Not for me
from Orange County, CA
About Me Beauty Conscious
Comments about CLINICAL Ultra-Rich Moisturizer - 2 oz:
I really wanted to like this product, but it's not very easy to apply to my skin. It's thick and it pulls on my skin as I try to spread it across my face. I feel like I have to use a lot of the product since it doesn't spread very well. It is moisturizing, though. I have used other thick creams that spread easier. I think because of the price, I'll just go back to Cetaphil cream and use Paula's Choice Super Antioxidant Serum underneath for the benefits.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I got this as one of the samples with my most recent order. Being in the healthcare field, I need something to help with my dry hands from washing all the time and thought this might do the trick. I'm not sure how well this works as I had to wash this off immediately. The smell was absolutely horrendous! Smelled exactly of putrid old lotion that had been sitting in someone's drawer for 10 years. Glad I didn't purchase a full size of this!

MUST HAVE FOR DRY WINTER SKIN!
from Dallas, TX
I use the Advanced Skin Recovery kit, but switched to this moisturizer + the Resist Moisture Oil Booster this Winter when the other moisturizer in my kit just wasn't cutting it. I don't think I will go back to the other one. I have used much more expensive products, and this one is the bomb!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Please don't discontinue this
from So Cal
Paula's products that are marketed for normal to dry skin do very little for me, because my skin is not normally dry, it is abnormally dry. In addition, I live in a desert region, so this is the only moisturizer I can use at night and wake up without tightness the next morning, and that is with hyleronic acid boosts, etc. It absorbs instantly and leaves my skin soft. It never clogs my pores or feels greasy. If you're having these side effects, my guess is that this cream is too heavy for you. That doesn't mean it deserves low stars, it means it's the wrong solution for your skin care issues. I've been using the resist moisturizing spf in the mornings and this at night, but I'm going to have to add this to my morning routine under sun care now that the latter has been discontinued. The other spf options are too drying alone. So I really, really hope the price reduction on this doesn't mean it's about to be discontinued, too. If it is, I'm sunk. Or shriveled, rather.

This didn't work for me
from Toronto, ON
About Me Minimalist
I have very dry skin and used to use the Moisture Boost line, which worked very well for me. This product didn't work so well - it sort of just sat on top of my skin and made my face feel sweaty. I didn't notice much of a positive difference in terms of dryness with this product, either. If you're going to use this, use it at night before bed - it doesn't work under makeup (too thick). I've been a loyal Paula's Choice fan for years but I'm now looking to other companies for moisturizer alternatives, unfortunately.

Thick and Pore-Clogging
By Hey Girl
from San Francisco, CA
This was my first purchase from Paula's Choice, and after hearing so many good things about this brand from magazines and beauty pros, I decided to give this moisturizer a try in my never-ending quest for an adequate nighttime cream for my dry, hypersensitive skin.Unfortunately, this cream was too occlusive and clogged my pores, causing me to break out! It feels horribly greasy, and it doesn't spread or absorb well on the face. I gave it two stars instead of one because it's fragrance free, and the quality of the ingredients seems to be good. But you just can't throw every single moisturizing ingredient known to man into a cream and expect it to work!TL;DR: Lots of nice ingredients; terrible, heavy formulation.
Holy smokies buy this right now
I grew up in West Texas; I know dry skin. Living in Maine I'm constantly plagued by dry, itchy skin and this stuff is absolutely the only thing that keeps my dehydrated, winter skin happy. Use as directed - last step of skincare routine. It's stellar.

Lifesaver for Winter Skin
from Upstate NY
I have dry, ecxema prone skin. With winter in full swing here in the Northeast, my cheeks have been red, irritated with raised dry, flaky patches. This moisturizer is the only thing that has helped. It absorbs quickly, is wonderfully emollient and its ingredients do not aggravate my ecxema. I put on a generous amount as my last step in my nighttime routine and wake up with soft skin. I personally like the thick texture, but for anyone who doesn't have very dry skin this will be too much. I only wish Paula made a version of this for daytime with sunscreen.
