I've had a love-hate with Paula's Choice SPF products in the past. I loved how they were full of antioxidants and skin-beneficial ingredients but I could never find one with a finish I liked. They always seemed too matte or too greasy on my skin. When I saw this new product targeted towards drier skin with a high SPF, I had to try it.

This product is PERFECT for me! It gives nice light moisture but the finish is not heavy or greasy - it dries down to a nice satin finish. I even noticed a natural healthy glow to the skin. My skin feels soft and smooth to the touch. I have tried a few different foundations over it (Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder, Charlotte Tilbury Unisex Healthy Glow, Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation) and all wore well over this SPF - no tugging or pilling.

Please do not ever discontinue this one!

Really loving the texture of this. Very hydrating but sinks into my skin well and actually provides a nice primer under foundation. No detected smell other than that of sunscreen and it does not linger. Of all the Paula's Choice sunscreens this works the best for my normal to combination skin. The others tend to leave a greasy finish to my skin. No stinging, burning or rashes from this. Thank you Paula for yet another excellent product.

This sunscreen is a chemical sunscreen, not a physical sunscreen, and because of it I now know that I'm allergic to chemical sunscreen. I developed a red, painful, itchy rash all over my face and neck. I love Paula's Choice, but I will being the other physical sunscreens in the future.

So I seriously thought that I was going to be allergic to this chemical sunscreen because all my life I have tried chemical sunscreens and I have had a bad reaction to them within the first hour I usually know, interestingly enough I have had no side effects with this chemical sunscreen, I am impressed with the way it feels and the way it looks my skin, does not look or feel dry and works great with the new Aha 8% lotion.

            Exactly What I Wanted

            By JW

            About Me Beauty Expert

I was a fan of the Moisture Boost SPF 30 and not happy when it was discontinued. I love the mineral SPF's but the absorbent properties of the minerals tend to dry my skin. I am combo and more dry in the winter or when other factors come into play. I was hoping for a more "all skin types" chemical SPF from PC and I think this is exactly what I was hoping for. Aside from the great formula and the fact I know I'm getting great anti-age ingredients along with the high SPF, this is a wonderful moisturizer. It feels light but still provides a decent amount of moisturize without feeling the least bit heavy or greasy on the skin. The texture is somewhat akin to the Resist Barrier Repair moisturizer in that it is a lotion consistency that still feels significantly hydrating. I was not a fan of the former Resist SPF 25 sunscreen for dry skin as it was a bit too heavy and too dewy for me to the point it never really felt like it totally absorbed. While the description of this new SPF also states it is dewy, I find it to be more of a glow since the product absorbs well and I don't feel like I have any residue sitting on the surface of my skin. This is leaving me a bit more shiny than I would like right now but it's not bad and it's also August and hot and humid. Not a deal breaker. This will be a great SPF for the winter months when I am more dry. If you are very dry you may need some added moisture underneath. Considering it is an SPF 50 and the high amount of sunscreen actives, there is no strong chemical sunscreen smell and I didn't experience any stinging or sensitivity, even around my eye area. A win win.
