    Great SPF product
    • I had tried the Skin balancing SPF previously and it made me skin angry and red since it was a chemical sunscreen. I have been using the Hydralight for a while now and it's wonderful. It might not be moisturizing enough for the New England winters here but it is perfect for Spring and Summer. Very happy with this product.

    • I am pretty fair (MAC Makeup NC 20-25, Bobbi Brown SAND foundation color) Each morning, I mix this in my palm with an equal part of the RESIST Super-Light Daily Defense SPF 30. It's really perfect! Try this if the RESIST is a bit too drying on your fair skin, or if you feel this makes you too "ghost like". LOVE PC products, please keep up the good work. My skin has never looked better. I am 43 and people think I am in my early 30's :)

For all skin types IMHO (except VERY dry)
    • I recently switch from PC Skin Recovery (which I used for years) to this Hydralight. It isn't quite as moisturizing which is fine. My skin has been more combo than dry lately. Also it is MUCH more matte. Skin Recovery is SHINY!!! I can always add a little moisturizer underneath if I have a particularly dry area. Also feels much more lightweight than Skin Recovery. Sinks in well. Really really like this!!! I really think any type of skin could use this other than very very dry types.

Good Sunscreen But Not Shine Free
    • It is a good sunscreen but I do wish it was shine free. My face is a whole lot shinier with it than without it.

Best moisturizer for blemish prone skin
    • Ordering my second tube now - product lasts a long time. I use this with CLEAR cleanser for "Blemish Prone skin" and I have not had a breakout since February. I really love this product and my face, neck and chest are well taken care of. I have tried everything over the years and I still cannot believe how much better my skin looks with Paula's products.

Great alternative to the SB SPF
    • I found that the Skin Balancing SPF made my skin ultra-sensitive. I was using the Resist Daily Wrinkle Defense for awhile, but it started to give me an orange tint (fair skin). So I tried this - and I LOVE it. Perfect balance between moisturizing and shine free. Going to give the PM moisturizer a try next time I'm feeling drier than usual.

I like the way it works
    • I like this cream. It does not irritate or dry my skin, it is not greasy. I like moisturizing and protecting effects. But my skin looks whiter after applying it on my skin!

Good Mineral SPF But Not Shine-Free
    • I like that this is a mineral sunscreen + moisturizer that rubs in well w/o leaving a white cast. I have been using it under my eyes, but not close enough to touch my lower lid and so far have not had problems with stinging in that sensitive area. Scent is almost odorless. Whatever slight sunscreen scent there is fades away quickly. It's also great that is includes some antioxidants, possibly making up for the price! Only negative is that this never leaves my skin matte and always looks shiny.

    • I'm obsessed with this sunscreen! I have dry/sensitive skin, but this works fantastic over my morning moisturizer. It sinks in wonderfully, doesn't burn, and leaves a nice sheen on the face. Love it!

    Awesome awesome
    • I really like this moisturizer/sunscreen. At first, I thought it is very expensive for a 2 oz sunscreen. However, I found out that I really only need two dime size of the product for the entire face. I like that it doesn't make my face oily at all. I have VERY oily and acne prone skin, most of the OTC sunscreens make my face SUPER oily. I like the combination of moisturizer and sunscreen in one tube as well. Very satisfied with the product and PC's customer's service. Will buy again.

    Awesome sunblock
    • I love this sunblock! I am severely allergic to all synthetic sunblocks. They all give me itchy, red, hot, raised bumps. Not fun. This is only one of two sunblocks that I can tolerate for my face. Paula, please make this in a body version (bigger size), it would greatly help me out as mineral sunblocks for the body are very limited.

    No shine, blends well.
    • Because I wear sunscreen on my face 365 days per year, I prefer a product with mineral protection vs. products with chemicals. The active ingredients in this product are zinc & titanium dioxide, physical mineral blockers that do a great job blocking harmful rays from the sun. The problem is that some mineral blockers leave a white cast on the face, or can be too pasty. Neither is the case with this wonderful product. It is shine free , blends well and has no white cast. LOVE IT.

    A good moisturizer
    • I like this product a lot! The tube is a lot smaller than I expected - so at first when I got it in the mail I was a little disappointed. But - you only need such a small amount that I realize now it will last a while. It is light and perfect for my oily skin.

    LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!
    • So, today, my first day trying out my sample, I used this moisturizer and all I can say is WOW! I am absolutely stunned at how soft and silky my face is!! Even after all day,out and about, still smooth as a babies bottom!! I don't think my skin has been this silky feeling since I was a pre-teen! I am absolutely speechless!! I cannot wait to try the rest of my samples and get ready to place a full size order!! Soooo excited!!

    Swear by this stuff!
    • This is my favorite moisturizer/sunscreen yet! Many SPF lotions do not go above SPF15, so this one gives all that with the softness of minerals on the skin and antioxidants. It makes my skin feel silky and not greasy. It does not give me any shine at all. Will be buying this for a long time.

    Not "matte", Not Moisturizing
    • This product claims that it has a "matte" finish, which I guess it does just not for my skin tone. When I think of a "matte" finish I think of shine free and/or oil free. I'm African American/Native American and it left my skin looking white and chalky. One top of it not being a "matte" finish it didn't really feel very moisturizing either. I'll try a different sunscreen from PC just not this one.

    Love it.
    • Love this moisturizer/sunscreen. Works great with my skin during the cold, dry winters we have here in Boston. I give it four stars only because of the tube size. For $24.00 I believe it should be bigger.

    Truly wonderful!
    • I LOVE it and I ordered several tubes last summer. It is perfect for my arms, neck and chest. I just had some laser treatments and I will try to be even more diligent about sun protection on my body this summer. However, the issue I have is that Paula does not offer a light, mineral sunscreen for the body (meaning in a larger tube). I go through 2 oz within a week and sadly, this is way too expensive for me. Please at least have a major promotion on it before the summer, so I could buy 10 tubes!

    Finally!
    • I have finally found a sunscreen that does not irritate my skin and make it red when applied, does not burn the eyes and goes on way more elegant than any other non tinted mineral sunscreen I have tried, plus so far from the samples I have tried it does not break me out.The only downside is that I must be clean shaven to apply this without the bearded area looking obviously white, grabs on to any stubble and impossible to blend in like the other parts of the face.Thank You for this!

    Love it!
    • I Absolutely love this stuff. I have acne prone, oily but dry, sensitive very difficult skin and it has taken me years to find a sunscreen for my face and neck that doesn't irritate my skin, doesn't break me out, doesn't make me oily, and is moisturizing enough that I am not flaking. Please don't ever change this, i absolutely love it!

    Nice sunscreen
    • I wear this every day. Rain or shine. I do like how it feels and it does not make my hair oily like most other sunscreens. I do not mind the white-ish finish it leaves on my face for two reasons, one being that it tones down my pink complexion and secondly, I dont mind if it is obvious that I am wearing sunscreen, it sets a good example for my family and friends. I sure hope that Paulas Choice keeps this product around for a nice long time.

Good for oily skin, but not dry skin
    • I liked this sunscreen because it was gentle, left a matte finish,&did not break me out. It did sting some areas of my face a little but those were problem areas that had active breakouts. Now what I didn't like about this sunscreen is that it was HARD to blend into my skin. I'm very pale/fair, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it, but it did leave a white cast that didn't go away. It was great when I had oily skin but now that I have dry skin it clings to ALL of my dry patches.

As close to HG as I've found
    • I have very fair, combination normal to dry skin with rosacea. Even though this product is marketed for oily skin, I find it moisturizes very nicely and also makes my skin feel so incredibly soft. It's also uses all mineral sunscreen ingredients which I'm very happy about since I find that almost all chemical sunscreens are very irritating to my skin. My only complaint is that I find it hard to blend out the white cast. I wonder if I'm using too much? (a little larger then a peanut for my face)

The Best Mineral Suncreen on the Market!
    • Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Dioxide, beautiful formulation, hydrating yet non-greasy (after it's absorbed)... I love it! If you avoid mineral sunscreens because of the white cast, I use the Veronica Gorgeois (on YouTube) method to apply this -- Spread liberally over the face and neck, just to apply it. It doesn't need to be even at this point. Wait thirty seconds to let it absorb, then gently massage evenly into the skin. I then use a small eyebrow brush to remove it from my brows and hairline.

How does Hydralight Shine-Free Daily Mineral Complex SPF 30 differ from Skin Balancing Ultra Sheer Daily Defense Broad-Spectrum SPF 30?

These two daytime moisturizers with sunscreen have different active ingredients. Hydralight Shine-Free Daily Mineral Complex SPF 30 contains titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, while Skin Balancing Ultra Sheer Daily Defense Broad-Spectrum SPF 30 contains a blend of avobenzone with other non-mineral sunscreen actives. The Hydralight SPF 30 is a light cream with sheer moisture, whereas the Skin Balancing SPF 30 is more like a liquid/fluid lotion. BOTH of these daytime moisturizers provide excellent broad-spectrum sun protection and treat skin to the beneficial antioxidants it needs to look and act younger. Also, both formulas were designed to work well under makeup (they won’t cause it to slip off or make oily areas look shiny).

Should I reapply Hydralight Shine-Free Daily Mineral Complex during the day?

For casual wear, meaning less than four hours total time out in the sun, it is not necessary to reapply sunscreen as you will be protected all day. If you are perspiring or just spending a longer period of time outdoors, this daytime moisturizer with sunscreen should be reapplied. You also have the option of touching up with a pressed powder rated SPF 15 or greater, such as Healthy Finish Pressed Powder SPF 15.
