Comments about CLEAR Extra Strength Acne Travel Kit - Travel Kit:
This review is mostly for the packaging. I have purchased the full size of these products several times and love the results. I thought the travel size would be great to take on short trips (size is TSA compliant) However the exfoliant leaked big time. I though I could just put some cling wrap and then screw the lid back on, but it still leaked and I put the lid back on tight! I purchased a second time thinking it was just a defective bottle, but this one also leaked everywhere. I had the same problem with the cleanser for both purchases, although not as bad as the liquid exfoliant. Very disappointing considering its tagged as a travel kit. Once you open this don't plan on taking it anywhere unless you want to lose half the product by the time you get to your final destination. This is a great option if you are just purchasing to test out and leave on your basin. Paula's Choice please, please change the packaging!

Exceeded my expectations
About Me Minimalist
I was skeptical to try this since the normal strength kit did nothing for me, but I am amazed! I get really bad cystic acne on my chin and this is the only thing that's gotten rid of them and kept new ones from forming. I have blackheads and enlarged pores on my nose and there is a noticeable difference after 3 weeks of use. I find it's a little too drying for my normal skin, so I reduce it's use to only my problem areas, and I can say I'm very happy with the results and will be buying the full sized kit!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This system works great. Previously I used a prescription cream which was WAY more expensive, and left white streaks on my skin. I really like that the Benzyl Peroxide is a clear gel. It goes on smooth, and I can easily put on makeup over it. It definitely dries out my skin though, so I usually only use it at night, and/or on problem areas. My breakouts have significantly diminished, and the few that I do get are far less severe. I feel like my red spots disappear faster, probably due to the salicylic acid exfoliant. I used to always use harsh scrubs to exfoliate, but I am sold on the gentle liquid in this kit. This kit has the same basic concept as most acne systems, but I think the formulation and packaging is what really makes a difference. The products are easy to use with makeup, and aren't in those cute pots (which spoil quickly). Other people have mentioned spills from the packaging, but I haven't had any issues. I would definitely recommend trying this system. It lasted me much longer than 2 weeks, and I ended up buying the full size bottles.

This product did not work for me
As much as I love Paula's Choice, I am disappointed in these products. I used the set as directed and found that my skin did not improve in the slightest. I am 24 years old and, over the past two years, have suffered from hormonal acne on my cheeks and jawline. I also apply makeup multiple times a day for my job and my skin is severely agitated by humid weather. I was optimistic about trying the Clear line and devistated that it did not work in my case. Perhaps I needed to use the products for more time than the trial-sized products allowed. Ultimately, I do not recommend these products to someone with skin problems similar to the ones I listed above.

I have oily/combination skin, with acne prone/sensitive skin with closed comedones (small bumps). I have tried many things to get rid of those very stubborn bumps, and I decided to try this kit out. The first time I used the products (mostly the exfoliant and clearing treatment) my skin had a burning feeling and was SO uncomfortable. It was also itchy, but I decided to wait it out because I have tried so many products without any success. The discomfort went away after about an hour, but I woke up with slightly reddish skin from the irritation. However, I decided to stick it out because I did see my skin become a little smoother. For a few nights, my skin was extremely uncomfortable... the bumps on my face did lessen (but not completely gone), and I had extremely dry and flaky skin as well. The redness in the morning went away. After using this for a few weeks, I do not think that the discomfort after applying these products on my face at night is worth the results. My skin does look a little better because my acne and bumps have smoothed out a little, but they are definitely still there. Plus I have very dry and flaky skin now. Maybe I should have gone with the regular strength? Oh well. I still do think this product worked in some ways.
Great for acne, too strong for me.

My acne was cleared almost overnight after the first use of the trial kit. The cleanser feels very nice, the exfoliant is strong, and the acne treatment fluid burns and made my face a little red. After the first use however, my skin started to get very dry and irritated. By the second and third use, my skin stayed red and itchy all over throughout the day. I stopped using the acne treatment and that helped, and I then I tried using the cleanser and exfoliant only once a day. After two days, the redness and itchiness basically cleared. I think the products are just too strong for my skin. That said, WOW did it clear acne FAST.If it doesn't dry or irritate your skin, this product is excellent. Just watch out for your colored towels! Mine got bleach marks a day after.

The cleanser is ok. 2% BHA exfoliant is start burning my skin just when it gets close to it. It was tingling and burning when I first time tried it all over my face. I figured I could use it only as a spot treatment. Benzol Peroxide 5% is extremely aggressive. I looked like I am sick - this combination of exfoliant and peroxide in few spots made my skin irritated - red and burning. Washing it off didn't help much. It was few hours after the red spots disappeared.

I'm writing this review for all of those who feel like they have tried everything! Dermatologist visits, over the counter products, pills, no diary, no sugar, researched, recommended, googled, products and have had zero luck on clearing up your skin. Trust me, I get it. I've tried it all with a mixed bag of results. I have cystic acne around my jaw and chin, enlarged pores, red discoloration from acne, blackheads/whiteheads...the works. I have struggled with finding something that has worked for YEARS. I took a chance on this set bc of the price point (honestly). Seriously, nothing has worked as good as this in all the years I've attempted to get clear skin. I've been using it for two weeks and my skin has never been this consistently clear. Yes, I still have a few blemishes and still have red discoloration BUT in two weeks my skin has gone from very inflamed to very under control. That's seriously no time at all to see something work in such a drastic way.The only set back is that my skin is very dry. I'll take it for the process of clear skin. Seriously, if your hesitating on trying this take the chance and purchase this trial set. It will absolutely help in the process of learning how get clear skin. Clear skin is totally possible. Don't give up!

I started breaking out when I was around 20 and it got worse and worse over the years. My skin type however could be really nice, tends do be dry but very soft on the cheeks area. Most of my breakouts were on my forehead and on my chin and it made me look like a total monster. I tried every product and it did not work. Then finally I decided to see a dermatologist and they prescriped me with doxycycline, one gel and two face wash products with benzonyl peroxyde %8 and not sure about the other one. The first month was terrible. It got ten times worse, pimples all over my face and they really hurt. However, I stuck to it and finally two months later my skin started clearing up and the next thing I know I got no more breakouts. It looked perfect for few months then I started breaking out again little by little. One pimple today, two after two weeks mostly on my forehead. I stopped being on my medication, however I heard so many good things about this company, like they re the best on the world based on how they review every skin product. Their active ingredient is both salyclic acid and bezonyl - I stArtednusing this and the next thing I know it got worse. Now I have more pimples and I didnt feel the redness going away at all. I tried sticking to it but I cant, I started breaking out literally where I used it. It just doesnt work for me, thats why I wrote the story to understand my skin type a bit better.
