Comments about RESIST 10% Niacinamide Booster - 0.67 oz:
Quit smoking two years ago (I'm 27) and formerly smoked a pack a day for like four years. I thought I had lost firmness and was right! This product did nothing for my pores, but made my face firmer. Not just a little firmer, much firmer! 5 drops/day after exfoliant. Irritation for the first three days, then went away. I do with it had a little more slip to it. The water-like texture makes it sort of dray up in the lines on my palm and I feel like I'm about to have it run out of my hand. Other people probably like water-thin texture, though.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Minimalist
I bought a bottle of Paula's Choice 10% Niacinamide Booster, mostly because I'm trying to fade hyper-pigmentation on my face and I have large pores on my nose. The sample packaging really didn't do this product justice, and only helped me verify that the product would not irritate my skin. As a result, the bottle purchase was a bit of a risk as I didn't know if it would do much for my skin. The product is extremely thin, and doesn't lend itself to being used straight. Due to the watery texture, much of the product runs and is wasted. I resorted to mixing around 8 drops with a dollop of serum in my PM routing, aiming to get around 5% niacinamide concentration. With this approach, the mixture was still a bit thin, but more controllable. I appreciate the fragrance-free formula, and I like the natural niacinamide scent. Generally, I didn't feel that this product was particularly irritating. However, sometimes when my skin was acting up, I found it stung a little when applied.I'm nearly to the end of my bottle now, and I will not repurchase. It is not that I don't think niacinamide is beneficial. Rather, it is much more practical for me to use a product that already contains the minimum effective percentage of niacinamide. That way I can better control the application, and I know I will never have a proportion error due to using product from a dropper bottle. Overall, I didn't see a significant improvement in my complexion--and I definitely didn't notice any pore-shrinking. Since my hyper-pigmentation is not PIH, it is possible niacinamide simply won't show a dramatic result for me.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Unfortunate side effects
from Brooklyn, NY
Similar to a few other reviews, I wanted desperately to like this product. I'm a huge fan of PC, but sadly this booster just wasn't for me. I began mixing two drops with my CeraVe PM lotion (which also contains niacinamide) at night. When my face became flaky and red, I didn't attribute it to the booster, since I've been using CeraVe moisturizers containing niacinamide for years. It wasn't until a trip to the dermatologist that I realized I had a sensitivity to the high concentration. I tried only using one drop and reduced use to every other night, but that still seemed to irritate my skin. My one star rating isn't based on the product's effectiveness, only my skin's reaction to it. For those who don't have a niacinamide sensitivity, I'm sure it works wonders.
Exceptional Results With Consistent Use!
from Victoria, BC
This is an update on my original review. I am now on my second bottle of this and I'm amazed at the effect this has had on my skin texture and pore size! I've been using this for several months now. What started out as a subtle improvement to the pores around my T-Zone and less breakouts has, after months of use, resulted in obviously diminished pore-size, clear skin, and clear pores! I rarely break out now! Before using this, I was expecting to have to resort to expensive laser-treatments to treat the enlarged pores around my T-Zone. Those pores are now nearly invisible! I kid you not! I am ecstatic at the results and will continue to use this every day! The fine lines that were around my eyes seem to have nearly dissapeared too. This improved my skin texture the way I never expected a product would be able to do. I'm beyond impressed! I use this after applying RESIST Weightless Advanced Repairing Toner and before RESIST Pure Radiance Skin Brightening Treatment + a very tiny amount of either Shea Butter or SPF. Definitely worth a try, but give it at least a full bottle (3 months) of daily use to see noticable results!

About Me Beauty Conscious
I love PC products, but I don't think anything they've come out with has excited me as much as this. When this was first released, I received a sample with my order. I ended up receiving another sample with a later order, and I fell in love with it. This stuff was amazing from the first time I put it on. I have dry, flaky skin with enlarged, stubborn pores that too easily get clogged with sebum and dead skin. I rubbed this booster on my t-zone, and saw my skin was improved immediately! I haven't bought the full size product yet, but I definitely plan to!

This product does what it says it will do

I add this product to my morning and night moisturizer. A few drops, mix in my palm and onto my face it goes. I have been using this product for a little over a year now and my pores and face look amazing. This is one of the few products I have run across that does exactly what it says it will do. Bravo!
Expensive product that causes breakouts
from Milwaukee, WI
I was so excited to try this once I got it in the mail, but the day after I used it my face had broken out. I waited a few weeks until my face was cleared up, and then tried using it again but it broke me out. I've tried using every other day, only once a week, mixing it with my moisturizer and using it on its own, and each time it causes my skin to break out.Two months went by and I did not use it, then just a few days ago I tried ONE MORE TIME. And it once again made me break out. I am so disappointed in the product. I bought the full size since every single review on it was positive and it looked like it would be a slam dunk product, but it does NOTHING for me.

First, let me talk about my skin condition. I have used retin-A 0.05% for almost half a year. But it seems my skin hasn't yet tolerate it, as my skin still flakes, no matter how much moisturizer I use in the morning. I cannot apply my foundation with brush, because the buffering with a brush will leaves a lot of dry patches around my mouse (using a BB in a tapping motion won't). And I pores are enlarged due to dehydration and oiliness. I used 15% C booster before, but it doesn't help the texture, although it helps fade the post-acne mark much faster. So, I switched to the niacinamide booster after I finished the last bottle of VC. This bottle is really a game changer! I love the texture of it just after one use. Unlike the greasiness left by the 15% C booster, this one is absorbed into the skin immediately. I use 8 drops and apply directly to the skin with fingers after 2% BHA. it spreads pretty well. After 1.5 months of using it day and night, my pores have returned to their normal size and I no longer have that orange peel texture caused by retin-A. It also helps fade the post-acne red marks, but doesn't work too much with the brown scars. However, I didn't see any improvement in pore size comparing to how they looked like before I started using retin-A. But it makes sense as this product isn't a miracle. It cannot just vanish the pores like magic. Your pores will still be there, but if they're enlarged by some external factors, such as retin-A, or dehydration, niacinamide booster helps pump the skin and make them look smaller. I don't know how it can help in the long term, but I will definitely continue using it. PS. I reduced my retin-A dose to twice a week while using this booster because of the winter dryness.
Really Made a Difference on Pore Size
I was intrigued by claims that this product would reduce pore size. I have always been a bit unhappy with the size of my pores along my nose area and between my eyebrows. Initially, I started using daily, and that was too much. My skin was irritated and started breaking out. I reduced to every other day, and that was the magic balance for my skin. After toning, I use a few drops a pea size drop of moisturizer every other evening and rub that into my face well. Then, I moisturize as usual. I've used a few PC retinol products, BHA/AHA toners, and this product has finally made the difference with my pores. My face is smoother overall as well. I take care to avoid the eye area as this does irritate the skin around my eyes if I apply it in that area. I'm so glad I stuck with this product and figured out how it works with my skin. It's one of my favorite products and will definitely be a staple in my skincare routine for years to come.

It's probably the most powerful topical skin OTC product I have ever used --and it works I have very oily skin, and as I age, it actually gets worse--and my large pores are more noticable than ever. Enter Resist Niacinamide Booster 10%. Holy cats.I have used this product for two weeks and in that short a time, my pores look like they've almost disappeared about my nose and inner cheeks. The oil they produce has ALSO almost disappeared. I add two drops of the booster to my mix of hydroquinone from Obagi, and .1% Retin A.I have an oil slick of a face. Somehow, this stuff made the oil JUST disappear. I don't know how. I don't care. For the last two weeks, I have maybe had to blot ONCE A DAY (previously, it was more like 6 times/day or more). I. LOVE. THIS.LIke I said, this stuff is POTENT. I am not prone to breakouts, and I don't have really sensitive skin...but THIS CLOGS MY PORES. Ugh. So far, I have been able to manage the problem spot treating the pore before it gets totally clogged with a dab of Paula's 2% BHA, and a small dab of Benzoyl Peroxide. I hope that keeps the pore clogging at bay. The other issue I have is the booster will also cause irritation around the dry areas of my face (under my eyes, around the outer corners of my eyes). Sometimes the irritation causes my skin to peel a little. Moisturizer on those spots usually takes care of it, but it's annoying. Overall, it's pretty incredible stuff. But there IS a downside to this product. I would order a SAMPLE of this before you take the plunge, though.
