Burns my skin. Going back to my Resist toner
from Austin, TX
Comments about CALM Toner for Normal to Dry Skin - 4 oz:
I had high hopes for this toner. I've enjoyed the Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner for several years but thought I'd try a calming version. I'm so disappointed! I'm ordering what I know works and I'll never change again.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I love this toner. So gentle and calming

About Me Budget Buyer
I have found my favorite line in this new CALM line. I just love everything CALM for dry skin. My skin is so sensitive, easy to break out and often have dry patches. I have tried the Resist Replenishing toner and while i like that too, I love this better. I feel like this fits my skin type much better. This CALM line really does it job in calming redness and breakouts. I see instant results and loving it right away. Love love! Thankyou for creating this CALM line for people who have complicated skin conditions like me! (Dry, acne prone and super sensitive).

One of the standout PC products for me!
Being Canadian and with our weak dollar right now, I am particularly demanding of the products I am willing to order from the US. They have to be unique formulations that I can't dupe for less $$ locally, and be effective for my skin concerns. This product is one of those irreplaceable superstars that is worth the trouble and expense for me. I have type 1 rosacea, and this toner is soothing and calming like few other things I have found. I apply with my fingers, quite liberally on my cheeks and nose twice a day. When I am having a flare up, this will reduce the redness for me pretty well immediately upon application.I have looked extensively for other toners/emulsions/essences with similar ingredients, and have yet to find anything that remotely compares. As far as the sheer number of proven skin soothing ingredients, and the lack of irritants such as fragrance and alcohol, I believe this product is unbeatable, really at any price...which annoys me every time I crack open my wallet and face that exchange rate, but it is what it is. I believe this product is unique, and worth trying for anyone with red, sensitive skin.

Major breakouts and irritation caused by this product
By Dr. D
I was a long-timer user of the Clinical Redness Relief Toner, but tried this one as a replacement when it was discontinued. Partially due to my inability to recognize that this product was irritating my skin, I began to have a significant increase in breakouts and general redness. I started removing products from my routine until I found the source of the irritation, and it turned out to be this toner. I scar horribly, and the resulting PIH from these breakouts will take a long time to heal.I think I was under the impression that there was no way a PC product would do this to me and therefore I am partially to blame for not considering every possible source of my breakouts. I still do not know what ingredient is responsible for my hypersensitivity, but now I am afraid to put PC products back into my rotation... It seems like results vary based on the sensitivity of individuals to certain components of this product, but I would use with caution if you have very sensitive skin like me.
Perfect for my skin.
I have tried all of PC's toners and this one is by far my favorite. It doesn't break me out, which is saying a lot because some of her other toners have. That said, if you have acne prone skin, I'd really suggest trying this out for yourself first with some samples. My favorite way to apply it is with my fingers, about a dime sized amount for my entire face, but I have to work quickly because this stuff absorbs into nothing pretty fast. Any tight feeling I might have had after cleansing is taken away immediately after using this and my moisturizers / treatments go on nicely over top. This just seems to balance my skin out perfectly. Love it, will continue to buy it as long as it's made!
Ineffective- Not anywhere as good as Redness Relief

It is your basic toner. Sadly it has none of the almost instant irritation relief that I relied on of the product it replaced. "Redness Relief".
Not for me

I think this product could be good for some people who have very dry skin. I used to have problems with acne, but this has settled as I have got older, and my skin is actually on the dry side now - aside from sunscreens most products don't make me break out (even heavy moisturizers with shea butter). This gave me small little pimples. I tried it six months ago and again a few weeks ago. Same results. I think it is good for irritated skin, but if you have a history of acne maybe get some samples first.

My favorite PC product yet
I don't understand all of the negative reviews for this product - I've been in search of a perfect toner for many years, and this is undoubtedly the one! I love it so much that I actually look forward to using it every morning/evening or after the gym.I'm a 30yo guy with very sensitive and oily skin (occasionally breakout-prone), but parts of my face get red/cracked/dried-out from retin-a usage. I don't use moisturizers (too oily), so I've wanted a good "in-between" toner - something not too watery/drying, but also something not to heavy/goopy. I need a toner to rebalance my skin's pH, prevent it from feeling "tight" post-cleanse, but at the same time not leave a sticky residue that disrupts layering of other serums/SPFs.I used to use the skin-recovery toner, but - despite being advertised for dry skin - I didn't find it quite hydrating enough, although it was still very good & calming. This new toner is a perfect balance - the consistency is right in between the skin recovery toner and the RESIST replenishing toner (latter of which I found too goopy/sticky). I had hesitated to try this new product because (1) I feared it might make me too oily, and (2) I found the calm toner for oily skin irritating/smelly/sticky.But fear not - if you have sensitive, irritated, acne-prone combination skin, this toner is wonderful. Has no scent, sinks right into the skin, leaves a smooth/matte finish, and is the perfect amount of moisture for someone who doesn't want to use thick moisturizers. And - for the first time in any product (from any brand) that I've ever used - I can actually see this toner reducing/calming the redness in my face. And I've experimented with a *lot* of products.

I was hesitant to try this on my combo skin but since my combo skin is becoming more dry, I thought I'd give it a try. For me, it's enough moisture (I usually use my "toners" as my "moisturizers") without being the least bit greasy or shiny on my t-zone. For reference, the PC Skin Recovery is simply too much moisture for my skin. As expected, the Calm toner is also very soothing and easy to apply by putting the product in the palm of my hand and applying it with my fingers to my face (I'm just not a cotton ball kind of guy as all that cotton gets stuck in stubble and 2/3rds of the product remains in the cotton ball instead of on my face where it does some good). I also appreciate that this toner has some unique ingredients not found in other PC products. As a skin care junkie, I'm always looking to try new ingredients on my face. My only negative is that I cannot apply this anywhere around my eyes without my eyes watering. This is not unusual for me as my eyes are super sensitive even to great products. I currently use the Earth Source Toner and the Resist Hydrating toner but am thrilled to add this to my rotation. Every skin care junkie needs three toners, right?

I am so disappointed in this replacement for Moisture Boost Essential Hydrating Toner. The product has been reformulated and is not nearly as nice as its predecessor. It is gentle, but it seems to do nothing but sit on top of the skin. I felt like the original MBEHT was gentle, but yet effectively removed lingering dirt. This formula is yellowish which is not what I expect a toner to be. I'm used to creamy white or clear. In additional to that disappointment, the size has been reduced to 4 ounces which is 2.4 ounces less product than before. Roughly a 40% reduction which essentially is a price increase. PLEASE bring back MBEHT!!
