Lightweight and elegant, but burns!
I have purchased this moisturizer a few times and it seemed like a great solution for my combination/sensitive skin, but I have found that it just doesn't agree with me any more, and burns upon application. My skin seems to be changing from combo/acne-prone to drier/rosacea-prone, so I'm thinking about trying the skin recovery moisturizer instead. Actually, I've been using the whole skin balancing line for a few years, and it was great for when I was oilier, but I'm finding it to be too drying as of late, so I've tried the moisture boost cleanser (so far so good) and moisure boost toner (stings!) and samples of skin recovery cleanser/toner too (liked these - will purchase next time!). Wonderful Product
Even though I'm almost 50 (yeeks!), I still have slightly oily skin and many moisturizes make my skin very oily - I use this one at night and it takes away the 'tight' feeling after cleansing and in the morning my skin is so smooth! I love this silky, smooth moisturizer, which i wear under my paula's choice Best Face Forward Foundation with spf 15. It glides right on without adding any extra shine. (I would have given it a rating of 5 but i wish it had a sunscreen in it.)

Really great for acne prone skin
I am 34, fair skinned, large pores, red and sensitive, and acne prone - basically yucky skin. I tried alomost all of PC moisturizers, they all made my skin feel soft, but broke me out in pimples. This moisturizer leaves my skin soft with only an occassional pimple. I love the fact that it has antioxidants in it and niacinamide. I wear it day and night and I have noticed that my skin is not as red and my pores seem smaller. I also use PC Clear Cleanser and 2% BHA toner, I really like this line of products.

Broke out :(
I used this as part of the recommended three-step program- Skin Balancing toner, 1% BHA, plus the Moisturizing Gel. It took me a month to realize that the gel was making me break out. Without it, my skin has never looked better. This is definitely not for everyone. I've yet to find a moisturizer that will agree with my skin. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Not for Me
I have combination skin so I thought this would be perfect but it wasn't moisturizing enough for me. I would get frustrated and just slather it on which only made me run out of product quickly.Maybe if I try one of Paula's BHA products with it. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Best Light Moisturizer!
This is my all time favorite moisturizer for summer. The texture of this product is super silky and it just melts into skin instantly with no greasy residue. I love to put it on. It's not very moisturizing, that's why I only use it in the summertime. In winter I use Paula's Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer. I wish all moisturizers could have this texture though!

Very moisturize but not oily. Don't make my face shiny or give my any pimple. For a person who suffer from awful very oily clogged skin all my life. Wanted to love
I wanted to love it as much as I do your lotionwith SPF from the same line, your new RESIST serum and expholiating products. My skin is combination. After aplying my skin around the eyes and below started burning, it took several days of not using it to get red of the 2 red spots. The neck area was not so responsive. This is my go to cream on hot days. Goes on easily, with a great matte finish. Perfect under powder or liquid make-up. I have sensitive, mostly oily skin that sometimes gets dry patches and this gel works on all of it. Very happy face!

I have been using this moisturizer for over two years and I love it! I have combination skin so don't need anything heavy. I use it every night and also twice a day around my eyes (I use the mattifying lotion for my daytime sunblock/moisurizer).

I wanted something light to effectively moisturize my skin without causing me to break-out. Eventhough this gel has not caused me to break-up, it has not done a great job at moisturising my skin.I use it overnight and my skin still has dry patches when i wake up in the morning.. Only one I can use
I have searched for many years for a moisturizer that didn't feel greesy after 30 min of putting it on or react negatively for my skin. A girl I worked with told me to try this stuff. I love the moisturizer so much. I can't use the day time one because my skin doesn't like something in it, but I use this one all the time. My acne is calm, my redness is less, and I can safely say I am taking care of my skin.

Great Moisturizer for Oily Skin
I have been using the Moisture Gel for years and love it. It has a great "silky" feel, doesn't make my oily skin more greasy, works well under makeup, and doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes. I tried HydraLight once and came back to this, even have a few friends using it. Definitely one of the best PC products and moisturizers out there!

The Bee's Knees
This is by far the best moisturiser I have ever used. A friend recommended Paula's Choice for my rosacea and after trying a couple of different moisturisers, this became my moisturiser of choice. I have very oily skin and although my cheeks tend not to "flush" anymore, I have quite a lot of capillary damage, that I am determined not make any worse. This product is soothing and moisturising at the same time, and although I still end up super oily by the end of the day, at least I have a few good hours in between!

The Best Moisturizer I've Ever Used
I have very sensitive skin. Some products have caused either allergic reactions or acne. I've tried most of Paula's moisturizers and this is my favorite. It's soft and smooth. Its light texture looks great under makeup. I highly recommend it.

Almost the perfect moisturizer for acne-prone skin
Great product, but why does it only come in such a tiny size? I go through 2oz. in under a month using only a tiny amount once a day and that makes this one of the most expensive skin care items I buy. This is such a nice moisturizing gel! After applying it, your skin will be remarkably soft. The texture of your skin will improve. It reduces the look of enlarged pores!

Great moisturizer, doesn't add shine
This moisturizer is great on my combination, acne-prone skin. I use it at night after using the CLEAR system. It doesn't make my skin feel greasy at all but it definitely provides needed moisture for my dry patches. It also works great under makeup during the day and doesn't add shine at all. Only complaint is that 2oz is an awfully small size for such a high price.

Great product
I received this as a sample and will definitely be ordering the full-size product. It is comparable to more expensive department store brands that "silken" your skin (i.e. Estee Lauder, Lancome), but at a much more afforable price. I have rosacea, and this product does not irritate my skin at all.

Great for men post-shave
This is a great moisturizer for men's post-shaving. I've been using this since December and love it. It really does sooth my skin from any skin irritation and doesn't feel greasy. I high recommend this!

I can't stress enough how great it is to finally have a "moisturizer" that delivers beneficial ingredients without making me greasy or broken out! At 45, I need a little moisture now & then, but, especially with the now mandatory need for (gooey, greasy) sunscreen every day, moisturizer has been a bane. This Moisture Gel is light as air and it seems to perk up my skin. It works beautifully under sunscreen and makeup without making me feel like I'm wearing a slippery mask. Gets ride of the dryness
After using this product for a year or so I thought it would be a good time to review this gel moisturizer. I love this moisturizer! I do have oily skin so this is great for me. Wonderful product
I have dry skin and even though this is not enough for me to use soley as a moisturizer I use this as a makeup primer under my richer foundations. I also use it in conjunction with heavier sunscreens as a prep for them. The texture is wonderful, it absorbs fully and I don't feel like I have anything on my face but the tightness and dryness are gone. It is the only thing I will wear under heavier makeup. Perfect!

Scent senitive
Just want to sent a note regarding the scent for Skin Balancing Moisture Gel. I usually am very sensitive to scents and have not notice any scent at all from this product. I leave it on the counter with all the other products and it smells neutral. This is the latest product from the Skin Balancing line I have purchased since I was introduced to Paula's products 18 months ago and I have to say it is GREAT. This moisturizer feels like silk. The texture is fantastic. I think it is accurately labeled for oily skin--my skin is just a tad too dry to use this very light moisturizer alone--but the way it feels on my skin has reeled me in to the point that I want to use it so badly that I put it over my RESIST Barrier Repair Moisturizer. I can't say enough about how beautifully formulated this product is! If you have oily skin, you've GOT to try this super smooth moisturizer. If you have dry skin, use it as a primer for your makeup (let it set for 15 minutes before you apply foundation)! It's simply divine.

I love the Skin Balancing Moisture Gel. True to the name, it keeps my skin balanced. I have oily, acne prone skin and use the 2% exfoliating liquid to keep my breakouts in check (it's the only thing that will), but it tends to make my skin a bit flaky from time to time. To prevent this, I use a light layer of the moisture gel under my makeup. Not only does it help any dryness I may have, but I swear it helps my skin stay more matte than when I go without. Also, I use a bit as eye cream at night and my eye area has brightened significantly. I LOVE Paula's Choice!

I have used this product for one week. My face is significantly less oily. My foundation, which normally will not last till afternoon, last for whole day (but still need to touch up a little in mid-day). This product moistens my skin without adding any oil - it would not dry out your skin either. It would be even greater if it has a larger size.

Excellent, but...
I have been using this product for quite some time now and feel it is the best moisturizer I have ever used. Very light, very silky. A real pleasure to apply after washing just before bed. But...this has "plentiful" antioxidants. Now there are several Paula's Choice product, with "super" antioxidants
and even more with the Resist line. Should I switch? Are there more antioxidants in the new products. Why not a rating system from one to five on the amount/type of antioxidants. This is frustrating, confusing, and appears to smack of the usual kind of unsavory cosmetic marketing. I can't believe each of the many products is designed for a different skin type. It is a matter of flooding the market. Very disappointed in that aspect of Paulas Choice.

Best moisturizer
I have never come across such a wonderful, lightweight, non-greasy day time moisturizer. I have very oily skin, but often have surface dryness and flaking since I use both Retin-A and Benzaclin. Therefore I have to apply some type of moisturizer every day, mostly because my makeup will flake off if I don't. In the summer, this product is perfect, eliminating dryness without making my skin the least bit greasy. In the winter when my skin is very dry, it is great for daytime use if I use a heavier moisturizer at night. I only wish it came in a bigger bottle for those who go through it fast!

Great, especially for the eye area
I mostly use this product around the eye area. It's simple, effective, non-irritating. It makes the skin around my eyes smooth so that concealer goes on smoothly. Most eye creams either irritate my skin or make the skin so greasy that any make-up applied ends up 'separating' or 'slipping' off. I don't use this on my face during the day since I already use a moisturizing sunblock, but I do use it occasionally at night and the texture of my skin after application is just so smooth and soft - without the grease! Love it.

After reading these fantastic reviews, I bought this moisturizer. Sure enough, it's as good as people say it is. Typically my face gets really oily throughout today but between this moisturizer and the 2% BHA, my skin has never looked better, and far less oilier.

Awesome under foundation
This is a great moisturizer. I have extremely oily skin and this is the ONLY moisturizer I use. I was actually at Sephora the other day and did a big no no. I overheard a girl talking about how terrible her oily skin was and how she cant find a moisturizer for the life of her. I went up to her and told her about this. Its that great. The only complaint I have is they only make it in 2oz. It runs out extremely fast. I would recommend them making a bigger size.

Caused Bad Reaction!!!
I was looking forward to trying this out but was soo disappointed with my skin reacted to the product and formed dry flaky patches! I know Paula you are not big on La Roche Posay Toleriane but it is the only thing that works on my skin! Now I have to use this on my neck so that I don't waste my money...

Good Moisturizer
This is a really good moisturizer for oily skin. It has never made me break out, though I do only use it at night, never under makeup because my skin becomes too slick. It's the perfect last step and makes my skin feel great.

Very good for sensitive skin
I've used this moisturizer for the last few years. I have combination/sensitive skin and the moisturizer works very well, soothing and never clogging pores. It is great if you do not have very dry skin. It's lightweight, doesn't 'melt' in the heat, glides smoothly and wears well under makeup (exception: M.A.C. liquid foundations--both products are great, just incompatible on my skin when together).
In winter I need something a little stronger at times and a combination serum + moisturizer solves that.

Great moisturizer!
I have very oily skin and I didn't think this moisturizer would help it at all, but it truly does! I noticed that when I apply the moisturizer in the morning, my skin is about 80% less oily at the end of the day. The gel form applies very well on the skin and does not leave your skin looking oily after applying. My skin is very acne-prone and this moisturizer NEVER breaks me out even when I apply it in the most sensitive areas like my chin. I can just use a little bit to apply to the entire face. Highly recommended!

I thought all the reviews were posted by employees but then I saw Paula on Oprah (us ladies know to trust Oprah no matter what). I ordered a bunch of samples first to make sure I liked them and... this moisturizer works very well! It's great for my very oily skin. It has an unpleasant scent, though. I was told by the customer service rep that it was because of the raw ingredients. Wish it smelled better but I still really like it.

I just starting using this a month ago. In the spring and summer months, I don't need an additional moisturizer at night. Since the winter weather has arrived, though, I thought I would try this and it really is marvelous. Light texture, goes on easily, does not break me out or cause black heads. I also use it on my hands at night and it sinks right in without feeling greasy.

Almost perfect
I tried the Skin Balancing Moisture Gel, and it is by far the best feeling moisturizer I have tried! It would be perfect if it contained sunscreen! That aside, I will definitely continue using this product!

Great for aging oily skin
I have a very oily T-zone, but the rest of my face, not to mention my neck, are getting drier as I age. It was impossible to moisturize the dry areas without adding unwanted oiliness to my T-zone. Finally there is a product I can use all over!

This moisturerizer works great! I'm 24 and have combination skin. It makes my cheeks (tend to be normal and little bit dry during winter) very soft and T-zone very matte. The most perfect moisturerizer for those who have combination skin. No greasynes, no tightness, no dryness. Just good amount of moisture. Highly recommended. I use Skin Recovery Moisturizer for my eye area since they tend to be more dry.

This is by far the best moisturizer for sensitive, acne-prone, combination skin. Should I consider this product if I currently use Paula's Choice HydraLight Moisture-Infusing Lotion?
