HOLY GRAIL OF MOISTURIZERS
from Wilmington, NC
Comments about Hydralight Lotion - 2 oz:
Paula- I don't understand why you are retiring the Hydralight line! This is my holy grail moisturizer. Since I saw that it will be discontinued, I have purchased 3. I tried using the Redness Relief moisturizer and it is not at all comparable to this. It's much too thick and heavy for my acne prone skin. The Hydralight moisturizer is an amazing product, and I'm sad to say I'll be at a loss with out it. I use it nightly after cleansing, toning, and treating my skin with benzoyl peroxide. I highly reccomend anyone with oily, acne prone, or hyper sensitive skin to order it while they can!

Not my favourite from PC

Was this moisturizer awful? No. Great? Eh. Firstly, I found it to smell very strange, which was really off-putting. Second, it didn't feel as moisturizing as I needed it to be and somehow made my skin look greasy. Ick. I would not repurchase this, even after giving it a good go.

Great formula, weird smell
By Ellen Ann

I wanted to use this product in my PM routine. Lightweight formula is just what I was wanting. I mixed my VitC into it and it works well. Great for summer month moisture. The only complaint is a disappointing deal breaker. This moisturizer has a strong chemical smell that is hard to stand. I've stopped using it due to this issue. Otherwise a good product.

I am brand new to paulas choice and chose this as an intro moisturizer. After using for roughly 1 week (every evening), I have noticed some major dry spots on my skin. This product is simply too lightweight and feels great going on but does not last. Would not purchase again. I have had great luck with all other resist products and will consider those for the future.

I am sad to see this go. I have been using it for years and it's the perfect thing for my combo normal/oily skin. Skin looks better once you rub this on.

Nice consistency, bad smell
from Los Angles, CA
About Me Minimalist
I'm always on the lookout for a nice, lightweight moisturizer for my combo normal to oily skin. Sometimes my skin needs just a little boost, and many commonly available moisturizers are too emollient, turning my T-zone into an oil slick.I tried Hydralight Lotion because I liked other items in the line. I found this product to be a lovely texture, a thin milky lotion that applies smoothly, absorbs quickly, and is just a touch of moisture. The finish is slightly dewy/sticky, but feels weightless on skin. When worn overnight, it is just the right amount of moisture for my oily areas, and I wake up feeling like my skin is balanced (not too dry, not too oily). In the range of PC night moisturizers I've tried, Hydralight Lotion is toward the less emollient end of the spectrum, but more emollient than Skin Balancing or Resist for normal to oily. The product is also very soothing to my skin, which is a plus for me.In general, I prefer the texture of Hydralight Lotion over its replacement from the new Calm line, except for one thing--the smell. Hydralight Lotion has a nauseating cucumber smell. It is somewhat reminiscent of PC Skin Perfecting 1% BHA Lotion but not quite as strong. Fortunately the scent wears off quickly, but it does take the luster off my impression of the product.Regardless, I would recommend Hydralight Lotion...it is going away soon, but it is a nice product for a great price.
A so-so moisturizer

Very light consistency lotion. It was good in a pinch but it didn't really moisturize my skin. I can't tell if it broke me out or not but I did notice some tiny bumps after using it, like minuscule closed comedones. If you have oily, non-acne prone skin, I think this would be a good product for you.

I received a sample of this lotion with another purchase. The day after I used it, I realized I was covered in lots of little bumps. I know this lotion was the culprit because I normally don't put moisturizer on my neck and chest when I am applying it to my face, but since there was extra in the sample packet I did. I have acne and it was just starting to clear up when I used this. I'm extremely disappointed that this irritated my skin when it was on the mend.

Light lotion texture will be missed by some.
While I loved this light lotion, I have switched to the new calm moisturizer for oily skin. Those who love Hydralight will miss the texture. The new formula has a very light silky texture thicker than Hydralight that disappears into the skin beautifully. I use the new formula the same as the old formula, at night as the last layer over Calm toner, Calm 1% BHA lotion and Calm serum. I have very sensitive fair combination skin with redness much relieved by the new Calm line.

A Great Lotion For My Somewhat Oily Skin
By A Sun Umbrella Is My Excalibur
from British Columbia, Canada
About Me Beauty Conscious, Sun Umbrella Lover
I did the test where you wash your face with soap and then wait for 2 hours and examine your skin. I determined that I have somewhat oily skin by the feeling of slight oiliness / smoothness of my skin and the way my skin reflected light when looking in a mirror (aka "shininess"). I find heavy moisturizers tend to feel uncomfortable, so I was looking for a moisturizer with a lighter texture. Hydralight fits that need perfectly. I use the moisturizer as part of my nighttime routine which includes : 1. Cleanser 2. 2% BHA Gel 3. 1% Retinol 4. Eye Cream 5. Vit C Serum (for brown spots) and then 6. Hydralight MoisturizerI was finding that the BHA and Retinol were making my skin feel hot and a little irritated and felt that I needed a moisturizer to soothe my skin after exposing it to strong products like BHA and Retinol. Hydralight works great for that purpose. A wonderful moisturizer, particularly I think for anyone with slightly oily to oily skin, or, generally speaking for anyone who finds heavy moisturizers feel uncomfortable.
