my skin itch or burn.

I love Hydra Light!
I love this lotion for my oily-in-the-summer-and-combo-in-the-winter skin. Like other reviewers, I don't like the smell but have found I can live with it. The smell fades quickly - sometimes I wash it off my hands which helps too. Thank you Paula for a great lotion!

Caution around eyes
I having been using Paula's skincare products for about 6 months now with fabulous results. I just tried this lotion because my combination skin gets dry in the winter. This lotion is very light weight and does not cause blackheads. However, I cannot use it around my eye area. After one use around the eyes, I developed redness, itching and burning followed by dry, flaky skin that lasted for days. Just use caution around your eyes.

Great Moisturizer for Oily Skin
This is the only moisturizer I have been able to find that doesn't add shine to my already oily skin. I also have acne and doesn't cause breakouts. It does have a funny odor but I don't care because it works for me in other areas.

Love it but can't use it!
I love this moisturizer more than any of the other PC moisturizers for several reasons: It is very light and doesn't contribute to oiliness, clogged pores and acne and feels perfect on my skin. None of the others have worked this well for me as they are either too heavy or moisurizing or too matte for my skin. I'm 58 but my skin can be quite oily and is never dry so finding the perfect balance of moisture without drying is what I need. This is that perfect balance but I can't use it! Whenever I put it on, my eyes burn like fire for the entire day. Sad!

Great product for chemo skin

What a JOY!!!
What a joy it is to use a moisturizer without fear of redness or break outs! WOW!!! For the first time in my life!!! I find myself looking at my new, radiant, and luminous skin in the mirror many times a day because I just can't get over it! I am also using the Refreshing Toner, the Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Mattifying Concentrate Serum and the 2% BHA liquid and the 8% AHA gel. Perfect moisturizer
I love, love, love this moisturizer. It is absolutely perfect. I use this all over my face, and put just a dab of hydrating treatment cream over my dry patches. These are the only moisturizers I've ever used that don't irritate my sensitive skin. Please don't ever discontinue these!

I just received the new HydraLight Moisture-Infusing Lotion yesterday. I used it this morning and was so pleased. I have combination skin that gets so "tight" in the winter. How is HydraLight Moisture-Infusing Lotion different from the former Completely Non-Greasy Moisturizing Lotion?

HydraLight Moisture-Infusing Lotion leaves a finish that leaves skin feeling more moisturized than Skin Balancing Moisture Gel.
