Comments about RESIST Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser:

I noticed that my old HG cleanser Skin Balancing was starting to leave my skin tight and over-dry, so I set out to find a better one for my uniquely oily, yet dehydrated, sensitive, acne-prone skin. After learning about low-ph cleansers, skin barrier, and transepidermal water loss from YouTuber Liah Yoo, I got a few samples and tried them out systematically.

This cleanser is great at removing surface oil and dirt, yet leaving a healthy amount of oil for the skin to protect itself with. It does this without the silicones or hyaluronic acids that leave my skin temporarily, misleadingly softened. It's the perfect first step in my quest to heal my skin barrier and help my skin fight against acne and dehydration. The pump dispenser is really convenient too!

    Service and delivery comments:

Paula's Choice shipping slowed for a while, but it has picked back up in recent months. I will miss the days when my PC orders arrived in two days, but that's business.

Comments about RESIST Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser:

I've been adding this cleanser into my rotation the past two winters and it's definitely made a difference. My often combo skin usually dives into full dryness territory with our harsh winters and this cleanser is definitely soothing and not overly rich. I still prefer the moisture boost cleanser but this is a close second.

Comments about RESIST Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser:

I was blessed with sensitive, combination (mostly very oily with dry patches), acne-prone skin. Paula's Choice cleansers made me realize I did not have to live life with painful acne all the time. This is now my go-to cleanser and I have a subscription for it. I don't perceive a need to switch up my routine in the near future. The consistency is like a very light lotion that turns silky once the water hits it. I can't say that this product is good for oil-prevention/control but that's not my goal with a cleanser. I would rather avoid the tight, dry feeling that most other cleansers give because they strip away too much oil. This product never does that to me but it also doesn't leave me feeling greasy either. Mostly I love the consistency and the mostly clear skin I have now! Oh and it's also great to use with a Clarisonic or other type of cleansing brush.

I have used this cleanser for a while and it has been fine. In the last two months though I have noticed that it leaves my skin dry and tight feeling after use. I will have to try to find another emollient cleanser for combination skin.

I am crazy about this cleanser!! This is hands down the best cleanser I have ever used from any line. It is really the only thing that removes all of my eye makeup. I rarely if ever have a breakout now. This was not the case before I started using it. Now I HOARD it!!!!

Comments about RESIST Hydrating Cleanser - 6.4 oz:

Over the past year and a half, I switched to using physical sunscreen because chemical ones were irritating my skin. Unfortunately, physical sunscreens tend to dry my skin, so I've had to switch to more emollient cleansers, which I tend to use at night. I tried a full bottle of Paula's Choice Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser in the hopes it would be a good solution for me.

I found the texture to be amazing--creamy and elegant, but not too lotion-like. Upon adding some water, the cleanser becomes fabulously cushiony and slippery, which is ideal for not pulling and dragging on skin. It is fragrance free, with many skin-beneficial ingredients. The product is not drying, but also doesn't make me extra oily, which is a nice balance. On the surface, there is nothing to dislike about this cleanser.

On the less positive side, I found the cleanser to sometimes be irritating, probably due to an ingredient sensitivity. I also needed quite a bit to cover both face and neck. Given the hefty price, I find this is a poor value for money. The biggest negative for me is that I did not see much difference between this cleanser and less expensive ones that don't have "anti-aging" properties. In fact, I find Paula's Choice own Skin Recovery cleanser to be much better because it is more soothing and a tiny bit goes much further.

One final nit--although the packaging feels heavy and luxurious, it is kind of a pain to handle. I know that people were begging for pump dispensers, but I find that the product thickness means having to put a lot of pressure on the pump, and the tall, narrow bottle can easily slip. As an alternative, holding the bottle to pump doesn't work well with damp hands. I definitely prefer PC's shampoo-bottle style for facial cleansers. I probably will not repurchase, but do think this product is worth trying.

Comments about RESIST Hydrating Cleanser - 6.4 oz:

I decided to try this cleanser a few years ago when winter hit since my normally oily-ish skin started drying out from the cold weather and constant inside heat. It's very soothing for my skin. I actually started using it all year now. The only concern is I wish it was in a flip top container instead of a pump. When the product is low I have to turn it upside down to get the last amount of cleanser but even then I feel like I lose some valuable product. I won't stop using this but please maybe consider changing the packaging. Or maybe someone can suggest a way for me to get the last bit of product out of the pump bottle w/o wasting product? Thanks Paula for your great products!

I have dry, sensitive, rosacea skin and cannot double-cleanse because it overstrips and senstitizes my skin. Because of that I am always looking for a great one-step cleanser that will remove my sunscreen and foundation. This cleanser is special in that it removes all traces of sunscreen and makeup in one step, and yet it rinses completely clean with no greasy feeling left behind. For me this is a perfect summer cleanser, but for winter I need a richer, more moisturizing cleanser to combat winter dry + flaky skin. Highly recommend for normal skin all year-round and for dry skin in summer.
