About Me Minimalist
Comments about RESIST Dark Spot Eraser 2% BHA - 1 oz:
I have used this product for years to help with my melasma and acne. It is a wonderful product. It does take time to work for melasma (just like any skin lightener does) but given time it's amazing! Wonderful multi product, please don't ever stop making this!!!
Service and delivery comments:

Great for blackheads
from Mumbai, India
About Me Beauty Conscious
I'm a dark skinned 41 year old woman living in a very sunny humid polluted tropical climate so I'm probably most susceptible to melasma. I have oily sensitive skin. Although I have applied sunscreen regularly since my 20s, I could have probably applied it better. I have two large brownish grey patches on either side of my face and my forehead also has lighter patches. I use this in the night time. I'm a bit nervous about using it in the day as it makes your skin so sensitive to the sun. Anyway in the daytime I use Vitamin C under sunscreen and I'm wary about using too many products together. I have been using it for about 5 weeks. I feel like this product works better on acne marks. It also works GREAT on blackheads and for preventing acne. I have found that many deep seated blackheads have come out since I started using this. Bear in mind that I have used this on blackheads and not inflamed pimples but I haven't really got any since I started using this. However as far as pure melasma patches are concerned, I'm not sure there is much improvement. The instructions say that I will see results in up to 12 weeks so I will give it a go but I did expect to see some lightening of the patches till then. In the past I have used retinol, glycolic acid, kojic acid and even Q-Switch laser without effect. My skin is generally quite oily but I did find this was quite drying. However, although my skin is quite sensitive, this did not cause any inflammation. I find it quite gentle and the smell is barely discernible.I understand from researching on the Internet that Hydroquinone should not be used interminably. I would like Paula's Choice to clarify this.
I ordered this via Amazon as shipping to India is enormously expensive. More than double the price of the product itself!

Holy Grail for Acne Scars

I have dark ebony skin and I've been looking for something like this for years to remove my acne scars. Nothing seemed to work and finally this special serum made a difference within just 1 week! I've never seen anything like it.

Did nothing for me
from San Jose, CA
I used this product for over a year and while it faded one freckle slightly and was a good exfoliant it otherwise did nothing for me. I no longer use this product.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

needs new packaging
This is a good product. It really does work well. But, PLEASE put it in different packaging! It is such a mess to use, I don't want to purchase it again. A bottle with a dropper would be wonderful and I would be a returning customer, because an effective brown spot lightener is hard to find.
Reduces acne scarring but not much else
from San Francisco
About Me Beauty Expert
I've used this for over a year and I'm finally giving up. It does reduce the brown spots caused by acne and it's a good exfoliant. That's about the extent of my Recommendation. It doesn't get rid of sun damage, after over a year of use my stubborn freckle has barely faded and my other damage has stayed the same. It does not work on skin darnkening caused by pregnancy and menopause. It is a gel so it does not blend well with makeup and is best for nighttime only. Also, because my middle aged hormones pump out grease it's not strong enough as an exfoliant for daily use. This would probably work for you if you have young oily/ normal combination skin and a few light acne marks you want to get rid of. But for this stage in my life it does not nearly do the job. Will not be buying again.
Reaction to product
By Diana J
from Columbus, Ohio
I used the product once or twice daily for two weeks. After 1 week, I found that I was breaking out in small pustules, similar to pimples. I believe it is due to the gel formula. I have hade the same reaction to Murad. I hoped this would work because of the difference in scent; this smells much better. On the other hand, it did start to light the sun damage.
Great for Brown spots
I have used this product for a while now and it is one I cannot do without. I now use it mixed with the 10% niacinamide booster and my skin has never looked better. I just add 3-4 drops to this. I have hormonal acne, really oily skin and melasma. This helps lighten, plump and smooth my complexion.

Makes dark spots darker
from NY, NY
I'm very dissapointed with this product. It made my pimple marks darker and it's horrible. I do not recommend.

I've been using Paula's Choice for well over a decade. I love this product. I've lived at the beach since 2001 so you can imagine some of the things I've put my skin though. Well, at around when I was 28 I decided to use sun screen. Best decision ever. My skin has some brown blotchiness, a red mark, and the uneven skin tone. I used this product on my face and my upper chest and WOW! It has definitely lightened my skin tone on both of those areas. It's done a great job evening out those areas. My skin seems a little more plump too. I can not stress this enough SPF!! All the time when using this product and I'm talking over 55 SPF. If you're really smart you'll use 100. Otherwise you will make it worse.
