Not my cup of tea.
I tried applying this a few different ways including brush, fingers and mixed with a dab of moisturizer and it simply didn't work for me. I think my skin is too dry for it - it seemed to emphasize dryness and flakes and I am not sure the color was right. It didn't blend well for me and I could always see it on my skin. I have had better luck with tube concealers than pot concealers, though so if you like pots, it may be right up your alley. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your comments and feedback. We will pass them along to Paula. For other concealer product options please visit: www.beautypedia.com Please contact customer care with any questions or concerns.

Liked the wand version better
Jan 2012: I still wish I could go back to the tube with a wand version of the concealer. I've tried lots of brands and this one is just ok. It tends to be a bit yellow and hard for me to blend (tried brush, specialized brush, fingers, etc). I also struggle with the color. One is too light and one is too yellow. But again, I can't find a better one so I stick with this one....until I can get the other flavor...one day....maybe...hopefully?Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. We will certainly pass along and note your comments regarding the product. In the meantime feel free to check out Paula's review web site: Beautypedia for other concealer options. Please contact customer care with any questions.

I really liked the soft cream concealer you had in the past called soft beige. Any chance you still make that shade? Customer Care Response: Thank you for your feedback, we apologize but this shade was discontinued due to low sales. Please check out: www.beautypedia.com for other options from other brands whom offer more shades. In the meantime we will pass along your feedback to Paula. Please contact customer care with any questions.

Creamy
I love the product it's nice and creamy but the packaging could be less bulky. I popped out the actual concealer pod and it only takes up about 1/3 of the base.
—Tracy
Concealer nice - old container broke
I bought this concealer quite some time ago, the lightest color for pale skin. The concealer itself is nice. It has pretty good coverage, and is easy to spread.
However, the old container broke almost immediately at the hinge part. I hope the new container does not have the same problem. When I tried to get the lid on or off, I ended up diveting the concealer, so it was too difficult to use, so I transferred it to a larger jar, which didn't work as well, either. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your feedback; we did change the packaging for this concealer to prevent it from breaking. Please contact customer care if you have any problems with the packaging.
—Reb
Great product
I really like this concealer. I also purchased the concealer brush with it and I think this makes the difference. It is so easy to apply with the brush. It really covers well, much better than others I have used that I paid for the coverage with it being cakey or greasy. I am fair so the pale ivory works well for me and is very neutral under my makeup. My one beef is there could be more in there!!
—Cynthia
best
i have the absolute worst birth marks in the corners of my eyes. they are the absolute most ugly purple and it looks like i always have black eyes, but this concealer works the best to cover them up. i find that it only works this well when i put it on top of the foundation and let it dry a bit before i put the powder on.
—ashley
Best concealer at any price
I wanted a concealer that would cover slight undereye circles, blemishes and other discolorations. This one does the trick, and it does it all while looking very natural. I have used many concealers at many price points, including the wonderful one that costs $70 (you know the one I mean). This concealer leaves most of them in the dust, and is easily as good as the $70 version, so the choice is a no-brainer. Another great product!

Outstanding Concealer
I'd been using "Paula's Pick" concealers for many years now, but I just got the Soft Cream Concealer and it beats them all. It covers, it stays put, it looks great! I have a line under one of my eyes, and all concealers settle into it, that's just due to the depth of the line. While the Soft Cream Concealer does settle into the line a tiny little bit, I was surprised at how little it did, and it is way better than any other concealer I've used. I will buy this again!
—Tina
Decent concealer, but flimsy container
I have pretty serious dark circles, and this concealer does a decent job covering them up. I just have to make sure that I put on a moisturizer before the concealer, or else it cakes. But the container it's in is really flimsy plastic. The catch is loose and I'm worried it's going to crack. A slightly sturdier lid would be great.
—Hilary
Works great for acne
Thanks to Paula's CLEAR line I almost never have a blemish and I don't wear foundation or powder anymore, but when I get the occasional breakout this is the concealer I use. It's creamy, covers blemishes flawlessly, blends easily, and lasts a decently long time.
—Eden
Not bad for under eyes, but......
This concealer is fine when used for concealing dark circles under your eyes but it fails miserably when used to conceal blemishes. Please, please, please bring back your wand concealer in the tube-it is the best concealer I have ever used for my occasional breakouts!
—Bobbi P
ok
I think concealer has to be the most difficult makeup product to do well. It can't be excessively drying around the eyes, but not so oily that it ends up in fine lines. It has to be natural looking, but still contend with dark undereye circles. I still keep this product, but use it more for blemishes than undereyes because of the drying and creasing factor. It's a good one to have in your bag, but not as the only concealer. I use Lancome Effacernes and YSL Touche Eclat for eyes.

Concealer 'Fail'
I was excited to try this after reading the reviews but have to say it didn't do for me what it's done for many others. My under eye area looked cakey and my lines more pronounced after applying. Sorry but not a fan.
—Christy
Bye-Bye Concealer
I was going to order my concealer again but Paula discontinued the third (darker) shade. Believe it was called "medium". It was the best and now I look elsewhere.
—Anita
Wonderful concealer, but bring soft beige back!
This is the best concealer I have ever used, and I've tried everything. This is the ony one that doesn't cake into my skin and match my skin color perfectly...that is until soft beige was discontinued. I understand that product availability is naturally based on sales, but I find it upsetting that many Paula Choice products are catering only to those of the palest skin tones.
Customer Care Response: We appreciate your comments and will forward them on to Paula and her team. Please know that we hope to offer a greater shade range in our makeup products as our clientele grows in the future.

Soft Cream Concealer - New Formula
This new formula is a failure at covering blemishes or under eye circless. Too sheer and dry.I will have to look elsewhere.

Help!
Purchased both colors and always prep my skin very well. Am meticulous with application, but this is greasy, and yet, not moisturizing (?!), difficult to blend, looks unnatural, settles into every line, and the final result looks powdery, dry, chalky, and cakey. Have tried over and over to make this work. We need concealer to conceal, not draw more attention. Please help those of us who trust you and know you are looking out for us. We rely on you. Please reformulate this concealor and bring back what worked for others. Thank you, Paula!Customer Care Response: We are sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with this item. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with Paula and her Product Development Team.

Silky and natural!
This concealer, hands down is the GREATEST concealer I have ever purchased. I'm 20, and have been searching for a natural looking concealer that, well, actually conceals! My under eye circles are now a thing of the past, as well as those pesky blemishes that take forever to heal. It is so soft and blendable, that once you have it on you can't tell you are wearing any makeup at all, just a finished and polished look.
—Julia
soft cream concealer very limited color options
I was just getting ready to reorder the soft cream concealer in soft beige when I realized that that color is no longer available and that there's only 2 colors available now. I had already tried the soft neutral color before I found soft beige. the soft neutral was just too light on me but the soft beige worked perfectly. so I'm asking Paula's Choice to PLEASE bring the soft beige color back. the 2 colors that are being offered are too light for those of us with darker complexions. unfortunately I'm going to have to shop for another brand but I was really happy with the soft cream concealer. what a shame that Paula's Choice makeup caters primarily to people with lighter complexions.
Customer Care Response: Thank you for your feedback, the decision to discontinue a product is never made lightly, and it involves Paula directly along with her team. As a business, Paula's Choice occasionally must make decisions based on how products sell; unfortunately the No-Slip Concealer and deeper shades of the Soft Cream were not popular enough to maintain them as part of the Paula's Choice collection. We will definitely share your feedback with Paula and her Product Development team.

Amazed at how little it takes
I first bought this concealer in part because it is small and compact, and I can travel with it.
What amazed me when I tried it was how little I need! This stuff will last forever. I just tap my sponge on it, and tap it on my face. (I'm one who prefers sponges to brushes.) I put on just a dot of moisturizer or foundation first to make everything moist and blendable. It's just what I was seeking for on-the-go (and at home).
—Jen
No Sunscreen?
This concealer would be the "bomb" if it also contained sunscreen! As it now stands I have to apply a little cream for wrinkles as suggested, and then sunscreen and then concealer, which when all is said and done creates too much slip.
—Brenda Vezzali
Good product, not quite right for me
I find this concealer disappears on me after a couple of hours. I miss the no-slip concealer in a tube very very much, I have tried many since and can't find anything close!

Concealer - Disappointed
Not sure if it is me or not, but I find that this concealer slips into creases and makes my eyes look old. Seems that way with all concealers though. The worst part is that the case fell apart opening it the second time. I like paying less for products, but not when the quality is compromised!

Concealer
I'm always searching for concealers that will look natural and provide considerable coverage. I found it in Paula's creamy concealer! The shade matches my skin and goes on smoothly and the price can't be beat. Thanks so much for this great product.
—Michele Hensley
Concealer container
I bought 2 shades of concealer and love them, and recommend them, but like other's I do not like the container. The lid broke off on both, and while I try and store them safely in a drawer, the tops are constanly knocked off and I constantly have divots in my little pots of concealer!
Customer Care Response: We are sorry to hear about your trouble with the concealer packaging. Please contact Customer Service for further assistance regarding this matter.

High Expectations
Product matched perfectly. Covered well. BUT, settled into every line and crease around my eyes. Maybe not for women over 50? I was optimistic so I'm still looking for the perfect concealer.
—Janet
Cakes into Fine Lines
Terrible for people with fine lines under eyes. The old concealer with sponge wand applicator was WAY better!! Bring it back. This one is no good.

Great concealer
This concealer goes on easily. It covers, does not cake or settle into my fine lines. I would highly recommend it. I only wish there was shade darker color choice.
—Antoinette
a real miss
i am a makeup artist, and I have tried every kind of concealor out there. This one doesn't cover well at all. It sinks into fine lines and makes the skin under your eyes look very dry and old - especially if set with powder, which you have to do to make this last at all. Stick to the skin care. You are much better at that, and I LOVE your skin care products.
—Makeup Girl
Does not stay on
I am a teenager with acne prone dry/oily skin. I get pimples, and I am finding myself having to reapply this daily at school. It's embarrassing. I just want a product that will stay on all day! I use the healthy finish pressed powder on top, and that just makes my skin oily. This concealer is getting a two instead of a one only because it doesn't really make me break out. Customer Care Response: We can certainly hear your frustration. This product is designed best for normal to dry skin types. Paula does review many other makeup products that are great for oily/combination skin types at: www.beautypedia.com. Please check it out for other products to try. In the meantime we will process a refund for the concealer. We will send you samples of the best products to help control shine and prevent blemishes. Please contact customer care with any questions or concerns.

Disappointed
I had high hopes that this would cover my medium circles around my eyes. It doesn't cover very well, and if I layer it, it makes my eyes look old and cakey. This has a lovely texture, but at 38, it doesn't work for me. It will probably work best for someone with no wrinkles and in need of minimal coverage.
—Cindy
Great Concealer!
I actually have and use both colors these everyday. The Soft Ivory is more yellow and great for red tones or covering blemishes. The Soft Neutral is more beige and camouflages dark circles or darker areas. Another winner, Paula!
—Jennie B.
Poor Packaging
I have purchased this product several times and every time the case has broken long before the concealer is gone.I won't buy again until the packaging is changed.

Not that great
I was debating on getting this concealer because I have such a hard time find one that doesn't crease on me and that's moisturizing and pigmented enough. I decided to try it out when there was a 15% off sale. I tried wearing it on its own, with an eyeshadow primer underneath and setting it with powder. While it was moisturizing, it still creased on me and was too sheer to hide my dark circles. Didnt really want to return it because it wouldn't be worth it after paying to have it shipped. Customer Care Response: We wish this product had worked for you. We will credit you for this product. We will be sure to share your comments with Paula and her team directly. Feel free to check out: www.beautypedia.com for other brand options.

packaging problems
The product is excellent. I purchased 2 shades to blend, and the plastic cases both broke almost immediately with very gentle, normal use! It's very inconvenient to not be able to close the cases now and unless they change the packaging, I will not purchase this product again. :(
Customer Care Response: We are sorry to hear about your experience with this item. We would like to credit you for this product without you having to return it. Please contact us by phone, Live Chat, or email for further assistance with this.

not my favorite
I love almost every product I've tried from Paula, but unfortunately this isn't one of them. I found that it did not cover the blu-ish tint under my eyes and the added oil caused my eye make-up to smear to the skin below my eyes.
—B
love it
I love this thing! It covers blemishes well and I also use it to tint my lips to make them paler :) I don't put it on my whole face, just certain areas....it blends in very well ...I tried using it under my eyes(have some darkness there) and it doesn't work too well....it gets into the lines...maybe it has to do with incompatibility with my moisturizer/sunscreen. I love it anyway.
—Galina
Not Satisfied
I tried this product after having used Paula's concealer in a tube and found the cream too messy to work with and doesn't cover dark circles as well as her wand applicator concealer. Paula's website does not appear to offer the concealer with the wand applicator any longer, so I will have to find another brand to replace it.
Customer Care Response:
We are sorry to hear about your experience with this product. Please contact our Customer Service team via phone, Live Chat, or email for further return assistance.

Absolutely Terrible
I am confused at how awful this concealer is . . . Paula does a wonderful job with her skincare products, and her reviews are for the most part spot on. However, this concealer was too light for my fair skin, and it was too greasy and slippery. I had to layer on a lot of product in order to conceal my dark, allergy prone circles underneath my eyes, but then the concealer looked incredibly cakey. Plus, the product settled into the lines around my eyes. I would not even give this product one star!

quick pro cons list.
PROS:
1) I don't wear foundation or powder matches my skin tone (light to medium)
2) Doesnt look yellow or pink - creamy neutral
3) doesnt settle into creases (although i am only 22)
4) feels and looks smooth almost satin like.
5) Been using it as eyeshadow base - beautiful. Doesnt change the colour of shadow
CONS: 1) It is more light to medium coverage - comparable to maybelline instant age rewing, but a tinsy
bit more coverage
2) I have light - medium dark circkles (not dark just a slight shadow) and it doesn't cover them completely.
Note that I do not wear foundation or powder, so I guess more layers ofmakeup hide discolouration. I have really good
skin and I HATE the feeling of layered makeup - like cake. Oh and I am cheap I refuse to spend 500$ on a billion different
products.
So overall more pros than cons, very pleased, I actually rate it better than maybelline instant
age rewind.
—Ana Matovska
been using it for years
It is not greasy and oily concealers. It blends very well. I love it!

concealer
This is the best concealer I've ever used. Most others are cakey or greasy or just too obvious on the skin. I will buy this again.

Unsatisfied
Extremely disappointed in this product. It did not cover my circles and made my eye area look old and cakey. Regret buying this! especially since i paid close to 15 dollars for this with shipping.

Great Coverage
This concealer really does it's job. It works well for dark circles and does not settle in fine lines. Wonderful product. Definitely recommend this product.
—Deb S
Fabulous
Goes on smooth and doesn't cake or seep into my wrinkles! Covers even my very dark circles and stays on all day. I love it!
—Cherie
almost perfect
I have very fair skin and this is one of the few concealers I've used that doesn't stand out as being too "cold" in coloring or too peach. It blends perfectly. It definitely lightens and brightens my entire undereye area.
My only issue is that I have two much darker, almost bruised-looking, stripes (where age is causing a depression between my lower eye area and the top of my cheeks near my nose) which are not completely covered by this product. However, the only products I've found that completely cover have the wrong texture and look fake (and often dry). I can live with the excellent lightening effect. I expect that perfection is a fantasy, anyway. Nice product.
—Julia
Neutral?
I just have a sample of this; I've only used it once, but it falls into the trap that many concealers for ladies with fair skin are subject to. It's too yellow. Fair skin is more often pinkish than "neutral." I know Paula works hard to rid her complexion products of pink or peachy undertones, but a neutral concealer for very fair skin is not neutral at all, but yellow. I will keep trying this concealer, it did apply well and cover well, a little goes a long way with this, but the color makes me *look* like I'm wearing concealer, which isn't the point at all. Paula, please, I'm begging you, make something that works for truly fair skin!!
—Rachel Huddleston
A must for your makeup bag
I would not be without this one. I have found that it competes even with the more expensive concealers and I have tried a lot of concealers from all price ranges.
—Shelley Kerr
Super concealer
I bought the Soft Ivory for my mom. Wow! It is the best one we have found. It covered her circles and blended very well. She's is her 80's with a beautiful complexion that doesn't need makeup. With just a little concealer, lipstick and blush she was ready to go! She looked finished and gorgeous! Her search was over.I needed the Soft Neutral. It blended smoothly, did not cake and lasted all day! By the end of the day it still looked natural. That was very important! I used it under my eyes and on my lids as a base for eyeshadow. I have tried expensive brands and this one was just as good or better. I love it! It's worth the price and then some! It convinced me.
—Sofia
Not bad
This product has great reviews but I don't agree. It's a little oily for me and it doesn't cover dark circles well, or my dry skin. I'm not saying it's horrible, but you can find an equal product for less.
—Kitena
Great
I have used Diane Young, Maybelline, and just about every other concealer there is. This one is truly unique. It covers well but does not settle in fine lines. Is easy to apply and doesn't tug. Great
—Janie
Great Concealer.
I love the consistency of this concealer. It blends well and doesn't get cakey in the wrinkles around the eye area. I love the fact that you can order cheap samples first. The colors are very neutral and it was easy to find the right color for me.
—Melissa Brackenbury
Best concealer ever!
I love this concealer. It goes on beautifully--I use my ring finger to apply it--and it stays put very well throughout the day. I use this all around my eyes. It covers up dark circles underneath my eyes and on the sides of my nose bridge. On my lids it serves as a base and helps my eyeshadow wear longer. Love it!
—Elizabeth H.
Awesome!
This concealer has a great consistency and blends great!
—Karen
Not for serious dark circles
I bought this for my VERY dark undereye circles. It was too creamy and slippery, so it didn't last long on my skin or truly cover the darkness. For someone who gets occasional circles, it would work. I need something denser that lasts longer. The search continues.
—Nadja Zyrkowa
Best Concealer
I absolutely love this concealer. It glides on smoothly and has great coverage. It eliminates the dark circles under my eyes and doesn't wear off. I've tried lots of concealers before, but this one is my favorite by far!
—Kimberly
Best concealer
This is by far the best concealer I have ever used. The consistency is perfect, goes on smoothly and instantly blends into my skin. My dark circles are gone, my skin looks flawless and doesn't look "made up", and the color blends with my skin tone perfectly. Thank you, I am hooked!
—Allita
I have always had a problem with extremely dark circles under my eyes. It makes me look tired and also accentuates the size of my nose. I just bought Paula's Choice Soft Cream Concealer and it has worked wonders! It blends beautifully with my skin (the online chart that tells you which color is best for your skin was accurate for me), covering sufficiently but without looking caked on. The best part is it lasts all day! I come home from school looking just as awake and fresh as I did when I left. Thank you Paula!
—Layne S.
What makes this product unique?
Soft Cream Concealer is a creamy concealer that doesn't crease into lines around the eye, does not cake or look dry, and comes in true neutral colors that camouflage dark circles while still looking natural. Soft Cream Concealer also covers redness, and minor imperfections with its smooth, moisturizing formula that blends easily over the skin. The lightweight cream finish provides medium to full coverage and leaves skin looking perfected.
This product is 100% fragrance-free.
Who is this product for?
Soft Cream Concealer is recommended for all skin types to cover dark circles, redness, or other minor imperfections.
How should this product be used?
Apply using your finger or Paula's Choice Concealer Brush. Transfer the concealer in small dots or a light coat of color under the eye area. Depending on the technique you prefer, you can apply foundation first, then concealer or vice-versa. Many women notice that they end up using less concealer if they apply their foundation first.
Blend gently along the undereye area using either your finger, a sponge (the sponge can be dry or slightly damp, depending on your blending preference), or a concealer brush. Concentrate the greatest amount of concealer over the darkest areas, and "feather" the edges so the concealer imperceptibly fades into the surrounding (non-dark) skin.
If the skin under the eyes is dry and/or wrinkled, it does help to apply a lightweight moisturizer prior to concealer. Be aware that if the moisturizer is too greasy or applied too heavily, it will cause slippage of the concealer into facial lines.
Soft Cream Concealer can be applied to the eyelids to even out discolorations and provide a base for powder eyeshadows.
What Makes Paula's Choice Products Unique?
Created by world renowned skin care expert and author Paula Begoun
Proven effectiveness based on hundreds of published scientific studies
Targeted systems for wrinkles, acne, rosacea, sensitive skin, oily skin, dry skin and more
Fragrance-free, color-free, free of harmful skin irritants, and never tested on animals
May Contain: Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides (FDA-approved mineral pigments).
Directions: Apply using your finger or a concealer brush (Paula's Choice has an excellent
Concealer Brush) to transfer the concealer in small dots or a light coat of color under the eye area. Depending on the technique you prefer, you can apply foundation first, then concealer or vice versa.
If you use a brush to apply concealer, it helps to use one that is synthetic (natural hairs will absorb the moisture from the concealer and can apply it unevenly) and has a tapered end. It should be firm but not scratchy. Place a dab of concealer on the brush and dab it on the darkest areas first. Use light pressure and keep your brush strokes small and controlled, almost as if you were "pressing" the concealer onto the skin. Once the product is on the skin, flip the brush over to the "clean" side and use this to lightly blend the concealer. Then, if you need a bit more, flip the brush again and use what is left from your initial application.
If the skin under the eyes is dry and/or wrinkled, it does help to apply a lightweight moisturizer prior to concealer. Be aware that if the moisturizer is too greasy or applied too heavily, it will cause slippage of the concealer into facial lines.
Soft Cream Concealer can be used to cover blemishes; however, the emollients and waxes in the formula are not the best ingredients to use on blemished areas. Those with blemish-prone skin should seek a liquid concealer with a matte finish, such as L'Oreal True Match Concealer.
Generally, if you wear a foundation, the concealer color should be one to two shades lighter than your foundation shade. Used alone, the concealer should match your skin color as closely as possible.
Concealer is also known as "highlighter" and can be used to do just that on the brow bone, the center of the chin, or in the creases that form from the sides of the nose to the mouth. Remember that light colors bring forward, darks recede!
Soft Cream Concealer can be applied to the eyelids to even out discolorations and provide a base for powder eyeshadows. If your eyelids tend to be oily, we recommend using a matte finish concealer or foundation instead.
What type of finish does Soft Cream Concealer have?
Soft Cream Concealer has a soft, satin-like finish. It never looks dry or cakey, nor will it make skin appear dull.
Is it OK to use Soft Cream Concealer on acne?
Ideally, no. The emollients and wax-like ingredients in this concealer are not the best to use on acne or blemish-prone areas. Liquid concealers with a matte finish are much better, and Paula recommends her favorites in her books and on her Web site www.Beautypedia.com.
