Amazing
This is such a great product! I don't know what it is about it, but once I put it on my skin looks growly and supple. I don't wear any make up, but with this it looks like I wear BB cream. When you first apply it there's a bit of a white cast, but it dissipates quickly. Another great thing is that it doesn't break me, even when I accidentally fall asleep in the library (other sunscreens do). I recommend this product wholeheartedly

Best All-Mineral Sunscreen to Date
I think every all-mineral sunscreen is heavy, white & shiny to some degree. But this new one by Paula is the best I have found. Yes, it is heavy enough that I know I am wearing it. And yes, I do need a light dusting of powder over it because I prefer a more matte finish. But the real joy to me is that it gives my fair skin a slightly more pale appearance but it does not give me a white cast or worst of all, that horrible blue-white cast some mineral sunscreens give. It's hard for me to believe I am saying this, but I actually think my skin looks better when I am wearing this sunscreen. I don't wear foundation or any tinted lotions. I wear nothing by my daily sunscreen & a little powder. But this product actually seems to even out my skin tone, like a perfectly-matched foundation would do! I never thought I would be able to say that about any sunscreen and I feel like I have tried them all. I gave up on all-mineral sunscreens some time ago and have been using Paula's chemical ones. But I never stopped wishing to find an all-mineral one that I would actually enjoy using. THIS IS IT! Thank you, Paula!

Wonderful!
I really love this stuff. The consistency is perfect for my dry, sensitive skin -- it's nice and creamy and feels great on the skin. I've tried lots of others that have felt 'off' on my skin, and this one just feels really comfortable. It does leave a bit of a cast but I expect that with mineral sunscreen, and I'm kind of impressed by how slight the cast is (though to be fair, I am as white as a sheet).
I just ordered two more so I won't run out any time soon!

a winner for sensitive, combination skin
I love the fact that this is an all-titanium dioxide sunscreen. Avobenzone and zinc oxide both break me out. It's also a dream in winter, when my combination skin needs a little bit more moisture. However, at first I thought it was too greasy for summer use. But I discovered it works fine if either I let it dry for several minutes, or pair it with a more mattifying foundation (one for oily skin). My current HG routine is: Resist SPF 25 + skin balancing serum + shine stopper (dabbed on oily areas) + Chanel mat lumiere foundation + Zuzu powder. My makeup lasts for 12 hours with just occasional use of blot sheets and powder touch-ups.

Excellent!
This is the best moisturizer with SPF I've ever tried. Like most other Paula's Choice products, it doesn't make my ultra sensitive, breakout-prone skin react negatively. I was looking for a mineral SPF product with enough protection from the southern, summer sun...and I believe I have found it! Truthfully, it is slightly too emollient for my skin type, but her other Mineral sunscreen is only SPF 15, so this is my best bet. I love that it's loaded with antioxidants!

Exactly what i was looking for!
I love this moisturizer. It keeps my skin hydrated all day long. Also it perfectly evened out my pale skin and made my spider veins considerably less noticable...I do not need to use foundation over the whole face any longer.

excellent ingredient
I love the texture and the active ingredient. However, u have to change the packaging coz there is no lid and it makes the dirt and dust stays on the surface. Otherwise, I love it coz it's not too greasy. Thanks for the great product.

Fantastic Product
I've been on the hunt for a good sunscreen for a long time. I used to use Paula's daily mattifying lotion with SPF 15, which I liked a lot, but the SPF just wasn't high enough for me. Then I switched to an Olay Regenerist product with SPF 50 which was just so-so, but I used because of the high SFP factor. I got some samples of this cellular defense moisturizer with SPF and fell in love! I am 31 and have combination skin that's prone to breakouts, but I've been wanting to shift my skincare to include anti-aging products as well. This totally fits the bill! Yes, if you use too much product you might end up with a white film on your face, so play around with what is the right amount for you. I've found that when I apply the right amount, it really does leave a healthy sheen to my skin, and in fact makes it seem less shiny than it normally would if left bare. I give it about 5 minutes to soak in and then apply a light tinted moisturizer over top, and that's it! My skin looks fantastic - it's more even, I swear my pores look smaller, and I just have an all over healthy glow. Thanks, Paula!

GREAT product!
This wonderful cream goes on a little shiny, but give it 2 minutes, and you're naturally matte again. The sun protection is superb (I walk to/from work), the formulation consistent from opening until empty. It's also great under concealer/foundation/powder... just wait 1-2 minutes after applying RESIST. Thank you so much for this, I'm ordering more today.

Leaves a lot of residue
Have had great results with other RESIST products, so was looking forward to using the Cellular Defence to incorporate sun protection as well. However, I find that it leaves a lot of white residue, in the same way a thick normal sunscreen would. My skin is normal to dry, so I was quite surprised. When I put my makeup on over the top it ends up looking really pale, so I will probably only use it occasionally in future. I would consider trying one of the different sunscreens with moisturiser if you prefer a lighter texture/result. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Watery Eyes!
I wish I could continue using this product because it goes on so smooth and creamy and feels good on my skin but something about it irritates my eyes and causes them to water. The delivery system, although annoying, is not an issue for me since the cap can be removed. The shine is. It's too shiny. In addition, it feels heavy and stings my eyes, too. I used this as part of the skin lightening system but it really dries out my already dry skin and causes some irritation too.By the end of the day I can't wait to cleanse my face and get rid of it! I have been looking for a moisturizer like this. I have dry skin and it leaves my skin silky and moist. I wish the night time one felt as good. And I had no trouble with the cap. Just take it off and squeeze just a little out. A little goes a long way.

Higher SPF is great, but could be improved.
I was excited to try this product when it was new. The ingredients list was impressive and I prefer a mineral sunscreen for my sensitive skin and eyes.
Benefits- Higher SPF, Slightly drying, good for skin when blemished, Antioxidants great.
Issues- Packaging causes too much product to come out, after washing it off or using regularly, it can make skin quite dry. A bit too thick to apply to a completely dry face. While it is on, it can feel quite moisturizing, but is also quite shiny. Using less feels quite dry. White cast is not flattering for most people. By the end of the day, this typically gets to my eyes and WOW it really dries them out. The only solution I've found is to wash thoroughly when I get home and use a washcloth to thoroughly clean around eyes otherwise it's quite drying at night.
I would probably use this formula when at the beach or outdoor activities, but it is not better than Alba or other mineral sunscreens.
My preference is for light usage of the skin recovery daily moisturizing lotion, the SPF could be higher (30 is better for me) but this one has a relatively matte finish, neither too greasy nor too drying.
Perhaps this will always be the problem with higher SPF Mineral sunscreens -more drying, thus requiring more emollients. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. 3-26-12: As soon as I saw the promotional email for this moisterizer/sunscreen, I ordered it. I had received samples of it and LOVED it. Like many others, I do not like to use sunscreen products with avobenzone, etc, so I love the fact that this is purely titanium dioxide. I have combination/oily skin, and this does not break me out at all. That may partially be due to the fact that I use other Resist products (which I LOVE!) Yes, you get a white-ish cast to your face *initially*, but give it a minute or two and it goes away. When I do wear foundation, I use a mineral make-up and this works excellently for me. I work out regularly and I have noticed no burning or stinging when I sweat hard. I am extremely happy with this product, and all the Paula's Choice products I have tried. The price is comparable or better than many inferior products and PC stands behind their lines. THANKS!

Too thick and shiny
I really wanted this to work for me as I have been searching for a pure titanium dioxide based daytime moisturizer, but unfortunately this made my skin very shiny and felt tacky -- it just doesn't seem to sink into my skin. It's not a problem I usually have because my skin is not oily (dry/combination). I tried using a very small amount but it still felt too heavy and looked shiny and I was concerned that I wasn't getting sufficient sun protection. I have no doubt the formula is good, but the texture may not work for everyone. Correction...
I needed to amend my rating to 5 stars, because even with the burning when it got into my eyes, this product is GREAT. AND I need to retract my statement about not working well with liquid foundations. I pulled out my favorite liquid, Paula's Choice Best Face Forward (hadn't tried using it with this moisturizer with SPF) and applied it this morning. All I can say is, WOW. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I had previously only tried a new Avon liquid foundation over the Resist Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer, with poor results.
My regular foundation is still going to be a powder one as it's fast,easy, and looks great (I don't know about you, but I sure don't have a lot of time to spend putting on makeup in the morning). But at least now, I know I can use Paula's BFF liquid foundation when I DO have the time, and the results will be GREAT. :)

Too thick and greasy
I was really excited to try this moisturizer as my skin is easily irritated by Avobenzene and I wanted a higher SPF day time moisturizer. This moisturizer is very thick, and feels more like I'm applying sunblock to my face than moisturizer. It is also difficult to dispense the correct amount of product from the tube. I find I either have too much or too little. When it is too much, it is difficult to not have a white cast hence the sunblock like feel. I also feel kind of greasy once I have this on. I have rather dry skin, so that a moisturizer makes my skin feel greasy is very unpleasant. This definitely will not be comfortable to where in the summer when it is hot. Very disappointing. Pretty Happy...
I was surprised to see all the negative comments when I got online to post a review... I solved the cap dispensing issue easily enough: I squeeze up 2/3 of what I need to cover my face and throat, then twist to close. The extra bit that comes up with the twist close, gives me the remainder of what I need. If I've gotten pretty good at it now. :)
As for performance, it works well for me. It is thick, and a bit tacky right after application, so I allow time for absorption by getting dressed. I use a powder foundation over it, because it seems to work the best with this moisturizer/sunscreen. Liquid foundations don't work well (I've tried several) but cream type foundations work fine. My only complaint: it burns like CRAZY if it gets into my eyes (sweating during a workout).

OK, guys, compared to all other SPF products available from lauder to you name it, this ingredient list is stunning to read. The protection you get is superb. I have used it now for a whole week , and i use a lot and no breakouts. My skin is silky and smooth at night. Fixed my dry patches from the Retin_a I have been using. If I go out in public i use less, if im going to the gym i use a lot !

i have to agree with others the cap is a problem...also the white casting this product produces is not very nice...it also makes my eyes water ..i think from the sunscreen..not very pleased with this product. Very protective , however it's very drying on my skin , leaves me looking like a ghost , then having to apply makeup over it , my skin is to dry , so I wash it off and no longer use it?!?!? Great product, poor packaging
As I have seen several others with my same problem I just wanted to share my experience. As usual Paula and her team came out with a wonderful product. However, not long after I started using it the twist cap fell off and has not been able to stay on or not be able to squeeze out a decent amount since. 'cap' problem solved
I, too, was initially frustrated with the excess amount of product that was released every time I tisted the cap closed. Epiphany finally solved the dilemma: twist the cap shut when you are 'almost' done and use the small amount left on the cap for your last application. For me, it's my forehead or chin.

Wasteful packaging for an otherwise great product
I love this product, but feel a little bit "duped" by the way it is packaged. As other reviewers have mentioned, quite a bit of product is dispensed as you are closing the dispenser. I have tried to adjust how much I dispense to make up for this, but I seem to waste a lot of this cream. This irks me when I have paid a healthy price for a product - plus shipping - only to waste it. Aside from the packaging, this is a fabulous cream - it absorbs beautifully, makes my skin look amazing, and feels wonderful. The sunscreen is a wonderful option for me as I can be sensitive to more traditional formulations. I hate to give this wonderful cream such a low rating, but the way it is packaged makes me think twice about reordering for sure. Please change the packaging!!! a winner for dry skin
This is a very thick, rich formula that will work best on really dry skin. I love it for the winter months, but already know it is way too heavy to use during the summer. Yes, there is a white cast and a heavy, slightly greasy feel upon application, but both of these disappear almost immediately. I let the moisturizer sink into my skin for a couple of minutes before applying makeup.

I really like the idea of not having to add a sunblock to my morning regimen and figured this would fit the bill nicely. This broke out my skin almost immediately, but I continued using it, thinking it may be a hormonal issue. It wasn't. I have break outs every other day. Great for Dry Skin
This is a great all in one product (skin care, moisturizer and sunblock) that works very well by itself or under makeup IF you have skin that tends to be on the dry side. Be sure to let it absorb and it will work very well under a light dusting of mineral powder or liquid foundation.
Can't believe that people are so put out by the cap-- just work with it, and if a bit cextra comes out-- put it on your decollete or hands-- come on people!. Paula, keep making this product.

Why not offer a tinted version???
I'm a less is more kind of gal when it comes to skincare and makeup, probably because I have super sensitive irritable skin. I'd rather wear nothing, but the history of melanoma in my family is enough to keep me searching for the perfect sunscreen. I've found this product to be fabulous, except for the fact that I am forced to wear some kind of makeup over it. The whitish cast it leaves behind makes me look creepy! Is there a tinted version in the works? I'd be forever greatful! Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Not a fan
I really wish that I had read these reviews before buying. To echo many others, it goes on white and requires some work to disperse. Plus it leaves my skin quite oily. I use a liquid makeup and it doesn't go on over this moisturizer very well. I'm sure it's a great sunscreen but I don't need such a potent one all year. Love the product and love the lid!
I do not get the problem with the lid (cap). After one use, you get it and go on. It makes an excellent seal and is so easy to use. Now the product. It's great. No problem with the white skin--it disappears quickly and I am able to use my makeup. Very nice product and I will continue to use it.

Fantastic for winter skin & rosacea!
I love this cream! It's hydrating, offers the potential for excellent sun protection, behaves well under makeup, and isn't irritating to rosacea. So why 4 instead of 5 stars? The price. It's so pricey, I find myself tempted to scrimp on sun protection: A big Paula no-no. I hope there's a way to economize somehow: larger packages, bulk discounts...something... because this cream really is the holy grail!

Great Cream, Fantastic Packaging!
I have normal to slightly dry skin with a slightly oily T-zone. At first I thought this cream might be too rich for me but when I tried it, I was pleasantly surprised. Even though I also wear a foundation over top I don't find it too heavy. I make sure I do not apply too much and I most likely will only wear it in the winter. I was actually looking for a day cream with a mineral sunscreen versus chemical for our harsh winter climate here but without the usual greasiness. This product fulfills all of these criteria beautifully! I would also like to mention the absolutely brilliant packaging! It is absolutely airtight which I understand, is crucial for the preservation of the valuable and very unstable antioxidants etc. It would be of great value if Paula's other creams were packaged the same way! However, in other formulas, airtight is not necessary, and the formulas maintain their stability perfectly with small amounts of air exposure. Paula's Choice has tested these extensively at all stages of their use to guarantee this. I've really fallen in love with this sunscreen. My skin is sensitive - chemical sunscreens always cause breakouts, and sometimes zinc oxide does as well. So a titanium-dioxide only sunscreen is perfect. Though I would prefer a matte finish for my combination skin, especially in the summer, the moist consistency isn't a problem. I apply, follow with Paula's mattifying serum, and then let dry for 5-10 min before applying my Zuzu liquid foundation, Paula's shine stopper, and Zuzu powder. The shine stopper occasionally breaks me out (prompting extra BHA exfoliation), but the Resist sunscreen never does. It's a little pink/white, but less so than other physical sunblocks I've used; as long as I cover both face and neck, the slight color change is not a problem.

I love this moisturizer and use it every day. If you rub it in well there is no problem with it leaving a white looking residue, all I see is my skin and it feels great not dry and not greasy. I just started using Paula's products and they are great. I'll also say I have no problem with the top on this product, I know a little of the moisturizer is going to come out so I leave a place on my face to use that extra bit. I love these products and my skin could not look better, thank you Palua!!

I absolutely love this moisturizer! It's not too thick at all too me--I do have very dry skin though so this could also be it. I love the glow my face gets instantly after applying. My skin feels moisturized for hours after I have applied it. I am only a few days in so I imagine the results will only get better. It says it's an A.M moisturizer but I like using it at night as well--I think that's OK to do so. It doesn't leave a thick white film for me at all. It's worth a try. I only wish the bottle were bigger. I can tell I will be going through this fairly quickly.

Didn't like the texture.
I really wanted to like this but it felt heavy and waxy on my skin without making it feel more moisturized. I also noticed more blemishes. Not for oily skin!!
I bought the Resist system. I love all of the products and they work fabulously on my skin - except for this moisturizer with sunscreen. It leaves my face extremely sticky and greasy. The longer I keep it on, the worse it gets. It would be nice to have skin type specific options when purchasing the entire Resist kit. My face is naturally oily and this moisturizer makes it much worse. I keep trying to wear it because I know I need a good sunscreen while using the other products, but I can't stand how it feels on my face. I guess I will either have to use a lower spf or find another product elsewhere (which I hate to do). Aside from this issue - I completely love Paula's products and I'm very thankful for her expertise and committment! Great product
After reading other reviews I was concerned that I wouldn't like this sunscreen. However, I love it! It does go on a little white and shiny but it soon fades leaving my skin very soft. Some people complained of the packaging. I just unscrew the cap and squeeze out what I need. Not a big deal.

I have been using Paula's products since she first started producing them. I've never felt compelled before to right a review. However, this is the ABSOLUTE BEST moisturizer I have ever used in my life (I'm 55 years old). For those of you who say it is too oily, please watch Paula's video first -- this product is "recommended" for people with normal/dryskin -- certainly not oily skin. I actually love the cap because I take that extra amount and rub it on my hands, and now the brown spots on my hands are disappearing. Please do not change a thing about this product.

Amazing, soothing sunscreen! This was a bit heavy for me during the warm weather when it was first released, but I am in love with it now during the winter. I live in the city and am always walking places, despite the weather. My skin was becoming dry, red, and raw from the wind and cold, but within 3 days of switching back to this, my face was healed and all sensitivity soothed! I feel protected from the sun AND the biting wind, cold, and dry air!
I am I seem to be among the minority with this, but I'd also like to add that I love the twist dispenser! It makes it so quick and easy to get on my sunscreen and get out the door! I really appreciate not having to fumble with a cap and use two hands. With this, time is never an excuse not to apply sunscreen. I am very sorry to hear that the cap will be changed, but relieved that the product is hear to stay! Thank you again, Paula.

Great product, bad packaging
I've been using this product for about a week and so far so good, but was very disappointed to discover the dispensing method and packaging. The twist base seems like a good idea, but becomes quite akward and I end up with product all over my fingers as I try to scrape off the 'excess' which leaks out the base. Loved the product, but...
Fantastic product, but the packaging...not so much. I see now that when you screw the top closed, a small amount leaks out of the dispenser. Of course, you can adjust, but it's messy and not worth it -- enough for me to reconsider my next purchase, considering the cost. Too bad: I love the product and its results. Sigh. Great product
I have so far gone through five tubes of this product, and I have found every reviewer's opinion to bear some truth, those who love it AND those who don't. I did find the "letting air in" comments a bit odd, less air is let in by the packaging than would be if the top were fully removed every time. And I learned to work with that extra bit of product that comes out after the top is closed, as another reviewer stated, just dispense a little less. I have not found this to be messy, I wipe up every bit with my fingers.
As to the effectiveness, I think it is a great product, yes, skin is whitish (and I have fair skin) and yes skin can appear "greasy", I just blot any excess oil with a tissue after allowing the product to absorb and dry for around five minutes. I'd rather the bit of shine, since healthy, glowing skin has a bit of shine, to having something completely matte ... which would just make me look older. I have slightly oily skin, but prefer the hydration, so in the summer, I just blot a bit more, but no breakouts, no problems, just comments about how good my skin looks, how young I look for my age.
I use a primer, before applying my base, and have not found any problems applying my makeup, every item I use has sunscreen, so perhaps I apply a bit less of the product than some might who do not do this, no matter, I make sure I am well protected, and I have never burned (or picked up any color!) with a Paula's Choice sunscreen product.
So that, with being told I look ten to fifteen years younger than my true age, that is the best review of all.
Even better, in the approximately four to five years that I have used Paula's Choice products, I have been told that I am looking YOUNGER over time.
That, says a lot.

The search is over!
This is the first all mineral SPF that I have been able to apply on a daily basis. Prior to using this product, I had several sunscreens in rotation I would alternate depending on what I felt like using that day. Mineral sunscreen actives tend to break me out when used daily, but I have had no problems with this. I have very fair skin, so the slight white cast has not been an issue for me, as it practically vanishes on me as it absorbs. On me it actually looks more glowy and translucent, which is flattering on my normal to dry skin. It provides a good amount of hydration and I've noticed that the more I use it, the softer and smother my skin feels. Overall great product! My only slight complaint is that I would prefer a flip top tube and although the current packaging is not my favorite, it is workable and would not stop me from continuing to purchase the product. I would also love a larger size, as the small bottle won't last long when applied liberally on a daily basis.

Perfect Mineral Sunscreen
Yes, it goes on whitish as do all mineral sunscreens ever, but the texture is much less tacky than the other brands I've tried and it makes my skin so soft without flaking off as other mineral sunscreens will do. I'm pretty pale, so don't mind the white cast, but sometimes I add a little bit of Aveda tinted moisturizer (to retain a decent amount of the spf) and I find that cuts the whitish cast really well. Highly highly recommend. Please don't stop making it! My skin has never looked better.

Wonderful Daytime Morsturizer For Sensitive Skin
I've tired a number of moisturizers with SPF. This is the first thing that works beautifully under Paula's Barely There Tint. My African American family has a history of sun damage so I've been vigilant about protecting my skin. The antioxidants are a bonus. I'll never be without this product.

Great product
I recently stopped using some of the Resist products because I was lured by another brand. Big mistake! My face broke out and now I'm back to using Resist. I like this product. I have very dry skin and the product absorbs quickly. I don't mind the "white" cream because I know I'm getting A+ sunscreen coverage. I'm 60, menopausal, and this is a truly great product.

Fantastic product! Please don't change a thing!
I can only use all-mineral products on my sensitive skin, so I am used to the "issues" with zinc oxide/titanium oxide. The "whitish" cast fades as the product absorbs, but it would be no big deal to me if it makes my face a little paler, as protecting my skin from the sun is paramount. I like the texture, and it has not separated or gotten too thick for me - it feels like a souffle for the face, perfect for anyone who is trying to "Resist" the aging process! (Maybe storage is causing the issue some describe? It rarely gets under 75F in my home.) The products I was using before I found this felt too "thin", sweating off quickly in Florida's heat and humidity, whereas this product holds up well. Also, most competitors' products don't have the level of antioxidants this one has.
I haven't had any problem with dispensing; in fact, I think this dispenser is wonderful, as I usually fumble with getting the cap back on a bottle/tube before the product gets exposed. Maybe this product and its packaging is not right for everyone, but for people like me, it's ideal - I hope you don't change a thing!

good for dry skin
For me this is a great moisturizer for the dry winter months. It does goe on with a slight white cast but disappears soon. It's a bit annoying to have the extra product squirt out; as a previous reviewer mentioned, you can anticipate this and just squeeze out less first, but no other PC packaging does this, so it would be great to have it fixed. You have to be smarter than the bottle!
Love the resist cellular defense daily moisturizer, spf 25. Goes on great, have had no breakouts and have no problems with the bottle...for those who are complaining that they get extra when they close it, why don't they just dispense less than they really need, and then they'll get that extra when they close the bottle, seriously, it's not that hard! Paula's products are the best!

I really love this sunscreen. I have very dry, sensitive skin, and this is the first product with an SPF over 15 that I have ever been able to use without my face burning. The creamy, gentle formula acts like a perfect base to my foundation, and for me the soft mineral effect that others have mentioned is a good thing. It absorbs quickly and evens out my skin tone in a flattering way. I wear it alone with translucent mineral powder on casual days and feel that the finish is almost as nice as when I wear makeup.
I did find that my formula sort of separated over time and lost it's whipped consistency, but it still applies the same. Yes, the cap does squeeze a tiny bit more out when you close it, but that is so simply remedied by judicial measuring that I'm surprised it bothers anyone.
This is a great product, Paula. Please don't stop making it!

Great Eye Cream!
I, personally, found the Cellular Defence Daily Moisturizer too heavy to use in the Summer, however, my sister, who has dry skin loves it. I was listing to Paula's Blog Talk Radio recently and Bryan suggested using this as an eyecream because it has the SPF 25. I would have never thought to do that. I tried it, and it works great. I experience no irritation from the sunblock ingredients, and I love the fact that I am protecting my eye area from further sun damage. Thanks for the tip!

Use a Little
Used this product and it goes on rather thick. It did not absorb into my skin quickly, but sat on the surface until I rubbed it in. If I didn't pay attention, it shows up in the line/fold of my neck as white line. This wasn't a winner for me.

I can't recommend this product. As all the reviews have said, it really does go on white, have a strange texture and feel tacky. The cap dispenser is not good, and gets messier over time. Love it, but too pricey
I absolutely LOVE this sunscreen, the texture is great and most importantly it protects my skin really well. It's also smooth under makeup, not greasy or heavy feeling. Unfortunately it gets a 4 and I won't buy it again because it's just way too pricey for how much you get. Totally bummed. Great for renova user
I read the other reviews before purchasing this. I have an oily t-zone but use a renova generic product (Retreive)all over my face, so have to be careful to use a sunscreen. I prefer the physical blocker sunscreens. I was using clinique city block and on some days Paula's mattifying sunscreen. I love this one the most as it makes my skin just glow and I've had no breakouts from use. It works wonderfully with Paula's healthy skin pressed powder over it. One thing about the cap, I take the whole cap off before squeezing the amount I need direct from the tube, so haven't encountered any problems like users who use the cap as the dispenser.

Love the product, hate the cap!
I don't understand why they use this dumb cap on a really good product, I found Paula's Choice because I was looking for a good product at a reasonable price three -four years ago, and this cap is a waste of product, I don't like the idea of air getting to the moisturizer, let alone the fact that when all is done you are going to end up with at least 1/2 oz of product that you won't be able to get out of the cap.. that's money down the drain!!Customer Care Response: Thank you for your feedback. Almost Perfect
I like the texture and additional SPF (25), but it falls prey to white face (just like every product that uses predominantly zinc/titanium dioxide for sun protection).
The white cast isn't as bad as some of the other zinc/titanium based products on the market. So it may work well for you.
I'm a very pale skinned male, so it essentially turns me into a ghost. However, I do still use it on days that I wear a tinted sun block over it (Paula's Sheer Matte Tint). Yes, that is technically "makeup" and I am a red-blooded, masculine male, but it works. It negates the white cast and I don't look like I'm wearing makeup.
I would love to see this product, or any other product, with an SPF 25 that doesn't produce the white face. Maybe even the Sheer Matte Tint. Customer Care Response: Thank you for the feedback!

This is a great sunscreen for me during the fall, spring, and winter. Too moisturizing during the summer when the humidity jumps up due to rain.
Goes on with a slight white cast that dissappointed me at first, but dissappears and becomes satin/matte after about 5 minutes.
I have used aimilar skinmedica before and this is better and cheaper.
The tube has a stupid cap on it that twists open and stays exposed to dust and the surface of whatever you put it down on. Not a dealbreaker, but still dumb. Would prefer a regular screw on cap or better yet, a flip top cap.
This stuff is really fantastic. Would like a higher spf option. This and the skin balancing mattifying are my favorite sunscreens from Paula. This one is more moisturizing.
I do not like the spray on ultralight spf 30. It's oily feeling and smells like chemical sunscreen, but this Resist one and the mattifying ROCK!

Disappointing.
I love the rest of the Resist line but this product disappointed in many ways:too thick,tacky, greasy,and make- up did not glide over it. The cap dispensor is very unsanitary.(product smears allover the cap that has set out on counter or in make up bag. Impressive
Finally! A mineral based sunscreen that feels wonderful! This makes my skin luminous. I have oily skin but it is sensitive so it is difficult finding a sunscreen that I can wear comfortably. I ordered a bunch of samples of this and fell in love! It is not greasy at all and seems to make my skin act more "normal". I usually am powdering my face often during the day but I only powdered it twice from 6:30 all through dinnertime! It really makes my skin glow without looking oily...just healthy. Awesome product!

Great product, bad packaging
I have been using this for a month now. While it does give a bit of shine, it also moisturizes and has a good whallop of sunscreen to protect my redhead fair skin. My only complaint (and the reason it doesn't get a 5 star rating) is the packaging. Squeezing out the desired amount to use is difficult because screwing the top back down after reveals another good dime sized amount of product. I've had to start removing the cap entirely. Getting better
This is another one of Paula's new improved products. With a full spectrum sunscreen, it really protects and moisturizes my mid-50s skin. I also use Resist Barrier Repair moisturizer at night, and my skin appears years younger. I would a prefer a flip top cap though. The product also separated a bit right before the tube was finished which was why I gave it four stars instead of five.

First Sunscreen/Moisturizer that I can use!
Paula, in all years you've been advocating sunscreen in your moisutrizer, I've never been able to find a product that gave me a moisturized feeling and still have sufficient UVA/UVB protection. So I've had to layer a good moisturizer under a good sunscreen to get protection, at the expense of time, money and layers! No more!!! This goes on smoothly, makes my face feel moisturized, lasts all day, and gives great UVA/UVB protection. It is also now my #1 hand cream. I just lost the tube I carry in my pocketbook and I'm distraught. Ordering a bunch right now. If you've never loved a moisturizer with sunscreen, you're about to be wowed!!

This is the best sunscreen-moisturizer combination I have ever used on my sensitive skin!! Thank you to Paula's Choice customer service for recommending this product. Apply Resist right after your exfoliant for easy blending. The white-ish sheen disappears after a few minutes and my skin feels and looks great.

Of all Paula's sun screens, this one has the worst skin feel. It is sticky going on and remains so, even after it should have absorbed. Living in Florida, I am careful to always be wearing sun protection, however, after about 20 minutes I am washing this one off. I have oily/combination skin, and have used the non-greasy spf 15 lotion, and the mattifying spf 15 lotion; however, this is my favourite spf product by far. The porduct is really comforting on the skin, and there is no stinging or bruning, that is frequently associated with many sps. There is a "sheen" i guess, but it disappers very rapidly, leaving a very luminiscent glow to the skin. I really can't say enough about this product: please Paula, do not stop making this formulation. I love, love, love it. Thank you, Helen.

I got the RESIST Anti-Aging line and after using it for three days, I had breakouts (cysts) and redness. I am so disappointed. The moisturizer is really greasy feeling on the skin as well. After reviewing what others had commented on the cream being "too shiny" I was reluctant to buy. I went ahead and tried it and I really liked how the cream went on plus after having it on all day my skin stayed really moisturized which by night time my skin is dry. I think the cream is good for someone with dry skin as it may be too rich with a oiler complextion. This ones a keeper!

Sadly not for me
I so wanted to love this product given it's SPF but it was way too greasy for my combination skin and did leave a pronounced whitish cast. I'll have to stick with the Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion. I like that someone mentioned keeping it to use on hands. That's a great tip as it's definitely about the right consistency to be a hand cream.

Nice SPF Moisturizer for Dry Skin
Pros:
-Nice moisturizer for dry skin that lasts all day. I think this will be especially excellent for winter.
-Wonderful ingredients for the skin.
-Love the titanium dioxide for SPF (if I use anything with avobenzene on my face my eyes water all day).
-If blended in well it does not leave a whitish cast.
-Even though it's for face, it's a great hand moisturizer and a good size to take in your purse (I bought a second tube just for that purpose). I almost prefer it for my hands because of the richness of it.
Cons:
-Very shiny and long dry-down time. I would not call this 'brightening', it is downright glossy. And while it does work under makeup, you have to wait at least 1/2 hour before putting any powder type makeup over it, otherwise it feels a bit like you've been tarred and feathered.
-The screw cap is annoying because of the extra blob of product that comes out when you close it. Would rather have flip style.
If Paula's Choice can figure out how to take down the sheen a bit and change the packaging, this is a 5 Star product.

An excellent product
Love it. Wish it were SPF 30. I feel it's a compromise in this regard. I put foundation powder with SPF 30 over it to set it around my eyes so they don't burn and cover the shine. Love the dispenser too.

Definitely gives my skin a "ghostly whitish" cast, but makeup mostly covers that. On the upside, skin feels moist all day, which can't be said for most moisturizers at the cosmetic counters...

Not for my skin
I thought I would love this since I have normal to dry skin but after 2 days I broke out with cyst like pimples. I loved the way it made my skin glow but it just wasn't right for me. I kept it and use it on my neck, chest, arms and hands and it's great! I love Paula's products but still searching for a great daily spf. I use the spf 20 barely there foundation and love it!! I just want something with a higher spf. I am a huge fan of PC products!! Thanks to Paula and her team!! I LOVE this! I had to replenish my moisturizer with sunscreen and ordered a couple of samples of this, as well. It is excellent. I really liked the mattifying moisturizer I bought for summer, but this one is even better. It is moisturizing, comfortable on super sensitive allergy prone skin and provides broad spectrum sun protection. It does apply with a bit of a sheen but also serves as a great makeup primer. You get a really nice dewy glow! I have combo skin and this does not break me out--may be too much for oily skin. I am definitely going to by this one next time I run out.

Great product but I don't like the packaging
This product is great. I love the way it absorbs into my skin and is not greasy at all. However I hope they change the packaging of this item soon. It is very hard to dispense the desired amount of product. Then when I close the tube, more product comes out. It is also hard not to leave product on the cap. I am thrilled with this new product. It goes on smooth, leaving a nice finish before applying foundation. Even my dermotolgist was impressed with the product. I would have given the product 5 stars, but I dislike the packaging. Please, no more holes at the bottom of a tube. A lot of the moisturizer comes out when closing the opening, which wastes this awesome product. Keep the SPF's combing.

Excellent sunscreen - just not enough moisture
This is an amazing product. I have red, sensitive skin and this sunscreen I can even use around the eye area with ZERO irritation. I'm amazed.
The very light sheen/white cast actually helps even out the redness so I don't mind it.
The only downside to this product is that it doesn't provide hardly any moisture for me. I still need to use a separate moisturizer and then layer this on top.

Very Versatile Resist Product
I tried the 3 samples I ordered and must say that this product is very moisturizing and heavier for my oily skin. However, after useing my AHA Weekly Resurfacing Treatment, its great on my face to rehydrate, put the antioxidants on there and sunscreen all in one product. It also claims to help fade brown spots and help with sundamage which is a plus for me

Nice, but misses the mark
Although this product does have a great SPF level and is much better than other brands, I was overall disappointed. Feels nice while applying, but leaves a heavy sheen on skin. Somehow also did not seem moisturizing enough despite the shiny look it left on my face. I love all other PC moisturizers, but this one just wasn't great. Plus, noticed some blemishes after just a couple days use....

No irritation for my sensitive skin!
I'm thrilled. It blends easily into my dry, sensitive skin with no whitish cast and stays matte all day. I've had no allergic reaction. The best part is the 25 SPF. The sun is intense here and I burn quickly if just using SPF 15. Plus I just started using Retin A, so I really needed a higher SPF. And I love that it's a combo moisturizer and sunscreen. One less step in the morning.

I love the texture, look on my face, not ghostly white and it feels weightless and silky. I don't mind a little shine on my skin, but most of all I love how it feels like I am wearing nothing at all on my face! The anti-oxidants are a real plus in my book.

I am in love with this moisturizer/sunscreen! I love the slight glow it gives my skin, and for me it hydrates perfectly. I have combo oil/dry skin and this works wonders. I love the fact that without any makeup on this gives me face a subtle glow and fresh look (I actually wish it had a little more "glow" to it!) For me this is a winner!

Excellent Sunscreen
This is by far the best mineral based sunscreen I have ever used. It leaves no white cast whatsoever on my skin, like most mineral sunscreens do - especially in my beard area. For a mineral sunscreen it is lite and doesn't leave a tacky sticky finish (which the skin recovery tended to to do for me). I have combination skin and it has not broken me out or felt greasy at all. Works for me!

Didn't Like The
Overall this is a nice moisturizer with SPF. I use all the other resist products and was excited to finally have a Resist SPF since a daily facial sunscreen is the only product from Paula I haven't found that I liked yet. Like the Moisture Boost SPF 20 but not enough to use regularly and it's too heavy to allow layering other products. Love the matte finish of the Skin Balancing SPF 15 but it's too drying for my normal to dry skin. Would like a product somewhere in the middle but this isn't it. This product is great for dry skin, has no noticable fragrance and is comfortable to wear. What I just did not like was the radiant finish. In defense of the product description, it clearly says it "brightens" and "enhances radiance". I just didn't expect it to be so "glowy" on my skin. That glow lasted all day, which might be a plus to some but for me it was too noticable and keeps me from wanting to use the product. Maybe it's a guy thing, but I just don't want to "glow" all day. Probably a great product for truly dry skin if you don't mind or actually prefer to have the radiant finish.

Not what I expected
I was so excited to get this but was disapponted. My skin is dry/normal with blemishes but this left my face looking greasy. If you have any issues with blemishes this may not be the best to use. I perfer to use the Barely There Tint for my sunscreen protection. I will keep it to use neck down but sadly too greasy for my face.

After struggling with the skin recovery daily moisturizer being too shiny even after foundation/powder and blotting papers, my mature skin thanks you for this new product. We older ladies know that the shine enhances our existing wrinkles and matte is far better for us. I thought I'd give this a try since it said less sheen (meaning shine to me) and was going to ship it back ASAP if it didn't work. I'm in LOVE with it! New dispenser is different and first time I used I dispensed too much. Easy to get the hang though after that. PLEASE..this is a keeper!

I have combination skin and find this product leaves my skin feeling a bit too greasy. However, that's not a fault of the product, just a mismatch between it and my skin type. My skin is too sensitive for chemical sunscreens, and it is very hard to find physical sunscreens. This is the best untinted product I have found yet--it blends easily and well, the white does not show on my light skin tone. I also like the barely there tint, but this has a little extra SPF, and sometimes I don't want coverage. I have been using this nearly every day since it arrived. I would prefer a drier finish. If this product came in a version for oily/combo skin, I would definitely buy it.

Good for sensitive skin
This product warns to keep out of eyes, however I used it around my eyes and experienced no irritation whatsoever. This product is more appropriate for people with normal to dry/dry skin. People with normal to oily/oily skin will probably find this product to be too heavy. I have combination/dry skin, so this product is perfect for me. Like all titanium or zinc based sunscreens, this product does leave a whitish cast on your skin. I have very fair skin, so it is hardly noticeable on me. WARNING: A little goes a long way. I accidentally dispensed too much product on the first use. The twist cap is an innovative idea, however additional product is dispensed upon closing the cap. All in all, I think this is a great product and I plan on using it every day.

Great Sunscreen
I love the extra SPF especially during these longer days. It doesn't leave the ghostly, whitish cast on my face and neck. It does indeed help my face glow, but that's ok since I have dry, mature skin. It does seem to dispense a little more product than I need, but that's not a bad thing to put a little more on my face and neck. Given time, I'll get used to the new packaging. I have rosacea and this product has not irritated my skin at all.

Used this for the 1st time today. I love it! I wanted a little more SPF than15 and this fits the bill. The skin on my face is extremely sensitive and I can't use a sunscreen with Avobenzone on my face. Keep up the good work Paula!

Great product, but read the FAQ!
The FAQ tab states that texture-wise this product is comparable to the Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion SPF 15, leaving slightly less sheen. I would not recommend this product for people with Oily/Combination skin - the texture is much richer than the Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion with SPF 15, the Non-Greasy Extra Care Sunscreen SPF 45 or the Barely There Sheer Matte Tint SPF 20. The product left a slight white cast that faded after absorbing fully, but may still be an issue for people not applying foundation on top. The packaging is a first for Paula's Choice - a twist-up cap with a hole in the centre to dispense product. I wasn't convinced by this new design - an extra blob of product was dispensed when I twisted the cap closed! A regular flip-top cap would be preferable in my opinion. In summary - those with oily skin who like a weightless finish, stick with the P.C products designed for your skin type. For those with Normal to Dry Skin - enjoy!

Should I reapply RESIST Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer during the day?
For casual wear, meaning less than four hours total time out in the sun, it is not necessary to reapply this moisturizer with sunscreen as you will be protected all day. If you are perspiring or just spending a longer period of time outdoors, it should be reapplied every few hours to maintain the stated level of protection.
How is RESIST Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25 different from Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion SPF 15?
Although both products provide reliable broad-spectrum sun protection, RESIST Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25 offers a greater amount of sun protection. The RESIST formula contains titanium dioxide as its active ingredient while Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion contains a blend of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Some people, typically those with medium to tan or olive skin tones, will notice a bit of a white to pale violet cast after applying RESIST Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25. This is due to the amount of mineral active (titanium dioxide) this moisturizer with sunscreen contains. If this happens to you, here's what you can do to eliminate the white cast:
Experiment by applying a drop or two of a sheer bronzing gel (Clinique makes a good one) over RESIST Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer. You can also mix a drop or two of the bronzing gel with this daytime moisturizer before applying. The bronze will offset the white cast and should make your skin tone look more natural without losing the anti-aging sun protection this provides. Of course you can also apply a Paula's Choice foundation with sunscreen over RESIST Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer, too.
