Moisture Relief
This cream goes on great and gives my skin instant relief. My skin has changed recently from oily during the day and not using moisturizer, to normal/dry/combination and needing moisturizing under my makeup. This has worked great during colder weather, but I may need a different PC product for the hot, humid summer. Some areas of my face are dryer in the morning but get oily in the afternoon. Love the fact that this product can also be used under the eyes. The area under my eyes seems brighter, and the little wrinkles are less noticeable. Will definitely purchase again.

Not bad but prefer others
Not a bad choice but I prefer the Hydralight moisturizer as there is less risk of irritation. Or if really dry I use the Moisture Boost Daily Restoring Complex with SPF 30.

Not Moisturizing Enough
This moisturizer applies smoothly and evenly. It did not irritate my sensitive skin. Unfortunately, it's not nearly moisturizing enough for my dry skin. I hope Paula will design a moisturizer for dry to very dry skin. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Skin Recovery Moisturizer healed Sun Burned Hands
Wow! This stuff is amazing! I have been using Skin Recovery Moisturizer for 5 years on my face and elbows. This past week I got a really bad sunburn on my hands while scoring tally s for a Bike Rodeo at child's school. My hands were red and hurt between the fingers. When I came home, I immediately reached for my Skin Recovery Moisturizer and covered my hands in it. I did this again in the evening before bed. When I woke up to my amazement, the sunburn was gone and I had no more pain between my fingers. I continued this treatment again for another day and now my hands are back to being in great shape! It may not be meant for this kind of use, but it sure worked for me. It was Better than Aloe Vera Gel! Thank you Paula for your great products.

Fantastic moisturizer for persnickety skin
I have used this for years and LOVE it. I have somewhat dry, hyper-sensitive, post-Accutane skin still prone to occasional breakouts, AND rosacea AND wrinkles. This moisturizer can handle it all! I've tried others and always come back to this when my skin cries for mercy. My only complaint (and I won't take off stars, because it is not the product itself), is the new packaging. The former packaging -- single cool color, simple text -- was lovely, fresh, understated. The new packaging -- maroon and grey, cluttered, and half of it is self-advertising -- yuck! I suppose Paula is trying to make her products look more high-end, but it's plain ugly to me. I used to keep my PC items in a basket on the counter but now they're going in a drawer! Another excellent product!
I have extremely dry sensitive skin that has recently been calmed and healed by Paula's Skin Recovery line. I started using this as a night moisturizer. It is very thick and luxurious, and it has not caused any reactions for my sensitive skin. It is not quite as moisturizing as I had hoped (I still have some dry spots) but it does a good job overall!

Disappointing
After seeing all of the positive reviews, I really wanted to love this moisturizer. I have acne-prone very dry skin so this moisturizer seemed great. Unfortunately, it made my pores clogged and lead to blackheads. I've been using the same skin products for months, and this was the only thing I changed in my routine, so I know this product was responsible. Giving it three stars because it is nice as an eye cream and doesn't irritate my eyes. Would not recommend this product to anyone whose pores tend to get clogged. Love this product
This moisturizer has become a staple in my daily routine, particularly during the cold MI winter months. I use it as both an eye cream (AM and PM) and a nightly moisturizer. It is silky smooth and very gentle to my sensitive skin. Recently I ran out of this item and tried to compensate with some other products in my cabinet. My skin was flaking everywhere and I couldn't control it. After a week of this grief, I re-ordered Paula's moisturizer. Within 2-3 days my skin returned to normal. I will continue to use this product as long as Paula makes it. I just wish it came in a larger container!

Terrific eye cream!
I've tried all the eye creams out there and hoped they'd live up to their promises. My undereyes were beginning to really look my age and I couldn't seem to hydrate them enough. I use this over the antioxidant lotion and wow, what a big different. I would say I've taken 10 years off my undereyes. While I don't like the Resist SPF 25 packaging at all, it has proven to be a great daytime addition of this product. My undereyes are smooth and moist. YEAH!

Best ever!
I,sadly cannot use Paula's products as my skin has become extremely sensitive due to the medication I am now taking. My daughter, on the other hand, would bath in the moisturizer. It has transformed her very dry skin. After using very expensive products she tried Paula's and was amazed at the difference it made. Her skin is moist, soft and supple. She said BEST EVER! I have SUPER dry skin. I'm talking flaky and horrible. Winter is just horrible! I've tried EVERYTHING. This very creamy moisturizer absorbs very well and lasts. I've used this for several years now and it has made a HUGE difference in my skin!

Works great as a hand cream!
My cuticles are very cracked and irritated and all my regular hand creams burn like heck. I had a sample of this and gave it a shot. Wow! No stinging and they were instantly softer. I just bought a bottle and started using it this weekend & they're so much better already. The "scent" reminds me of bacon (so of course it's making me hungry LOL)but it fades pretty quickly. I'm just glad there isn't actual scent or my poor fingers would be screaming.

Wonderful Product
This product is absolutely wonderful. I have dry skin and it works great in the winter time. I don't quite understand what this smell is that everyone is talking about. I notice nothing. I think many are used to a "fragrance" in every beauty product that they have come to expect it.

Skin Recovery Moisturiser
This moisturiser feels very good on your skin, hydrates well and is perfect for my dry, delicate skin. I love this product in the winter. For spring and summer, I use the moisture boost moisturiser though.

Make a larger size option
I have been using this for years now and it's great at night and during the day especially around the eyes under a sunscreen product. Amazing since I live in such a dry climate, I don't feel that my skin is parched and dry even after a round of golf--and that's a true test for me. The smell is not great but fades in minutes. I'm hoping that PC will add a larger size since I'm reading in the reviews that I'm not the only one who would purchase more. Seems I need more the older I get! I've had to resort to cutting the tube halfway and dig out the remains at the top near the opening where a lot of product collects. Another reason for the 5 star rating is that I've tried to find a replacement for this one product because I go through so much and can't find anything that comes close to the feel and effectiveness of this cream. Don't change a thing!
#1 Don't you dare add a masking fragrance; that would ruin this product for those of us with ultra sensitive skin who NEED this! Don't know why I didn't see it before; I guess I just assumed all of Paula's moisturizers had SPF, but once I saw this one didn't, decided to try around my eyes. Let me tell you about around my eyes: have you ever had eczema on your eyelids? If not, don't tell me how to handle it; it's hell! This cream works: no itching, no burning (eyes or skin); no flakiness; and it's not even greasy! Another unbelievable product from Paula!

As good as or better than many expensive creams
This is by far the best moisturizer out there for the price. I don't mind spending money on a good moisturizer, but I just spent $50 on a Dior one and was really mad at myself, because this works better. It can compete with any high end moisturizer and will keep skin supple all day. Really nice.

Very Effective
This moisturizer certainly delivered--my skin feels smooth, soft, hydrated. My only suggestions would be to provide it in a larger tube. I go through these tubes quickly and feel guilty about throwing out all that packaging. Also, I know this was supposed to lean more towards "matte," but my personal preference is for something more "dewy." I have suffered with rosacea & super dry skin for most of my life-doctors, medicines,laser treatments & it is still difficult to control. Then last year I had radiation treatments for cancer & the rosacea worsened. I read about Paula's products in Prevention mag, ordered it & was amazed..this product is great! The best, by far!
I have always had very oily skin but ever since moving to Northern California, but skin has done a 180 and turned very dry, very red and very fragile. I tried everything under the sun to help me cope with the sudden change but nothing helped...until I found this moisturizer. It goes on smooth, it leaves my skin EXCEPTIONALLY soft and supple and does not dry or irritate my sensitive face. It soaks right in without leaving a greasy residue and it doesn't smell bad at all. Not for very dry skin
It doesn't irritate my dry skin, but it's thick and hard to spread and is not moisturizing enough. My skin looks crepey. Life Saver
I get a lot of compliments about my 'porcelain skin'. What they don't know is how much work it is to keep it that way. I've struggled with random breakouts and rashes since I was a little girl so I've been through EVERYTHING trying to find a product that won't irritate my skin. Fantastic moisturizer
This is a wonderful, thick yet creamy moisturizer for someone with dry skin. This has not irriated or clogged my pores. It's wonderful and hydrating. I would not use this under make-up, but after all night it has nicely soaked into my skin and my face feels wonderfully soft. Love it!

Not moisturizing enough
I have eczema and extra dry sensitive skin. I read all the reviews on this site and decided to buy a sample of the Skin Recovery moisturizer. I used the product before bed and when I woke-up, my facial skin was extremely tight and dry. This product didn't cause a reaction, but it didn't moisturize enough either.

Ezcema wonder cream!!!!
My daughter has suffered from Ezcema for years and this is the only product that does not irritate her skin and she says she likes everything about how it makes her skin feel and look. Works well even w/rosacea
Have been using this and RESIST Moisturizer which is recommended for rosacea (which this is not). Did not care for Resist but love this since it leaves my skin supple and goes on with a matte finish. Wish it was a little less expensive however.

Simply the best!!!
This is the best moisturizer I have ever used. I have slightly oily skin on my forehead and nose and the rest of my face is very dry. I live in a desert climate which exacerbates the dryness. Around my mouth gets so dry that it cracks and looks flaky. I also have acne prone skin that is very sensitive so finding a good moisturizer is very difficult for me; but this moisturizer seems to even out my combination skin, it is not greasy and doesn't break out my skin. I love this product. If it is ever discontinued I will be devestated. Thank you Paula for this outstanding product. Those who are complaining about the smell must be used to a strong fragrance in their skincare but I do not notice any smell at all.

In addition to year-round allergies that keep me constantly rubbing my nose with tissues (abrading and causing flakies all over), I have rosacea and combination skin. I use this to not only minimize the flakies but, to offset any disturbance to my thinnish, delicate, sensitive skin. It's silky but doesn't create problems for my oily areas. It's the ONLY lotion I've found that does anything for my poor, thin, abraded skin.
I guess we're all very different when it comes to scent. I think the scent of this lotion is mild and completely inoffensive. As problematic as my sensitive, rosacea-ridden skin can be, I would be horrified if any scent, natural or otherwise, were added to this. To my nose it has a very mild scent right out of the tube that makes me think of a cross between Milk of Magnesia and actual milk (not at all unpleasant), which quickly fades to nothing. At the risk of being unnecessarily personal in my assessment, I think it's likely that some people who have become accustomed to a lifetime of scented products are having difficulty adjusting their expectations away from traditional cosmetic scents.
In my opinion, a lifesaver for my difficult skin. Please don't change a thing!

Makes skin really soft
I don't know what it is about this moisturizer, but it makes my skin soooooooo soft! I love it! I've tried all of PC's moisturizers, and I think this is the heaviest. If you are really dry and looking for something a bit more heavy than Resist or Moisture Boost, this is a good one to try.

THE BEST MOISTURIZER FOR VERY DRY SKIN, PERIOD.
This is truly the best moisturizer I've ever used. My skin gets especially dry during the colder months, and this is the only moisturizer that keeps my skin happy. except for the smell!! I purchased this for my husband's dry skin and he loves its emollient qualities. But I have to admit I have been searching for another product because the smell is unpleasant when he kisses me goodbye in the morning. Otherwise, I would definitely give it 5 stars!

I applied this "moisturizer" in the morning before applying make-up and was left with a taught, and crape paper look. This isn't a moisturizer for very dry skin.

My whole life I have been extremely sensitive to odors and smells of all kinds. I can pick up smells that others never notice. I cannot figure out what "smell" all you people are complaining about. There is a SLIGHT smell of whatever the ingredients are, but it is not acrid, sulphuric, or musty or sour smelling. I have to put some on my hand and hold it up against my nostrils to even smell it. Please do not change the formula for this moisturizer! It is the only one I can use because of extreme sensitivity. People who want a smell can add their own.

Thick and Creamy but doesn't clog pores!!
I love this moisturizer! I use it after applying the 1% BHA exfoliator - which I also love! This moisturizer is so rich and creamy, my skin soaks it up and feels so healthy and looks beautiful. I am 32 and have dry skin but am also sensitive to breakouts. This moisturizer has eliminated my dry patches of skin and flakiness and left me with healthier looking skin. It looks a little greasy at first, but don't worry that goes away once your skin absorbs it and the results are amazing. Thank you Paula!!!

Best Moisturizer I have ever used!
I have Rosacea and suffer from VERY dry, sensitive, irritated skin. This is an incredible moisturizer! Yes, I agree the smell is not great, but it is certainly tolerable considering the benefit received from this product (my skin has a zero tolerance level for fragrance). When my skin gets really dry during the winter months I supplement with the Skin Recovery Hydrating Treatment Mask and that works quite well for me. Thank you Paula! This cream is great for normal to dry skin. I can use this in the A.M. without a greasy or shiny appearance. But I usually use as my night cream & my skin looks great in the morning. I really love the Skin Recovery line & feel that my skin is healthier since using this line. A more youthful appearance is a plus too.

Great moisturizer!
I read the reviews about the smell and was hesitant to try the product. After having been through chemotherapy, I am unable to tolerate scented products, especially on my face. This product has no "masking fragrance" to cover up the smell of the ingredients. I do not find it unpleasant at all.

A perfect moisturiser...if you want fragrance...buy some essential oil and add it yourself. Fragrance is a big irritant and I hope paula never even considers adding it to her products.

Great product, Texture is good, it has state of the art ingredients but please put some scent in this product (vanilla extract or cocoa extract) it doesn't have to be fragrance, but people do not want to smell some of the other ingredients.

I have enjoyed using this product. I live in a very dry climate, so my skin tends toward dry & itchy, but with breakouts on the chin and forehead. This moisturizer works well for me. It goes on silky smooth, does not smell funny, and works well under sunscreen and/or foundation. I can use it around my eyes without irritation, which is something I cannot say for a lot of moisturizers. For extra dry areas and/or a richer overnight moisturizer I would recommend Paula's "skin recovery hydrating treatment mask," but the "skin recovery moisturizer" is great for everyday (used with an added sunscreen, of course).
Yes, I wish it were cheaper, but I have yet to find a cheaper drugstore product that is comparable.

Not able to use
I loved the results I had with this product on my drier skin and around my eyes during initial use, but unfortunately my skin began reacting to it after a few days. I didn't know if this was because of using it in conjunction with other products so I patch tested on my inner thigh and my skin had an immediate angry reaction to it. I'm dissappointed that I can't use it.

Dry Skin Saver
I a 51 with very dry sensative skin. I had been using Neutrogena Light Night Cream - in the morning my face would be puffy. This product is super calming and my skin looks great. Only thing I don't like is the smell - but will use it regardless.

My skin is dry. Which moisturizer do you recommend?
Several Paula's Choice moisturizers would work well for you. Choosing the perfect moisturizer has a lot to do with personal preference and trying a product to determine which one works best on your skin.
