It has taken me a lot of time and a lot of money to find a sunscreen for my face that doesn't leave me a shiny mess. I would highly recommend this for those with oily skin. I am African American and this does not leave a ghostly white cast on my skin. There is no strange medicinal smell. This is a light product which is great for everyday wear under makeup. A little seems to go a long way, but if you're generous it doesn't leave you looking like a clown. Use higher SPF if you are actually going to be outside for awhile.

Great Matte Sunscreen
This is the best feeling sunscreen tha I have ever used and I love that it has such great ingredients also which most sunscreens don't have. I love the matte finish and the fact that it is fragrance free.

Nice!
I like this moisturizer. My skin is fairly oily and I find this product surprisingly light. I've had issues with some of Paula's other products causing me breakouts but I've been using this for a few months with no issues and positive results. It's not really mattifying but it's definitely not shiny! It's only May, so we'll see how it works over summer; usually I can't put anything on my face in summer as it gets so oily.

I like the feel, but not the way it looks.
I have oily skin and I enjoy the light, matte feel of this lotion, but I find that even though it isn't greasy at all it still gives a shiny finish to my skin - maybe due to the sunscreen ingredients? When I wear foundation and powder over top that takes away the shine, but I'm not able to go out with only this lotion on and no makeup because it makes my skin look greasy even though it feels matte.

My favorite!
I have combination skin that is very fair. I like to use this sunscreen for when I wait outside for my son's bus (if I go out any longer I need a higher SPF). This stuff sinks in quickly and leaves a nice, smooth finish on my skin. What I do is use Paula's Choice toner after I wash my face, then I exfoliate with a PC BHA, apply some PC Acne Fighting Treatment and then this sunscreen. I have found that if I try to apply any kind of moisturizer, even a light one, then the sunscreen (this or any other kind) tends to ball up on me. So I learned that using toner, instead of moisturizer, for the good ingredients is the best way to go for me. This SPF is probably my favorite product from Paula's Choice!

Such a great product, but not quite right for me
I have combo skin, so I need mattifying in the TZone and moisture on the outer face. This product is too drying for my outer face. I think I am learning that I really need 2 different products for my face instead of "balancing" products. But otherwise, I'm loving trying PC products and plan on converting totally to all PC items for my skincare. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Just OK...
Decent moisturizer, but after 3 days use I developed small breakouts across my face... I usually do not have sensitive skin, but when I stopped use, the breakouts resolved..

Worst Sun Screen...
This lotion is so difficult to apply on my face and leaves a tacky feeling. I have stopped using it because it makes my skin so uncomfortable. I tried substituting this for my moisturizer but this doesn't feel moisturizing at all. I gave it 2 stars only because it does a good job in leaving a matte finish. Not moisturizing enough for me
I have been using this moisturizer for about a month and a half, and I am sad to say that I have not found it to be moisturizing enough for me. I have combination skin, and it did not seem to moisturize enough around the normal/dry areas. Also, I was excited about this product's mattifying abilities, especially for my oily T-zone, but I am a bit disappointed. For me, it leaves the familiar shiny finish that I am used to with other lotions. I do, however, love that it has antioxidants and it does not break out my skin. Wanted to Love
I'm sorry, I really wanted to like this product, but it didn't help my oily skin AT ALL. Still just as oily and shiny as ever, even just after a few hours of having applied it. Works Well
I hadn't heard of Paula's choice until I was searching around for a spf that was good for oily skin. I have naturally oily skin and in the past used Neutrogenas oil free spf but never had the results I was looking for. It didn't break me out but it felt very heavy and by lunch I was very shiny! This spf is awesome. It is really light and doesn't leave that mask feeling at all. While it doesn't reduce the oil on my skin throughout the day, my skin isn't even shinier using it... So I say that's fair! Plus, I love that it has antioxidants. That is such a nice little bonus.

Almost perfect, would be better with higher SPF
If I had written this review even one week ago, it would have 5 stars, because this has been a solid workhorse for years, giving invisible, compatible-with-make-up protection. But listening to Brian Barron on BlogTalkRadio's "Be Beautifully informed with Paula Begoun this week, I was reminded that usually a higher SPF is recommended, especially since most of us are not using the full teaspoon-sized portion needed to cover our face and necks. Is the Paula's Choice team considering reformulating this as an SPF 20 or higher? Customer Care Response: Thank you for your comments. Made me breakout

Great for oily/combo skin
I've been using this sun screen every day since it was first launched. I don't know if it is mattifying, but it certainly does not add any shine or excess oil to my oily/combination skin. I wear this under my foundation to ensure adequate spf and I can't imagine using anything else.

Okay, but not great.
I've been using this moisturizer for six weeks or so. In the beginning I felt kind of neutral about it - didn't irritate or break out my skin, but definitely left a shiny finish (and my skin, though blemish prone, isn't super oily). Now that the weather is getting warmer, and I'm not using the heat as much, I don't think I can use this anymore. My makeup just slides off, and I get horrid shine in my T-zone/inner cheeks by the end of work, and it's not even that humid yet. I'm not sure what to try next - I tried the Skin Balancing Moisture Gel, but no SPF. Wish this had been a better fit! Customer Care Response: Thank you for taking the time to review this product. Best sunscreen for humid climate/under foundation
I live in sunny, hot & humid Puerto Rico. I wanted to use sunscreen under my foundation, but could never find one light enough to use under makeup, until I tried this one. Great stuff. It's not exactly matte finish, but it's absolutely not greasy. I can wear it perfectly under my foundation and still go out on a 90 degree warm and sunny day without feeling sticky.

Best of the best For daytime use
This For the daytime is undoubtably the best moisturizer for my skin I have found to date. I have been in the past very sensitive to sunscreens, ths one however gives me no issue. I love that it is packed with all that is good and nothing that is bad for my skin. It leaves a matte finish on my skin for the better part of the day. My skin feels soft and protected. And looks great with the continued use of this product.

Nice and light
My husband uses Paula's sunscreen daily, but if you're someone who uses foundation, I suggest this product instead. It's nice and light on the face and doesn't make you look chalky. I wouldn't say my face looks any more matte than before I put it on, but texture-wise, it's an ideal sunscreen.

Not greasy, thin texture
This is a great option for those of us with super-oily skin. The lotion is extremely thin and does not feel at all like the usual goopy, oily sunscreen. Spreads easily and dries to a neutral finish. I love that some antioxidants have been added. To me, this is the perfect daily use sunscreen. I go a little higher SPF if I'm going to be out in the sun for a long time, but I think wearing an SPF 30 or higher daily would be overkill for my 25- minute drive to work in New England. That said, I make sure I use the recommended amount. It's important not to skimp!

Great Product
I really like this moisturizer. It absorbs nicely into my skin and leaves it with a matte finish. Not mattifying, but definitely not greasy
I think it's almost impossible to find an SPF product that doesn't immediately rub off that doesn't cause a little bit of shine. IMO, this is one of the best. The lotion is fairly thick, so I feel confident that I am getting lasting sun protection, and the shine/greasy factor really is minimal. Love Paula's products!

I have used Paula's lotions and potions for quite a number of years. I've tried many different SPF products of hers and this one is the best. It may not make my skin look matte all day, but it sure does feel like it since I don't feel like an oily blob is on my face at the end of the day. An easy press of some rice paper remedies the appearance of shine nicely. Really protected my skin from wind and sun damage on a recent downhill tubing trip, too. I also like the tube delivery. not very mattifying
i like this moisturizer for the fact that it does not make my face break out - which is the first moisturizer that doesn't. and i have used MANY moisturizers. the only problem i have is that i don't find it particularly mattifying. i find i am still wiping my face all day. have to find something better. Luv it but could be even better
Discovered Paula's books about 20yrs ago & have been a fan ever since. I use only Paula's Choice skin care products as well as some of her cosmetics. If I use a cosmetic that is not her's it's one she's reviewed and recommended. Her reviews are always right on the money. I luv this Mattifying sunscreen but a few enhancements I would like to see is a higher SPF (living along the Gulf Coast year round protection is a must)a larger size and even though I love this product it does seem a tad expensive. Not mattifying at all
I don't think this product should be labeled as mattifying. While it is certainly lightweight and therefore adecuate for oily skin, its finish is all but matte. It leaves a very shiny appeareance on my face, that looks almost plasticky. While I trust in the benefits of its formula, in terms of aesthetics, this lotion leaves me wanting so much more. Very good, but not very matt
This is the least greasy sunscreen I have ever used. I would not call it too mattifying, it still need to be set by powdering. Paula, please, please, Please invent a formula for those with very oily skin and who don't like to set it with powder (like my husband,and other men with very oily skin). Also, although it normally vanishes without leaving a whitish cast on my deep brown skin, it shows a white cast when I sweat. This product is best for lighter skin tones if you are going to be out in a hot humid climate. Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion
Here I am posting my own review - it's the raving reviews that made me try Paula's Choice in the first place and now I know they weren't made up! I LOVE this product - I love ALL Paula's products! For the first time in my life I have the skin I wanted. This lotion is lovely and light and sinks into my greasy T-Zone without leaving an oily residue. I slather this stuff on. It's amazing. Good cream for t zone
Nice cream for t zone. I still use RESIST SPF 25 moisturizer for my dry spot. I am not sure I need to use two products but for now it's working beautifully with my skin. I also use the AHA and BHA exfoliate on my skin. That has made a huge difference in my skin. Then I added the weekly exfoliation, also making my skin smoother. I cannot believe how Paula has changed my life and my pocketbook. No more expensive products that does not do anything or worse damage my skin. I will never try another product without making sure Paula has reviewed it. Thank you Paula for helping us all!

Nice
This is a nice lotion with spf for daytime use. Although some people think it's not mattifying I think it's great. It just gives your skin a healthy glow because of the sunscreen agents. There is not one product with SPF that can completely mattify your skin, because those chemicals and in particularly minerals (zinc oxide and titanium dioxide) will give your skin a shine/glow!
But is has still some quite good absorbing agents and antioxidants.

Great product for oily or combination skin!
Even at age 52, I still have a seriously oily t-zone. So much so, that most of my adult life, I skipped sunscreen in that area, in spite of fair, sun-sensitive skin, since the additional greasiness made wearing makeup impossible. This product has been a godsend. I use it faithfully each day under my makeup. I like using a pressed-powder mineral foundation and this serves as a great underlayer. It actually acts as sort of a light primer on my oily, somewhat large-pored nose, allowing for a smoother application of my makeup. When I've layered moisturizer and antioxidant serum on my neck and chest, a heavy sunscreen can be too much, especially in the summer. Again, this is perfect for a non-shiny layer of sun protection. For all but intensive, prolonged sun exposure, the SPF 15 does the trick.

I use this daily under make up or on it's own. It is not greasy and absorbs well so if I do wear make up I do not feel like I have lots of layers on. Will be a life long user of this product!

Improved packaging
I use this under my makeup every day. I had previously written a review and mentioned the poor packaging of this product. Now the packaging has been greatly improved and I am so impressed with your responsiveness to customer feedback. The new lid works fine and does not tend to break like the other one used to. Very good, but too thin for dry patches
Excellent SPF for oily skin. For occasional dry patches, like on my nose, I have to use extra serums or moisturizers under it in order for my makeup to apply evenly (I assume that's normal for a mattifying lotion, though). Definitely worth the price, and will buy it again.

doesn't cause breakouts
I have very oily, acne prone skin with beginning of fine lines. The lotion is very light and doesn't cause breakouts. I didn't get the mattifying finish described by other reviewers. Regardless, it is still better than any other SPF lotion I've tried. I would like to see this lotion with higher SPF.

Amazing moisturizer
The new packaging is wonderful. The mattifying lotion is wonderful. I have sensitive, acne-prone combination skin, and this is my favorite moisturizer ever. It doesn't make me break out, it makes my T-zone look matte, and is still moisturizing enough to keep the dry areas on my face smooth. SPF 15 works for me, but I would love to see a higher-SPF version (30-55+). Thank you, Paula!

Finally found the right one for me!
Over the years, I have used many different spf facial moisturizers at all different price points. Usually my (normal/combo) skin ended up too greasy or my makeup application would pill. Then I found the PC Mattifying Lotion SPF 15. This is an elegant, quick absorbing feast for the face. Sometimes I mix a smidge of tinted moisturizer with the lotion to add a bit of color. The best part is that even if I use regular liquid foundation after this lotion sets it never pills into little annoying balls. However, I took away 1 star because the pump top is inconsistent. Sometimes it works great and other times I pump & pump and nothing comes out.

Wonderful Face Sunscreen
I have combination skin and this is the best feeling sunscreen/moisturizer that I have ever used. It doesn't feel like sunscreen. It moisturizes without feeling tacky or greasy. I love this stuff. I'm left with a smooth matte finish - but not dry at all. This does not make me breakout either... I took off one star because I would be happier with an spf between the 20-30 range.

Doesn't sting!
I use two prescription acne meds--Duac and Epiduo-they work great but both of them make my skin extra sensitive to products and to the sun. My dermatologist told me I had to wear sunscreen but every SPF and Lotion/SPF combo I tried made my skin sting and made my eyes water if I got too close to my eyes except this one. I am so happy I found this product. Now I can protect my skin without suffering from redness, irritation and other unpleasantries. Thanks!

Great moisturizer with sunscreen
My husband loves this product for his oily skin that sometimes feels dry on the surface. He has tried a lot of drugstore moisturizers with sunscreen and says Paula's is much better and doesn't make him break out or shiny, and being fragrance-free is a plus. I would use it too if I wasn't sensitive to avobenzone.I definitely recommend trying it.

While I think this is an effective sunscreen which absorbes well, doesn't feel greasy and doesn't leave the dreaded white cast, I do not find it to be mattifying at all. My face is still as shiny as ever though I'll admit that this doesn't make it any shinier. I usually wear this sunscreen alone, a few minutes after cleansing and see no difference in the shininess or oily appearance of my face.

A wonderful product!

oily effect
As the name said, it should be light and mattifying.When I bought it, my skin was combination to dry. Now my skin is so extremely oily that I hate it and my make up is destroyed after an hour! I think I'll save this product for a severe winter...

Great for my oily skin
I received a sample of this product and immediately loved it. My face is very oily and this product goes on very light. I was suprised by the texture - it is quite liquid, so it is immediately absorbed into the skin. I love that this product is wholesome - mattifying with SPF and anti-oxidants. Very well rounded! A couple of people mentioned that it leaves a white cast - it does seem to do that, but my face is flour white as it is, so it is no big deal for me. I stopped using my old moisturizer and replaced it with this one and my skin looks way better. This is the very first product that I tried in the Paula's Choice line and have already placed an order for the cleanser and toner.

Mattifying? Nothing Mattifying about it...
I LOVE Paula Begoun & all her knowledge and information on skin care and have the hugest respect for her in the cosmetics industry, however this product for oily skin only personally made my skin much more oilier than it really was, knwoing that Paula's skin type is also oily, I had figured she would understand those concerns well enough for those with oily skin. However, Paula even has admitted herself a product is not going to work for everyone.

Great sunscreen
I have rosacea and oily skin and it is difficult to find non-irritating and non-greasy daily sunscreen. I'm also very fair and live in FL so sunscreen is a must! This is my favorite daily sunscreen - it's not thick and greasy and works beautifully under makeup. Only one small negative - it is not as mattifying on me as the description suggests. However, I begin with the sunscreen, let it dry, then use a mattifying makeup primer - seems to be the perfect combination for me.

Amazing finish!
This is my favorite of Paula's products. I've been using all the steps in routine for a few months plus a retinol product from my dermatologist. My combination skin is clear and looks healthy.

Using every last bit
I'd quit using this as it seemed "too light" - how could it be protecting me from the sun? I felt I needed to be greased up (with stinging eyes). After reading the reviews, I tried it again and now love it. When I couldn't get another drop out of the tube,
I cut it open. I was able to re-seal it by placing the tube in a snack-size plastic bag (left unsealed), then placing that in a Ziploc vacuum-seal bag and using the hand-pump to seal out all the air. I opened and re-sealed the it several times, used every last bit, and am looking forward to re-ordering a wonderful product. Thank you!

Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion SPF 15
This is the most best daytime moisturizer with SPF that I've ever used. And with my acne-prone combination skin, it's been a looooong hunt to find an effective sunscreen that didn't end up as a massive oil slick. I apply generously, wait 10-20 minutes, and my makeup goes on smoothly over it. One wish: better packaging -- the cap cracks easily and doesn't stay put. Overall, this is a wonderful product. I'm so glad to have discovered Paula, both for this product and the many others that have made such a difference for me.

great but room for improvement - some suggestions
I really like this sunscreen and all the good stuff in it - however is there ever going to be a UVA spf 30 in this same formula? I'm sure it would be popular! Also, will you ever add octocrylene as one of the sunscreen agents to make it more effective and long wearing? Thanks!

LOVE IT!
I've been using this product for a long time now. It leaves my normal to dry skiin perfectly in balance. It goes on well under make-up too! I have no problem with the pump-tube container, in fact, it's so airtight, that I get every last drop out of it! Sure the cap cracks or eventually I loose it, but obviously the packaging is airtight as the tube shrinks down as it empties.

Simply AMAZING
WOW! I no more excuse for not applying sunscreen liberally. Since many other sunscreens left my face with an oily glow, I just applied it whenever I felt like it. I can apply this stuff liberally and it feels like air and keeps my skin matte for hours. I work in a very fast paced, stressful environment.

This is the very first moisturizer w/ SPF that keeps my combination, acne prone skin MATTE and I don't even need to set it with powder ever. Applying powder over a moisturizer have always felt heavy on my skin that I oftentimes would just go out without sunscreen. Now, I can really apply this stuff liberally without worrying about ending up with that dreaded oily glow in 1-2 hours. I love that this stuff has no fragrance which makes it super gentle on my skin. I apply it after usingPaula's Choice BHA gel and 5%benzoyl peroxide (from Paula's CLEAR system) and my acne is under control. Thank Paula for all your work.

Love it, but...
Wish this 1) came in a larger size -- it's expensive and I feel like I'm reordering all the time, and 2) came in a higher SPF. Still, I think this is a great product and doesn't leave that white film on your face that some sunscreens do.

Great matte effect, okay moisture
I have very oily skin,so even when using this I need to re-powder my t-zone during the day. BUT it is the best mattifying lotion I've tried so far. In the summer, it's perfect. In the winter, it's not quite moisturizing enough. Also, it doesn't make for a very smooth makeup application, but that's because it's so mattifying.

Not Mattifying
I bought this product thinking it would actually be "mattifying" but it was far from it. It moisturizes well but do not believe it is mattifying. I didn't think I was that oily skin but this product makes my skin feel very oily. Buyer beware if you have oily skin because the mattifying effects of this product is questionable.

I purchased cleanser, toner and the daily mattifying lotion/sunscreen. The others are good but this product is amazing! It keeps the shine off your T-zone and helps makeup stay on all day. Plus it protects you from sun exposure. Now that I tried this, I'm not sure I can live without it.

Fantastic Product
This moisturizer has sunscreen protection without being heavy...and that's hard to find. It really does help to matte my oily skin, too. I'd give the product 5 stars, but I have to knock one off for the packaging. The pump is suuuuuper finicky and the plastic cap cracks and breaks after only a few uses. This is my second purchase of it, and both products have had the exact same packaging defaults. I've had annoying packaging problems with other products as well, so it is a testament to how incredible Paula's products are that despite the irritating packaging problems, I keep buying!

Not good for sensitive skin
This moisturizer is good for normal to oily/combination skin and it does leave a matte finish , but it was slightly irritating to my skin. After applying it my skin became blotchy red. I do have sensitive skin but I thought it was good for people with sensitive skin also. Im assuming its the SPF in it thats irritating to my skin. This would be great for someone that does not have sensitive skin.

Comfy and Matte
I have been wishing for years for a day lotion for oily skin that had a sunscreen in it. My face is not quite as super-oily as it once was, but I was using Neutrogena's Dry Touch 'sunblock' because it was the only product I could find that didn't make my face's lake of oil even worse almost immediately, but I found it irritating, and anyone who has used it on the face can tell you sweating makes it run into your eyes--with very painful results.
Paula's Mattifying Lotion didn't irritate my face, or start up my eczema on my neck or decolletage like many sunscreens. It was actually soothing, and though the matte finish was not dramatic, loose powder stuck easily on my skin. The pump-tube and I have negotiated a peace, and I look forward to new packaging when I re-order.

Perfect summertime sunscreen!
I have pretty normal skin that tends to get slightly oily in the summer. Most greasy sunscreens don't help the situation. This is the perfect solution and, when used with a light moisturizer, is not too drying. Love it! Now that fall is here I am going to try Paula's Extra Care Non-Greasy Sunscreen.

I would not recommended this product UNLESS you a someone that wears makeup. When I used it, my skin felt matte, however it was still very shiny (something in the product makes your skin shiny but not greasy).

Super Oily & Super Sensitive skin!!
I have been using this sunscreen every single day since it came out! My skin is as oily as a teenager's and also has major sensitivity issues. While at the end of the day my skin becomes noticeably oily (I couldn't expect a sunscreen to change it's true nature) and I've been in the hot Mediterranean for months, this applies so lightweight and never feels greasy compared to other sunscreens! Also, my skin is so sensitive it tends to get hives and rashes, or starts to sting and burn from no reason I can typically figure out, however I've NEVER had a problem with this product! Maybe those who have had reactions at the same time of using this product have done something else to trigger it?

This is the best moisturizer for combination skin and the absolute best sunscreen. My face never feels or looks greasy and it benefits my skin so very much. I am hoping that Paula can come out with the same version but with spf 30 because I am so very fair and for summer I feel it would work better for me.

Hi Paula, wanted to let you know that I love this product. Any chance of coming out with a 30 SPF for next summer? That would give a 6 out of 5! One small problem with the packaging. this lotion is mattifying, but it leaves a shinning finish for some time after you applied it, and where comes all these small thing like plush? it's better that paula develop a new version that could leave a matt and no-shine finish, and it's not hydrating enough. but whoever want one product to be really hydrating and mattifying at the same time, day dreamer.

I'm embarassed to admit that I never put sunscreen on my face - even though I am very fair. I used to have extremely oily skin and bad acne. I was paranoid about sunscreen making it worse. It's not really matte on my skin, but it gives a natural light shine that I top up with sheer foundation and loose powder.

Doesn't sting eyes
This is the first sunscreen for my face that does not sting my eyes. I love it. I wish they would make one in a higher spf and a bigger bottle for some savings. But for now I buy in bulk when it goes on sale!

This has a great texture, and is moisturizing enough for my normal skin type. (I would say I'm on the oily side, but I use metrogel for rosacea and that dries me out--so I don't really need the skin balancing part as much). An SPF of 30 would be even better.

Does not work for me
I have oily skin and after reading the rave reviews, I was hoping that this product would be as "mattifying" as it claims to be. It provides NO mattifying effect whatsoever. In fact, it is greasy immediately after applying to clean, dry (non-grease-slicked) skin. I've also noticed that the batches are not consistent from one bottle to another. I give it two stars simply because of the sun protection, but if you want something that is NOT inherently greasy and WILL mattify your skin, this may not be it.

The texture of this is to die for. I mostly use Paula's non-greasy SPF 45 - higher SPF and more cost-effective for me - but this one's really my favorite for the warm weather.

Don't like this product!
I know this product got rave reviews but it is just horrible for me. It does not help control the oil on my face AND the main reason why I only gave 1 star is because there is some ingredient in there that is helping trap the heat in my face. I know that sounds weird but "sport block spfs" do this to me too. There's something in it, that doesn't allow my skin to breathe which makes my face extremely hot. I'll never buy this again.

I have never tried a product like this before. I put it on my face and there was no shine! I mean it was just unbelivable how my face felt. It was moisturized and not shiny at all. Great product Paula! The only thing I had concern with is the cap. It would be great if cap popped open. The clear cap falls off and I cannot stand the tube, but otherwise I am completely happy!

Texture is great but...
I gave this a neutral rating because although the texture and feel of this product is absolutely great, it seems that no matter what foundation or powder I wear it under, my makeup will always turn an unflattering orange when I'm wearing this beneath it.

Fantastic Summer Moisturizer!
I *love* this as a summer moisturizer! In humid Ontario, it gives a great finish to my skin. The mattifying effect works for most of the day. The packaging could be improved though. The cap breaks quite easily and it's hard to get the last 1/3 of the product out. You have to cut the tube and then the air affects the stability of the antioxidants.

Best sunscreen for oily skin
I have tried so many different sunscreens and all of them have left my face looking and feeling greasy and have made me break out after. Even Paula's non-greasy SPF 15 sunscreen had the same effect on my skin. But this one was fantastic. It didn't turn my face white when I perspired during the day and it stayed matte all day! The best thing was I had no breakouts! It would be great if you could make something similar with a higher SPF.

I wish I didn't like this so much, given that it's the most expensive of Paula's sunscreens! I've tried all of them and this is my favorite for my oily skin. It feels lighter on my face, and while I don't find it "mattifying" it doesn't make my face shinier, as other sunscreens tend to.

Excellent daily sunscreen
This is the best sunscreen I've ever used, hands down. I have combination skin, and during my pregnancy it was very blemish-prone. This is the only sunscreen that didn't cause more breakouts! Great for combination skin, not too drying or too greasy. And it doesn't leave the strange white cast that some sunscreens do under makeup. Love it!

Why not use mineral sunscreen in this?
Why is there chemical sunscreen in this product? Mineral sunscreens are used in the daily moisturizing with SPF 15 and are much better for oily skin.

Not for me...
I was so excited to try this product, as I love many of what Paula has to offer to deal with oily skin. It seems to be the answer to other people with oily skin. However... this product did NOT work for me. It seemed to produce more oil on my face faster than if I was completely bare faced. I was really disappointed! Mattifying?
Very moisturizing, but not at all mattifying. It started off shiny and moist and my oily skin made it more uncomfortable as the day went on. I would recommend this to my 67 year old mom though, it would really help her dry skin.

If you're looking for a mattifying product, this isn't it, although it is an excellent moisturizer with sunscreen. My nose is just as shiny and not "mattified" in the least until I apply powder. This product does leave a nice finish on the remainder of my face.

I love the new Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion SPF 15. It's just genius. Despite how everyone says to wear sunscreen, I've never been consistent because I hate having stuff on my oily skin. Directions: Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Use a water-resistant sunscreen is swimming or sweating. Reapply at least every 2 hours if skin is exposed to sun. Sun Protection Measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early signs of skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with broad spectrum SPF 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.; wear long sleeve shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses. Children under 6 months: ask a doctor.
Should I reapply Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion during the day?
For casual wear, meaning less than four hours total time out in the sun, it is not necessary to reapply sunscreen as you will be protected all day. If you are perspiring or just spending a longer period of time outdoors, it should be reapplied.
If I wish to maintain the mattifying benefit of this product, should I apply it at night, too?
We don't recommend wearing any sunscreen at night because the actives aren't needed in the evening and provide no other benefit for skin. Instead, use our Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Mattifying Concentrate. You'll maintain a matte finish while reserving the sun protection in Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion for daytime, when skin needs it most.
