Comments about CALM Toner for Normal to Oily Skin - 4 oz:
I found this toner to have a strange foamy texture, which I do not like. And huge minus is no calming effect, please improve the formula!!!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This Calm 'Redness Relief' toner caused 'redness'. I used this before and it was okay. I hadn't used it in a while and when I bought a new bottle restarted using it I got stinging and visible patchy redness. It also doesn't smell good and has an odd yellowish color, so it is lacking cosmetic elegance. It was another PC return.

Please bring back Hydralight toner
from Lafayette, IN
The toner just wasn't hydrating at all. I have oily acne prone skin that easily gets dehydrated but this product really did nothing for me but left me tight skinned and irritated. Even though the product is very light it still caused some breakouts. Hydralight toner was light but packed a hydrating punch. Do keep in mind this toner only has ONE humectant so if dehydrated skin is an issue look else where. Personally this whole calm line has been a bust for me which is sad because I really wanted to like it.
I like it

Definitely not my favourite
About Me Budget Buyer
This is probably the one Paula's Choice product I would toss out if I could afford to do so.I use the complete Calm line for combination skin and this toner the step in my routine that I really don't like. I keep using it in the hopes it will magically surprise me but.....I've tried applying it using a cotton ball and my bare hands but it seems to make no difference.Doesn't make my skin drier or oiler but seems to leave a whitish, foamy residue. I let it dry but it remains sticky and seems to make my cheeks even redder than before.

My first PC product was the CLEAR line sample. I found that was drying me out too much so I mixed and matched some other products, switching in for the CALM toner. While it did not dry my skin it did cause cystic acne on my cheeks and chin where it was not a problem before. I thought it was the exfoliator I was using so I started just using toner after washing my face. That did not stop the acne problem so I switched back to the exfoliator and went off this toner and my skin is getting better but now I have to get rid of the dark spots caused by the acne that was forming. Also this product smells so gross. If it worked I could have dealt with the smell but it doesn't so looks like I wasted my money.
Unfortunately, just made me break out

I previously was using the Hydralight toner which worked great; however, since I switched to this toner, all I get are awful break-outs on my forehead and chin, and the redness lasts forever. It's extremely unfortunate as I love all my other Paula's products. I'm switching back to the Skin Balancing Toner, I suppose. Nonetheless, since I stopped using this, my skin has stopped breaking out, so hooray! Thanks to the other Paula's products.

This is very similar to the former Clinical Redness reducing product, so much so that I had to read the ingredient list to see if it was the same product. This one may be slightly more lightweight (a positive for anyone with oily areas). I never use a cotton ball to apply toner---I think it wastes product and the cotton always gets stuck in my facial hair stubble (unless I've just shaved). So, I tend to pour in my hand and splash on face, which means I probably get a bit more product on my face than if I swiped with a cotton ball. With this product, I splash on my face and it produces a sudsy like film as if it has a cleansing ingredient in it. Since I don't wear make up and I already use an effective cleanser, I don't need my toner to cleanse my skin---I want my toner to calm and hydrate. And while this product does calm and hydrate, it's calming comes nowhere near that of the Calm Serum and Calm BHA. My last complaint is that the color of this product is very dark. Perhaps it's my imagination but it seems to leave my skin with a orangey bad fake tan appearance. In a world full of horrible toners, I feel a bit bad for being so critical of a toner that doesn't have irritating ingredients. But PC has set the bar very high with other toners and this one doesn't do it for me. If your oily skin can handle the extra bump of moisture, I'd still recommend the Earth Sourced toner as PC's best toner option for irritated and reddened skin.

Turned orange after a few months
from East Bay, California
About Me Beauty Expert
After a week or two I started to notice an orange film inside the cap, so I wiped it off and everything was fine. I should have known. After only a few months of using this product, the liquid had an orange tint to it and upon applying it my akin felt like it was burning. I will not repurchase.
Didn't work for me
I bought this hoping it would help the redness around my nose. I've used it for about 1 month now and haven't noticed any change. It also has a slight unpleasant smell. It broke me up on my chin too.
