Awesome for sensitive skin!
I had several sample packets of this cleanser and the gentle touch makeup remover to take on a trip. I absolutely loved both! My skin felt clean and soothed after using this cleanser. I normally use the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, and this one is like it but better. Once I run out of CeraVe, I will definitely purchase the full sized Optimal Results cleanser.

My Favorite (Fancy) Cleanser
My skin loved this cleanser. It was creamier than my regular Moisture Boost One Step Cleanser, but instead of feeling icky (I love the IDEA of a gel cleanser, the squeakier the better...despite all my knowledge and experience to the contrary!) it felt luxurious and left my skin feeling perfectly cleansed but also wonderfully moisturized. I thought the pump bottle might be annoying but it seemed to dispense the perfect amount and traveled really well (unlike my Moisture Boost, which would always leak inflight). The only reason I switched back to the Moisture Boost was it was quite a bit cheaper in price at the time- but now since they're just about the same, I may have to treat myself to this gem once again! Great Soothing Morning Cleanser
Thoughjg this does remove my (light) makeup completely, I prefer to use it as a morning cleanser. I find it very soothing and provides just the right amount of moisture to start my day.

Doesn't remove makeup
1. I had a problem getting the pump to work for the first time. I twisted it every which way forever until it finally started pumping. I am not looking forward to openning the second bottle when I finish the first!
2. Does not remove makeup, even though my makeup is not waterproof, and even though the other Paula's cleaner that I used to buy always removed it.

No bubbles - bad smell
I love nearly all Paula's Choice products, but this one is a no-go for me. The product feels like I'm spreading lotion on my face not a cleanser. There is no lather, no bubbles. Plus the smell is bitter. I've broken out several times on my chin since using it - not sure this is the cause. I won't be buying again. I like Paula's One Step Cleanser! Broke me out
I love Paula's Choice products but this cleanser made me break out like crazy. I have combination skin with the occasional acne, mostly hormone related. Since I started using this cleanser though, I have acne all over my face... I really wanted to use the Resist line because I am 39 and would like to take care of the wrinkles... Paula's other cleansers better
I have tried/used all of Paula's other cleansers for combination/normal/dry skin. They are better than any other cleanser I have found anywhere else. However, the Resist cleanser does not remove makeup or mascara. When using the toner after cleansing, the pad is full of makeup, and I have to use the eye-makeup remover, too. This is something I don't have to do with Paula's other cleansers.
I really wanted to like this cleanser, but I will not reorder it and will switch to one of the others. The best cleanser!
I love this cleanser because it is extremely gentle, yet effective. Other gentle cleansers I have used in the past have made my skin feel oily and unclean. The Resist cleanser leaves your skin feeling clean but extremely soft and not dry.

This is the only cleanser I've ever used that doesn't leave my skin the least bit tight or dry but still thoroughly removes makeup. I don't even consider trying anything else.

I have oily skin and unfortunately found that oily skin can get fine wrinkles as you get older and be sensitive. I find this cleanser gentle without leaving my skin greasy. I think it cleans a little better than your hydrolight for oily skin (which I used before I tried this.)

Not WORKING!
NOT working. This cleanser does not work for me at all, as it doesn't clean well, does not enhance and repair my skin after one month of try (usage). Another fail for me...
This product did nothing for me at all...did nothing to remove my makeup and left my skin feeling very dry...not something I want in a cleanser...kinda disappointed..i was really hoping this was going to be great for me... After I got used to it not being sudsy I loved it! I only had a few samples of it so when it ran out I had to go back to using my usual stuff (which makes my skin feel really dry afterward). This is very light, and moisturizing. It's not the greatest for removing heavy make up, but I don't think it's supposed to be. When I run out of my old cleanser I will be buying this!

I love Paula's products, but this one just didn't work for me. I have combination skin and felt this cleanser was too heavy and didn't completely remove all my makeup. I had to rely on my toner to finish the job. I also started breaking out when using the product. Unfortunately, this one has to go back. Luxurious cleanser
I feel like I'm at the spa ever time I use my RESIST Hydrating Cleanser. It has a silky-smooth texture that feels positively self-indulgent. My over-sixty skin feels clean, soft, smooth and plump. While it's a little more expensive than my former favorite Moisture Boost Cleanser, the lovely feel and excellent ingredients are well worth it. My mom is hooked on it, too. Thank you, Paula!

Fabulous, but...
I absolutely LOVE this cleanser! It's thick, creamy, gentle, and my skin looks much better using this than any of the other PC cleansers. My only complaint is that the pump bottle doesn't allow you to use up every drop of the cleanser. When the level gets low, the pump stops working, and you have to remove the lid, upend the bottle onto a small bowl/plate, and pray you can use up all of it. Unfortunately, the thickness I LOVE also prevents the cleanser from really moving downward so you can get all of it out. This won't stop me from using it, but I do hate paying so much and not being able to use it up. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Too Drying for me
What I like about the Resist Hydrating Cleanser is that it is unscented and creamy and seems to clean well. However it is way too drying for my combo skin. My checks are so tight and flaky. I recently had a hydrating facial, waited a few days before starting this cleanser and now I'm flaky and breaking out. I was afraid it would be too rich...Customer Care Response: We're sorry that the RESIST Cleanser didn't work for you! Anytime we wash our face we are washing away the natural oils, it is normal for the skin to to feel a bit tight. Wonderful creamy cleanser!
Wonderful creamy, cleanser! If I wear makeup, I usually use a cleansing water first to remove it, but this does a pretty good job removing makeup by itself if I am feeling lazy. It is nice and lotion-y feeling and does not seem to strip my already dry skin. I would not say it adds moisture,like an albolene-type cleanser, but it is less drying then most lotion-y cleansers. When I get near the end of the bottle, I turn it upside down overnight and run the last of it into a small, travel-size squeeze-type bottle so I get my money's worth.

Creamy, no odor whatsoever, rinses clean
Got this after trying the RESIST sample set, since my usual year-round cleanser is no longer keeping up w/ winter-dry skin! This is creamy (doesn't foam at all) & emollient, YET RINSES CLEAN. I DO NOT care for cleansers which leave even the FEEL of residue. Satisfied so far, not sure it would work after winter is over & my skin returns to its oily nature, but that's okay.

I just received a sample of this in my last order and have to say that this cleanser is AWESOME! In the winter my skin is dry and this removed every trace of eye makeup while being gentle and leaving my skin hydrated. My skin is acne prone and no breakouts from this at all. Perfect cleanser - bigger bottle please
I absolutely love this cleanser for my combo/normal, acne prone skin in the winter. I truly believe that this, along with the rest of the suggest products I got for "Dry aging, acne prone skin" my skin has improved 10fold. My skin was horrid since I stopped nursing my child- like a teenagers again, with constant cysts...and Paula's products have corrected the damage caused from the acne AND the other expensive products I tried, that in fact made it worse I think. My only beef with this product is at how fast it gets used up. At 2 pumps 2x/day, I finished it in 1 month. I'm ok with spening money on my skin, but for a cleanser, I think that's unreasonable. I were mineral or gelbased liquid foundation from MAC btw, but in no means a LOT of makeup. Anyways...bigger bottle please and less cost! Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review! I've tried every cleanser on earth and have not been happy until now. This not only gives me that "clean" feeling after use but it does not feel like it leaves a film either. Nice cleanser
I decided to give this cleanser and other products from the Resist line. I am glad I did. While my skin reacts to the other PC cleansers with redness and burning, my skin did not when I used this cleanser. Patience and a little detective made me realize that I am sensitive to a couple of ingredients that Paula uses in her products. Neither ingredient is in this cleanser! YAY!. Very nice, takes off makeup and leaves skin feeling clean but not tight.

I have been using this cleanser for a few months, and am completely in love. It's so gentle, yet gets my face really clean- my skin feels so good after washing! Not at all dried out, but super clean- makeup and all.
It does not ever, ever irritate my rosacea, either. Oh! And you need such a small amount it lasts and lasts.

Love this cleanser!
I have very sensitive skin and rosacea. Since using this product along with the RESIST toner, I no longer need my topical rosacea medication prescribed by my dermatologist and it takes my makeup off completely! Other cleansers used to give me a rash and a feeling of tightness after cleansing. THANK YOU!

This cleanser leaves my skin so soft and silky, and rinses away beautifully. It breaks down makeup (though I do have to follow up with an eye makeup remover). It's the first time I've ever used a creamy type cleanser that I have liked. Excellent work!

Great Cleanser - Larger Sizes Please
Although I am unable to use the pump because mine arrived broken, I pour it into my hand each time I need to dispense the product. I'm not going to fault the cleanser for that though. I was a long time user of another product and finally needed to change my "philosophy" about skincare. I love this cleanser. I love the way it smells, the way it cleans and doesn't leave my skin dry and tight feeling. My only negative would be that I'd like a larger size. I use this every day twice a day, and I'd rather not have to purchase cleanser every month. I'm a little gun-shy about the pump not working and am not sure if this was a one-time thing or a common occurrence. If the bottle was larger, it could be made with a different dispenser like a squirt lid or something more reliable. How about a super size Paula? Same goes for the toner and 5% glycolic lotion. Doesn't remove eye makeup
I am using the other Resist products and very happy with the results. But very disappointed with the cleanser. I was having to cleanse the eye area twice each night to get the makeup off. I use very little eye makeup but the mascara would not cleanse off. I am back to my old favorite "Skin Recovery Cleanser" that does a beautiful job of removal. Too drying...
I really wanted to love this cleanser as I enjoy almost all of Paula's products. However, this cleanser was way too drying which was surprising since it's labeled as for normal to dry skin. Love product, but not size.
Have been using PC for quite sometime, and now that I am mid 40's I am using all of the resist line which I love. I do wish though that some of the products were offered in a bigger size, especially the cleanser. I have turned many people on to these products, and have always bragged about how they are fairly priced. But I feel these products are a little pricey for the sizes.

Doesn't Cleanse
After two washings my makeup is still on my face and I need to remove the rest with toner. I must add that I use a sheer foundation. Nothing heavy. The Resist line so far is not working for me. I use Gentle Touch Makeup Remover or Skin Recovery Cleanser on my face.
I think the Gentle Touch Makeup Remover is also too expensive.
Since a larger size isn't feasible, could we get a BOGO on this product?

racoon eyes
this product is rich and creamy and makes my skin feel good after using it. I don't have dry skin though so complaints about it not being hydrating enough may hold true. BUT it will leave you with racoon eyes if you try to take off your eye makeup with it. Switching back to the original PC cleanser. I KNOW that one works on eye makeup! :)

Disappointed
I bought this product in the winter and it didn't work well for me even though I have combination skin. It left my skin dry and tight. I saved it for the summer and am now able to use it with no problem. I don't use much makeup just the tinted moisturizer from PC, powder, blush, and an eyeliner and mascara (not waterproof products). Unfortunately, this product cannot remove all the makeup on my face despite the fact that I don't use much makeup. I am not happy with this product and will stick to my usual PC products.

Removes ALL my makeup
This product is another great member of the RESIST line. This cleanser removes absolutely all of my makeup, as evidenced by the clean cotton ball after I apply the toner, and leaves my skin feeling calm and not at all dry or tight.

I love this cleanser
Yes, this cleanser is costly, but I find I don't have to use as much of it to cleanse my skin. I switched from the Skin Recovery Cleanser and while I liked it, sometimes it would burn my eyes slightly. This cleanser has never done that. Also, my face still felt a little dry after using the Skin Recovery Cleanser, but not when I use the Resist Cleanser. I'll definitely buy this and other Resist products again. My skin looks great!!!

I really didn't expect for this cleanser to live up to the hype. But I decided to try it anyway, as my skin, at 55, is starting to need more TLC. This cleanser is just delicious to use, feels awesome and lives up to its promises. A little goes a long way, but it would be nice to come in a more economical larger size option, too.

Don't like this one
I was using the Resist moisturizer and serum so then when my BE cleanser ran out I decided to add the Resist cleanser to my routine. I hate it. It's like putting hand cream on your face. Also I noticed I am getting whiteheads again which I had gotten under control in the past. So this product did not work for me at all. Love the product - not the size
This is the best of Paula's cleansers - I have tried them all. I love the creamy feel which rinses completely. However, I did not like the downsize of the product with the heftier price. Per ounce, it now costs more than many of Paula's other recommended cleansers-including hers. I also have noticed a downsizing on many items such as the lip balm in a pot. Great Morning Cleanser
I've been using Paula's products for 13 years, ever since her BHA product rescued me from the horrors of pimpledom. Now, in my 30s, I've started her new Resist Line. While the Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment is divine, and the others are notable, this product is the weakest in the line. Although the texture is marvelous, it does not remove eye makeup very well. Because I like the lotion-like feeling of it, I use it in conjunction with another cleanser. I can only use this Hydrating Cleanser in the morning when I have no eye makeup to wash off.

Not my favorite...
I have been using Avalon Organics hydrating cleansing milk for years and it works VERY well and removes all my eyemakeup like nothing else while leaving my skin healthy soft and never dry. Since I LOVE many of the PC products and especially the Resist line I just had to try the new cleanser and toner. I must say I am disappointed. Although my skin felt hydrated the cleanser did not remove eyemakeup very well at all, leaving me with racoon eyes so I had to use the Avalon cleanser afterward around my eyes. It has been many years since I have had any acne but within several days I began to develop small bumps that would form a head and after a week I had at least a dozen of them! I immediately discontinued the Resist cleanser and toner, went back to the Avalon cleanser and PC skin recovery toner and the pimples were gone within 2 days. During all this time I never changed the rest of my routine which is PC Resist moisurizer and serum so I am convinced the problem was with this cleanser. Will not buy again. Great but costly
LOVE the cleanser...BUT it does not last nearly as long and is far more costly per ounce than others. I am going to have to go to my other Paula's choice cleanser because of cost. Just too expensive for much smaller amount.

I was hoping the hydrating cleanser would be less harsh on my dry skin but it was the same as the skin balancing cleanser which I've used for a few years. Both cleansers leave my skin feeling tight. I will continue using the skin balancing until something else comes up. I've used Paula's products for a few years now and am satisfied. I especially like the toner and the 8% alpha hydroxy gel. I tried the 2% beta hydroxy and couldn't tell a difference in blackheads/whiteheads. My Dermatologist said the 2% wouldn't do the job, needed to be more.

I've tried all the department store cleansers, but nothing leaves my skin feeling so amooth, yet clean, as this one. Just started using the the whole Resist system on my 46-year-old face (still w/ combination skin) and love it, after 5 days.

Not for me
I did not like this cleanser. It was nowhere near moisturizing enough for my dry (to very dry) skin. There was nothing wrong with it, but it left my skin feeling tight after washing. Not my idea of a hydrating cleanser. When I was trying to figure out if this might be better for me than the Skin Recovery cleanser, I feel like I only got marketing material from the customer service rep and not actual facts about which is more moisturizing. New RESISIT LINE!! WOW
I've used Paula's products for about two years off and on. I've tried using her suggestions from other brands in the "off" periods and did not get the results as I do with Paula's!! I was running out of my CLEAR and the BALANCING products; so I got the whole line...my skin is the smoothest, clearest it has ever been and it took only 2 days to get it back! I was trying the bareescentuals skin care and was making my skin dark, dry and well,just horrible...I do have combo/oily and my skin feels wonderful. THANK YOU Paula and her fab team!!!

best cleaner yet!
I have used several of the cleansers and this is my fav. I am close to forty so I have a few wrinkles yet I have slightly oily skin and my skin looks sensational. It cleans and my skin feels perfect when I finish. Highly recommended!

Another Homerun-Outstanding Cleanser!
I've been a Paula's Choice customer for over 10 years, beginning with her products for oily skin and now adjusting for my 40's skin by using the Skin Recovery line to deal with my increased skin sensitivity. This cleanser is even better than the Skin Recovery cleanser because it is creamier and leaves your skin clean, soft and more hydrated. It takes off all makeup including eye makeup and mascara with ease. I look forward to more products in this line, especially a large size for this cleanser. Highly recommended for those with sensitive skin who are looking for a gentle but effective cleanser and makeup remover.

Super-Powered Cleanser !
This cleanser is an incredible 3-in-1 : it dispenses like (and has the gentleness of) a cream cleanser, (especially on sensitive skin and when water is hard), removes true stubborn makeup like a cleansing oil, and rinses completely without any residue like a cleansing gel. It slightly looses its slip after massagig a few minutes (I tend to use more of it to maintain the slip so the bottle won't last that long) and, as the consequence, the bottle is really too small (hmmm, a larger size, please ? A gallon size would be perfect, LOL) ! It's a true super-hero :-)

Please make this in a bigger size like the rest of the cleansers. This cleanser is very creamy and non drying. I have to use an eye makeup remover but I still absolutely love this. My skin feels so soft and silky, not stripped.

Best Yet!
I've been a satisfied Skin Recovery (SR)skincare user for over a decade but was tempted to try this new cleanser and companion toner. I'm very impressed. My skin is dry and sensitive. This formula is just as gentle as SR but easier to rinse off, perhaps a tad more moisturizing as well. The pump works well, making it easier to dispense the correct amount, eliminating waste. A large refill bottle without the pump would be a great addition to this line. I'm switching to this system for the winter months. Paula's decision to focus on skincare has resulted in great new additions that benefit her many loyal and devoted customers. No other skincare line can compete, regardless of price. I am having trouble with dry skin this winter so I decided to give this cleanser a try along with the new toner. Love it! It is so silky and soft! I love the way it makes my skin feel after using it. Please make it in a larger size.

This cleanser is very gentle and glides over my "paper-thin" skin. I like it even more than Skin Recovery. Just thinking-it would work beautifully as a baby bath.

Very soothing cleaner!
I have oily/combo skin that is very sensitive and this is a very calming, moisturizing cleanser and my skin loves it. I will keep using but my only concern is that the Resist cleanser and toner are in smaller bottles than Paula's other cleansers and toners... therefore more expensive... but they are great!

Another Winner
I have very oily skin and generally use Paula's CLEAR and Skin Balancing products. However it is easy to overdo exfoliation and acne/oil control, and my skin can sometimes become tight and flaky, especially in the cold, dry Tokyo winter.
This cleanser has a non-foaming gel-cream texture and leaves my skin feeling soothed, not stripped, and not over moisturized either. This is ideal as an occasional option for those with oily skin whose skin is constantly walking the line between well and over-exfoliated.
