    Leaves hands shiny and greasy
    • This hand cream is not soothing at all. The backs of my hands are dry and cracked from surgical scrubbing and this cream does nothing to moisturize and sooth the skin. Other hand creams are easily absorbed and make the skin look moisturized. This one doesn't. The greasy shiny appearance actually makes my hands look much older. It also smells strongly of chemical sunscreens. I don't like it at all for my hands, but I've started using it on my face and there, it is decent.

    Great concept, formula needs work.
    • I'm in my 30's, living in a cold climate, and I spend 3 hours a day driving for work. A hand cream that would care for my dry skin, have anti-aging benefits, AND sunscreen for those car rides? I was excited to try this! Unfortunately this formula is not for me. It's very thin and greasy, it sits on top of skin for hours while transferring to everything you touch, and smells like bargain brand sunscreen. If it ever gets reformulated I might give it another shot. A rare miss for PC.

Great SPF moisturizer for dry skin
    • I have recently discovered this daytime moisturizer with SPF and I love using it for my face. It is the only one in Paula's line (and I tried them all via the wonderful samples) that does not leave my face feeling dry and tight. I agree with other reviewers that this is not for those with oily skin, but it is great for drier skin, soothing and full of so many great ingredients!

    Consistency Issues
    • How I really wanted to love this hand cream. I mean, $13.00 for 1.7 ounces of liquid UV retardant with antioxidants? Heck yeah! Once I found it, I ordered it right away. I used to use my facial sunscreen on my hands, but found it too expensive to reapply throughout the day after I washed them. This, however, is simply too runny; for a hand cream, one expects a thicker and more emollient product that can eliminate the dryness from frequent washing. I'll use the rest of it, but I'm not reordering.

    hand cream with spf
    • I ordered and tried this hand cream today. It is liquidlike a lotion but rich and moisturizing. This cream smell a lot like suntan lotion, so I'm not sure if this hand cream is necessary, you could just use any kind of sunscreen?

    Greasy? What?
    • I don't know what the gals are talking about when they complain this hand lotion is greasy. Greasy is slathering vegetable oil on your paws. This lotion quickly absorbs into the skin leaving the hands soft and supple. It dries to a matte finish. There is a slight opaque look only noticeable in bright sunlight; but that comes from the zinc oxide which works as a barrier keeping that undesirable radiation from damaging the skin. Great stuff.

    It's okay.
    • I used it both on my hands and my face. The texture is quite emollient, silicon-y and it gives off a shiny complexion. It might be good for people with dry skin to use on their face, or those who would like more shine, definitely not for oily skin though. Hands don't feel too sticky after use. Hand cream with SPF is necessary for those who drive a lot, and this product is worth trying.

excellent hand cream+face spf for dry skin
    • Really love this handcream for both face +hands. It's not greasy and is I squeeze out just a small amount to spread on my face+neck or a dab to moisturize my hands. I've experimented with 2 other PC spfs (Resist spf 25+ Hydralight Mineral spf 30) Also since I buy some PC products this price tag helps me with my budget. What's great is it's moisturizing but not thick+greasy plus spf 30-perfect for winter!

Excellent Cream for Hands and more
    • This is the best hand cream I have ever used. I live in a northern country and my hands get dry and dehydrated. I am always trying different hand creams and this one works the best. I also use it on my arms. My little secret is that on very cold days I put it on my face before I go out and it protects my face from the cold elements and with the SPF even on days when the sun comes through. Wish it was available in a larger tube to use on the body as a sunscreen for dry skin. ....Eda S.

    Very Greasy Hand Lotion
    • Not a fan of this hand "cream". First, it is extremely greasy, as noted in most other reviews. Second, Paula calls it a cream but I'd call it a lotion since it's thin and runny. Third, it doesn't seem very moisturizing. Fourth, the tube is very small, not a good value for the money. I mostly use PC products -- and love the Clinical Body Butter for my hands at night -- but I'll be looking for a different SPF hand cream. Too bad there just aren't that many options. Hopefully PC will reformulate.

    Good for my face
    • I have had issues finding the right sun protection for my face because synthetic sunscreens eventually get into my eyes causing stinging and physical sunscreens leave thick white cast and cause big breakouts. This hand lotion has perfect combination of both. Doesn't leak into my eyes, doesn't leave white cast; however, I do get very minor breakout but far better than my past experiments with other sunscreens. And this hand cream doesn't have the avebenzone that I'm so sensitive to, yay!

    Not for me
    • I was hoping this would be a hit because my hands get lots of sunlight (think, hands on a steering wheel always exposed to sun!) and they are a bit darker than the rest of my arms. BUT, I found it to be a bit greasy. It wasn't as bad once it dried but my skin just felt heavy and the backs of them burned a bit. I LOVE the Soothing Body Butter though, it's perfect. Not mad at all, I only ordered a sample and I'm not worried about getting less than a dollar back :) Might give to my mom!

    Even in desperation...
    • I really want to find a good (not even great, I gave up on that) hand cream with SPF. Any amount of SPF. There was Dove hand cream with SPF which was nice, but it was discontinued. So I tried lots more, but I cannot stand fragrance. So I thought I could stand almost anything, I am so desperate. But. This one is so greasy that I cannot use it if I will be on a computer, camera, driving, etc. And if I am going to use it for night, why would I need SPF?

    Too greasy
    • I believe in the merits of this hand cream, but I find it too greasy for my regular use. To put it on during the day at work, with my clothing (sleeves) near it—my hands just end up too messy. I'll look for something else to try to do the same functions. I use a lot of PC products and will continue to do so—just not this one. Maybe they will come up with a different formulation.

    love it!
    • My hands look so much better! I've skimmed through some of the other reviews, and I'm a little surprised. I've had no issues with greasiness or shiny hands - maybe it helps if your skin is super-dry to begin with? Also, as another reviewer mentioned, a little does go a long way. I'm rarely consistent with hand cream use, partly because I don't see much difference when using them. This one makes a noticeable difference, so I actually remember to apply. Definitely recommend.

Wish it were bigger and less greasy
    • So a compliment is that I wish this came in a bigger tube - that teensy thing for the money just goes way too fast. My complaint is that it's very greasy, and also the sunscreen (I guess?) leaves a white film behind on clothes, my desk at work, etc. I don't mean to sound so "complainy", because once it sinks in, it's wonderful stuff! But if there were a different formulation, AND a bigger tube *after* it's reformulated, I'd be happier with it.

    Could be better
    • I reviewed this before and I do quite like it. However, it could be less tacky, and I have since discovered a product called Supergoop Hand Cream with SPF 40, and I want to ask PC to consider making something similar to that formula. I am loyal to PC and use a ton of their products, but I have switched from this hand cream to the Supergoop. It is the ideal hand cream, not greasy or tacky in the least, and stays on very well for SPF protection. It is superior to this. Please make one!

    Effective Sunscreen/Moisturizer for Hands
    • I'm glad I gave this product a second chance. While I had tried this sunscreen a while ago and didn't care for it at the time, I decided to try it again and am glad I did. I've been using it consistently this time around and I feel it has improved the quality of my skin on the tops of my hands. My hands are softer and look more youthful. This product leaves a pleasant sheen right after application and will eventually dry down to a more matte finish. I will purchase this product again.

    • I have been on a hunt for a sunscreen for my hands for a while now. I tried this hand cream with spf 30 but it just was too greasy for it to work for me. I have been using the hydralight spf 30 and that has been working really well for me.

    A miss.
    • I've been a fan of Neutrogena hand lotion for years. I ordered two samples of this hand cream in my recent order. This hand cream fell short for me because: --the sunscreen odor was quite strong when first applied. Sadly, that cloying smell never lessened. --the finish it left on the back of my hands was similar to a dusting of a light colored FROST eyeshadow. Not a fan. Will stick to layering Neutrogena and a separate sunscreen.

Nice cream, not so nice smell.
    • I got a couple samples of this, and unfortunately I'm not really a fan. It doesn't feel greasy at all, leaves hands with a satin, almost powdered finish, it soaks in quickly and leaves a decent amount of moisture. But it smells very strongly of sunscreen, and I just couldn't take the smell. If it was a really fantastic hand cream, I might be able to overlook it, but it's just not enough for the overpowering scent.

    Wonderful to use on Face
    • Love this for a face sunscreen. It is light and blends into skin without that heavy feel. Was surprised when a Paula's Choice rep told me I could use it on my face. My favorite SPF for my face from all my four PC SPF I own. Will order more.

This hand cream is more moisturizing than the original formula. What changed?

It's a new formula! We listened to customer feedback and transitioned the original Resist Ultimate Anti-Aging Hand Cream SPF 30 formula to our Hydralight line for normal to oily skin.

Lots of customers told us that they loved the former Resist hand cream as a facial moisturizer, but it wasn't moisturizing enough for their hands. Therefore, we now have a more emollient hand cream that still provides reliable broad-spectrum sun (and brown spot) protection and contains antioxidants to defend against signs of aging. We hope you agree this was a change for the better!

How often should I apply Resist Ultimate Anti-Aging Hand Cream SPF 30?

As often as needed to maintain protection. Apply liberally each morning and consider taking it with you for use when you're away from home and wash your hands and/or perspire heavily. After the first application each day, you can apply an extra dab to the tops of your hands after washing them and massage in. This not only ensures ongoing sun (and brown spot) protection but also helps moisturize your hands after washing so they don't become dry again.
