Comments about CALM Toner for Normal to Dry Skin - 4 oz:
I love this new toner. I switched from the Skin Balancing one, since is started using the niacinamide booster and do not need niacinamide in the toner. I use tretinoin and exfoliate my skin, so at times it can be a little red or irritated. This toner helps to calm it down. However, it needs to come with a pump!! The texture is slightly thicker than a regular toner and I just have the hardest time shaking out the right amount of product. I did not want to reduce my rating because of the packaging, but it is an issue for me.

One day's trial (two applications) allowed my rosacea and dermatitis to flare up. PLEASE continue making your Skin Recovery line, the only products that manage to be both mild and effective enough to suit my sensitive skin.

Not effective for redness
By Susanna in Seattle
from Seattle, WA
Paula's Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner has been a favorite of mine for years but because I suffer from redness, I purchased this new toner and some of the other new anti-redness products.I have used the products daily for a while but really haven't noticed any diminishing in the redness of my skin. The texture of this toner is a lot heavier than that of the replenishing toner and to me it doesn't feel as refreshing and soothing as the replenishing toner.I will not repurchase but am going back to the Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner instead.

About Me Beauty Conscious
As a guy with oily skin, this makes for the perfect moisturizer. Usually Paula's moisturizers are too much for my oily skin, especially the one without sunscreen from the men's line.Since I do get dry patches, I tried all the other toners and have been using the Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner as a moisturizer before, but recently switched to this one.The Resist toner is slightly heavier and perfect for normal to dry skin (instead of all skin types). This Calm toner normal/dry is actually perfect for oily skin. During the winter I might add the Calm moisturizer normal/oily, but that's about it. Here, you get the great silky and calming feeling from the Resist toner, without the amount of shinyness.

Fast Amazing Results
from New York, NY
I just don't understand how some others complain that it doesn't calm their sensitive skin because it works wonders for me. I've been dealing with rosacea and dry peeling skin for a long time and many things trigger the redness including sunlight and weather changes. Recently I had a very bad outbreak where nothing I used worked. My face was red, itchy, and peeling at some spots. Finally did some research and found this brand for the first time. As soon as I used this product my face felt soothed and the redness calmed right before my eyes. I used the whole calming line of products including face wash, toner, and moisturizer. The next morning when I woke up, it was obvious that my face improved a lot. Used the same products again and by afternoon, all redness subsided. I was shocked at how fast the product worked for me and I'm so happy that I finally found something that works as advertised for a change.

Not For Me
from Oak Hill, WV
I bought the Calm Toner for Normal to Dry skin when I came online to buy my usual favorite Skin Recovery Enriched Calming Toner. To my surprise the website stated that my Skin Recovery Enriched Calming Toner had been discontinued and that I should try this new one instead. I'll admit, I tried it for too long. I should have sent it back after the first week. Instead I quit using it and decided maybe I should hold off and I would try it again later. So I did that and still the same results. I am buying this for Rosacea and Paula's Choice is the only line I have ever come across that had a line specifically for Rosacea but this Calm Toner just made it worse and my skin much drier. So today I come to write a review and again to my surprise my favorite Skin Recovery Enriched Calming Toner is BACK!! Maybe others had problems with the new one too. Anyway, this is great for me! Thank you Paula's Choice and PLEASE don't take away your Rosacea line again!

Not my favorite

About Me Budget Buyer
I have rosacea and combination skin, been using the Skin Recovery Toner for years. I bought this one because it appeared more targeted to my specific skin issue. The consistency is rather dense, that doesnt bother me because I thought it would be easier to save product (the previous toner was rather a liquid that drenched the cotton ball) but it doesnt spread easy on the face. As I have combination skin my toner is mostly important to my dry areas and those got redder and itchier with the toner switch. I have been using it only in the morning to try and subdue the effect and it helped but my skin misses the night toner. I think Im going back to the Skin Recovery. Yet I didnt hate the product, just was not my favorite. A first in Paula´s Choice Products.

no noticeable effects
i don't like this; it does not reduce redness at all. Moreover, i have more breakouts ever since i use this product. I will stick with my pore-reducing toner from now on.

About Me Brand Buyer
I have Rosacea though no bumps but ruddy complexion and very sensitive skin and have used various Paula's Choice products exclusively for skin care for over 10 years-I'm 44. This is the first of all of the toners I have used from PC that irritated my skin. the thicker texture seems to soak right into the cotton pad leaving it feeling dry when wiping it across my face which is irritating to my sensitive skin. I also have bumps for the first time on my upper cheeks. Will be going back to recovery toner or possibly trying Resist. Also smaller bottle than other toners.

Having ultra sensitive skins that tends to break out in hives at certain time of the year, and periodic eczema, I had high hopes for this especially since I liked the old toner for sensitive skin. Unfortunately, this burned my skin like crazy, turned it red, and gave me a rash where I hadn't had one before. I think it has something to do with the plant extracts, but I'm not really sure. I love some of the other Paula's products, but this made my condition worse.
