Comments about CALM Moisturizer for Normal to Oily Skin - 2 oz:
WHY does Paula's Choice keep getting rid of great products, and replacing them with products we don't like??? Pretty soon, I won't be using any PC products at all! This CALM moisturizer is NOTHING like Hydralight, so stop trying to pawn it off on us as a replacement!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought this because the Hydralight without SPF was no longer available. If I could get the Hydralight, I'd never bother with this again. I have ultra-sensitive, finicky, combo-oily, rosacea skin that seems to tolerate this ok as long as I'm not in the middle of a flare (my flares tend to be triggered by heat and sun. I live in FL and I can use SPF for the sun, but I can't really avoid the heat, so I'm constantly trying to knock down flares). While it seems to absorb well so I don't feel greasy, I still have trouble getting it set well enough that it doesn't make my makeup pill up and get all weird. I do like that it is lightweight and smooth and there's no greasiness. My skin does feel soft after applying it. But the strong chance I'm going to see increased inflammation/irritation makes me wish I could still get the Hydralight. PLEASE consider bringing it back!

Not a Replacement for Hydralight
By Hydralight Fan
This moisturizer does not compare to Hydralight, it's texture is more like silicone and it doesn't moisturize nearly as well. This product also caused me to break out, something Hydralight has never done to me before

It's no Hydralight...
from Chicago, IL
I used to use the Hydralight moisturizer for nighttime. I like the Calm SPF moisturizer so I figured this would be adequate. It's fine, but it's really not as good as the Hydralight lotion it replaced. It's not as moisturizing and I swear it stings my face a tiny bit sometimes. I will use it up but will not repurchase. I still don't understand why the Hydralight line was discontinued...

Please bring back hydralight
Please please bring back hydralight lotion for normal to oily skin. This moisturizer is no where near as good and really irritates my skin. It also doesn't sit well under makeup. Hydralight was the only moisturizer I had ever found that worked for me and I have struggled ever since to find something that works. Please bring it back!

To me, this seems like a great replacement for the hydralight lotion. It is very light and non greasy. If you have oily skin I recommend it

Gentle, matte-feeling daytime moisturizer
from Austin, TX
In my opinion, this is still inferior to the Hydralight moisturizer and I was really disappointed when I first tried it. The product first comes out as a somewhat thick, silicone-y gel, but once applied it felt too matte, like it was barely providing any moisture at all. But after repeated use and experimentation, I have come around. It's completely inadequate as a night time moisturizer unless you are both very young and very oily, but now I find that it works really well as a day time moisturizer under my sunscreen and makeup. I have oily skin and live in central Texas so its matte quality is a plus. I can also see it as a good moisturizer for men since it'll absorb quickly and not look dewy. It definitely has never caused irritation or acne for me. I just think it was a mistake on the company's part to market this as a replacement for Hydralight because they're too different and it sets up the wrong expectations.

When I first used this I must have been doing something wrong because it left my face feeling tacky. Once I figured out that problem I feel in love with the way this leaves my face feeling. I have normal to slightly oily skin and this just absorbs right in and leaves my skin feeling like silk. I've never used the hydralight without SPF so I can't compare, but this moisturizer is different from any other moisturizer I've ever used. It feels like nothing is there after it's been applied. I love it. The only problem is it doesn't have SPF so I was only using it at night. But the hydralight with sun protection feels too greasy on my face so I've taken to using this in the day as well with an SPF foundation, although I don't think that is a sufficient long term solution, especially with summer coming up.

I switched to the Calm Redness Relief products when Hydralight regimen discontinued and my skin has not looked as good as it did with the Hydralight line, please bring it back! Hydralight REALLY helped my rosacea, the redness relief products seem to be making it worse than ever.

Made my skin burn
All of the Calm products make my face burn. The moisturizer burned the most.
