Please offer lighter colors!
Absolutely love Paula's lipstick formula. Applies perfect and is moisturizing for me (if you have dry lips put some of Paula's lip balm on - it is seriously super effective). Huge plus that they have SPF 15 as well. I just wish there were more colors as I end up buying the light peach shades which are best for my complexion from The Body Shop instead (which I do not like nearly as much). The offered shades seem to be biased to a complexion similar to Paula's instead of redheads. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your comments. I love the textures,feel,SPF,it lives up to your claims for me, all of your lovely colors look great in the catalog and online but the shades you haven't worked for me so I use and LOVE your clear sheer SPF lipstick in the meantime. Like the color but.....
I tried two colors and liked both of the colors and the lipstick did go on smooth but I found it very drying on my lips and within a couple of hours my lips were feeling tight and uncomfortable. I love everything about Sheer Cream Lipstick. I love the texture. Nude Illusion is a perfect color for everyday wear. It has a decent SPF. And "Cream" is correctly spelled! If Paula's Choice ever discontinues it, I'll be in mourning for weeks.

Bring back Passion Fruit and Cherry Berry
I am a lipstick junkie and I have oodles of it in my makeup drawer. Out of all the lipsticks I have worn, I always got the most compliments on Sheer Passion Fruit and Cherry Berry. I am a Paula's Partner and had to tell a customer that the company no longer carries either shade. I have yet to find a color in a different brand that compares to either. Please bring them back. Lilstick color complaint
I have always wondered why you never use peach or a very light colored coral in your lipsticks. Some of us like peach, but although your lipsticks are nice in nude, or light pink, please, please do consider something light in peach sometime. This would be sooo appreciated! Great lipstick
I tried a few shades and In The Nude is perfect for me. It kind of just intensifies my lip colour. It lasts a reasonable amount of time, it's soft and silky. The SPF is icing on the cake. Great job PC.

A must in my bag!
Great lipstick for everyday wear. I pulled out my tube of Nude Illusion to recommend to my sister and she promptly pulled her tube of In The Nude. We both gushed over the sheer formula and liked the neutral colors. I have blond hair and blue eyes and she has brown hair and brown eyes. Both nude colors look natural and warm.

Time to reintroduce discontinued colors
This lipstick is wonderful; silky, sheer, feels like nothing at all. Now if only I could buy Lilac Kiss again, or Amethyst Glow, it would be something wonderful indeed! I can only wear one of these colors, See Through Mauve. It lasts a long time, and I don't want to wear the same color all the time. If you had more colors, I could buy something, which might solve the problem of low sales that you mentioned! Thanks!

For something that Paula's Choice claims was such a poor seller, there certainly seem to be a lot of requests here for Cherry Berry. I am down to my last tube and am ready to buy if it comes back or if a similar color is offered. My poor rating is based solely on the very inadequate color offerings. Superior Lipstick
This is an excellent, well formulated lipstick. I love it and all the colors available. I agree with someone's suggestion of having limited edition colors...one for fall, winter, spring & summer. Also a red is needed. I loved Cherry Berry. Best lipstick on the market!!!!

Really like this lipstick
Many brands of lipstick irritate my lips and leave them dry and raw. This lipstick applies very nicely without "tingling", or drying out my lips. Like the mauve color. Would like to make a request of some softer cool tone shades.

Creamy but long lasting!
I love this lipstick! It is creamy and hydrating for the lips, does not slip or cause that annoying white line build-up that some lipsticks cause, and is long lasting! I don't normally expect long lasting wear from such hydrating lip color. My favorite is Nude Illusion, as I prefer matte shades. In the Nude is darker and more red toned than I expected for a "nude" but it is a very pretty color! Sherbet is a great pearly color. I will definitely repurchase. My only complaint: I wish there were more colors, especially matte.

More colors, please!
This is a super formula, one of the few lipstick options with a good sunscreen. I'd love to see "limited edition" colors annually. A pale one for spring/summer and a deep one for fall/winter. There are few peach, coral, reds and deep plum tones avail. I understand about putting effort into the skin care but since this is the only color item in your line, I'd love to see some new alternatives to your trusted lineup or shades.

Nice But The Tube is Thin
I urge you to try the samples first. I did, and found the only color I liked was "In the Nude." I am a fair-skinned blonde and this shade is just like my natural lip color, but intensified. Feels good, creamy, stays put with no traveling into lip lines. Only gripe is that the shape of the product is so thin that the lipstick is prone to breaking off. I much prefer a fat tube of lipstick that allows me to cover my lips with a couple of swipes, especially while hiking, etc. I have thin lips and yet it takes several swipes to cover them because this lipstick is so slim. I prefer Neutrogena's lipstick with SPF only because it is fatter.

Elegant sunscreen lipstick but....
I love this lipstick with sunscreen in Sherbert & Invisible. However, I have had to throw away 2 Invisibles in a row because gold flecks from the tube are pealing away & sticking to the lipstick. Also the thin lipstick shape tends to break off very easily if your not careful. If possible, please remove the gold laminate from the tube & change the form of the lipstick to regular size tubes.

I love this lipstick!! I remember when you had alot more shades to choose from. I loved Amethyst glow and Cherry Berry and a couple others. Bring them back please, I know you said they were d/cd due to poor sales, but maybe if you redesigned the l/s tube and marketed it more it would sell better. Also, you have alot more customers now then you did 10 yrs ago when these colors first came out. I say, try again!!! those colors were unique and beautifful!!!! Love the Nude Illusion - perfect, neutral color, creamy, moisturizing. Also tried In the Nude, but it's a bit too dark and don't like the frosty shimmer. Was told all the colors except Nude Illusion are like that. Please make a soft pink without the shimmer.

Essential!
I have been using "Nude Illusion" since you created the color - not sure when that was, but it's been several years. It's my favorite shade of lipstick, by any brand. I put it on my bare lips for subtle, natural-looking color, and over a lip stain for a bolder look. Either way, the sun protection, texture and color are superb. My only gripe is the packaging - I store it in a cosmetics pouch in my handbag, and even then, the cap ALWAYS cracks and breaks. I end up having to wrap it with tape - not exactly glamorous. But the formula - and the color, please don't ever discontinue this color! - is wonderful enough to help me overlook that. Love this product. My color is gone!
For years, I loved the Tropical Ice, and now it's gone. There don't seem to be any choices for "warm" and darker skin tones anymore. I like the formula but the current color choices look awful on me. Not a good product
I am addicted to Paula's lip balm with sunscreen. When they ran into production problems with the lip screen, PC website suggested using their clear sheer cream lipstick instead. BAD IDEA! The sheer lip cream lasts about 5 seconds, is definitely NOT moisturizing, and is a BIG waste of money at $11.00 a pop. NO NOT BUY THIS! I threw the tube away, it was that bad. The lip balm is great; this is NOT a suitable substitute. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. I agree: color section is poor
I love this lipstick, but I agree with Sally. There are no colors left for me to buy. They are all muted and/or pastel. I like this lipstick but my favorite color was discontinued. The SPF is good and it doesn't dry your lips like some lipsticks with sunscreens do. However, the color selection is poor. The only lipstick I use
I just want to say how much I love your lipstick! My favorite is Nude Illusion, it's so versatile, I can wear it natural, with smokey eye, the color is natural but gorgeous. I've been trying to find a color like this but it was never quite right until now, I'm glad it's here. My skin is very light-olive and I also like the See Through Mauve and Nude Illusion. Best lipstick out there
I stopped wearing lipsticks a while back because anything I wore chapped my lips, they were bleeding the next day. This is the only lipstick I can wear and I don't have that problem anymore. Thank you for this make up line, now I wear lipstick again!! :)

I got 4 sample colors from a previous purchase and I just had to come back to buy Nude Illusion and Rosy Glow!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE NUDE ILLUSION!!! It looks so sheer upon application but still provides enough coverage to cover my original lip color to make it look so natural and kissable! Rosy Glow makes my lips red and cute without going over the top (I usually wear it with formal wear or a little black dress :)! The only bad things I can say about this lipstick is the packaging- it does look a bit cheap. And there's not a lot of product for its price. And I got to say I love that it has SPF! I only buy lip gloss/lipsticks with SPF because I don't really like my natural lip color, so I don't need the sun to make my lips anymore darker!

Wonderful lipstick
I read all the reviews before buying this lipstick. It really is as great as everyone said it is. There were many recommendations for Nude Illusion. I've always worn darker shades from other companies. Usually "nude" lipsticks make my teeth look yellow and my skin too dry and aged ('m 63). This shade really is versatile and flattering. The weight is light and different than any lipstick I have ever worn before. I also love the narrower width for application. It makes it much easier to put on, with or without a mirror. I love this lipstick. Someone asked me if it was long-last lipstick, because the color was still on my lips after eating. Yet it is sheer and moisturizing. Unfortunately, my color, Cherry Berry, has been discontinued and there are no other berry-red options. I would give this a 5 rating, except for the lack of color options.

Easy to wear
I ordered all 6 samples as you just won't know if a color works on your skin or not going by the color swatches in the catalog. And also, the color or even style of your clothes may cause you to want to change colors of lipstick to match. I have all six samples lined up in my medicine cabinet ready to for a special event, outfit, or mood. I did find a difference in texture in the invisible. While I love it and it brings out a nice flesh tone from my lips, it is more moist than the other colors. No one mentioned that in other reviews. It felt more like lip gloss. Not that that was a real problem, though I would like it better if it felt a little less wet, I still plan on purchasing a full size in the future. The invisible and sherbet are my favorites followed by nude illusion and see through mauve.

Lovely Lipsticks
These lipsticks felt beautiful, no itchy sensation at all. The "Nude" shades are on the orange/brown side and more suited for warm skin tones, while the sherbet has a bit of peach in it and is the closed to neutral for me. The "rose" and "mauve" shades are excellent for cool skin tones. Glad I ordered all the samples so I could figure out which was best for me. I'll be buying more!

Superior Formula Lipstick
Amethyst Glow was my favorite of these lipsticks, with See Through Mauve a close second. The colors are fantastic. My 90 year old mom says See Through Mauve is her all- time favorite color -- now that's really saying something! She loves the formula, the way the color applies and wears. love the color
I love the sherbet color - it is the perfect color for my very fair skin (with slight yellow undertones) and it's sheer and light and appropriate for daytime use. I also appreciate the SPF in the formula. My only two (very slight) criticisms - it is not long-wearing, so you have to reapply often. Secondly, I wish Paula would develop a few additional colors without shimmer - eventually I'm going to get too old to wear shimmery lipstick! :)

Well I'm sold
I didn't like this lipstick at first due to the shimmer and the concentrated color, but I decided to try two more sample colors and discovered that if i apply just a tiny amount over a lip balm, the color is beautiful, sheer and the slight shimmer is lovely.
I've tried Rosy Glow, which matches my natural lip color, adding a touch more pink. I also tried Mauve, which I like, but best as an evening lip color. It matches my golden/olive complexion nicely. Nude Illusion is nice, but it's a little too peachy for me. I like a little more drama.
I ordered full sizes of Rosy Glow, In The Nude and Sherbet.
I would still like to see some sheer colors without shimmer though.

Great product-more colors please!
I love this lipstick. It glides on sheer, wears well, and has proper SPF. I also like that it's fragrance free. (I hate smelling grapefruit all day like with some lipsticks.) I just wish it came in more colors without shimmer such as a soft cherry red or deep pink, most nudes don't work well for me, although the two here are pretty.

I bought a sample of Nude Illusion and while I like the color and the consistency of the lipstick, I did not think it was sheer at all and I wasn't aware I was ordering a shimmery lipstick. As far as the shimmer, way too much for my taste. I didn't like the made-up look. I like my lip color to look natural. Paula, please make a truly sheer lip color with no or very little shimmer. Because I like the color of the sample I ordered, I used what was left to add to my home-made lip balm - much more sheer that way.

Great Lipstick
I love wearing well formulated lipstick and this is by far my new favorite. I wear this lipstick practically everyday. I am glad to see great color AND an SPF 15. I wear Rosy Glow and See Through Mauve which are perfect for my "level 2" complexion. I also purchased the Invisible and sometimes my husband actually uses this for SPF! Nude Illusion is too brown for my pink/yellow combo skin. Unlike other reviewers, I can't complain about the lack of color choices because the two colors I use are perfect for me.

I've tried 5 of the colors, and honestly they're all beautiful, but here are my personal impressions:
In the nude - just a bit darker than my lip color, gives a finished look. Very office appropriate.
Sherbet - my favorite! This one is a bit more peachy than my lip color, so complements peachy tones. It's perfect day or evening.
Nude Illusion - nice color but not my favorite. Maybe too pink to be called "nude".
Rosy glow - I would love this color in a blush! It's very wearable, and a beautiful pink shade.
Passionfruit - discontinued, but this color is a beautiful red that you can apply straight from the stick because it's not too saturated.

Sheer Cream Lipstick
I tried several colors. Lots of people love Nude Illusion, but I have a 'cool' coloring and found this to be way too peachy/brown for me. Same with In The Nude. Sherbet and Rosy Glow look much better on me.
Also, a lot of people rave about the texture. I found it to be quite average. While this is certainly not a bad product, I don't think it's as amazing as some other reviewers.

Please bring back Passionfruit & Cherry Berry!
Your lipstick is wonderful. The formula is creamy and long lasting and very comfortable to wear. However, while barely-there colors may be great for younger women, they leave a lot to be desired for mature women. As we age, our skin needs some color and lipstick is a great way to add color. Please bring back Passionfruit and Cherry Berry so I can bring some life back to my well cared-for skin (courtesy of Paula's skin care products). Thank you. Love most of Paula's products. I feel lip colors are difficult, like makeup colors, to find a perfect color. I like the feel of this lipstick and that it includes an SPF, however, need a color that works with my skin tone. I have tried all the lip colors and they do nothing for me, very dull. When your 50+ everyone tells you to wear rosetone lip colors, yuk; they make me look like an old lady. I have dk br hair and fair olive complexion and a strawberry red (with coral undertone) comes across as a natural color on me. Have only found one in my life(disc) and a close second but it is not very moist/no SPF.

I have Nude Illusion and is slightly lighter than "MLBB". It goes on easily and has good staying power. Love that it has a good SPF in it.

Nude Illusion is the perfect color. It's very natural and is great for daytime. It's does have a lot of color to it but it looks natural. Like my lips, only better.

Wonderful lipstick for everyday or going out!
I bought this lipstick in Nude Illusion, Sherbet and Rosy Glow. Nude Illusion is very nice and casual. I just have to make sure that it goes with my outfit and blush. Sherbet and Rosy Glow are both lovely pinks. I love the shimmer in Sherbet! This lipstick applies smoothly, the SPF is superb, and the cases click shut and won't come open in your purse!

Do not attempt to reshape or redraw the mouth with lipstick or lipliner! As a general rule, those with small lips should stick with creamy or matte lipsticks in lighter, bright colors and those with large, full lips can opt for matte or creamy but should be cautious with very dark, bold, or bright colors.
Lipstick is an essential step for a full makeup application (NOT lip gloss, which is too sheer and fleeting). Applying color to the lips will balance a face already enhanced with cheek color and eyeshadow/liner.
If your lipstick has caked or your lips have dried a bit, make sure you wipe off any traces of lipstick before reapplying. Forgetting to do this will make reapplication look sloppy and unattractive. If the dryness is severe, apply a lip balm or gloss prior to your lipstick.
Lipstick and/or lipliner almost always cake up if they are applied to the inner corners of the mouth. For the sake of a neat, beautiful application, stop the lipstick just before the mouth's inner corner!
The color of your lipstick should be tonally similar to that of the rest of your makeup. An example of what does not work would be wearing a plum or mauve blush with a coral-toned lipstick.
Why did Paula use avobenzone instead of titanium dioxide or zinc oxide in Sheer Cream Lipstick?
Paula chose avobenzone because both titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are rather opaque mineral sunscreens and it is difficult to create aesthetically pleasing sheer colors with them. In order to achieve an SPF 15 rating, the percentages of titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide required would have created a fuller coverage lipstick whose colors would be dulled by the matte finish these ingredients have.
Will it affect the sunscreen if I apply lip gloss over Sheer Cream Lipstick SPF 15?
Yes, it will, but how much the sunscreen will be affected is unknown. Applying lip gloss over Sheer Cream Lipstick will not cancel out the sunscreen, but it will dilute it, just as applying moisturizer over a facial sunscreen dilutes that. If you do not plan on spending much time outdoors and want a glossier finish while wearing this product, it is OK to apply a light layer of lip gloss. However, if you want sufficient sun protection for a long day (more than two hours) outdoors, it is best to skip the gloss and apply extra Sheer Cream Lipstick to obtain a shinier finish.
Should I apply my lip balm before or after applying Sheer Cream Lipstick SPF 15?
It depends on whether or not your lip balm contains an effective sunscreen. If you use Paula's Choice Moisturizing Lipscreen SPF 15, it does not matter if you apply it before or after Sheer Cream Lipstick (though afterwards will dilute the color). If you use a lip balm without sunscreen (or without UVA-protecting ingredients), it is imperative to apply it before Sheer Cream Lipstick SPF 15.
If I layer Sheer Cream Lipstick will the color become more intense?
Slightly. You won't be able to build opaque coverage due to the sheer pigments used to create each shade of Sheer Cream Lipstick. However, applying several layers will intensify the color more than just slicking on a couple of coats.
