Not for my sensitive skin
By Purple Hazel
About Me Brand Buyer
Comments about SKIN BALANCING Pore-Reducing Toner - 6.4 oz:
This product line irritated my sensitive skin. The first two days were great, but the third day was a nightmare. I returned this product and switched back to the skin recovery line.

It really does balance my skin
About Me Budget Buyer
I'm 35 and have oily break out prone skin. Within a couple hours of arriving to work in the morning my face would be super oily. I'd have to blot at least 3 times during an 8 hour work day and have always been very conscious of it, boo! But..not anymore! I've been using the skin balancing toner for about a month now and the results were immediate. My skin texture changed very noticeably. The larger pores on my face have shrunken and the oiliness has been significantly reduced! I don't even think about it anymore! I only blot once a day. It's worth mentioning that I started using Paula's Choice skin balancing spf at the same time. These 2 products work really well to keep my skin in check during the day under my makeup. (I also use Clear extra strength bha to prevent acne, another must have). I've been using PC products for years and I feel like I finally found the combination that's perfect for my skin. And the right makeup thanks to her awesome reviews. Hope this is helpful!

It Actually Made My Pores Appear Smaller!
By For The Love Of Skin
from Toronto, Canada
This is my second time using this toner. The first time was when Hydralight toner was discontinued and I needed an alternative. I wasn't impressed the first time, so I moved on to the Resist lightweight toner and didn't like that one, my pores were huge. I came back to Skin Balancing and within 3 uses, my pores are looking about 50% smaller. Mind you, I am also using C15 Booster with Vitamin C, E and Ferulic Acid, Resist AHA 10% Weekly Treatment, 2% BHA Liquid, and Clinical 1% Retinol...I'm sure those help as well. However, I was already using those other products before starting back on Skin Balancing toner.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery could be faster to Canada. But the products always arrive in good condition.

Finally a Toner for my Skin
By Katie Z.
from Portland, OR
I had tried several toners, including PC's hydralight and Resist but this skin balancing is just the right one for my skin. I shouldn't say the rest are not good, it's just that it's formulated for different skin types and conditions. Everyone's skin is different and oil control has always been an issue for me. I started off with the Resist line and it was way too much for my skin though I do love the anti-aging properties within despite the price tag. Hydralight toner works well for me but it had a smell plus it does stinks a bit. 'Cos of it's discontinuation, I made a decision to try this and it's sooooooo much better. Cleans well, scent free and most importantly it serves a good base for exfoliation. Oiliness is in much better control and I rarely had breakouts now compared to last time.
My Skin Needs This Toner for Clear & Happy Skin
I have combination-sensitive acne prone skin which requires prescription acne medication to help maintain clear skin. However, prescription medications dry my skin out considerably. Reducing the usage frequency of the medication may reduce the dryness but doesn't control the acne. Adding moisture to the dryness helps the dryness but only worsens the acne. If I again increase the prescription usage frequency to control the moisturizer-caused acne then once again the dryness worsens. I get caught in a vicious cycle. This is true irregardless of what type/brand cleanser, toner, moisturizer or OTC or prescription acne medication combination I use. This was until I found this Toner and Drunk Elephant "B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel" (Review of DE Gel also here if it may be a product of help to you). What I like about this Toner:-This toner is a very light weight, clear, unscented, gentle toner that effectively removes residual oil, bacteria, makeup, cleanser, etc. which helps prevent new acne and helps my prescription do the job it is designed to do.-It also has Niacinamide which helped me prevent new acne blemishes and healed old acne scars-It has antioxidants which are essential to help skin heal and which many peer-reviewed research studies have determined are critical to help sunscreens better protect skin from sun damage.-It has balanced my skin and skin tone color.-It has had an mild anti-aging effect on my skin-Most importantly it has a very lightweight moisturizing effect on the skin. Thanks to this toner & DE's Gel I am no longer trapped in a vicious cycle because I can use the prescription as prescribed so my acne is clear BUT not dry from the prescription! For some this may be all the moisture you need.-NOTE: Some are irritated by Niacinamide you you may want to try a sample before purchase. Also, it only had mild effect on reducing my pore size. PLEASE NEVER DISCONTINUE THIS TONER!
One of a kind toner!
By Paula's Choice Fan
from South Hadley, MA
It's so hard to find a toner without fragrance that removes leftover makeup and excess oil without drying skin. This is it! Perfect for touch ups when needed. Hydrates while removing excess oil at same time. Love this toner!
Prompt delivery. Arrived in good condition.

Not for me
This did not work for me unfortunately. I also feel like the pore minimizing claims may be untrue but I will never know because I only used this for a week before I had to stop. It caused my face to breakout all over with small red acne-like bumps. If it were an exfoliate I would expect this at first because I do have large clogged pores in my T zone, but it's not so I'm returning it. My skin is more on the sensitive side but not overly sensitive, oily/combination, and acne prone. It did balance my skin and make it feel slightly more hydrated on my winter dry patches which was nice, and aside from the breakout it didn't feel physically irritating in any way. I recommend trying a sample of this if you are unsure because you have slight-very sensitive skin. The only reason I didn't give it 2 stars is because I do feel that this is a very balancing product as it claims and it removed any makeup my face wash missed (which is minimal if any).
Shipping was as expected!

My Favorite Toner from my Favorite Collection
By Jen the Sensitive
from St. Louis, MO
I have tried just about every toner and this remains my favorite. I am in my mid-40s with combination (tends toward oily), acne prone and extremely sensitive skin and this does exactly as advertises and doesn't irritate at all! Highly recommend this and the skin balancing collection!
Wouldn't Recommend for Oily Skin
I have oily skin and was hoping this skin balancing line would help to balance it out slightly. I'm going to keep trying the cleanser, but I've stopped using the toner after a week. It wouldn't absorb into my skin at all and left my face super sticky feeling, my makeup would get oily way faster than normal and my face would still feel sticky to the touch even after setting makeup with powder. Also increased breakouts. I could see someone with normal to dry skin liking this though, it feels very soothing and hydrating on application.

My Hydralight Replacement!!
from Lafayette, IN
I love this product and I hope to God they won't replace it!! Ever since they got rid of my trusty Hydralight toner I have been using skin balancing both morning and night. It doesn't sting or break me out. It's a must in my skin care routine. I have no idea what I would use if they discontinued it!! Plus this toner is way better then the calm line toner which is drying and irritating.
