Great product, iffy packaging

Comments about RESIST Brightening Essence - 1 oz:
I've been using this for about a month and my skin is noticeably smoother and brighter. My entire complexion just looks more awake and clear. I haven't had any issues with breakouts, dryness, or reactions, but everyone's skin is different. I definitely recommend getting a few sample packets to try out before dropping this much money. The only qualm I have is the packaging. It's absolutely gorgeous, but the dropper is a pain. It's a button-type dropper and I always end up pushing down too hard and a ton of product will come out instead of the 3 drops I try to shoot for. Other than that, this stuff is amazing!

As a longtime fan of Paula's Choice, I am finally compelled to write my very first review for this outstanding product. After two days use, hubby commented on how great my skin looked. Coworkers insisted that I share the secret of my newfound glow. After three days I stopped wearing foundation altogether, just a touch of concealer here and there. The applicator is elegant and dispenses the proper amount. The essence is lightweight (like water) and three drops covers my entire face and neck area. My skin appears tighter, pores and dark spots much less noticeable, brighter in tone, subtly plumped and hydrated with no added shine. I am in my mid-fifties with occasional breakouts (still) sun damage, and fine lines. I will never be without this great unique standout product. Thank you Paula for giving me the complexion that I could only dream of!

A package of almost everything
from OR, Portland
I used several boosters and I love mixing them together and apply all at once prior to my serum/moisturizer. When I started to introduce this essence into my routine, I noticed a mix with Hyaluronic booster makes it a little too heavy for my skin and I tend to have some small outbreaks. I had used Niacinamide and C15 booster but I can't really see my pores minimizing, neither does my skin brighten up. Once I stop mixing with the booster (except for C15 in the morning), no more further outbreaks and my skin feel less heavy. I've combi-oily skin and while I love to have a little of everything in my skincare routine, sometimes less is more. This essence has a little of most of PC boosters so I'd want to consider this as a all in one package. I find a combination of several boosters is not as effective as to JUST apply this essence, and I can see visible results. Realistically speaking, the results are subtle as I'm only into my 2 weeks usage. And yes the feel of the essence is quite viscous but it's relatively easy to apply on. Though it does leaves my skin a bit sticky, my skin gets mattified after I apply my skin balancing serum. Therefore, to me it's not so much of a problem. I have literally skipped moisturizer as this essence is good enough to keep my skin pumped up.

Lightweight, smoothes Skin

I like this product. I like the dropper which dispenses the right amount of product. I have very sensitive skin, but pretty "normal" other than sun damage which is my main concern. This does brighten, smooth, and is of great Paula's Choice quality. I will say I am not quite sure how this is different than my beloved BHA (life changer), and if they are supposed to be applied together, etc. I also am not quite so sure about the ingredients---usually PC really explains scientifically what everything is doing in a transparent way. Still, I can call the info line for this. At the end of the day, it is a good product that does not feel superfluous or gimmicky, promises what it will do, and doesn't freak out my skin---SCORE!

Instant Pimples - But Wanted to Like...
Hi PC Fans - Excited to buy this and try it out. Unfortunately, there's something in the formulation that created pimples for me after just 2 days of use. I will request a refund-Paula's Choice Customer Service Team is #1. LOVE the PC Resist 10% Niacinamide Booster and Renewal Mask, though (lovely products and no break-outs)---will continue to use these products. Again, wanted to like, and appreciate PC continuing to launch new products! Good luck if you try this, and hope it works for you.

I use the C-15, retinol, and Niacinamide boosters . I wasn't sure if I wanted to add the brightening essence, but after using it for a week my skin has an extra glow. People ask me what I use on my skin. The pump is a little tricky. I push down on it once and then unscrew the bottle and then dispense the amount in the dropper. That is enough.

Too sticky and caused break out
from New York
My skin is combination, pretty clear (some PIH here and there) and not sensitive. Applied for 1.5/2 weeks despite seeing pimples appearing after a few days. For those into asian/korean/Japanese skincare, this product does not have the consistency of a typical essence, which is more watery. It is more like a serum, but a sticky one. Because of that I thought it was too difficult to incorporate into my routine and not easy to spread on the skin. I had to mix it with other serums/gels to make it work. But still, it would leave an unpleasant feel on my skin. Not only that but it caused cystic acne. I was using it only on one side of my face and it is now experiencing lots of break outs when the other side of my face is clear and smooth. I think one of the issues is that it was clogging my pores. Therefore I have now brand new scars/PIH thanks to this "brightening" essence. I do not break out easily so I'm pretty upset!I use the niacinamide booster and it works beautifully. But this "essence" ruined my skin. So proceed with caution and patch test!

Having dry dehydrated skin I love any product designed to brighten or hydrate. I've been using this one daily/twice daily since receiving it and I'm still debating whether it's worth it. I definitely prefer the new mask that came out or even the C15 booster in terms of brightening effects. Also, I'm not sure why this product can't be packaged like the other boosters with droppers. While it looks attractive, this dropper is much harder to handle and seems needlessly complicated. I've found a method to make it work, but I feel like a regular dropper would have been easier to open and close without risk of spillage.I'll definitely finish the bottle in the hopes of seeing some improvement but as of now I'm not sure I'd repurchase. Loving the mask though!

The product does brighten the skin and makes it look fresher, more rested, and with less texture (smaller pores, less visible fine lines) but the four stars are for the applicator - it looks spiffy but is hard to measure out two or three drops. As a pipette-wielding chemist, I live in a world of dispensing chemicals drop by drop. However, this morning I ended dumping the whole applicator-full in my palm and that is more than 2-3 drops because I found that the applicator does not allow the precision of measuring out 2-3 drops only. What is the trick to getting 2-3 drops with this really nice looking applicator?
