Still deciding
I am new to Paula's choice and started trying out some of their products. The only problem I had with this product was the smell. I understand smell isn't the biggest problem but it didn't have a pleasant smell when I put it on. It did wear off a little while after being applied. It left my skin feeling great. I did love the fact that the product was very light and quickly dried on my face. I was surprised hours into my day that my face was not oily. I was expecting it to cause my face to be oily but that was not the case! I am still deciding on buying a tube of this. But overall a product worth trying.

Ehhh....
I really wasn't happy with this product. I love the Skin Recovery line my face had a bad winter but this felt gross on my skin very greasy no matter how little I used or how I applied it. I have to search high and low to find products that work well with my increasingly picky facial skin, and I LOVE this one. It goes on smoothly and doesn't leave too much of a whitish cast like a lot of other physical sunscreens do.

I purchased this to use on my facial excema - as moisturizing is supposed to help. Within only 2 days of using this product (once in the morning each day) my cheeks were very inflamed, and very itchy. I had made sure this product was recommended for facial excema before I purchased it. I find it very difficult to be constantly purchasing products to test them on my skin and was happy that Paula offered a product that should work. I normally trust Paula's advertising but in this case I did not get what I paid for. Additionally, after my negative experience I thought I would just use it as a moisturizer for the less iritable excema on my hands but the smell is so unpleasant I threw the product out. Light and fluffy!
Not super moisturizing but a light, fluffy SPF that absorbs in a few minutes and has almost no white cast on me. Has a bit of a fresh scent, kind of like cucumber-melon. Has not made me break out. I don't usually wear full-face makeup but I have applied makeup over this with no problem. I really love this sunscreen, though I will need higher spf in the summer. It is great for daily winter application and I love all the beneficial ingredients! While it is a bit pricy, I have been able to catch it on sale several times.

Didn't like the texture
I ordered this product because it was recommended for sensitive skin, and it was supposed to be great under makeup, but after almost two months of using it off= and-on, I can say it's just not for me. I really didn't like the way makeup applied over it, which was disappointing. I find it difficult to blend the lotion into my skin, it sort of just sits on top of my face and feels tacky, never fully absorbing. I guess I just prefer more lightweight/matte finish products, especially for use under makeup. Even though this is preferred for sensitive skin due to the physical sunblock ingredients, I've tried samples of the Skin Balancing SPF 15 lotion and liked that one much much better, and it didn't irritate my skin. It's too late to exchange it now, but I would definitely order that one instead if I could do it all over! Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Not hydrating enough and made me break out!!!
I bought this along with the skin recovery moisturizer for the winter months when my skin gets really dry but BOTH were not hydrating enough AND made me break out even more. Horrible combo. Was NOT pleased with these products at all!!! Customer Care Response: Thank you for your comments. The Skin Recovery products are the most moisturizing for very tight dry skin. It sounds like you need more surface exfoliation in order for your moisturizers to penetrate better in order to hydrate your skin but you do want to be careful and not use too moisturizing products if you are acne prone. Our Moisture Boost products would be better options and if the CLEAR BHA exfoliant did not work well for you, you would want to try the AHA exfoliant to see how your skin responds to it. An AHA will help your skins own moisture binding abilities in order to prevent it from feeling so dry. We will credit you for this product in the meantime. Perfection
This lotion is elegant and, like all of Paula's skin recovery products, a true lifesaver. The texture is fluffy and light, making it easy to apply. It does not leave a white cast, but does provide excellent moisture and protection against the sun. It is an excellent base for my foundation, and it has noticeably calmed by very sensitive skin.

I have worked in the cosmetics field at Nordstrom and I need to say that the quality of Paula's Choice compares to very expensive products. We called our brand name creams "fluff" because they looked and smelled pretty but didn't do a darn thing due to the fact they have no real ingredients. Paula's Choice is priced very well considering you get real active ingredients that are recommended by doctors. Good luck finding another brand that does that.

Great product but price, not so much
5 for the product - it's great. A wonderful consistency that leaves my dry skin looking fresh and hydrated, while protecting from the sun. But...a 3 for price and size. I agree with other reviewers that Paula's products are getting a little on the pricey side for the volume of product. This 2 oz. of product won't last long. I only order when there is free shipping or % off to try and make up for increasing cost of product. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review! The main reasons some of the products have been put in new packaging is usually because we find more suitable containers that are either better at protecting the formula, are easier to use, or are better for the environment. Sometimes it is because the cost of producing the products has gone up significantly. In those cases, rather than raising prices and keeping the same sizes we have felt it makes more sense to make the container smaller which has the added benefit of helping active ingredients stay stable. In other words, a large container may last longer but the active ingredients don't remain as potent over time. Way too greasy!
This moisturizeer is way too greasy. This was recommended to me by one of the customer service rep for Paula's Choice. I usually use Moisture Boost Spf 20 and I was adviced that since the colder weather is coming it may be best to switch to a heavy moisturizer. Unfortunately, this product is not for me and I have now wasted money on a product I can't use. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Makes my skin burn.
This moisturizer makes my skin burn when I use it. It gets even worse when I put on eye makeup, my eyes start to itch along with the burning. I also started to breakout with big pimples for the first time in years. This is supposed to be for sensitive skin, but totally irritates mine. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. This is by far my most favorite day spf lotion I have ever used. It feels and SMELLS soooo good. I would never ever guess it was a sunscreen by the amazing silky, fluffy texture and the cucumber in it gives it the best smell ever. I wish this was a big bottle available to use as a great spf for the entire body. I have normal skin. I love mixing this lotion in with a dab of spf 15 sheer tinted moisturizer and applying it with a Stippling brush. My skin looks and feels dewy and natural. Thanks for such a great product!!!

I love everything about this lotion. I have normal skin, not too oily,not dry,no breakouts just normal. I wish this came in the size of the 45spf nongreasy bc I would rather us this on my body too bc there is absolutely no SPF smell. It smells so refreshing and light and clean. I read the ingredients and says there's cucumber in it! lucky me I ordered it when it was on sale a few months ago for $10. I already had the SPF 30 and 45 but. $10

Like Very Much
I use at least an SPF 30 when outdoors for any length of time, but I was looking for a good mineral based SPF 15 for daily use under make-up. This fills the bill perfectly. I have light sallow skin, normal to slightly oily, and this does not leave a white cast on me. It absorbs quicky and my foundation glides over this so smoothly without flaking or streaking. In fact, this is the best under make-up sunscreen I have ever used. I do have some not so positive comments but they do not involve the quality of the product. First, Paula's video suggests using a nickel to a quarter size amount daily. Wow, if I put a quarters worth of this stuff on my face, I'd be swimming in oil. A dime to a nickel gives me full coverage. Second, Paula's video recommends this product for normal to very dry skin yet one customer care response to a reviewer notes that it is for people with the "dryest of skins" not for those with "slight to moderate dryness." This kind of inconsistency causes me to question Paula's advice in general. Finally, with this and several other of Paula's products, I am beginning to feel priced out. I don't know how long I can continue to pay $21 for 2 oz. I know there are far more expensive products but I am hoping I can find an equally good product at the drug store for far less. Review for the new formula and packaging
I used the previous formula with the previous packaging. It was good, but nothing to rave about. This new version? EXCELLENT! I didn't really have a problem with the prior packaging, but the plain flip top is better because you can control how much comes out. The formula is a HUGE improvement! It feels like there's more "slip" to it - putting it on, you feel like it's more of a moisturizer. The prior version felt like a sunscreen with some moisturizing content. Also, the prior version whitened, just a tad, while this version, there is virtually no whitening. At least for me (I'm about a NC20 in Mac colors.) I am so happy with this new formula!

I have tried ALL of Paula's sunscreens, and this is the only one my skin can deal with. I use it on my neck and it is the PERFECT consistency, not too sticky, it blends right in and can handle the application of my foundation powder right over it. Please do not discontinue!!!

Impressed with Customer Service
This review is primarily to thank Paula's Choice for excellent customer service. I really like this product, but the pump stopped working when it was still mostly full. I emailed the company, and they said they would send out another one right away at no charge. Sure enough, they did, in record time. I have many online choices, and customer service is very important to me.

Great for Active People
I'm a fitness trainer, kickboxer, basketball coach, distance runner and outdoors enthusiast with normal/somewhat sensitive skin. This product is a staple for me. It is fantastic!!! It doesn't sweat off, doesn't sting the eyes and provides great SPF coverage without looking like heavy sunscreen. Many moisturizers are noticeable when you sweat, but this absorbs so nicely that I never feel it or see it. It's a perfect all-around moisturizer/sunscreen. It goes on smoothly and I find it absorbs quickly. For those of you who find that it goes on too white, I recommend mixing it with just a dab of your foundation. My skin is fair, but in summer when I'm quite tan, I've found it can make me appear a little pale. But, I add just a tiny touch of my All Bases Covered foundation and the problem is solved!!

Not Loving This One
Being new to Paula's products I'm trying several things out and this is the only product out of many I'm trying that I'm not loving. This feels overly heavy and tacky on my skin. I think I'll skip on this one and stay with the sunscreen and moisturizers I've been using, while adding in several other Paula's products. The texture is amazing. I believe it's improved from an older formula which was harder to spread. This is lighter and fluffier. It does leave a slightly white cast on the skin, HOWEVER, this is unavoidable if you want to go with chemical-free sunscreen (my eyes sting badly with standard avobenzone-based sunscreen). AND, if you top it with a layer of light foundation (Barely There works well), the white cast disappears.

Nice finish but breakout city
I LOVE PC products. I've used them for YEARS. I tried this sunscreen in an effort to start thinking about wrinkles and sun damage. I've had problems with breakouts, and recently my skin has become a bit drier. I found that this sunscreen did have a nice finish, but wasn't actually emollient enough and caused me breakouts every time I tried using it. Too bad. The Moisture Boost sunscreen definitely did the trick, though!

Excellent Sunscreen
Excellent suncreen. Four hours in direct sun, not a hint of pink. It may be a good moisturizer, I tryed 2 PC products at once and am far less dry, which one worked? Both? For me, the white cast just means I need to rub it in more. 3 stars because of the greasy shine it leaves behind. Looking forward to trying the new moisture boost daily restoring spf 20.

Unlike the medium to darker skin tones, this is perfect for fair tones (even with a touch of sun). It is also a perfect product for those who might be normal to dryer skin, seeing that it leaves a nice moisture barrier to the face when cosmetics are applied-so as to avoid that powdered face look. love it!

lovely texture
I do really like this stuff. Does not have that tacky "sunscreen" feel. Very light yet a little bit moisturizing, perfect for my combination normal/oily skin. I don't use it around my eyes as they are sensitive to the synthetic sunscreens. I use Skin Recover Daily Moisturizing Lotion SPF15 for around eyes - wish this product was an SPF30 or more, though.

Excellent Product
This is a great product & works wonderfully on my rosacea-prone skin. The only problem is the plastic top always breaks. I wish it was packaged like the non-SPF Skin Recovery Moisturizer.

First Paula's product, definitely blown away. Extremely fast absorbing, perfectly moisturizes while does not leave greasy feel (I wouldn't even have guessed it contained SPF), and makes the skin silky smooth. By far the most impressive SPF from years of usage, I never thought an SPF moisturizer could be so complete.

The Only One That Works
I sincerely hope Paula never decides to discontinue this product because it is the *ONLY* sunscreen that I can use on my face. I've tried just about everything. The chemical sunscreens (like avobenzone) irritate my skin significantly. Other titanium/zinc sunscreens leave a blue/white cast on my face. But this product is perfect. It uses titanium/zinc which doesn't irritate my hyper-sensitive skin *and* it doesn't leave a blue/white cast on my face. It really is the only sunscreen that works for me.

Works beautifully on my super-sensitive skin. I use 3 pumps for my face and 3 more for my neck & upper chest. The whitish cast doesn't last. A bit pricey for me but I love having one daytime product for both moisture and sun protection, because I just don't have the patience for a multi-step regime.

Lots of Whiteheads
Not sure what's wrong but I purchased this lotion and the 8% AHA gel and the whiteheads won't stop coming. I've never had a problem with them before so I'm going to try using them separately to see which product is the offender!

I love the Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion. It goes on smoothly and doesn't leave a white cast on my face (as others have). I have been purchasing Paula's Choice products for years and I can't help noticing how the packaging has become smaller and the prices have increased. I used to receive my SPF products in a 6oz tube and now it's down to a 2 oz container. What a difference. I would rather purchase a larger container to cut down on packaging and shipping.

Best Sunscreen moisturizer every!!!!!
I am a Paula's choice convert!! I am in my thirties and have used expensive daily sunscreen moisturizers but yours is superior by far! I didn't have any problem with a white hue, in fact it blended invisibly, but it moisturized my skin so well and makes my make up stay on longer and looks like I just applied it at the end of the day. I don't know if this was reformulated, but when I first used it a year ago, I didn't like that it gave me a white cast. I bought it again a few weeks ago and LOVE it now. No white cast at all, it absorbs and feels so wonderful on my rosacea prone skin. BUY IT!

Wow! Glowing skin!
What I really like about this product is that it gives my face great hydration and makes my skin look bright. I read that some of the reviewers said it left a "white film" all over their face but I haven't had the problem. It does give my face a radiant glow so when I put on my Paula's foundation my skin just looks rested and brighter. I highly recommend this product!

Works for Sensitive Skin!
I tried this as one of the first Paula's Choice items. My son has very sensitive skin and cannot tolerate most moisturizers. He can tolerate this one, if his skin is not super irritated. It also provides a little SPF assurance (for me) when I send him off to school for the day. However, he has dark skin so he doesn't like to put on enough quantity.

Great with makeup
Love this product. I use it alone on "at home" days. Other days I put a dab on my hand and add a dab of my foundation (also SPF 15) to it and blend, then apply. Gives a light makeup cover with a slightly dewy look, which I prefer. Thanks

Too much of a good thing!
I use Paula's products & the only thing I can't find is a good day moisturizer. I've experimented. Moisturizer (oily) isn't enough & this is new product is way too emollient. My skin breaks out & it's very, very (too) shiny. Can you recommend something for day & night for a true T-zone?

Fabulous portable sunscreen - perfect for hands!

Enjoy this product!
This is the first spf product that has not felt heavy and greasy on my face, yay! Did not wear sunscreen on my face in the past due to the yucky feel so am really glad to find one that is comfortable. I don't have excessivly oily skin, but the matifying feature is nice! Doesn't moisturize quite as much as it could, but use the skin recovery cream at night to make up for it and is a good trade for a light feel during the day.

Decadent
This moisturizer is true love for your skin! It works great on very sensitive, allergy prone dry combo skin on my dry areas. It is a little oily but absorbs quickly and a little goes a long way. I have a light/medium skin with a slight tan and have no issues with the white cast. I am using it under liquid foundation. Since it is fragrance free it does have a nutty oily smell but it is not strong or unpleasant.

Terrific sunscreen
I really like this sunscreen. I have fair, dry skin. Yes, it is white going on, but I like that- I can see where I've put it and where I haven't. And the whiteness fades in about a minute. As for people saying it's too shiny or greasy, they are probably not allowing enough time for it to dry or putting a little too much on (the shininess goes away within ten minutes and doesn't reappear) or they're using a product too rich for their skin type. Love it!

Great for my rosacea-irritated skin
Love this! Blends well; non-irritating; has minerals instead of chemicals for sunscreen; very moist but not oily. Many moisturizers irritate me because of my rosacea. When my skin is flaking, I use the 1% exfoliating gel first and gently rub the flakes off, then put this on. It even brightens up my skin a little.

yet another beautifully formulated product
This elegant cream is a lovely formula for me because I seem to have devloped an allergy to the regularly formulated sunscreens that are not mineral based. It is a bit too oily for me (t-zone), but with the cysts, mysterious and long-standig bumps and other annoyances due "normal" suncsreens, I'm quite deligted with this all mineral formula with antioxidants. I find it that it soaks in adquetly so, hence, no white cast. I won't leave home witout it. Thanks again for yet another fantastic product.

This Works!
I have extremely senstive skin, and EVERYTHING causes breakout, broken blood vessels, patchy red areas, and so on. Paula's products do not cause problems for me. I don't even have to use the line for senstive skin. The one for dry skin works great. This product is excellent. I don't mind the slight smell....IT WORKS...that is all I care about! Besides, you don't smell it once it is on! Excellent Line of skin care, and I have tried almost everything out there!

Great mineral SPF
Almost sent back without trying based on reviews stating it left a white cast. Glad I tried it first. Medium skin tone here and not "white" on me at all. Light texture but moisturizing, absorbs fast, no shine. Extra dry skin may need extra moisturize underneath. For my slightly dry skin it's a great one-step; moisturizer + SPF + antioxidants. Best for Fair Skin
Many complain that this causes a "white cast" - true as the active ingredients of Titanium and Zinc do just that. This physical sunblock is best for fair skin as the whiteness is less noticeable. For med-darker skin colors try Paula's awesome chemical Avobenzone products.

Very good
I started using this winter. Keeps skin moist. I like the dispenser because the correct comes out with only 2 pumps. I apply right out of shower and go do something else while it is absorbed in skin. Whiteness is not a problem if you follow directions...wait.

I think this is the most fantastic hand lotion (my facial skin is too oily to use it there). It absorbs quickly, feels incredibly soft, and protects my skin from the sun. Love it!

Doesn't help dry skin
If your skin is at all flaky, this moisturizer won't even begin to address the problem. Instead, I reach for Paula's Hydrating Treatment Cream.

This is my current favorite winter sunblock. It protects also against cold wind that can 'bite' my retinoid-treated skin. I apply it immediately after Paula's lightweight sunblock spray, which makes it slip on very easily and appear invisible on my medium-pale skin.

Finally, A Moisturizer w/Mineral SPF!
I am SO excited to finally find a moisturizer with a mineral only SPF! This says it's for normal-very dry skin, but I have very oily skin and it works wonderfully, not greasy at all, sinks right in, and makes my skin look luminous and just radiant. I love it, worth the price!

Nice , but takes a while to absorb
I found this product to be a little on the greasy side but then I am using it for winter because I have dry skin. I was excited about the new ingredients Paula added and that is why I bought it along with the natural sunscreen in it. It is wonderful if you let it soak in before applying foundation but if your using a power foundation, it may not work well if you apply right after the sunscreen . I tried and it was a mess.

Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion
This lotion is surprisingly lightweight. It serves well as a moisturizing sunscreen, but I need to use it over an additional moisturizer for my very dry skin. I must commend the Paula's Choice team for creating a mineral sunscreen that blends impeccably and is virtually transparent. This is among the best of the best.

Should I reapply Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion during the day?
For casual wear, meaning less than four hours total time out in the sun, it is not necessary to reapply sunscreen as you will be protected all day. If you are perspiring or just spending a longer period of time outdoors, it should be reapplied.
