skin looks better than daughter's
I've been using Paula's products for over 10 years now and have grown accustomed to the positive comments I am constantly receiving about my skin. I rarely wear foundation because my skin has a natural glow and health. I recently had a facial and the technical kept commenting about the great condition of my skin. I am 64 and my daughter is 32 and I'm sorry to say my skin looks better than hers so I'm going to order for her the skin recovery system. I'm now using the Resist system and throw in some additional Paula products here and there. The only product outside of Paula's line that I use is Neutragena's Dry Touch Sunblock with an spf of 45 and 55.

Great Skin Care System
As a 65 year old woman, skin care has assumed considerable importance to me as I fight the very visible signs of aging such as uneven skin tone and crepe-papery skin. I have never adhered to a "system" of skin care before, finding it simply too much work and not really buying into the concept. Typically, I use a variety of products from the department store, spending far more than what I spent on the whole Resist System. I have been using the Resist Anti-Aging System on my face and neck now for over 2 weeks and have been pretty good at using it morning and evening. What a difference! My skin positively glows with using these products. I use prescription strength RetinA and the Resist system still keeps my skin smooth and well hydrated. Very happily, my neck skin is far less crepe-papery. It is so nice to finally have a product that lives up to its expectations!

RESIST RESULTS
I think I have had amazing results with using the entire RESIST system. I am 56, very fair and had strawberry blonde hair, now colored dark golden blonde. Although I usually wore a moisturizer with sunblock since my 20's, my skin had certainly aged. Until my 40's, I used to wear only eye makeup and moisturizer, and often people commented on how lovely my skin was. I guess eventually time, gravity, sun, worry, not to mention a serious chronic disease and many types of drugs for the past 10 years, took its toll on my skin. I had used a prescription retinoid in the past, but my skin always looked worse instead of better, more irritated. I have followed Paula's suggestions for many years because she seemed so sensible. I should also say that I hate the "feeling" of stuff on my skin, so it seemed that this product line would be a dud for me. I hate the feeling of tacky moisturizer, how would I manage with all this stuff? But I decided to give it a try and started in January. I would say I am a perfect daytime user and apply all the products as suggested. I am not at all bothered by the feeling of "stuff on my face". I do notice the sunblock, but it seems less apparent with the other products used underneath. I haven't been a perfect nighttime product user because sometime I am just too tired to take the extra step, and I just wash. I should also mention that I use a Clarisonic with the face wash once a day. Well, guess what has happened--people have started to tell me I have beautiful skin. I almost want to turn around and check to see if they are talking to me. Even one of my doctors ( a female ) commented on how nice my skin was, and I had on no makeup at all. She knew my age, and had nothing to do with dermatology. I plan to get myself going on a consistent night time use program. I still have dark circles, but they have also improved. I have only rarely used foundation over the past several months, or under eye concealer, trying to help my skin calm down. (I am not working right now) I know this is a long review, but I really thought that the days of me ever having nice skin were over. I cannot afford to have laser treatments, peels, Botox, etc., as my medical expenses consume many dollars. I sure don't think my skin is anywhere near perfect, and I should get rid of the magnifying mirror, but I know that my skin looks better than it has in a long time. Thank you, Paula

Fantastic Products (with minor packaging issues)
I wish I could give this 5 stars but I'm beginning to experience dispenser problems with both the Daily Smoothing and Barrier Repair bottles. They've clogged up a little bit from the beginning (about 2 months ago) but now that the product is more than half-way gone, getting it out of the bottle has become a challenge. Besides that, the Resist line is nothing short of amazing. I have combination/oily skin and therefore use the Skin Balancing System in the morning with the Resist System at night and they're working miracles for me. I am almost 42 and consistently receive compliments on my youthfulness. I added the Resist Intensive Wrinkle Repair Retinol Serum and alternate that with the Resist Super Serum. I also use the Resist Weekly Resurfacing 2X a week. So, don't be afraid to customize Paula's products to your specific needs...a little experimenting has given me exceptional results! Keep up the good work Paula and PLEASE change your product pumps so I don't waste half of the product next go-around.

This is a follow-up review...I'd been using the system for a week and was very impressed, but I've had an effect from the products that I didn't expect. I have had two surgeries on the vertebrae in my neck, and the incisions were made on the front of my neck. They went in the same way twice and the scar has always bothered me. It is SO MUCH SMOOTHER now!! Thank you, Paula! I used to have tiny milia under my eyes and those are completely gone, and now I feel quite comfortable going without makeup because my skin looks so good. I have worked up to using the 10% AHA twice a week and my sensitive skin just loves it.

Great System for sensitive Combo Skin
I purchased the Resist line, including products not offered in this set, about a year ago. I've had to reorder e toner, barrier repair moisturizer, and cellular defense SPF but everything elsse has lasted e year. I dont appy every product every day/night as I like to switch up the combination from time to time. My hope was to achieve smoother, more even-toned skin, and these products have definitely produced results. Because I've been using the whole line, I don't know which products are most effective, but I do know that the system is well-designed for my somewhat sensitive, combination, slightly splotchy 43-year old skin. I'm very pleased with my purchase and will continue to use and reader these products.

Prefer Hydralight System
I started using PC Hydralight system and fell in love with my skin for the first time. I decided to try the Resist system to take advantage of the enhanced anti-aging properties. With the exception if the Weekly Resurfacing Treatment, I did not like these products. My skin looked worse after two weeks than it had ever looked. The Resist system does not reduce redness or pore visibilty the way the Hydralight does. In fact, overtime i fiund that all the gains i had achieved with PC were reversed using Resist. I feel that the Hydralight system ecen had better anti-aging results. I'm switching back. Customer Care Response: Thank you for taking the time to review this product. I like most of PC's products, so decided to get this whole set. I like the cleanser a lot, very mild. The toner is a bit too rich for my combination skin. I like the sunscreen but wish PC can change the packaging coz there is no lid and it is not too clean to put the opening area on the table (definitely need to change that). Also the Barrier Repair Moisturizer is not too moist. Overall after using 2 times, I get some breakouts so don't know which product causing it? Overall pretty good. Life-changing!
This system is phenomenal. I use everything except the toner, and what a difference they've made! Before I started using Paula's products, my skin was super-sensitive, red and discolored, even though I spent $$$ on dozens of products. I even tried picking products that were "Paula-approved," but none of them match what the Resist system has done for my skin. In just a few weeks' time, my skin improved so much that I did something I haven't done in over ten years: leave the house without any makeup on whatsoever, not even concealer. My skin is brighter, even-toned, and tighter. Paula, thank you so much for your products. I will never use any other skin care line!

Cannot Believe
I am just astonished at how my skin looks after four weeks of Paula's products. I use products from the Moisture Boost line, the Resist line and AHAs. Customer service is wonderful to help you decide what products you need. I ordered on a Friday and that Monday evening when I returned from work, the products were at my front door. Unbelievable! I will be 56 years old in August and have combo skin with sun damage on my left cheek and I simply cannot believe how my skin now looks. This is the first line of products I have used that have actually lightened my sun damage. That was what was bothering me the most. I just cannot say enough great things about this line of products. I bought this set because I didn't really have a "routine" and I trust Paula's advice and recommendations. After I use the products it's really hard to keep my hands away from my face because my skin feels so soft! I've been using it for about a week now...I haven't used the weekly treatment yet but I've used everything else.
The cleanser is silky and mild yet removed every trace of my makeup, including waterproof mascara and eyeliner, without irritating my eyes or the skin around my eyes. I've never been a toner fan but have completely changed my mind with this toner! Instead of something that feels like I'm stripping my skin, instead it feels like I'm nourishing it.
One question I have is about the 5% AHA exfoliant. It says on the package that it's free of fragrance and color, and that is reflected in the ingredients. I was surprised, though, that it's a sort of gold color. At first I wasn't going to use it because I wasn't sure that was how it was supposed to be. So far I haven't had problems but I want to be sure that is how it's supposed to be.
I love the antioxidant gel (step 4). It goes on so smoothly and absorbs quickly. I thought the daytime moisturizer with SPF was going to feel very heavy but I'd never know I had it on.

Didn't work for me..
I bought the Resist system with high hopes. I have redness in my cheeks and milia on my forehead. After using for several weeks I see no improvement in the redness. Great Products
I am 62 years old, but let me also add that I look 40. When I was in my early 20's, I developed solar dermatitis (allergy to the sun). As a result, I have spent the last 40 years slathered in sun block just to get from my car to a building, and avoiding the sun at all costs. I have no wrinkles or lines anywhere, but I was losing that "fresh" look to my skin. I've tried many products, both expensive and drugstore, but the Resist line is the best. I could tell a difference after a week. I have to agree with Paula that the best beauty product is sunscreen/block and I'm living proof. I have a 40-year-old daughter who has Botox regularly; I have never had it. My sister is only 21 months older than I am, but she looks like she could be my mother.

I purchased the Risist Anti-Aging System last week and received it in the mail almost immediately. I was so excited to begin using it as I had already purchased samples and knew I would like it. My only concern (I don't want to say complaint) is in the packaging of the Hydrating Cleanser. I worked and worked and worked to try to release the pump so I could use it. This was to no avail, so I called your customer service and spoke with a very nice lady who said that several people had problems with releasing the pump. She told me how to line it up and I still could NOT do it! I had to wait on my husband, who is an engineer, to finally get it to open. My thoughs went to the many ladies who have arthritis (thankfully, I do not) in their fingers and could not possibly have opened this without pain. I took the bait, hook, line & sinker!
I purchased the entire kit as recommended by your "specialist". What a waste of money. In people's reviews they just rant and rave about how this works in just days. Hah! Hah! Promising... Let's Just See!
I have oily/combination skin. I had been using Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Cleanser with the CLEAR Targeted Acne Treatment Toner and CLEAR Acne Fighting Treatment. Although I experienced minimal results, my skin did not look or feel any better. This was after a little over a year in following this regimen.
So I decided to sample Paula's Choice RESIST line, even though I am 31 and do not have wrinkles. Yet I only have a few pimples on occasion... after having gone through Accutane twice.
I love how the line leaves my skin soft and smooth... but not quite sure if the pores are being affected or not. The two biggest pimples do not seem to be budging... but this may be because I have only been using the sample sets for a week.
I do want to recommend with all of you who have oily/combination skin to consider not buying the entire Resist Set... Instead buy all the individual products in this sets without the Cellular Defense Moisturizer. The reason for my recommendation is that this particular moisturizer is designed for dry/very dry skin - NOT for oily/combination skin. You would need to consider a different moisturizer such as the one in the Skin Balancing System or the Essential Non-Greasy Sunscreen. I did sample the moisturizer but did not appreciate its thickness and the way it leaves my skin feeling oily... but again - this is specifically designed for dry/very dry skin.

Resist travel packages
The contents are fine - just like the bottles. However I took it on a short trip, planning to use it as I have used sample packages in the past. There is only about 1/3 the amount of product in each package, so it lasted one day, instead of the three I had counted on. It was expensive considering the small contents. Be warmed and check those little decimal numbers before planning to use these for travel. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Our sample packets do have enough for just one application. For some you may be able to get a couple more uses but for the most part they are one use samples. Beware if you have sensitive skin
I have a mixed result with this kit. i've tried the products severals times & the products work fine on my face but I can not get any of the products in this kit anywhere near my neck. My neck is more sensitive & I get a red, itching rash anytime a Resist product makes contact with my neck. I've given up. unfortunately it's too late to send them back or else I would. Paula's Choice products are the best. I'm 57 years old. My skin is normal with some oily spots and occasional whiteheads and "blind" pimples (red, sore bumps). Since using Paula's Choice, the breakouts have become rare. My skin looks healthier than it has in a long time. I wish Paula's Choice products were sold at Saphora and/or Blue Mercury so I could just pick them up as I need them.

This is the best product line that Paula makes. I have been using it for a couple of years and when I meet people, they tell me that my skin looks great. I am 71 years old. Think I am keeping the wrinkles at bay. One suggestion..don't know if anything could be done about this, but I would like to see how much product is left. Hard to tell with this packaging. This is a great product line and Paula has done it again.

Best skincare I've ever used!
I am 59 years young, si I have had plenty of time to try just about every skincare line out there. The Paula's Choice Resist line is without a doubt the best line I have ever used. I have never had so many compliments on my complexion as I have had since I started using Paula's Choice. I really appreciate the fact that this line does not have fragrance or parabens, as I am allergic to both. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new retinol product! AMAZING!!!!!
I've been wanting to try Paula's skincare line for a couple of years (yes, years). I would put the items in the cart but never make the purchase. Well, after purchasing almost every skincare line in dept stores & TV, I decided over Christmas to just buy the whole Resist line.I'm so impressed with the quality and the results. What I love the most is that my skin is moisturized but I never have that greasy look after I put the products on. I'll never use anything else. Great job Paula!
I use to doubt some of the reviews but I'm a believer now...this truly is the most amazing line.
I'm 51, have combination skin (oily T-zone & very dry cheeks) and would get breakouts when I used anything too rich. I have not broken out & within a few days, my skin is in balance and so soft. I've put in 2 other orders since then because I need backups. It also helped to fade the marks I had from previous breakouts that never waneed to go away.
If you're like me and have read the reviews and still sitting on the fence because you're not sure if this line will make a difference, give it a try....you WILL NOT be disappointed. I've spent over $100 on one product and never saw the results I've seen with Palua's products.

PC products are excellent value
Like another reviewer, I am probably least fond of the texture of the daily sunscreen in this kit. I would suggest using Paula's tinted sunscreen, a wonderful product all its own.
All Paula's Choice products are excellent value with quality ingredients, packaging, and customer service. They do what they say they're going to do, which is always good to encounter in skin care lines.

Somethings Missing
All of the products in the RESIST line are incredible! But this system isn't complete without the RESIST ANti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator! Only Paula's Choice for my family!
I bought the RESIST skin care set for my 83-year-old mother's birthday. She and I have fought acne all of our adult lives but both of us have noticed that our skin has gotten drier with age. At first, Mom was resistant to starting to use the set as she didn't want "waste" what she had. I finally persuaded her to try it, and after just one day, she phoned me to say, "It's like a miracle! My skin hasn't looked this good since I was a child!" Six weeks later even family members have noticed the improvement. Mom is thrilled and feels pretty again. The discolorations have nearly faded, her skin is smooth and even. The little milia that plagued her under her eyes are almost gone. I've been using various skin care products from Paula for a few years now. The Resist line has been by far the best for my dry, sensitive skin. I also have mild keratosis pilaris which has significantly improved since trying this line, an unexpected bonus! I've been getting lots of compliments on how great my skin looks. Love the whole line, minus the daily moisturizer
I've been using the entire Resist line for 3 days now and so far, so good, with the exception of the daily moisturizer. After one night of using Resist, my face felt insanely soft, and I can't stop touching my face! Unfortunately the daily moisturizer is pretty thick and doesn't absorb well. I don't dare put makeup over it and therefore won't be able to use it except when I don't want to wear makeup and want to look greasy. I was also surprised at the small size of all of the bottles. Exceeded my expectations
I have enjoyed trying Paula's products over the years. I have fun trying other products (both celebrity endorsed and OTC) and always return to Paula. I'll be 50 next year so I especially appreciate the RESIST line. I don't act 50 and now, I certainly don't look it either! thank you Paula!

Great prodcut, poor packaging
This system has replaced my $350 facials so needless to say it works and I love it so 5 stars for product. The problem is the packaging, it gets 3 stars. The toner and 10% exfoliant are good but the cleanser is a standard pump so it is a pain to get all of the product out of the bottle. The worst are the 5% exfoliant and the moisturizers. They have more complex pumps that make it VERY difficult to get all of the product out of bottles. I don't know what they are thinking with these designs. One of the things I have loved about the other products (see moisture boost hydrating treatment cream) is how easy it is to get all of the product out of the container. Please rethink your packaging then I would give it 5 stars and more if possible. Customer Care Response: Thank you for submitting a review. Resist Anti-Aging a Must Try
I started the Resist Anti Aging line 6 weeks ago. The first few weeks I wondered if it was doing any good, then about the 4th week my skin became softer, but I still wondered if this was for me. All of a sudden after 6 weeks my skin took a round about. I looked into the mirror and could see a difference in skin tone, softness that lasted all day and a glow. I do use over the counter retinol, but that was not the reason it improved. I think it improved because I used all the Resist products in the right order faithfully. Using one or two didn't help, the combination was what helped. So, give it a try and don't skimp or get lazy, you won't be disappointed.

amazed at the quality
I have used Trish McEvoy products for a few years and am most impressed by the aesthics of the brand. After seeing how much it would cost to re-order the skin care I decided to look elsewhere. I am so glad I did! Honestly when I ordered Resist, I knew the products would be good. I thought the packaging would be disappointing but prepared myself for cheap. The products arrived, sooner than expected, beautifully packaged and with accompanying instructions. Seriously the containers are as nice as most department store brands. Awesome product!
My skin has taken a change for the better! For me, every product does what it says it's going to do. One question: When should I use the lightener? I was pretty sure the individual products in the RESIST line were all great, but using them together is the best! I finally started to use the system both morning and evening, and the results are fantastic!! Until two weeks ago I ony took the time to use them together once or twice a week. Learned My Lesson - I am hooked!
I used Paula's Choice products off and on throughout the past 10 years. I was lured away by promises made by Department store cosmetics sales persons and slick magazine ads.
This past year I spent over $1,300.00 on two high-end department store brands skin care lines for mature skin (I am 56). I saw very little difference in my skin after 6 months of religiously using each skin care line. The year before I tried am "As Seen on TV" skin care line promoted by a famous celebrity. The results were not noticeable.
I should have known better but kept seeking the "holy grail" of skin care. So I bought the entire Resist line of skin care and every item delivered exactly as marketed. After 5 weeks I am seeing a visible difference in my skin tone, my skin's smoothness, decreased pore size, and it looks fresher and prettier.
I can now say I have finally learned my lesson. I have not found any products, no matter the price, that truly deliver as promised and are as good a value for the money as Paula's.

I have been a long time Paula's Choice user. In the past year due to medication issues my skin had gone downhill fast, breakouts, milia, redness etc. I decided to try the whole Resist system. I added it in slowly to my normal routine as I ran out of my other PC's cleanser and moisturizer. At first the only change I saw was the loss of redness. But after a couple of weeks my skin started slowly clearing up. Milia going away. My skin tone is much better. Feels softer looks smoother. I am very happy with the results.

i'm truly impressed with the ingredients in every product in the RESIST regimen. i was recently diagnosed with adult acne and between tretinoin and the RESIST regimen my skin really looking good. fast results, my skin color looked healthier and more radiant. after three or four weeks i noticed obvious improvement in texture and firmness. also i'm impressed with how long the products last! i did also add the RESIST clear skin hydrator and i cocktail it with the barrier repair moisturizer and my skin feels fantastic...i went from 'dry' skin to normal pretty much overnight! though i still have a way to go to rid myself of the acne, the overall appearance of my skin truly pleases me...thank you paula and team!

I really like this product but when you close the lid, more cream comes out and the lid becomes a real mess. I've tried several ways to get around it but there is still a lot of cream all over the counter and the lid. This will be my favorite product if the delivery system can be fixed.

This is the first review I have ever written. I had seen Paula on various TV appearances, thought she was interesting. Then a few months ago I bought the book 'Don't go to the cosmetic without me',a great and informative read. I have used dozens and dozens of products and product lines. It seems to me I have been searching for a good skin care line for four decades. About 2 months I ago I placed my first order. In 8 short weeks my skin has totally changes. Those little vertical lines above the upper lip are pretty much gone, my crows feet have disappeared, my skin tone is now even and my normal parched skin now glows. Strangers ask me what I use, and when asked my age, no one believes I just turned 57 years old. I wanted to write and thank you. My mom is one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. She is 66 and about six months ago I saw her looking in the mirror at her skin and sighing. RESIST Advanced Replenishing Toner Skin Remodeling Complex: DIRECTIONS: Use after RESIST Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser. Lightly soak a large cotton pad with RESIST Advanced Replenishing Toner and gently stroke over facial skin. Do not rinse. Follow with Paula's Choice RESIST moisturizer, sunscreen, or treatment product.
RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment with 5% Alpha Hydroxy Acid: DIRECTIONS: Apply daily after cleansing and using a non-BHA Paula's Choice toner. Dispense 1–2 pumps and smooth over entire face. Follow with a Paula's Choice RESIST Antioxidant Concentrate Serum and/or RESIST Barrier Repair Moisturizer. First-time users should apply once daily, preferably at night. For maximum results, alternate with RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid once per week. Avoid direct contact with eyes.
Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.
RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid: DIRECTIONS: Apply only at night after cleansing and toning. Using a cotton pad, gently stroke a dime-sized amount over the entire face. It can be left on or rinsed off after 10 minutes depending on your skin's sensitivity. Follow with a Paula's Choice RESIST antioxidant serum and/or moisturizer. On the night(s) you use this Treatment do not use other exfoliants or scrubs at the same time. In the mornings you can use other exfoliants as per your normal routine.
RESIST Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum: DIRECTIONS: At night, smooth a few drops onto skin after cleansing, toning, and exfoliating. May be applied under or over moisturizer. May be worn under makeup and applied around the eyes. May be used twice per day if desired.

RESIST Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser features a completely different texture than Skin Recovery Cleanser. Although both are water soluble cleansing lotions, RESIST Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser has a lighter, silkier feel designed to work better for dry, sun damaged skin. What's more, it also serves as the perfect first step in your RESIST skin-care routine, setting you up for younger-looking, healthier skin.
How is RESIST Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser "antiaging"?
The gentle formula cleanses skin by not disrupting its barrier. As a result, with each use you're not rinsing key elements skin needs to look younger and healthier down the drain. By keeping your skin's barrier more intact during the cleansing process, your skin is able to hold on to the naturally-occurring elements it needs to strengthen and repair itself. When your skin-care routine respects skin's barrier integrity and replenishes it with the ingredients it needs to look and act younger, you will see more youthful skin!
What do toners "tone"? I thought Paula didn't recommend toners!
Paula has always recommended toners that are well-formulated. Toners can be a great after-cleansing step to be sure you've removed all your makeup. When properly formulated, they soothe skin and provide an extra dose of antioxidants and repairing ingredients.
What are the main differences between the five Paula's Choice toners?
Every Paula's Choice toner repairs skin, provides antioxidants, and helps remove last traces of makeup. They do not contain alcohol, fragrance, or unnecessary irritants such as menthol, peppermint, and citrus oils. Below you'll find a brief description for each distinct toner.
RESIST Advanced Replenishing Toner is a specialized formula designed to supply aging skin with a broad range of ingredients it needs to produce healthy collagen while reducing wrinkles. It is a super-charged version of our popular Skin Recovery Toner, with a specific emphasis on improving the signs of aging skin.
Hydralight Healthy Skin Refreshing Toner is an excellent choice for normal to oily/combination skin. It provides a weightless finish, and although it feels very light, it supplies skin with potent antioxidants and anti-irritants.
Moisture Boost Hydrating Toner contains a broad range of ingredients that aid skin's barrier repair process so those with dry skin will receive even more benefit from their Paula's Choice moisturizer and/or specialty product. Moisture Boost Hydrating feels lighter than our Skin Recovery Toner.
Skin Recovery Toner for normal to very dry skin is for those who need more help protecting their skin from environmental damage or dryness. Skin Recovery Toner has a rich, milky liquid texture and contains more plant oils and other emollients for intense hydration. Excellent for rosacea!
Skin Balancing Toner for normal to oily/combination skin is excellent to help normalize skin and reduce signs of extreme combination skin (oily and dry areas). Its cell-communicating ingredients help balance skin and reduce enlarged pores.

How should I alternate using RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment with RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment?
RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment is recommended for use at night, at least once but up to 4 or 5 times per week depending on how your skin responds. Since we do not advise using other exfoliants at the same time as RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment, you can apply RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment as part of your morning skin-care routine or on night(s) you do not apply the RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment. In the morning, if desired, you can apply RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment after cleansing and toning or you can limit use of the Daily Smoothing Treatment to nighttime (this is best for first-time users). For daytime, follow with a serum and/or moisturizer or foundation rated SPF 15 or greater.
How does the RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment differ from the 8% Alpha Hydroxy Acid Gel?
While both of these products are AHA exfoliants, the texture and overall formulas differ. The RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment is an advanced AHA lotion that contains 5% glycolic acid and numerous antiaging ingredients designed to improve wrinkles. The 8% AHA Gel contains 8% glycolic acid formulated in a silky gel base with soothing agents and antioxidants. Both are excellent products but RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment offers additional benefits that go beyond what our 8% AHA Gel does, especially if wrinkles are a chief concern.
Can I use RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment with one of the RESIST skin lighteners?
Yes, but not at the same time unless they are applied to separate areas of your face. This is because both of our RESIST skin lighteners contain an exfoliant (the Lotion has glycolic acid and the Gel has salicylic acid). If you're using one of our RESIST skin lighteners, you may apply it in the morning or on the nights you do not apply the RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment or apply the skin lightener only to discolorations and apply RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment over the rest of your face.
Can I use RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment at the same time as one of Paula's Choice BHA products?
Yes, but ultimately it is not necessary to use an AHA and BHA exfoliant at the same time. Exfoliation is a balancing act that requires not tipping the scale so the potential for irritation outweighs the benefits. Using multiple exfoliants at the same time increases the likelihood of irritation and doesn't necessarily provide greater benefits. If you'd like to use a BHA product and RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment, we recommend applying one in the morning and the other in the evening. Is it OK to use RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment more than once per week
Yes, but we do not recommend doing so until you've seen how your skin responds to this treatment. Overuse may not provide better results; most people will find using this at night either once a week or up to 2 or 3 times per week produces great results, and you can use another Paula's Choice exfoliant on other nights. If you have advanced sun damage 4 or 5 times week may be extremely beneficial.
How should I alternate using RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment?
RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment is recommended for use at night, at least once but up to 4 or 5 times per week. Since we do not advise using other exfoliants at the same time that you apply RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment, you can apply RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment as part of your morning skin-care routine or on nights you do not apply the RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment. In the morning, RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment should be applied after cleansing and toning. Follow with a serum and/or moisturizer or foundation rated SPF 15 or greater.
How does the RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment differ from the 8% Alpha Hydroxy Acid Gel?
The RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment is a specialized AHA product that not only contains a higher concentration of glycolic acid than our original 8% AHA Gel, but also includes a penetration enhancer to help it work faster and deeper. RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment also features a unique delivery system and is formulated with several potent anti-irritants and antioxidants such as green tea, which is proven to stimulate collagen and elastin production.
Can I use RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with one of the RESIST skin lighteners?
Yes, but not at the same time. This is because both of our RESIST skin lighteners contain an exfoliant (the Lotion has glycolic acid and the Gel has salicylic acid). If you're using one of our RESIST skin lighteners, you may apply it in the morning or on the nights you do not apply the RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment.
Can I use RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment at the same time as one of Paula's Choice BHA products?
We do not recommend the use of any other exfoliant, including Paula's Choice BHA products with salicylic acid, be applied at the same time as RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment. Doing so increases the risk of irritation that excessive exfoliation can cause and irritation is never the goal. It is fine to apply any of our BHA products in the morning or on the nights you are not applying RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment.

What if my skin experiences a stinging or tingling sensation from RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment?
Upon application to cleansed, toned skin, some people may experience a small amount of tingling or feel a stinging sensation. This is normal and it should dissipate quickly and stop with ongoing use. If the tingling or stinging sensation does not stop or worsens, or if your skin becomes red or feels like it's burning, immediately rinse RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with plain water and gently pat dry. Should this occur, ongoing use is not recommended. You may want to try another Paula's Choice exfoliant and our Customer Service team is happy to help you select an alternate option.
I am using a prescription retinoid product (i.e. Renova, Retin-A). Is it OK for me to use RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment?
Yes, but be aware that the prescription retinoid may increase your skin's sensitivity to this AHA treatment. We recommend proceeding with caution, and only applying RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment once per week. You would apply it before your prescription retinoid product and either rinse the Resurfacing Treatment after 10 minutes or wait until it has absorbed before applying your prescription retinoid.

How does RESIST Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum differ from the other Antioxidant Concentrates that Paula's Choice offers?
RESIST Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum is a vitamin C-rich product that contains a blend of potent antioxidants research has shown work quickly to reduce inflammation, stimulate healthy collagen production, and promote firmer skin that's better able to withstand environmental damage. This serum is the only one Paula offers that does not contain retinol. Some people cannot tolerate retinol, making RESIST Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum a great alternative.

For casual wear, meaning less than four hours total time out in the sun, it is not necessary to reapply this moisturizer with sunscreen as you will be protected all day. If you are perspiring or just spending a longer period of time outdoors, it should be reapplied every few hours to maintain the stated level of protection.
How is RESIST Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25 different from Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion SPF 15?
Although both products provide reliable broad-spectrum sun protection, RESIST Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25 offers a greater amount of sun protection. The RESIST formula contains titanium dioxide as its active ingredient while Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion contains a blend of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Both formulas contain antioxidants to help defend skin against signs of aging, but each has its own blend.
Texture-wise, these two daytime moisturizers with sunscreen are quite similar. Both provide hydration and a silky, radiant finish those with normal to dry skin will appreciate best. RESIST Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25 leaves less sheen on skin when compared to Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion SPF 15.
