Not a replacement for Moisture Boost!
from Ann Arbor, MI
Comments about CALM Moisturizer for Normal to Dry Skin - 2 oz:
I've been using Moisture Boost for years and purchased this as it was billed as the replacement for it. This moisturizer does not compare to Moisture Boost; it is nowhere near its equal in hydrating. It was sufficient for a lighter summertime use, but will in no way be adequate enough for the rest of the year. I did not have a problem with burning, or any other irritation. I'll be working through my Moisture Boost stash and then moving on.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Go for the Skin Recovery Toner instead
from Calexico CA
About Me Beauty Expert
To start I have rosacea- combination skin. I live in a very hot climate and its hard for me to balance my skin. Since this one is targeted for sensitive skin I thought i would give it a tryThis toner does not moisturize my skin as good as others from this brand. I get very itchy and scabby in the perimeters of my face, cheeks and on top of my eyebrows and when I use this it emphasizes it even more. I tried combining it with the BHA in lotion instead of liquid, and adding drops of oil booster but at the end its a lot of struggle considering the Skin Recovery Toner does the job beautifully. So, I would recommend if you are interested in this product, try the Skin Recovery Toner instead.

Does not provide enough hydration
By Skin care obsessed
from Livingston, NJ
I have been using PC like exclusively for over a year, and I have tried and LOVE any PC products which work well for my sensitive , dry skin. As for my PM moisturizer, I usually alternate Moisture Boost with Skin Recovery, but when this "Calm moisturizer for normal to dry skin" was introduced to the PC line, I had to purchase it. I was told this moisturizer is equivalent to Moisture Boost minus niacinamide, but as odd as this sounds this Calm Moisturizer for normal/dry skin has been irritating to my skin?? I tolerated Moisture Boost which does not make sense to me.(Too bad Moisture Boost was discontinued.) Furthermore, I do not find Calm PM for normal dry skin to be moisturizing, so I had to add the PC moisturizing oil booster in order to consider using this product as my moisturizer. I sometimes add the Skin Recovery moisturizer with the Calm PM as well. I seriously do not think this product is suitable for dry skin. Since this moisturizer has irritates my skin and does not provide nearly hydration for my dry skin, I will not purchase again.

Truly calms my dry skin

I was happy with Moisture Boost but I am thrilled with this moisturizer! The obvious difference that I can see is that my skin is no longer red. This is very soothing to my skin.

Ditto m the burning
I received samples and was initially happy that it seemed just like Moisture Boost. A few minutes went by and now my skin is burning. This is such a disappointment as Moisture Boost was the only cream I've ever used that truly calmed my skin. I was told that the only difference from Moisture Boost was that they took the niacinamide (antioxidant) out. Well, I'm skeptical because it is apparent from the reviews here that I'm not alone in feeling burning and irritation. Won't be buying this. Please bring Moisture Boost back or fix this product!

Does not mix with foundation
Used this in morning waited about 20 minutes before applying foundation, still my foundation became flaky, does NOT make for a smooth look. Have been using same foundation for 4 years so I know it's the lotion. Tried for 7 days with same results

Tried this product and very disappointed. It burns, I stopped using it and used my usual Paulas products, then tried it again, it burned again. Very disappointed, don't discontinue what works!

Irritating and drying
from Richmond, VA
I have used moisture boost moisturizer for several years now and love it. I searched far and wide to find a moisturizer that wouldn'tirritate my sensitive skin. THEN I find out Paula is discontinuingmoisture boost and recommend Calm Redness Relief. After 2weeks my skin is so irritated that even washing it hurts. I am unable to use my retinol because of this. My skin is peeling. Please bring back Moisture Boost - this is not a substitute!

Everything I Need
from Minneapolis, MN
I have oily/combo skin, but since starting tretinoin I've need a heavier moisturizer. I was excited to order this because it has jojoba oil in it, which I've been fond of for years and I knew my skin would tolerate it (versus oils in other heavy moisturizers that can break me out). This has worked perfectly to moisturize and soothe dry areas of my skin. I haven't had any breakouts from use, and no tingling or irritation at all. I highly recommend this, and I prefer it over the Skin Recovery moisturizer.

didn't help with redness
from San Jose
used as a daily moisturizer but redness got worse and I got a rash on checks. It didn't feel irritating but obviously it was once I stopped using it my skin got much better.
