So disappointed!:(
I ordered two of these pumps and I am so disappointed with the product that I had to stop using them, cause they just leave a mess! (which is rarely the case with 'Paulas' choice' products, which I usually love so much and really trust) These pumps have a bad design, they are very hard to push down when your hands are wet, which they usually are when I use body products in the shower) but the worst thing is that when you push the pump down, the product leakes out and all over the packaging of the product. I didn't read the reviews before I bought them, but almost all are saying what I'm experiencing with this product. I wish Paula would do something about the design of this pump (and also make bottle pumps for face products!) as they are normally very useful to have! And since I live out of country it will cost me allot of money to return them:( Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Not Paula's Best Product
I don't care for these pumps, the spout has no projection from the cap so the product is dispensed right at the bottle, making a mess down the side of the bottle, and you can't get your fingers underneath it. I have been using the same pump for over a year. It has helped me get the most out of countless bottles of Paula's Mineral SPF 15. I like that the pump is sold separately, because it creates less waste in the long-term, both product-wise and packaging-wise. Thanks for this thoughtful add-on!

Awful design
As others have also mentioned, this pump is extremely poorly designed, with a much too short spout that results product running down the side of the botter rather than being dispensed neatly into one's hand. The top of the pump is curved in a way that makes it especially difficult to use with wet or lotion-covered hands. The top of the pump should have a dip where fingertips or a palm can rest securely. Instead it curves upward and encourages hands to slip off. Simply an awful design.

Disappointed
I bought this pump in spite of the negative reviews. I used it in the shower for the first time, being careful because of the comments. My hand slipped off the top of the pump and flipped the full bottle of shampoo off the seat in the shower and right on to my little toe. Ouch!!! When I tried using the pump again, even more carefully, it flipped again. I love the Hair and Body Shampoo, but agree that the pump needs a major redesign. Customer Care Response: Ouch! just bad
It dispenses a tiny amount, and the spout is way too short. The facial-care pump is better. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your feedback. This is not typical for the body care pump. Our Product Development team tested a random assortment of these pumps, which resulted in dispersing a normal amount of shower gel. No good for shampoo/conditioner
Don't bother trying these for the shampoo or conditioner, they don't work...they are too small and slippery for shower use and the product dribbles down side of bottle. Might work for the facial products, but not for body.

Worst design. Spout is too small to get hand under and product dribbles down side of bottle. Too much effort to return. Rip off.

works well, but needs improvement
This pump is great quality, but the top of it is so smooth and curvy, forget using it when your hands are wet or have lotion on! A more 'shower-friendly' version would be much appreciated!

How should this product be used?

For use in a 16-ounce bottle, simply insert, tighten, and it's ready to use!
For use in the 8-ounce bottle, trim the dip tube 1 ½ inches
For use in the 6-ounce bottle, trim the dip tube 2 inches
For use in the 4-ounce bottle, trim the dip tube 2 ¾ inches

Regular household scissors should cut through the plastic easily. Use caution when trimming, as the snipped piece may fly in an unexpected direction.
To activate the pump's locking mechanism, simply twist the white top portion of the pump clockwise. To open the "lock", turn the top of the pump counter-clockwise in the direction shown on the top.
If your pump clogs, remove the pump from the bottle and flush it through with warm water. Shake or towel dry and replace in product.

Pumps and spray pumps are sold separately for those who prefer them. The products can be easily used without them.

My pump is too long for the bottle. Can I trim it?
Yes, you can cut off the bottom with scissors so that it is short enough to fit the bottle (be careful of the trimmed piece flying in an unexpected direction when cut). Make sure to leave it long enough to touch the bottom (or almost the bottom) of the bottle. This can be done for both the 8 oz full-size and 2 oz travel-size products. Please Note: Pumps and spray pumps work only with bottles, and not tubes. We do not recommend using the pump with Paula's Choice Oil-Absorbing Facial Mask, because of this product's unique texture.

My pump is clogged. What should I do?
To keep your pump or spray pump from clogging, occasionally remove it and pump through warm water.

How is the body care pump different from the facial care pump?
The body-care pump has a longer dip tube and slightly different design that allows it to dispense more product per pump than our facial care pump dispenses.
