Best Mineral Sunscreen Available
from Greenville, SC
About Me Minimalist
Comments about CALM SPF 30 Moisturizer for Normal to Oily Skin - 2 oz:
I wanted to use only mineral based sunscreens. The top brands from the drugstore left my face very greasy and uncomfortable. This sunscreen goes on beautifully and never irritates my skin or eyes. My husband and I both use it and we are hard to please. Paula's Choice products are the best, I have been using them for over 20 years. Cheers to the team and everyone who leaves a review.

Best Moisturizer I've Ever Found
By Apollo Dionysus
from Eugene, OR
I live in the state with the highest rate of skin cancer relative to population, and I'm very active outside, so I desperately need SPF protection. The problem has always been that sunscreens mix with sweat and sting my eyes. This is unavoidable if you have an active lifestyle, and it can actually be very dangerous. I have literally almost died twice because, at a critical moment, my sunscreen got into my eyes and effectively blinded me. The first time I was hiking and heard the rattlesnakes warn me about encroaching into their territory, but when I started to look around, my eyes began to sting so intensely that I had to close them. I panicked and almost stepped on a mama rattler who was determined to guard her babies. The other incident occurred while I was rock climbing - you can imagine the rest of that story. The point is this: I have never found a moisturizer with SPF that doesn't smell awful and that doesn't burn my eyes while I'm using it outside under conditions that are sometimes perilous. It amazes me that companies don't consider this practical aspect of SPF product when developing and marketing their products because the problem exists on a lesser scale for everyone: playing tennis or other sports outside, for example, definitely requires using SPF, but if you can't see, you'll probably lose.I don't know why or how this SPF moisturizer is different with respect to ingredients or formulation, but it just doesn't irritate my eyes like other products do - even PC products: I used to used the PC4 Men SPF moisturizer, but it too caused my eyes to water and burn. I am so happy with this moisturizer that I switched all my products to the Calm collection. I've had very good results.

Great Sun Screen for Oily Skin
By Lelah the Wire Installer
from Dothan, AL
Due to my oily and break out prone skin I have never been able to use a sun screen that didn't cause my skin to break out. Worst of all was sweating and having the sun screen melt off and get into my eyes! I discovered Paula's products and tried the Clear line sun screen. It was better than anything else I'd tried but my skin still broke out during the summer. I decided to try this sun screen and I love it! It goes on white but if your skin is oily that's not a problem for long. It's a little too drying for my skin in winter so I switch to the Resist for Normal to Oily skin. I don't find the Calm SPF 30 to be really moisturizing but I don't feel that's an issue for people with oily skin. It does make my skin feel smoother and it's great to finally find a product that protects my skin from sun damage without causing break outs. Love this stuff!
About Me Beauty Conscious
I'm very impressed with how the Calm SPF 30 Moisturizer didn't make my oily skin oily! Actually, it leaves a very beautiful finish and sets great under my foundation. I never use SPF sparingly; I like knowing my skin is fully protected and this product blends easily. What a fantastic mineral SPF, I'm in love!!!
Shipping through Paula's Choice is always incredible. I've been ordering for years and have always experienced the fastest shipping!

An improved hydralight!!
About Me Skin Care Professional
This is like an improved version of hydralight. They say it's the same formula but I don't find that to be true. I find the calm to be slightly more smooth and watery. I also find calm to be slightly less matte and less drying which I prefer. VERY minimal white cast and it applies smooth and creamy but it absorbs fast. It adds radiance though, just know that. It's a mineral sunscreen so they always by nature add a slight to high shine. I would say this one is slightly radiant but dry to the touch. I really REALLY like this one. More than hydralight. Will totally repurchase! I'm also sensitive, acne prone and am using a prescription retinoid. Never any irritation with this and I feel protected all day!
Always fast delivery. About 7 workings days to Canada. I wish Toronto had a free standing store (I would work there!!! Lol) or a Canadian warehouse.
My New Favourite!
from Calgary, Alberta, Canada
I have sensitive, oily, acne-prone, and easily irritated skin. I used to use the Hydralight SPF 30, but this Calm Normal to Oily SPF 30 far out reaches the Hydralight for me. Since beginning use a few weeks ago, my acne has totally cleared up and the redness has disappeared from my face. It has been a total turnaround. I use all the Calm Normal to Oily range and this moisturiser was the last item to come into my routine as I finished up the Hydralight. It is supposed to be the same as the Hydralight... but I'm wondering because the consistency is a little thicker and not as runny as the Hydralight, so there is the first difference for me. There is either a difference in formulation or the fact that I am using the whole Calm range that is making the difference. Whatever, I am sticking to this Calm Moisturiser because it works for me. Don't ever stop making it please!!!

My favorite sunscreen
from Brooklyn, NY
I have combination skin that's rosacea- and acne-prone. I use this product as the replacement for Paula's Hydralight Shine-Free SPF 30. It appears to be the same formula: mineral-based, non-greasy, soothing, and wears well under makeup. I love this stuff because it lightly hydrates my skin while also providing sun protection, and it's safe for rosacea. My skin gets a little greasy later in the day when I wear this product, but I just lightly blot my face with tissue paper to remove the shine. I highly recommend this as a daily sunscreen and moisturizer.

Wonderful spf protection for oily, red skin
from New England, US
I have very acne prone, oily skin. Many PC products have helped me manage it. I often struggle with sun protection though, because of greasy, thick products that feel heavy. This product /can/ feel that way, but if you use it well and give it time, I find it to be a wonderful spf protector that makes my skin look better without makeup.Remembering that with all sun protection products you must apply liberally for the benefit, the key is to dispense a good amount of product, smear it on your whole face - not overly rubbing it in, and then give it 30 to 60 seconds to soak in. Then finish blending in the rest with finger tips. I find this helps it absorb better, leaving me with a satin/matte finish, that calms redness and seems to blur my imperfections. I love it.
A Surprise Favorite
About Me Beauty Expert
This has become my favorite sunscreen, and I never thought I would have a favorite sunscreen. It has no smell, it protects well, and it does not leave my face oily. The sunscreens is mineral but there's no white cast (I'm very fair). I love using this under makeup, specifically. No problems using it right up to my eyes.It is a little runny, but that does not bother me at all. I am on my fourth tube and I have rarely ever bought the same facial sunscreen twice in my life (and I'm a 47-year old skincare junkie). Really wonderful product. I only wish it came in a bigger package.

I gave this two stars because it's one of the few sunscreens that doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, but after using it for a few months I don't like it as much. It doesn't absorb well- I really have to rub it in so it doesn't look streaky or leave a white cast. It also leaves a shine, which i don't personally mind, but it looks patchy on my dry spots. You don't get much for the price, which I wouldn't mind except the tube's cap leaks and dispenses more product than i need. Ultimately, I like the product, but I think it's not worth the price. Won't be repurchasing.
